RE: The Official John Ostrander Discussion Thread

Hi, Mr. Ostrander,
Just a quick question - does anyone at Dark Horse do any proofreading of the text? Besides Randy Stradley, that is? I was looking at the entry for Cade Skywalker in issue #0 1/2, and the line "Cade took up his lightsaber again for the first time in decades" doesn't make sense to me - I thought just seven years passed since the massacre at Ossus? "Nearly a decade" would be more accurate, wouldn't it? And I'm sure that ares in "...the galaxy-at-large ares aware" is meant to be just the verb "are" as opposed to the Greek god of war Ares.

Can we get the titles for the next Legacy two issue story arc (#20-21) and the following one-shot (#22)? Is there going to be another large six-issue arc before delving into Vector?

Hey John!
I posted this in Jan's thread too, but you might also be pleased to see some of these.
Just letting you know that we had a Top 100 EU characters poll between EUC and Lit. A few of the people from Legacy have made it onto the list.
Highlighting a few for you:
27. Darth Krayt/A'Sharad Hett
14. Roan Fel
And my personal favorite:
9. Cade Skywalker

John, has the Legend of GrimJack series been canceled? No new ones have been solicited in quite some time, and number 9 never came out (or if it did, I never received it despite having pre-ordered. . .).

Mr.Ostrander,
Would the Galactic Alliance Core Fleet be destroyed before the Legacy series end?

I LOVE the thread. I LOVE the "fangirl obsession". it's probably my face thread on TF:N. I took the icon as show of support. The only reason I don't post there is I don't want to make anyone self-conscious. Mary, my Significant Other, calls it the "Happy Pants Thread". And congrats on being asked into the Senate! ,sniff!> I'm so proud!
Go get 'em, grrrls! (And guys.)

Hey, all.
I've been away for a spell. Coping with deadlines. I'm going to try to be here more now.
FYI for those in the NY area -- Jan and I will be doing a signing at the Dark Horse booth on Saturday at the New York Comic Con. We're scheduled for 5:30 - 6:30 PM on 4/19. If you're going to the Con, drop on by and say hello.
All the best

Heard about a certain icon being sported over in EUC and I just had to come see for myself. That's very funny and very very cool.
Keep up the wonderful writing, John!

Chiming in with the other fangirls to say how awesome it is to see you wearing that icon, John.
And in an even more fangirly display (is that possible? ), I'd just like to say that until Legacy, I practically never read comics. Trace insisted I try Legacy, however, and after reading Broken, I was hooked enough to start buying it issue by issue. I'm even buying the Vector issues despite not previously reading KOTOR, DT, or Rebellion just because I want to see how it plays into Legacy's storyline. Love the story, love the characters, love Jan's art. Wish new issues came out every week because the waiting is killing me. All that good stuff. Thanks so much!

Forgot to say that you can post over there all you'd like! I, for one, have no shame.
I'm so used to having a permanent "edit post" option. Tis weird not to be able to.

I was the same way. Legacy was the first comic I ever picked up, I read the books for years, but never even knew the comics existed. When I got here I was told I had to try Legacy and then I fell in love with Cade.
I'm really glad you enjoy the thread, John. That is awesome and makes me even happier that we are able to give it a home in the EUC and keep it going. Tell your wife she's more than welcome to join us!
