Well, he hasn't written any of the novels, but The Monster is *still* the best Gamer story, and he's always willing to come and talk to us lowly, pathetic fanboys. grin In fact, I secretly suspect he may...be one... [face_shocked]

I can't wait for the New Essential Guide to Characters!

Thanks, Gatherer, for including me in the author discussion. I've always been a fan of the direct feedback offered by the TFN forums.

Thanks also for the nice comments on "The Monster," IAmTheDarkSide.

I hope to meet some of you at the SW Celebration in Indy!

Dan, you're a great inspiration for those of us that just love to go too far with the intricacies of the SW universe. grin

Hope you're ready for a barrage of questions when your new Essential Guide is out. wink ( As I mentioned in another thread, I'm anticipating it almost as much as Attack of the Clones. )

I have a question for Mr. Wallace if he could be so kind to answer it...

In The NEW Essential Guide to Characters you list Thrawn being born on Csilla. Although the most populace of chiss worlds with well over a trillion people, I would like to inquire if their was any information that gave you this difinate source.

BTW, I know he is part of noroudo but I'm still looking for definate proof.

Hi Chissdude,

Sorry I didn't respond to your question earlier. I listed Csilla as Thrawn's homeworld, basically because it was listed as "unknown" in the first EGC, and we'd since learned that the Chiss homeworld was Csilla in Star Wars Gamer, so it seemed wrong to not list his homeworld as Csilla. I see your point, however, about there being more places in Chiss-space for someone to be born (other than the species' original spawn-world). I must point out, however, that I didn't say Thrawn was born on Csilla. My hometown is Detroit, but I wasn't born in Detroit...

Best,
Dan

Hey Dan!

For the life of me, I just keep forgetting how well you really, really . . . really, really . . . know the SW comics!

In your piece, "I, Yuuzhan Vong" in Star Wars Gamer # 8, I saw the possible thread for rp gamers on the Hutt resistence and the leader of this particular cell, the Hutt, Embra. I could have sworn I saw the name "Embra" before, but I couldn't place it, and I couldn't narrow it down to where. So, weeks . . . if not months ago . . . I searched in all kinds of odd-ball places. I even checked the Hutt crime lord in "Far Orbit Project"??? What's up with that??? What was I thinking!!!???

This past weekend, on an entirely unrelated search, I was going through the Yavin Vasilika (sp?) comics, and . . . therein I found Embra the Hutt. Why do I keep overlooking some obvious starting points. This was a relatively recent SW comic series for the time frame of writing your "I, Yuuzhan Vong" article. UGH!!!!

I should know better by now where to start some of my searches. Geez, and this Yavin Vasilika (sp?) reference popped up again recently, in another of your collaborative pieces from Star Wars Gamer # 9, the "Endor" piece, right? And it still didn't occur to me!!!

Geez, I'm really slippin' . . .

Bottom line!!! Great job!!! It's always fun to see your work!

AND WE NEED another story featuring your "Great Herdship Heist" protagonists!!!! We don't have enough Tynnans (or Squibs or Drall for that matter) running amok in the in SWEU . . . so kept them coming!!!

Best,

Ana V

Thanks Ana, for the observations about the comics, and for noticing the origin of Embra the Hutt. I like to pick up obscure references when I'm working on SW projects. Hey, if nobody else is using 'em...

Thanks also for the comments about the "Herdship Heist" characters! I'd love to revisit Cecil Noone & crew and add a third tale to their ongoing adventures. (Trilogize their adventures?) Actually, I've got about four tales already worked out in my head...

Best,
Dan

Another question about the NEGTC Mr. Wallace.

I really got a kick out of the Pellaeon entry, with the whole "good bad guy" thing about how he could have joined the Rebellion. Was this your own feelings on the matter, or just a filler?

Thanks agian.

Dan, I second the idea of a new Noone crew story!
