Welcome to the February New Stories Index for the Before the Saga Board!
This Index will be updated daily with new fanfiction stories from this board, so you can spend less time searching and more time reading these great fics!
I will be maintaining this index. I will try to locate new stories every day, but you're welcome to send me the info for your fic through PM. If I've missed your story, or if you have any questions or comments, please feel free to PM me.

Below is a list of common terms and abbreviations used in this forum that will be helpful for readers searching this index using the find functions in their browsers:
EU - Expanded Universe (all of the books)
JA - The Jedi Apprentice books about Obi-Wan's youth before TPM
pre-TPM - takes place before the movies
AU - alternate universe
OC - original (author-originated) characters
GFFA - Galaxy Far, Far Away
H/C - hurt/comfort
vignette - a one-post story, especially a single scene
humor - lots of silliness
angst - anguish, torment, fear, anxiety
crossover or x-over - mixing Star Wars with another movie, tv series or book
round robin or RR - multi-author story inviting more people to join in (also called an add-on)
song fic - a story based on the lyrics of a song

Summary: Qui-Gon feels a prodding from the Force one night, and meets a very special boy.
Title: Dream Story
Author: silverfighter
Timeframe: About six or seven years before The Phantom Menace. Obi-Wan is fifteen.
Summary: Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan are on a short, nameless mission on Kamino when a vicious storm strikes. They have to help children off of a dying settlement, and in the process meet some interesting people who may or may not want to help them.
Notes: This is a weird, slightly AUish story. Weird and AUish because this story is based off of a dream I had when I was thirteen, in the POV of Obi-Wan Kenobi. This whole first part is pretty much an exact copy of the dream, but later parts will be what I come up with now. I'm only planning on one, maybe two more parts, but if a plot bunny bites, there might be more.

Dedication: A little bit of background, I got the idea for this story from the stable I volunteered at for 4 years, where we gave riding lessons to people of all disabilities, a few of which were autistic. These people really touched me. They taught me a lot, and I had so much fun with them- they really are beautiful people! There’s a lot more I’d like to say, I just don’t know how, so I guess I’ll just say this: I dedicate this story to all my autistic friends at Wings of Hope.
Note: This was originally going to be a long story about an autistic Jedi girl at the Temple, but I have since lost the plotbunny, but thought, why lose the story as well? It works well enough as a stand-alone!

Notes: Another stupid survey rolled around at work, so I thought I'd update and revise this. This survey was originally posted in the old Qui-Gon challenge thread. This is complete silliness and the joke may not translate well for Jedi, but this kind of online questionnaire has been showing up where I work every so often. Seeing that the seat of galactic civilization is about to collapse in on the Jedi of Qui-Gon Jinn’s era, this seemed like the sort of thing that might be going around the Temple.
