Summary: Shmi needs to raise money to hire an investigator to find out who Anakin's daddy is.
In the hot sun, the lady walked up and down the stairs.
Up, down, up, down again.
Why wouldn't anyone buy her waffles? If nobody bought her waffles then she would never be able to afford an investigator to find out who Anakin's father was. So far she had been able to stop people from asking questions by saying "There was no father" but that QuiGon character was getting more and more suspicious. He even asked Anakin for some of his blood so he could run a paternity test against the databases!
Then she realized something. She wasn't saying anything.
No wonder nobody was asking to buy her waffles. They didn't KNOW she was selling waffles!
"Waffles for sale!" She cried out. "Waffles for sale!"
A man spoke up, "I'll take two." he said, handing her 50 republic credits.
"Your credits are no good out here." She told him gently.
"Take it or leave it!"
She took it.
Now what was she going to do with republic credits? The local investigators wouldn't take them.
Maybe an off-world assassin instead? That would take care of him for good!
She opened her newspaper to the "Bounty Hunters and Assassins" page. Here's one that worked for cheap! And his face was tattooed the same as her secret lover Lars' ceiling!
This would be perfect!
