CHAPTER FOURTEEN
Gregor checked to make sure that the Wookiee was keeping Obi-Wan occupied before he approached the kitchen where Paraq was busy cooking.He leaned in the doorway and watched her for awhile before finally speaking.
"Care to tell me what the hell that little stunt was you pulled back in the marketplace?" he asked flatly.
Her hands stilled briefly before,with a shrug she continued her work.
"I don't know what you're talking about," was her quiet reply.
Gregor made a frustrated noise in the back of his throat.
"Come on love!You saw those Jedi and you bolted the other direction with the kid," he said accussingly.
Paraq merely ignored him,causing Gregor to rush over to her side.One of his hands covered her's and he waited until she finally tilted her head up to study him.
"He can't stay here," he said gently. "That young man has a greater destiny that doesn't include riffraff like us."
A rebellious light shone in her golden eyes.
"He wants to stay with us!He told me so himself," she said.
"Only because he's afraid of the unknown.Once he's back with his own kind,they can help him in a way we can't," Gregor assured her.
"And what if they can't Gregor? Have you ever once considered that? What will the Jedi do with him if he doesn't regain those lost memories?" she demanded.
Gregor found he couldn't meet her piercing stare and let his gaze drop to the countertop.
"I'm sure they will provide for him.." he began,only to have her cut him off.
"By locking him away somewhere? Trust me,the Jedi have no use for Force sensitives that are flawed in their eyes!" she snapped.
A strangled gasp had them both spinning toward the doorway.Obi-Wan stood watching them with a terrified look on his face.
"They won't take me back?" he asked hesitantly.
Shooting Paraq a nasty glare,Gregor slowly approached the young man.
"They have been and are searching for you little one.I'm going to contact the ones that are here on Coronet so that you can go home.."
"NO!" Obi-Wan protested.
Gregor held up a calming hand.
"Obi-Wan,you need their help to get well," he said soothingly.
Blue-grey eyes stared at him in betrayal,before Obi-Wan spun around and ran from the house.
"Obi-Wan!" Gregor screamed,as he took off after his young charge.
As Paraq followed behind him into the living area,the Wookiee growled at her curiously.
"Go with him please!Bring Obi-Wan back before he gets into trouble!" she pleaded.
Nodding,the Wookiee quickly grabbed his bowcaster before hurrying out the front door after the other two.

with obi's luck, he'll run right into kidnappers and then we'll have all sorts of groups looking for him.
wonder about Parac's background that she is so scared and hurt by Jedi?

Very understandable, I suppose, but very sad, especially for Qui-Gon...

What a cliffhanger, Obi-Wan running out of his abode. I'm scared that the *wrong* people could find him.
