CHAPTER TWENTY
One year later
Gregor entered the bustling waiting area and quickly searched the sea of beings for a particular one.He finally spotted her sitting next to a young Jedi padawan,apparently asking him questions before typing in his answers onto a datapad.
As he stood and watched her,he was amazed at how different she looked.Gone was the wounded bitterness she had carried for as long as he had known her.She was clearly relaxed and happy.Content.
Sensing someone staring,she lifted her head and glanced around the room.Her eyes lit up with surprised delight when she saw him.Handing the datapad to the boy,she patted his shoulder and stood to hurry across the room.
"Gregor!" she breathed,as he pulled her into a tight embrace.
They clung to one another for several seconds before she finally drew back to study him.Her golden eyes widened in amazement when she saw the uniform he was wearing.
"It's official then?You're working for the Judicial Department?" she asked.
Shrugging selfconciously,he gave her a lopsided grin.
"Indirectly.Basically I'm just playing escort to the Jedi," he told her.
Nodding she glanced behind him.
"Where's your huge shadow?" she teased.
Gregor rolled his eyes.
"He's down at the dockingbay with the new ship.I can't pry him away from it!" he confided.
As she laughed,he gently ran a finger down her cheek,his eyes serious.
"You're truly happy here?" he inquired.
Smiling warmly,she reached out to squeeze his arm," Yes.More so then I have been in years."
Apparently satisfied,he nodded and pulled back.
"I'll let you get back to work then," he said gruffly.
Reaching up,Paraq kissed his cheek before starting to move away.
"Paraq!" Gregor called.
Turning,she eyed him curiously.
"Have you seen or heard anything about the little Jedi?" he asked.
Her face clouded as she shook her head.
"No Gregor.Everytime I ask,they tell me that he is doing as well as can be expected.I've never seen him here,so I'm assuming they took him elsewhere for treatment," she told him.
Seeing the dissappointment in his eyes,she smiled gently.
"We did everything we could for him Gregor.Don't ever forget that," she said firmly.
Nodding,he turned and left.A knowing grin curved Paraq's lips before she returned to her work.

Wonderful job, obi-ew...
The reunion between Qui and Obi was quite bittersweet...
I'm almost afraid to find out what's become of Obi in the year since we've seen him last...
But, of course, not afraid enough to stay away!!

awwwww, glad they are doing so much better. Now when obi shows up in full jedi gear and thanks them, the mush factor will go off the scale.
or if obi is up to his usual stunts, he'll get stolen and they will have to get with quigon to find him. grins.

EPILOGUE
Gregor nervously adjusted his new uniform and turned to eye his new ship proudly. He and the Wookiee had followed the Jedi’s instructions and went to meet with Master Dallia.The female Jedi Master turned out to be Corellian also and had heard of the former pilot over the years. In the beginning, she had given the two minor supply runs but after several months had turned over a battered freighter to them and allowed them to play escort to several Jedi teams.
Over the course of the last year, Gregor had tried to garner any information he could about the young Jedi, Obi-Wan ,but had always run into dead ends. For some reason the Jedi were being very tight lipped about what the young man’s fate had been. Eventually he had given up and stopped asking, knowing he would never see the young man again.
Still, a part of him continued to be saddened by the thought of the young man locked away somewhere in a room. The light that had been Obi-Wan Kenobi lost to the galaxy.
Pulling his thoughts back to the present, he concentrated on his current job. The Wookiee was readying the ship for their first official mission. Escorting a Jedi team to the planet Alderaan for important discussions.
The sound of approaching booted feet drew his attention. Two Jedi were rapidly moving toward him, both hidden behind the hoods that were pulled low over their faces. The taller of the two stopped before him, while the smaller Jedi appeared to hesitate briefly before continuing up the ramp and into the ship.
" Captain Gregor I presume?" the Jedi asked.
Bowing quickly, Gregor offered the man his hand.
"That’s correct Sir. It is an honor to serve you," he replied.
A large hand engulfed his briefly, before the Jedi once again pulled the robe around himself.
"My Padawan and I are ..... overjoyed to be your passengers Captain. Shall we board?" the deep voice asked before the Jedi spun around and followed the smaller man into the ship.
A little disconcerted by the Jedi’s reluctance to show themselves, Gregor shrugged and activated the ramp. Making his way into the cockpit, he dropped down into his chair beside the Wookiee and smiled with glee.
"Let’s see what this baby can do!" he urged his friend.
Grumbling happily, the hairy creature pulled back on the lever and pulled the sleek vessel smoothly into space.
Once they were safely on the way to Alderaan, Gregor clapped his co-pilot on the back.
"I’m going to go check on our guests," he informed him.
Moving into the hold, he found it occupied by only the shorter of the two Jedi. The brown hood was still pulled down over the figures face and the Jedi made no move to speak. Visibly confused, Gregor broke the awkward silence.
"Have you looked around the ship yet? She’s top of the line if you enjoy that type of thing," he prodded the silent figure.
"No," was the low and faint reply.
"Don’t talk much for a Jedi do you? Come on, I’ll show you around," Gregor said as he started for the rec area.
The Jedi didn’t move but rather stood and appeared to be studying the pilot from beneath the hood. Uncertain what exactly was going on, Gregor merely remained where he was and returned the stare. A slim elegant hand emerged from the folds of the robe and slowly began to clench and unclench the edges of the material. Something about that hand drew Gregor’s attention .
"Who are you?" he whispered.
The Jedi seemed to hesitate for an instant but finally lifted his hands and pushed the hood slowly off of his head. A shocked breath caught in the pilots throat at the face that was revealed.
"Little Jedi?" he breathed in disbelief.
An achingly familiar impish grin twisted the young man’s lips and a glint of humor gleamed in blue-gray eyes that were no longer dead, but rather fairly brimmed with life.
"Only you could get away with calling me that Gregor!" the young man said in that heavily accented but soothing voice that continued to haunt the pilots dreams.
He found that all he could do was stand and simply drink in the sight of a healthy, happy and very lucid Obi-Wan Kenobi.
"I..I can’t believe you’re okay little Jedi. I feared the worst," he admitted.
The young Jedi smiled gently in understanding.
"It took awhile, but the Jedi Healers along with my Master were finally able to reach me. Luckily I don’t remember much of what happened in the prison, but I do remember you and your kindness. I owe you my life my friend," Obi-Wan said quietly but with a wealth of feeling.
"I didn’t do anything special!" Gregor protested as he blushed in embarrassment.
"Obi-Wan is right Captain.You restored someone very precious to the Jedi," the Jedi Master said as he entered the hold and pushed back his own hood.
Gregor found yet another familiar face staring back at him. Qui-Gon placed a hand on Obi-Wan’s shoulder as they exchanged a fond smile.
"You restored the most precious person in my life," the older Jedi said with deep affection.
Clearing his throat, Gregor struggled to collect his emotions before responding.
"I’m thrilled I could help you little Jedi. You are special," he told the young man, chuckling when a blush stained Obi-Wan’s high cheekbones.
A mischievous smile lit up Gregor’s face as he moved forward and grasped the young man’s elbow and pulled him toward the cockpit.
"Enough of this mush! Come, we must show you off to the Wookiee!" he exclaimed.
Remaining where he was, Qui-Gon smiled as he heard Gregor’s voice echo back to him.
"Chewie! Look who’s back among the living!"
A loud roar of pleasure resonated through the ship, followed closely by a strangled gasp from Obi-Wan. Qui-Gon had to cover his mouth with his hand to muffle his laughter when he heard his padawan’s faint voice pleading.
"Humph!....you’re..squashing..me!"

Okay, I really liked the end. The fact that Gregor's not exactly sure if Obi-Wan is alright, but finally gets to understand is good. Why exactly were the Jedi worried about exposing their identities? Gregor was simply over joy, nothing else. Although it did make the suspense greater. You almost had me thinking it wasn't going to be them! :o
I liked this story in general because it seemed to fit Obi-Wan. Even when he didn't remember you had his persona down really well. Also, as much as I dislike Qui-Gon, his worries and fears in the story really seemed realistic to me.
Gregor and company was also very nicely done. They didn't know the boy, but they helped him. Paraq being connected with the Jedi was a nice twist as well. And the Wookie is Chewie??
Great Job, so glad you reworked it into this nice creation!

I loved the ending even better the second time around. Splendid as always. I am so glad you took your original idea and added all of your considerable talent to flesh out this story. It turned out wonderfully.
