i am completely shocked with that chapter!
yeah, i figured it was a possibility that obi would kill yoda as the story progressed, but as i was reading the last chapter i thought for sure that yoda was safe...
i guess i was wrong! it's so interesting, because up until now obi has done evil things, but he did what he thought was the will of the force. but killing yoda..
the best part of the chapter was how you had yoda face what i imagine he knew to be his death. it seems he accepted it. he offered obi food, and tinkered with his droid as he said what he had to say. that just made when obi struck him down all the more shocking!
and i wonder what obi's dream about qui-gon being there for him meant?
i've told you before how much i loved this story, and now i feel it is safe for me to say this is my favorite story you've done so far (and that says a lot cause you always write great ones!)

And now to find out if Yoda lived or died???



The churning rage was over just as quickly as it had begun. Obi-wan had vented his anger and was too exhausted to continue. Yoda’s ears were standing straight up, the shock of what had just happened to his droid only now registering. Yoda had been talking to Obi-wan, but all the while he was meddling with the droid fiddling with it; and Obi-wan couldn’t concentrate on what Yoda was saying.

He had ignited his sabre and with slashing strikes he had dispatched the droids head swiping the blade just above Yoda’s head, probably singeing the few hairs growing there. The droid began to fall backwards and Obi-wan continued to slash, pieces of the droid flew across the room; wiring, bits of metal, arms and legs.
By the time he had exhausted himself there was nothing left of the droid to salvage.

Obi-wan spun around, and glared at the diminutive troll.

“Now! you can concentrate on telling me what I want to know”

“Rusty droid it may have been and fix it now I cannot, but help you I can, fix you I can try to do” Yoda said.

Obi-wan stared at him for a moment and then he said quietly ‘Do’ or ‘Do Not’ there is no try”

“See! taught you I did, remember you have.” Yoda answered.

Obi-wan turned his sabre off and clipped it onto his belt, he was drained, and he sat heavily on the couch and rested his head back against the back.

“I’m waiting?” he said.

Yoda saw the resolve in the young mans eyes, so young and yet so old.
Not even old enough to be Knighted and yet more experienced with life and death than many Knights.

“Before it was time for your choosing, the force sent me visions; your training was of the greatest importance. Set about I did to find the one to train you.
Vos, Jericho and Kimino, or Qui-Gon Jinn, choice not easy; all were flawed.
Vos wanted you, Yes. But for all the wrong reasons. Possessed a power you did and wanted to tap into it to gain advantage for himself. Know you did not that lost two apprentice’s did Vos, both killed by his own blade, said he did that turn to the dark side they had. But sense nothing like that from the two did I. Master Vos unstable he was.
Knight Jericho too young he was, to train one as powerful as you.

Kimino thought he did that keep him grounded to the light, you would. Knew he did that slipping to the Dark side he was.
Not strong enough to resist. Give you to the Dark Lord he would have, your torture I saw, years of pain while still only a boy, served him as a slave for the remainder of your life, saw long life I did. Qui-Gon, fought the connection with you he did, finally realised it on the ship to Bandameer, meant to be your Master he was.
Unable to tell you because of what happened with your friend and then you jumped into the river."

“You are wrong Jinn told me he would never take me that he had his mind set on Skywalker. He was taking me and Garen to the Agri-corps, to leave us there”. he snapped.

“Told me he did that tell you once arrived at the Agri-corps, leave Garen there and bring you back.”

“I do not believe you”

“Anakin killed Garen and then he was going to kill me I sensed it. That’s why I jumped off the bridge; if Jinn were going to take me why didn’t he try to save me! he just stood there watching as I went over the waterfall. Why did he not see my potential if the others had seen it?" Obi-wan asked.

"Saw your potential he did but confused your power with that of Skywalkers.
Qui-Gon had a vision and in it he was the Master of the chosen one, only he confused his chosen ones Skywalker was the chosen one of all things evil; you were the chosen one of the force.

Qui-Gon was destined to be your Master but; fate intervened and set you on another course." Yoda explained.

“If you knew all this then why didn’t you take me, I would have been happy to be your apprentice.” Obi-wan stated.

"Too close to the Chancellor I was, see the darkness in him I did not, the force forbid me to take you. Understand I did later, when the chancellor revealed his true nature that the force knew you would be discovered for your true identity, and you would have been enslaved. the Darkness would have reigned Supreme forever; the Jedi would be no more.

“What a joke! So it was better for me to be trained by Darth Maul the Zabrak, he was evil he instilled hate in me. How could that be better than being what I always wanted to be ‘a Jedi’" Obi-wan snapped.

“Darth Maul a Jedi he was, many years before. He was a fine Jedi his name was Talgor but he was disillusioned and easily led. On many occasions in his youth he warned that the darkness was coming and that one would come to end the conflict by destroying the Sith and the Jedi, but we were arrogant then as well, no one believed him. Waited for you he did, spoke to you did he?” Yoda asked.

Obi-wan thought back to that time he sighed “Yes he spoke to me.I can give you what you want It was a voice in my head”
I remember asking the voice. Who are you, What do you mean?
the voice had said “You want to be an apprentice to learn the ways of the force do you not, but the Jedi will not accept you, I will accept you and you will become a great force user, I have foreseen it”
I asked him (How?)

he had answered. (Leave the how to me, do you accept?)

I accepted and he promised that Garen would be happy. Next Garen was dead and I was struggling in the River. When I woke I was in Mauls home. I saw him in the shadows and asked him what happened.



I remember saying to him You’re the one who spoke to me before, you said you were going to make me a Jedi” but he said.
(No’ I said, you will become a great force user, I have foreseen it)At the time I was confused “But to be a great force user is it not to become a Jedi?” I asked him. He said not all force users are Jedi.
He said he was evil and I disagreed with him. How can you be evil, you saved my life while Master Jinn just watched as I struggled with life, he watched me go over the waterfall and didn’t lift a finger to help me. I hate him
But he told me that hate was a strong emotion.
(Hate is a strong emotion; I do not believe you have the ability to hate with a passion) he said to me.

“Right he was” Yoda said.

“He was wrong. I did hate Qui-Gon and Anakin, I was happy when I killed Anakin, it felt good.”

“I killed Qui-Gon and Sidious" he said without emotion.
Yes felt them die I did. Right choice you made. Save Qui-Gon you could not, but let Sidious live you did not. Killed Sidious you did to end the darkness, Qui-Gon death was unavoidable."
“What makes you think I would have saved him even if I could?” he snapped.

“There is light in you Obi-wan” Yoda answered.

Obi-wan leaned back and closed his eyes. “I am tired” he whispered.


Yoda got up and made a cup of cha, he brought one back for Obi-wan, but the young man was asleep. Yoda sat down and watched him, feeling the force immerse him in a cocoon of warmth. Where no dreams could enter, were peace would reign supreme for a few hours at least. After an hour Obi-wan looked uncomfortable half sitting with his head slumped over to one side.

Yoda chuckled to him self “Knew I did that this couch would be used someday”
Yoda drew on the force and gently lifted Obi-wan up laying him down long ways on the couch, and before he settled him back down he released his utility belt and with the aid of the force placed his belt and sabre on the table next to the couch.
Then he put a blanket over him and got up himself closing the door and then Yoda went to bed as well.

Well, I can see how Qui-Gon would confuse them. There are so many Chosen Ones, after all. wink

Yhea Obi didn't kill Yoda, Yet.But how can he now after such a great moment of mushiness. Maybe Obi can learn to have some in the next part of his life.

Many hours later Obi-wan woke as the suns began to climb up into the day.
He stretched and realised he felt rested and refreshed. As he moved he saw his sabre on the table and shot up quickly grabbing it, he looked around and sensed Yoda was outside.

He could also sense other beings coming towards the hovel. Sand people, the scourge of Tatooine, they fed off fear, and stole whatever they needed to survive as no one was bold enough to go against them. Yoda stood up from his meditations as they rode up, Obi-wan came up and stood near the door to the Hut. Their language was a series of hoots and howls.
Yoda had learnt their language and was getting ready to do business with them or so it seemed to Obi-wan. But in fact they were intimidating Yoda saying that he didn’t need the furs he had, and they did. Apparently they had already stolen some fur pelts that he had purchased in Anchorhead the last time they had come to his home.

Yoda had bought them to keep him warm in the winter months. These sand people demanded that he give them more, Yoda spoke to them trying to convince them, that he needed them, but wasn’t having much luck.

Obi-wan stood in the shade of the hut and contemplated joining in the argument, he was feeling fresh and wanted to work off some of the stiffness on his body.
A spar with these marauders would be interesting he thought.



The leader stood real close to Yoda and pointed his blaster at him, warning him to give them all his pelts or he would kill him where he stood. Yoda didn’t back down, but he did say that he would give them half of the furs he had if they would leave them alone. The leader hooted and raised his blaster waving it in the air, Obi-wan sensed he was thinking about striking Yoda, and prepared himself to intervene.

Obi-wan thought (how stupid can Yoda be he should defend himself)
Just as the blaster barrel came swinging towards Yoda’s head Obi-wan flung his hand out and blue lightening crashed into the leader knocking him backwoods.
The group of raiders attacked immediately, but they were no match for Obi-wan, he ignited his sabre and dispatched several of the raiders before they even had time to raise their weapons, the shock that one lone man could defeat them so easily scared them and they took off. Once they were out of sight, Obi-wan glared at Yoda

“Do you have a death wish old man” Obi-wan snarled.

“Hurt me they would not. Intimidation is their weapon, wanted me to flinch, wait you should, learn patience you should” Yoda stated.

“Patience, what a load of Bantha poo. Patience will be the death of you, haven’t you learnt by now that it was patience and overconfidence, that saw you defeated by the dark side. Your way is brain-less, I didn’t think you were that stupid. You Jedi, no wonder you did not survive, it makes me laugh to think how you managed to live as long as you did”

Yoda shook his head “Anger leads you and you see nothing beyond long time I have kept the Sand people occupied with my foolishness. Now angry they are, look for others to torment, in danger the child may be” Yoda stated as he watched the Raiders disappear over the hill.

Obi-wan glared at Yoda, he felt the force flair a warning. “Where is the boy?” he snapped.
“Moisture Farmer raises him, safe he has been till now” Yoda said.

“If you believe he is not safe then let us go there and get him. Take him away from this place, why would you want to stay here anyway. There’s nothing here but sand. I hate it” Obi-wan said.

Yoda started to walk around the side “Follow me you should” he said.

They went around the corner and there under some hay was a speeder.
“Come drive me to the boy?”Yoda said.

Obi-wan jumped on the speeder and Yoda levitated up behind him “This way go” Yoda pointed.

Several minutes later as they came over the sand hill they sensed the Sand people were attacking the homestead. Obi-wan pushed the speeder faster, and as they got close Obi-wan jumped off and ignited his sabre.

He cut down two Sand people as they shot a man and woman who had been working in the field and had been to far away from their homestead to run for cover. Obi-wan didn’t hesitate he slashed and stabbed his way through the raiders, killing them wounding them, showing no mercy as he used his sabre as an executioners blade.

Once he was finished he turned and saw Yoda watching him. “To turn from the dark side will be impossible if you do not have mercy” he chided.


Obi-wan strode forward his eyes blazing with righteousness, “What makes you think I want to turn” he growled.

“Seek me out you did. Want me to help you, you do” Yoda said.

Obi-wan moved closer and glared at Yoda, holding his sabre out. “Seek you out I did to Kill you. You cannot help me!” he said rage evident in his eyes. “I ought to kill you right where you stand! he yelled.
