Qui-Gon, Qui-Gon, Qui-Gon

shame_on_you shame_on_you shame_on_you shame_on_you

Going back to your sulking ways will not make Sian any less annoying...at least I hope not! tongue

No one, from the youngest crècheling to the most experienced Master, likes to be called in front of the little green one for an infraction.

I can't imagine why not. Yoda is such a old softie.... tongue

I loved Sian's plans for the misguided Xanatos.

Great update

It’s not like he can actually get away from me, is it?

I surely hope not. mischief

I suspect he locked me in the cabin only to annoy me.

It worked.

Better be careful, Qui-Gon, an annoyed Sian could be even more annoying that just Sian. tongue

Depending on what Sina does to him, I would not put it past Qui-Gon, not to talkt to him during the treaty negotiations.
It would be very interesting to watch, too. grin

Great characterisation of Qui-Gon. Too bad that being a good person does not mean you're a happy Jedi; good one, sure, but happy? sad

I like how the sympathetic side of Sian is coming out in this update -- he's protective about Qui-gon! lol I thought that was cute. I will echo several other readers, and say that I also liked the characterization you put it here; not just of Qui-gon, but of Xanatos too.

Thanks for the update!

Entry #27

We arrived on the planet where we’re supposed to negotiate a peace treaty of sorts. Which all sounds very well and good, and certainly within the expertise of two experienced Jedi.

Two factors are hindering our progress.

One, and quite to my astonishment, Jinn gave me the silent treatment during the remainder of our journey here. Jinn the Grim (he doesn’t show much appreciation for my wit when I call him by the new nickname either!) has shown quite a commitment to maintaining his sulk. It’s been bordering on the absurd. Not that either of us is a real stranger to the ridiculous, but one always hopes that with age comes wisdom.

Apparently, some of us are going to hope in vain.

Anyway, upon our arrival it became apparent that Jinn’s foul temper would not be the only thing standing in the way of accomplishing our goals. We discovered that most of those who would be aiding us during the process have come down with a nasty intestinal illness.

It manifests itself suddenly with a horrific bout of nausea and only gets more exciting from there. It struck most of the government lackey types, which should mean things are running more efficiently. Still, that means there’s no one around to fill out all those useless forms in triplicate, so we’re at a standstill.

We’re here and have nothing to do but stare at each other. In a sincere effort to keep us healthy, they’ve sort of quarantined us in a single, small suite.

We might not get whatever illness is currently making the rounds, but I’d be unwilling to accept odds that we won’t kill each other. What an ignominious end for a Jedi if we do!

Qui-Gon is currently acting as if I’m a piece of not particularly interesting furniture. I know I’m in a hoverchair, but that doesn’t mean I’ve become one.

Apparently, he’s still pouting.

Later:

I suppose that their efforts to spare us are in vain. Qui-Gon has spent the last hour kneeling on the ‘fresher floor and re-examining the contents of his stomach. Doesn’t sound like much fun from here.

I, however, feel quite well. It would be rather unfair of me to take advantage of him in his compromised state, I suppose.

I’m not sure that will stop me, but it will make me hesitate at least.

And isn’t it the thought that counts?

Evidently Jedi share the trait that all males do with pouting. Even my kitten pouts when he's mad or upset tongue

Saved this for a treat for after I broke 20k tonight and man am I glad I did. I really needed the laugh and Sian's always good for one grin Jinn the Grim indeed tongue laugh and horrible of him to think of taking advantage of Qui when he's ill tongue

Awwww...poor Qui-Gon! hugs hugs hugs

First he looses Xanatos, then he has a most stubborn friend determined to get him to open up about it, then he has to deal with a hangover, then he gets quarantined with said friend and now he's sick.

I hope he somehow manages to survive.

It would be rather unfair of me to take advantage of him in his compromised state, I suppose.

But that's not going to stop you, is it Sian? tongue

I'm beginning to feel bad for poor Qui-Gon.

Hee, first they are locked together in the ship and now in the apartment. Come on Qui-Gon, realize it's a nudge of the Force when it comes that obvious. tongue

Entry #28

Yes, it seems that Qui-Gon, for all his bulk, has been unable to fight off the illness that is currently making the rounds through the population here. Oddly, I’ve felt fine the entire time, if a little uneasy at the sound of him trying to vomit up his toes every hour on the hour.

I finally took some pity on him and half dragged/half carried his carcass into his cabin (thank the Force for the traction on my hoverchair!) where I thoughtfully provided a trashbin for his hourly need to purge. He didn’t say thank you, but I let it slide in the circumstances.

He did open his eyes (or rather one eye) and the look was similar to the ones I’ve gotten from him when we’ve over-indulged in one fermented fruit juice or another. “I’m drying…” he announced.

Yes, DRYING.

I didn’t misspell it.

So that means either one of two things. Either he was damp and now he’s in the process of drying out OR he’s so sick that he’s a bit befuddled.

Just in case it’s the second one, I’ve contacted a medic here and they just sent over some supplies. Apparently this thing must simply run its course. So far there have been no fatalities, but I certainly don’t want Qui to be the first.

The thought of the paperwork involved makes me shudder.

So I guess I’ll sit here beside his bed and mop his brow, try to force liquids into him, and say all those things that the healers say to soothe their patients. I’ll say things like “It’s for your own good” and “Hold still or this will really hurt!” And “Don’t whine.” All the usual stuff they say to me.

It will make him feel at home, since he’s probably the only being I know in the Order who has spent more time in the Healers’ Ward than I have.

Of course the last time I was there I tried to steal a kiss from a particularly cute Healer. I’m still a man, you know, no matter that I’m a Jedi or that my legs don’t work. But if Qui-Gon tries that, I’m afraid I’m going to have to deck him. Who knows how out of his head he is?

Don’t forget, he’s DRYING.

I admit that he does look a bit pitiful sprawled out on the bed in his leggings, a very wrinkled tunic, and one gigantic boot. I was able to remove his left boot but then he flopped over the side of the bed and began retching again. I admit that the sound makes my own stomach do some flips of its own, so I left him alone for a moment, pretending I had to get something.

I’ll get that other boot off later when I see he’s getting ready to fall asleep again.

It’s really annoying that he would get truly sick…just when I have so many wonderful tricks up my sleeve.

I suppose that patience is a virtue. But like most other virtues, patience is rather boring.
