I join the choir: what´s the matter with Obi-Wan? Is he maybe thinking aloud without noticing it? And why does Qui-Gon behave so harshly?
“I would not bring my personal unrest into a mission. I would not disparage the faith of an entire race. And I certainly wouldn’t do so in an attempt to ‘lash out’ at you, my Master. When have you ever known me to do any such thing?”
Really, seems unfair
Nice update!

Wow. Just wow.
Qui-Gon’s face was a wall, closing in on Obi-Wan’s mind, staring through him even in the solitary darkness of the cabin.
He lay in the middle of his slender bunk, arms behind his head. Sometimes he wondered why he even bothered speaking. Ultimately, it had a meager impact on his Master, if any. Well, maybe he wouldn’t bother now. Maybe he would take an oath of silence, or sew his mouth shut, or maybe he could ask Qui-Gon to cut out his tongue.
Because Qui-Gon needed so much time, so much space to say everything he wanted to say, there was no room for Obi-Wan to defend himself. So he wasn’t a Senior Padawan yet; he was still Jedi, wasn’t he? He still worked hard, didn’t he? Researching and studying and training, often to exhaustion?
But now it was obvious that wasn’t enough. Not for his Master. Nothing was ever enough.
My heart is breaking.

Whoa! That just went a totally different direction than I would have thought it would have gone (yes, I know that's kind of the point of writing )I must wonder if Obi-Wan is simply speaking his thoughts without realizing it, or if Qui-Gon's simply loosing it. Perhaps it's a touch of both. I'm looking forward to see what kind of trouble the duo finds themselves in next. Update soon! Thanks for the PM!
Take Care,

Obi-Wan really does seem to be a bit off with his mental grumbling. And Qui-Gon is a bit touchy about it, too.
LuvEwan posted: Obi-Wan felt himself wince. As much as he wanted Qui-Gon to tell him why his solo assignment was cancelled, he found he hated it being mentioned at all. There was an incinerator in his temples, ignited only by his failure to secure that chance at promotion. “I would not bring my personal unrest into a mission. I would not disparage the faith of an entire race. And I certainly wouldn’t do so in an attempt to ‘lash out’ at you, my Master. When have you ever known me to do any such thing?”
“Dishonesty has never been a vice of yours, Obi-Wan. That makes this situation far more disappointing.” Qui-Gon lowered his head a moment, finger beneath his lips, “You are prepared for a reprimand, but I haven’t one prepared for you. Yet. You’re dismissed to your cabin.”
Nothing is really agreeing with them at all. Their companionship has turned to indigestion. Is something brewing, especially with Obi-Wan? I wonder if this last planet didn't agree with them.

Oi! Please update, this is great stuff. I am dying to know what in the world is going on with Obi-wan or Qui-gon for that matter. It is so unlike him to act that way, I wonder what's up. Pretty please continue soon! And please put me on your PM. Thank you.

What . . . the heck.
Okay, at first I thought maybe Obi-Wan was being a little sullen, and deserved some chastisement. But this is . . . weird. Qui-Gon is being weird. It makes me unsettled. Qui-Gon isn't supposed to be weird. He's supposed to be cuddly. I feel almost as worried as Obi-Wan, I think. Poor kid getting all of his insecurities roused again--they never do really go away, do they? It makes me really, really hope you write more on this soon.
As always, LE, your writing draws me in and fastens me to the stories and emotions being played out. I'm right there with Obi-Wan, seeing and tasting and hearing and feeling. O my goodness, so much feeling. I ache for him all the time in your stuff. These plots are the most fascinating and the heart-wrenching, when the conflict for Qui and Obi is not from without, but between them. The universe is tilted askew when they are not together, completely in harmony. Tilt the universe back, please!
Also loved the culture on the planet, their respect for the Jedi and other beliefs, yet their tenacity and respect for their own traditions. Fasting is such a very spiritual thing, used in so many cultures, that I'm surprised the Jedi don't have their own version.
Oh, and the description! I had to get a drink of water--my mouth started feeling dry as dust. And nasty from "forest creatures" sleeping in it.
Want more!

Wow! Beautifully put!
Saw this back up topside and immediately pounced... only to find ... no update
All I can do is add my hopes to maychorian's ... that perhaps our author, or her Muse, will be tempted.
