it would be so much easier if there were more Jedi with us
Indeed it would.
I fear the tribe elders are way too confident in their abilities.
Great update

Fel_Freak228: Thanks, Felf. I'm glad you like it.
Blue_Lightsaber42: If I can pull it off, you'll soon see why you have a bad feeling. Thank you.
Trika_Kenobi: So long as no random plotbunnies come to life, I think you'll like it, or at least where it leads.
KELIA: Waaay too confident. It'll lead them nowhere but trouble. Thanks.
jedidas3: I like writing a little too much. It distracts me from school work sometimes(a lot of the time), but hey, most of these posts were written when I should have been doing school work. Thank you very much.

*****(())*****
The Next Day
*****(())*****
I’ve been awake all night moving from station to station, doing nothing but show them simple surveillance techniques I’ve picked up during my training. It’s mind numbing and irksome, having to repeat myself fifteen times. Evia’s been standing guard at the hut where all the Masters have gathered (which I find to be very unintelligent for them to be in one place), so I’m on my own.
One thing that’s really been worrying me is the growing dark presence I’ve been sensing. Evia senses it as well, but doesn’t seem to be very surprised. Frankly, I’m not surprised either since we passed two old Sith temples on our way here, and I think there may be one within the city. Once dawn arrives I’ll do my best to find any info I can.
*****(())*****
Ten Hours Later
*****(())*****
Even when they’re away from their own soil, these tribes continue in their day to day life. The Masters and Elders are constantly in meetings, the guards and warriors stand watch, train, and prepare for whatever we may be facing.
The children have all gathered in any area they can and study together. One of those areas is where I found the most information that I’ve found on this trip so far. A young teen(her name is Chanise) saw me standing in the background and came over to talk with me. I asked some questions and recorded her answers to listen or read later. I’ll copy in some of it.
Me: What have you been told about the deaths of the Masters?
Chanise: My mother and teachers say that the Biek Zvolk came and took them away. I don’t believe in kid stuff like that anymore, though. That’s what they always say when they don’t have an answer.
Me: What is the Biek Zvolk?
Chanise: You mean who. The Biek Zvolk were a people group like us centuries ago, who supposedly still live to this day. They were started by one man who snuck into one of our tribes and killed all the children except for one boy whose body was never found. Supposedly the man took this boy and raised him as his own, and when the boy was old enough he repeated his “father’s” actions. They eventually left Kotumba and traveled to some planet that no one knows the name of, and grew in size that of the entire population of this planet 60% were of the Biek Zvolk.
Me: Sorry to interrupt, but how was the name of the Biek Zvolk discovered?
Chanise: It never was. “Biek Zvolk” in the old tongue that only the fossils of the Elders still remember and understand means “The Twelve." As the story goes, there was at one point twelve main members of the group when they created the most havoc.
Me: I see.
Chanise: Anyways, the Biek Zvolk had supposed “powers”. They used them to get whatever victim they were after next.
Me: I’m sorry. “Powers”. . .?
Chanise: The same powers that you Jedi have. You know, the ones that allow you to read other peoples minds, see things that aren’t there, fly. . .
Me: We don’t fly, Chanise.
Chanise: Tell that to the Elders. With these powers that the Biek Zvolk had, they made themselves a reputation that spread throughout most of the Outer Rim. They are tied in and blamed for almost any mysterious death.
Me: Are all those temples that I have seen theirs?
Chanise: I don’t really know. I think they were used by the Biek Zvolk at one time or another, but I don’t know their origin.
That answered some questions I had, but only opened some new ones. If the Biek Zvolk are involved and have “powers," which they could have only learned from a Sith, then what we are dealing with is a lot more difficult then I first had hoped.

And the plot thickens! An interesting twist to the story! This sounds like it's a very serious threat to both the elders and the Jedi there, so, of course, I'm curious to see what happens next!
Thanks for the update! Wonderful job.

As well it should.
they could have only learned from a Sith, then what we are dealing with is a lot more difficult then I first had hoped.
And that's how it usually turns out.
I just hope she has trained the tribes to be prepared enough
Great update

Sorry I got a bit behind, but I'm all caught up now.
The mystery is building even more, I really am curious now as to where you're taking us.
Really quite intriguing, this dark presence, the dead Masters, the tribe meetings and everything, I usually like to try and speculate what will happen next, but I'm honestly not sure, with this mystery. It could go so many different ways.
Keep up the great work!

Trika_Kenobi: Thank you! The threat just might affect others beside them. . . I'm getting way ahead of myself. You'll just have to see where it goes.
KELIA: Nobody is prepared for a Sith encounter, I don't think. Thanks for reading.
Jinngerbread: That's fine, I'm forever behind in one fanfic or another, it always seems everyone decides to update when you're away! I know how it is. You can't figure out where it's going? Yay! That's somewhat what I was hoping for! Thanks for reading!
I've been away a lot with one thing or another with anything ranging from a sudden memorial service to an extended vacation. I'll update as soon as I get home from this next trip though. Thanks to everyone who continues to read!

Here's the next part, and I already have most of the part after this written, so I hope to post as often as I can before I leave on my last trip of the summer. After that, I'll have plenty of time to write, so beware.
Oh yeah, my friend who normally betas for me is busy, so I went over this myself which means there's probably a million and one mistakes still in there.
*****(())*****
Two Days Later
*****(())*****
So far, absolutely nothing has happened. No new information gained, no people lost. I suppose that's a good thing, but I feel guilty for walking around bored. The only thing even remotely worthy of writing down is yesterday I took the guards out away from the settlement and ran them through a few drills I knew of. I'm confident in their skills they knew before me, but they didn't even know how to properly set up a watch. Their battle skills are impressive, but compared to those who I think we will be dealing with. . . I'm really nervous.
If nothing happens in two days and the coast appears to be clear, Evia and I agreed that the children should all be smuggled away to a safer location. The more time that passes allows more and more plans to be made. For both sides, though. Chanise doesn't act worried as she should, in fact, none of them do. They act as if this is a vacation and not running for safety, which makes our jobs even more difficult. Without the slightest sense of paranoia, the general population won't cooperate as easily. At first it seemed they were worried, but not any more. Why does it seem as if they know something we don't?
*****(())*****
Three Hours Later
*****(())*****
After a long discussion, Evia and I have decided to go out and look for the killers ourselves instead of sitting around and waiting. Only I am to remain here babysitting these people while she goes to the surrounding land for any sign of life. She gave me permission to leave the settlement borders if need be, which I hope is the case. Sitting around doing virtually nothing is starting to drive me crazy. Maybe I should go back to one of the 'schools' and see if any of the kids know of any points of interest around here. Even the most simple thing could go a long way at the moment.
Evia just left now, and I can't help but think about the visions. Will she come back alright? Will I see her alive again?
That's my paranoia talking, but I can't help it. It's just so worrisome.
*****(())*****
That Evening
*****(())*****
I was just alerted that three leaders were found dead. That's a step up in the government. There's one Master for each of the twenty-four tribes, a Leader for each of the twelve cities, and one High Ruler for the entire planet.
There has to be a pattern here. Not all the Masters were killed before they moved on to the Leaders. I like to think that our moving into one area might have helped, but I sincerely doubt it. If anything, it would be easier for Masters to be killed since they could all be found in one area. I called Evia to let her know, and she placed a call to the Temple. This is starting to get too big for us to handle ourselves.

I finally have time to actually write! I had hoped to update before this point, but after my last trip my parents surprised me when they said "By the way, we're going camping in three days." Well now. There goes my time to write. But anyways, I will definitely update this week, if not more then once.
Trika_Kenobi: Yep, and possibly some drama coming too.
KELIA: Yeah, this really isn't an easy mission for her at all.
jedidas3: Sorry about that, I've been away too often this summer to write as often as I would like. I have all this week to write, though, so we'll see what gets done.
I wanted to quickly say thank you to everyone who still reads this, even with my weird updating. And also thanks to anyone who nominated me for Best New Author. Just being simply nominated for that was more then I could ask for, so thanks.
