It was early in the morning and D'Shan was still asleep as light began creeping into the cave where they had stayed. Thane had been awake for a while now and she was sipping a mug of caff as she watched him sleep. The blanket had slipped off revealing the large X shaped scar on his back and Thane was thinking about how cute he looked as he sucked his thumb. She smiled to herself and sipped her caff.
There was movement in the entrance of the cave caught her attention and she looked up. A large and imposing man stood there, silhouetted against the light outside. She was about to reach for her lightsabre when she realised who it was. "What do you want?" she demanded as she settled back down. She picked up a long stick and poked the fire into life as the man walked over.
His hands and forearms were mechanical and there was a mass of scaring where the flesh met the metal. The scars zigzagged up to the shoulders in a vague lattice. His face was harsh and cruel, slightly disfigured by some scarring. He wore a sleeveless tunic and robes and a pair of simple black trousers. He stopped when he got to D'Shan and he looked down at the sleeping Jedi. "So, this is the Jedi." His voice was a mechanical growl.
Thane finished her caff and set her mug aside. "What do you want?"
The man looked at her. "I came to see the choice you'd made."
"What do you mean? What choice?" She looked at him curiously, her hand straying towards her sabre.
"The choice between them and us," he replied. "Either you would kill him and stay with us or you would keep him from us and go back to them." He saw her hand moving towards her weapon. "You needn't worry. I'm not here to kill you. If I wanted you dead I could have killed you countless times before."
"Then what do you want?"
"You'll see, in time. But for now, I want nothing from you."
Thane stood up. "If you don't want anything and you're not going to kill us, then why are you here?"
"If you intend to return to them you'll need a ship. There's one not far from here. It's guarded by my weakest men. A blind cripple could defeat them." He smiled, but it was not a pleasant smile.
"You're letting us go? Why would you do that?" Thane narrowed her eyes to slits, not trusting the man.
"I have . . . plans for you. Besides, your journey back will not be smooth. They know you are Sith and they won't trust you, and when you approach in an armed Sith fighter they'll need excuses not to shoot you down." Thane was about to speak when the man held up a hand, "search your feelings, you'll know this to be true."
He turned to leave but Thane stopped him. "Why not kill us now?"
He looked over his scarred shoulder, "like I said, I have plans for you. And you know the old adage, once a Sith . . ." He trailed off and walked away.
When he was gone, Thane let out a long sigh as she sat down. D'Shan stirred in his sleep and she knew he would be awake soon. She settled by the fire and began making some caff. She was lost in thought when D'Shan woke and sleepily said "that smells good."
She looked up and smiled at him. "I thought you'd like to wake up to some nice hot caff." She filled a mug with the hot liquid and handed it to him. He accepted it gratefully and sat huddled in the blanket as he drank it.
After a few sips he looked up at her, "couldn't sleep?"
She looked into the fire, "something like that." She filled her own mug with caff and took a sip. She sighed and looked up at him. "I did a little scouting while you were asleep. There's a ship not far from here. There weren't many guards around it either. I think we have a good chance of taking it."
D'Shan nodded and took a long sip. "Is it armed?"
"It looked like it was, but I couldn't tell you what with." She sipped her caff. "I did try and get close enough to see but I couldn't, sorry. I know what you are like about flying unarmed craft."
He smiled at her, "thanks." He looked into her eyes, they had returned to their original colour. "When do you think we should take it?"
"I was thinking after breakfast." Her stomach growled in agreement. She blushed and hid her face behind her mug.
D'Shan laughed quietly but pleasantly. "That sounds like a good idea."
***
It was noon when they left the cave. The sun was high in the sky and everything was brightly lit. A dozen guards surrounded the larger fighter. They didn't notice Thane or D'Shan until it was almost too late.
It didn't take long for them to defeat all the guards, though it took a bit of effort for D'Shan to ignore the colour of Thane's lightsabre as it glowed red.
When the last guard fell they boarded the fighter. It was all in working order and they did a quick pre-flight check.
D'Shan looked at Thane as she checked the various instruments and controls. "Have you flown one of these?"
"Nope," said Thane as she made a mental note of one read out. "I was top of my class when it came to flying though so this should be a piece of cake." She checked a few last things and prepped the craft for take off. She looked at him and smiled reassuringly. "Relax. I'll get us home safely."

I love watching the changing relationship between these two. You've created some interesting and complex OCs here.

OH EM GEE! I've updated it!
Thane watched the meteor as it passed within arms reach above her head. Had there not been a canopy in between she probably would have reached out to touch it. As it was she had other things that her hands needed to be doing, this was mainly controlling the training fighter that she was flying.
She kept the controls held back and the fighter flew round the meteor until she was facing the way she had come. She levelled out and rolled the fighter to avoid a smaller meteor that was going slower than she was.
Up ahead she could see a large meteor slowly spinning. It was blocking her way and it would have been too hard to fly around it. She eased her fingers onto the triggers and took careful aim at it.
Though it was only a training fighter it was still armed. The guns fired blank ammunition, it would leave a stain on anything that was hit but it wouldn't do any damage. They still could pack a punch though, and it was this that Thane had counted on.
The stream of gunfire struck the meteor where she had guessed it was at its thinnest. The meteor started to spin slowly in the right direction and a gap opened up. It wasn't quite wide enough and all Thane could do was hold down the trigger and hope.
She cringed as a grinding noise filled the cockpit. She had managed to squeeze through the gap but her fighter was damaged. She did a quick check and found that there was no damage to any of the vital systems, it was mostly cosmetic.
Thane sighed with relief and obeyed the order to return to base.
***
It was at times like this that Thane was glad she could fly. They were picked up on the Academy's long range sensors and fighters had been dispatched to intercept. It took all her skill to avoid being shot down and all of D'Shan's insistence to not return fire.
The fighter shook as it was hit a few more times. It was clear to both that they were not going get an easy landing when they got to the surface. They still had to get to the planet, and that was looking less likely.
Thane rolled and twisted the fighter and a burst of tracer fire zipped past the canopy. She looked at D'Shan. "We're not going to last much longer. I have a plan but it will make landing a lot harder."
"If we get the chance to land then that's better than not landing at all. Do it, and do it quickly."
Thane nodded and looked at the controls. She flicked a few switches and pressed a few button. There was an explosion and the fighter rocked forward with a bust of speed.
The planet was getting bigger now, and a lot more quickly. She angled the fighter and the air around it glowed red as they entered the atmosphere. She looked at the sensor readings as she tried to find a place to land. She found what she was looking for and she wrenched at the controls once they were in the atmosphere.
They were now headed towards a large area of forest. The trees were tall and things. "Brace yourself" was all Thane could say before they starting hitting the trees.
The trees snapped easily as that fighter hit them and the impact slowed the down. The fighter tumbled and turned from the impacts and, after what seemed like an age, it finally came to rest.
Miraculously neither Thane nor D'Shan were hurt in the crash and they both hurried out of the wrecked fighter. They ran away from it as fast as they could and were at a safe distance when it exploded. There was still enough force to throw them to the ground. They lay there panting. It was all they could do.
They weren't sure how long they had lain there for but they soon heard movement as a large group of people came towards them. The group stopped just short of them and several lightsabres ignited. One of them, presumably the leader, spoke into a comm device "we found them."

RE: Things Found (OCs) (updated 30/07/2008)

I'm really sorry about the long delay, but here it is, the last part of 'Things Found'!!
"She must face a trial." It was Windu who said this as he sat at the Jedi Council. "We must determine whether she has truly changed or whether she is still one of them.
"Been with them too long, she has. Trained in the ways of the Dark Side, she is." Yoda tapped the top of his Gimer stick thoughtfully. "A result of your actions, her return is. Agree, do you not, Master Qui-Gon?"
Jinn nodded. "Quite so, though I feel that with the correct guidance she won't cause any problems."
"Know of someone suitable, do you?"
Jinn nodded again. "I do. His name is Keyan D'Shan. He was the one that brought her back. They have a strong relationship, strong enough to keep her from the Dark Side. As for the trial, I think I have an idea."
***
Thane could hear the sounds of battle far away. They were getting louder as she hurried towards it. This was probably the weirdest mission she had been assigned. On the battlefield was a Sith device. It both stored a large amount of information and gave strength to the Sith. If it was activated the strength of the Sith would grow and they would win. If the device was destroyed then the Sith would lose much of their strength and a victory for the Jedi was assured.
She hurried on with her lightsabre in her hand, though the blade had not been ignited. It wasn't long before she could see the battle, and it was shortly after that she could make out individuals, and then the device she was looking for.
She came to a halt just in front of it, a small distance from the fight itself. It didn't look dangerous, yet she knew it was. She ignited her sabre and raised it to strike.
She faltered, lowering her weapon. The device did contain a lot of information and knowledge, and it would be lost forever if it were to be destroyed.
She raised her weapon once more, but again she could not bring herself to destroy it.
She looked up at the fight going on. She looked from the battle to the device, and then back at the battle. Her mind was made up and she raised her lightsabre. Her eyes glowed orange-red as she charged.
She swerved as she reached the fighters, swinging her lightsabre with grace, slicing through two Sith. She continued on, swinging her blade as she twisted and turned. At times she came close to hitting a Jedi or two but the blade never made contact with any of them, her blade was always snatched away at the last moment.
As she reached the other side of the battle she spun round and skidded to a halt, facing the way she came. She stopped in a low crouch with her lightsabre raised high behind her back ready for another run.
The fighting stopped and the figures flickered and vanished. She straightened up and put her lightsabre away.
The whole scene had been watched by the Council via holo-cams. Yoda spoke first. "Destroy the device she, did not. Failed the trial, she has."
Jinn stroked his beard thoughtfully. "I'm not so sure. It's true she didn't destroy it, but she didn't activate it either. Instead she chose to join in the fight against the Sith."
"A good point, you make."
Windu spoke up. "The trial was to determine which side she is on. As it is not clear she should be called upon to explain her motives."
There was a murmur of agreement from the other Jedi and Thane was sent for. Within a short amount of time she was standing before them.
"You have been called here to explain your actions during the trial," said Windu over his tented fingers. "You were told that destroying the device would assure victory for the Jedi, yet you left it intact. Why?"
"The knowledge." She noted the looks she got and hastily furthered her explanation. "It would have been lost forever. What the device contained could be used against them, and it may contain knowledge that would be useful for the Jedi as well."
"Put at risk the lives of Jedi for forbidden knowledge you would? Embrace the ways of the Dark Side you would?"
"All knowledge is without value, what one chooses to do with it isn't. For example, I can do this." Thane raised her right hand in a claw, lightening crackled briefly between her finger tips. "I know how to do that and more, yet I don't for it is not the Jedi way. You see, knowing is not the same as doing."
"Wouldn't knowledge of these powers lead to temptation to use them?" asked Jin.
"It could, but it could also help counter and defend against them," returned Thane. "I know how to make lightening, and in knowing this I also know how I can protect myself from it."
The Council members exchanged glances with each other, and then Jinn spoke up. "Can you wait outside, please?"
Thane nodded and walked out. When the door closed she leant against a nearby wall and sighed. She closed her eyes and waited. She wasn't sure for how long but she heard footsteps approaching. She looked up and saw D'Shan walking towards her.
"How is it going?" he asked, looking genuinely concerned.
Than shrugged. "It's hard to tell." She was about to say more when the door opened and they were summoned inside. When standing in front of the Council it's hard not to be slightly nervous, especially when your life is on the line.
Windu had taken the role of Council representative and it was he who spoke. "Kavra Thane, do you hold all knowledge sacred and seek to preserve it?"
Thane hesitated briefly before saying "yes" with a nod.
Windu continued, "Keyan D'Shan, do you love Kavra Thane and will you do all that is in your power to stop her falling to the Dark Side again?"
D'Shan looked at Thane and smiled. "Yes."
They Council members looked at each other and nodded. "Then it is the will of the Council that you, Kavra Thane, shall be assigned to the Jedi Archives and that your lightsabre will be removed. Keyan D'Shan, you will be assigned as her keeper and her guardian. Have you got any questions?" D'Shan and Thane shook there heads. "In that case you will report to the Archives first thing in the morning. D'Shan, your lightsabre will be returned to in the morning. You may both leave."
D'Shan and Thane turned and walked out. The door had barely closed behind them when they sighed with relief and slipped their arms around each other. They held on tight, enjoying the warmth of the other.
"I'm so glad that's over," said Thane as she rested her head on D'Shan's shoulder.
"Me too," said D'Shan as he stroked her hair. "Me too."
