Still smiling Siri Tachi was walking to the changing rooms with her master Adi Gallia. She had been sparring with Obi-Wan and had won.
She had won and it had been very funny.
She almost doubled over with laughter as she remembered that ‘Obi-Wan and that fifth Kata of Ataru. He started to make that jump and half way sailing over my head his utility belt came of. Wanting to catch that he dropped his lightsaber and I could touch his neck and he signalled his defeat. Yeah Kenobi your utility belt needs some repairs, or better your 24th birthday is coming and I will get you a new one.’
Master Adi Gallia asked “nice thoughts?”
Siri answered “yes, you have seen that mishap from Obi-Wan and that gives me the perfect opportunity to give him a birthday present.”
Adi Gallia said “he will like that and seeing that you have no lessons today anymore we are free to go shopping. Master Eeth Koth has given me an address in the vicinity of the temple.”
Siri said “I know that address. Obi-Wan’s old belt came from Keara’s leather-ware. He got it from Qui-Gon when he was 16 years old.”

In a little shop in the rural district that surrounded the Jeditemple was a mother known only by the name Keara at work. She had a son who would be home soon. Kevin was her great joy ad he was excellent at his studies. He wanted to become a doctor but that would take almost all of her earnings.
They had been living there for 10 years now and the mother was still thankful for the master that had bought her free from Gardulla the Hutt on Tatooine.
Before that she had been living with her mother in the slave-quarters of Mos Espa, property of one of merchants. Her mother was a seamstress and she had died after a raid by slavers.
Keara was sold to Gardulla as a three year old. At Gardulla’s slave-quarters Keara had been a seamstress from the day her little fingers could hold a needle and she had to make the new leather belts and garments worn by the dancers. Keara loved that work. She didn’t love the two other human slaves taking advantage of her but she was too weak to resist. She was only a little girl.
She was pregnant when her new master bought her. Her new master had brought her to a hospital to be given first class medical attention when she was in labour and gave birth to a boy, Kevin.
Upon returning a nice room had been given to her for the baby and he had given her all she needed. She had stayed with her master for two years and he gave her a good education and the credits to go and make a living of her own.
With the credits given to her by her master she could buy a little shop on Coruscant from an old man who was a supplier of the Jeditemple and who was retiring. She inherited the models and she continued his work.
She could earn a living for her son and herself but with increasing prices for the leather it was getting more and more difficult. But she was famous for the leather belts she made.
She was applying the finishing touches to a chestnut brown one.
Kevin was returning from school and said “hey mom, making a Jedi utility belt again?”
Keara said “yes, the Jedi Knights like them and every one comes back after they have bought their first one here.”
Kevin hugged her and said “I can go next year to Coruscant Med university school. I graded top in my last exam.”
Keara said “that’s great. But I have to work hard.”
Kevin said “yes, no more holiday-trips. I know mom. Hey two Jedi Knights.”
A regal looking woman had entered the shop with a blonde haired girl. The woman said “I have heard your conversation and I think I have a solution to that little problem. You can become the official supplier of leather-ware for all the Jedi and we can give you each month the same amount of credits.”
Keara began to smile and asked “is this possible?”
Adi Gallia said “I have seen your work and my apprentice wants to buy a present for a friend. He needs a new utility belt. The old one was 8 years old and also bought here.”
Kevin said “mom was finishing one when I came back from school.”
Keara went to her worktable and came back with the shining new utility belt and she gave it to the young woman.
Siri said “this is perfect. Obi-Wan will love it. Can you put a name in it?”
Keara said “of course. Come”
Siri followed her and at her instructions a name was put on the smooth inside of the belt.
Keara wrapped the belt in gift paper and gave it to Siri.
Siri saw another item and she said “and that pouch, I like that too.”
Siri came back with Keara and showed her master the two packages.
Adi Gallia said “for who is that little package?”
Siri answered “also for Obi-Wan and he will get that the next time I defeat him in Lightsaber-combat.”
Adi Gallia smiled ‘Siri had her way of giving Obi-Wan a reminder that he had lost. It would be good for said Padawan who liked to tease Siri. Yes those two were becoming great Jedi Knights showing compassion and selfless love.’
Adi Gallia said “Keara, I have to go back and I will make arrangements.”
Keara said “this has become one of the greatest days in my life after that one where I was bought free from slavery. Thank you master Jedi.”
Adi Gallia said with a smile forming on her face “be prepared for the next requests” and she left with Siri who was carrying the two packages.
Keara and Kevin saw the two Jedi exiting the shop and Keara hugged Kevin.
Kevin said “mom, our future is looking bright. I know I can become a great doctor and after I have become one I can travel to any place I like and I will take you with me.”
Keara said “come, we have to eat and after that it is bedtime because little doctors need both to become big doctors.”
After diner Keara went to her son and covered him with the worn comforter.
She began to sing a song from her youth when she still had a mother

And let the moons

Two angels
Two knights
The future is clear
The future is bright
Two Jedi
Have made a difference today

That's a nice little piece. I like how you combined two stories to make a difference in each other.
Keara has to be a compassionate and loving woman to have her child after experiences like the ones she's had. And she clearly cares for Kevin greatly to give all she has to help him get the future he hopes for.  Then he'll have a chance to support her in turn.

Awww....that was so sweet.
How wonderful Keara and Kevin are now free from slavery and I loved her solution to send him to medical school.
I enjoyed the tie-in with Siri as well.
