Loved it. I concur that you have the SG-1 characters down perfectly. Especially O'Neill. applause

I didn't know Teal'c was offically a Star Wars fan laugh I love Star Gate but unfortunately haven't seen more than a handful of episodes from the first two series. Dang!

Any hoo, please please update soon. We need to find out what's going to happen next! I still can't wait to see how SG-1 will react when they meet Qui and Obi.

Good job! grin

Hee, this continues to delight me. You've got Jack's voice down-pat, and I'm loving his interaction with Kyran. And the 'most realistic sci-fi convention' part made me crack up. laugh

But, agh, a cliffhanger! I'm eagerly looking forward to the next bit, and I hope it won't be a long time in coming!

Great job. grin

Haha! Poor Jack making a bad first impression with a Jedi. It sort of looks like they have similar tendencies toward sarcasm, so they clash a bit. But in a very amusing way. mischief

It's a good thing for Jack that Teal'c has seen Star Wars 9 times. grin That could come in handy.

Mixing Stargate and Star Wars is a fantastic idea. Some crossovers just don't fit but these two were made for each other. A great start!

Gkilkenny: I think that's why we love O'Neill so much -- his relative Jerkitude(TM) It's always good when we can give someone a giggle!

p_stotts: Glad you like it! Think of the cliffhangers as commercial breaks.....that go on for about a week. wink

Sabriel_Orion: It's a marketing ploy. If we left off someplace satisfactory, people might not come back to read. New one's coming soon, so enjoy!

Alexis_Wingstar: Psuedo-technojargon is O'Neill's specialty. I'm glad we're capturing the essence of the characters. It can be difficult at times..... Got you added to the PMs.....

wolf_kenobi: I'm seeing a trend, here... Everyone loves O'Neill.....hey, that'd be a good idea for a TV sitcom..... More is on its way!

Chloris: *bows* We are but your humble servants. Plus the voices in our heads told us that's how SG-1 would react to Jedi types.... wink

Glenstorm: Yeah, I forget which episode it is, but Jack and Teal'c go to visit....Daniel, I think? It's been a while. And they bring over the entire SW collection with the intention of watching them all. That's where we find out that Teal'c totally digs SW. He's so deadpan all the time, though..... Thanks, and keep your eyes peeled. More fun to come!

Star-Foozle: Thanks for the input. Glad you're enjoying it! We has teh flavr!

ardavenport: Yep, Kyran + Jack = C4 + Detonator! The potential for exploding is there, but being responsible adults, they won't let it get to that point..... probably. grin And yes, Teal'c's extensive knowledge of SW things should come in quite handy at some point.

sidious618: Thank you! It was one of those ideas that required a little experimentation before we figured out we could justify it. Now that we have, we're running with it.... wink

Thanks, everyone, for reading and keeping up with us! There are cookies and refreshments in your browsers. The next screening will be sometime today. happy

Chapter Two

Carter watched the figure who was inching his way cautiously down the dune toward them. O'Neill, on the other hand, regarded the Jedi for a moment longer. "You know anything about him?" he asked, jerking his chin in the direction of the now-approaching man.

Kyran shook his head. "No. I've only been to Tatooine one other time before."

"Tatooine," Jack repeated sullenly. "Why'd it have to be Tatooine?" He ignored Teal'c's snort of derision. The figure was coming closer, and Carter was visibly agitated now. Jack knew what she was sensing -- this man, whoever he was, had a symbiote. Still, he wanted to be absolutely sure. "Carter, he's got a snake in his head, right?"

Sam nodded, not taking her eyes or her Zat off the man as he neared.

"What does that mean ?" Kyran asked. "I take it you have run into people like this before?

Teal'c answered this time. "They are called Goa'uld, Kyran Josel. A race of parasites that take human -- and humanoid -- hosts, controlling every action they take and every word they speak. They are evil."

Kyran shivered a little at the idea. "I've never even heard of them. " These people were coming up with stranger and stranger things. "I wonder if there is information in them in the archives," he mused, almost to himself.

"They are not from your galaxy, Kyran Josel. They are from ours. Even the Goa'uld have not perfected intergalactic travel," Teal'c told him.

They all fell silent. The man stood before them, panting in the hot sun. His hair was long, matted and dirty. Sand coated his skin, and his clothes were tattered and stained. They had been fine once, long ago, made of richly colored, heavy fabrics. He eyed the five of them; the weapons trained on him, and took a deep breath. "Oh, thank goodness someone finally arrived," he gasped.

The man caught sight of Teal'c and his eyes widened. "Apophis sent you?" he demanded, swallowing hard, but holding his ground.

Teal'c frowned. How could this one not know that he was no longer a servant of the Goa'uld Apophis? Every other being in the galaxy seemed to know it; they called him shol'va -- traitor. But Teal'c knew it wasn't a crime to betray a false god. He glanced at the rest of the team, who looked as puzzled as he.

O'Neill finally decided to break the silence. "Who are you?"

The raggedy man eyed the group with a touch of his former imperiousness. "I am called Atum," he said simply.

O'Neill glanced at Jackson meaningfully. Daniel thought for a moment, searching his vast mental store of Egyptian lore for the reference. "Atum was the creator-god of the Egyptians, at least in some areas. The father of the gods, if you will."

"Oh, ok. God-Father. Great," O'Neill said. "So where are his, you know....Jaffa, slaves, anything? He should have a mothership, too, shouldn't he? Somewhere around here? Hey, buddy, did you bury your spaceship in the sand?"

Atum could tell the man was getting impatient with him. He glanced at the others, trying to figure out what would serve him best in this situation. He hadn't counted on a Jaffa being around, let alone one who was marked as Apophis' First Prime. His gaze settled on the blond woman, the only other with naquadah in her blood. She carried herself like a footsoldier, not a queen, as should have befitted her. Then he recalled the stories he'd heard, tales of renegade Goa'uld freedom fighters. They'd called themselves something.... Tok....Tok'ra. Against Ra. Quickly, a plan began to devise itself in his mind. He glanced around nervously, as if checking to see if anyone else was around, which they obviously weren't in this forsaken wasteland.

"I am," he ventured, "a Tok'ra spy. When I was discovered by the System Lords..... I was dumped here and exiled."

"He's lying," Kyran spoke up flatly. He could sense the deceit just as clearly as he could sense the other presence inside the man.

Atum shot the robed man a dark look, and then slowly returned his gaze to the other four. "I assure you, I am not being dishonest. Then again, I'm also the only one not in possession of a weapon."

O'Neill looked at the Goa'uld -- or Tok'ra -- thoughtfully. He didn't trust either race. They were the same species, and there was still no guarantee that the Tok'ra had anyone's best interests at heart, in spite of what Sam kept insisting. "Well, if you two would like to sort this out."

"Violence should be a last resort, Ambassador," Kyran really wasn't sure how to address the other. He had said he was part of a contact team though and that was ambassadorial work.

Jack cocked an eyebrow at him. "Actually, Dr. Jackson is more the ambassador sort. I'm the Colonel-ing sort. I give orders. Anyway, if you knew the Goa'uld like we do, I doubt you'd hesitate."

"Perhaps not, Colonel O'Neill," the Jedi replied, giving the reigns to him, tucking his arms into his robes.

The Goa'uld watched this interaction without comment. It was the same basic thing he'd been observing from afar. The robed man and the leader of this group, in conflict, each seeking a weakness in the other. They had many weaknesses, both of them. But the robed one....there was something about him. His own race called them hak'taur, advanced. And the humans.....they were Tauri, if the strange markings on their clothes were any indication..... They knew many things that their race hadn't known when he'd been stranded on this desert world. It was a brand-new day, indeed. "Whether you believe me or not is irrelevant," he said, bringing their attention back to himself. "If you leave me here, I will surely die."

Kyran said nothing to that, as he had decided to step back from the conflict, unless he was needed. He glanced at Jack, wondering what smart thing he would say to that.

Teal'c and Jack exchanged glances. Neither of them particularly cared. Carter wasn't too thrilled with this stranger, but she was slightly more ready to believe his story about being Tok'ra. It was Jackson, however, who finally spoke up. "Y'know, Jack....why don't we take him back to SGC with us? We could easily get the truth out of him there. I mean, we could always call up Apophis....or maybe Ba'al... and see if they back his story up."

"That's probably the best solution we'll get under the circumstances," O'Neill glanced at the Jedi again. "Since he's unwilling to just skewer him and make an end of it."

Atum's went slightly pale at the mention of Apophis and Ba'al. Was it possible the Tauri now matched the System Lords in technological might and power? They had certainly grown much more violent in the last few hundred years. Perhaps it was better to simply come clean. He didn't care to come face-to-face with Apophis -- especially Apophis -- ever again. It was Apophis who had sentenced him to exile on this world, a fate worse than even death would have been. If only he had a way to get back at them... If only..... "Listen, whoever you are..... All right, I was not completely honest before. I was a System Lord. A long time ago. But I've had a lot of time -- alone -- to....consider certain things."

"I bet you have. Like lots of sand and more sand," O'Neill put in. He was less than impressed.

"Take me back through the Chappa'ai. I'll do whatever you want. Just..... don't reveal my presence to the System Lords." Atum managed, barely, to add a note of pleading to his tone.

"I don't think you're really being sincere," Jack replied with a small smirk. "That last line seemed a bit scripted."

Atum was growing impatient now. "I expect next you'll want me to beg?" he said with a sneer.

"I wouldn't object," Jack quipped.

The Goa'uld's eyes flashed white for the barest instant. The suns were sinking fast, and the air was even now cooling. He knew this desert like the back of his own hand, and it wasn't safe to be out at night. He wondered how to convince these insolent little people to activate the Chappa'ai, before it got dark. They wouldn't believe anything he said. But it was worth a try.

"It grows dark, Tauri. This desert is deadly at night. We must make haste and leave this place."

"He is right, it isn't safe here at night," Kyran said uneasily. He wondered how long they had before Tusken Raiders started coming out in force.

The low of a bantha echoed over the reddening landscape. Even Atum looked frightened. He'd tangled with the desert nomads before, and barely escaped with his life. Carter glanced at Jack. "Wanna see if we can dial out?" she asked

"Might as well," Jack agreed. He didn't like the idea particularly of being out on a Tatooine desert at night either.

Carter stepped to the DHD, mostly hidden beneath the sand, and started dialing.

"What about him?" she asked, jerking a thumb at the Goa'uld.

"We take him with us, it's our best bet for now as to find out if he's telling the truth," O'Neill commented.

Atum watched, his heart beating faster as the eighth symbol engaged and the Chappa'ai established a connection. But the blonde woman's face was strained.

"We better hurry!" she said. "Dialing between galaxies is draining the power too fast. Go!"

Kyran watched in fascination, wondering about how the wormhole was created. It was truly interesting to see such a unique thing at work, even if primitive by their standards.

O'Neill regarded the Goa'uld with obvious distaste as he herded his team toward the gate. Teal'c hesitated, turned to face the Jedi, and bowed respectfully.

"I hope we may one day meet again, Kyran Josel," he said slowly. Then, turning, he walked toward the waiting gate.

The Jaffa paused again, and looked back. "May the Force be with you." And with that, he disappeared through the Stargate.

Kyran had bowed in return to Teal'c's respect. This one had impressed him more than all of the rest. He had opened his mouth to reply, before he disappeared through the gate.

Jackson was next, at Carter's urging. He, too, glanced back at the Jedi speculatively. "Yeah, what Teal'c said. May the Force be with you!"

Kyran smiled slightly. "And with you," these people were so odd. It was almost like they seemed to get a kick out of saying it to him.

O'Neill pointed to Atum. "You go next. I want you in front of Carter. Carter, cover him."

The Goa'uld glared, but did as he was told. The blonde woman kept her Zat'nik'tel trained steadily on him, and he doubted she'd think twice about shooting him. His mind rapidly calculating his chances at escape at the most convenient moment, he looked at the active gate in near-reverence before stepping through.

"I'd be careful of him," he said, after the Gao'uld had stepped through. "I sensed more of his deceit even as he stepped through."

Carter nodded. "We know how they can be. By now, the entire Gateroom is on high alert. If he thinks he's going to try anything," She gave Kyran a disarming grin... "Well, he'll find himself looking down the barrels of a lot more guns than he's counting on."

Kyran smiled and bowed to her politely. "It was a pleasure to meet you, Lieutenant Colonel Carter."

Sam gave a slight smirk at the archaic mannerism. "Nice to meet you, too, Jedi Josel." It was still weird, even now, faced with the reality of the situation, to consider that Jedi actually DID exist in a galaxy far, far away. She stepped through the gate and was gone.

"Colonel O'Neill, I have the feeling we'll meet again," Kyran said, turning now to the last one of the team left.

Jack raised an eyebrow at that. "Sure thing," he said, skeptically.

"Ever the skeptic," he shook his head slightly, yet nevertheless bowed politely. "Perhaps you and I will come to better understand each other in future acquaintances."

O'Neill stuck out a hand. "Looking forward to it." When the Jedi looked uncertainly at the proffered hand, Jack added, "On my planet, we shake hands in greeting and sometimes parting."

Kyran nodded and shook the hand firmly. "I do understand. You are an interesting man, Colonel."

Jack gave him a grin. "I get that a lot," he told him, and vanished through the Gate. The portal closed behind him.

The Jedi Knight watched him go and as the gate closed behind them, he took out his comlink to contact his superiors. He'd have to let the Jedi Council know to figure out exactly what to do with this new problem. If there were hostile beings that enslaved others on the other side, it could pose a threat to the galaxy.

~*~

Atum stumbled slightly as they came out of the gate. He found himself staring down at least 30 armed Tauri, all of them gazing menacingly at him. He would have to be cautious now. He was back in his own galaxy, and if the other Goa'uld found out he had returned…at the blonde woman's urging, he stepped forward.

Carter ushered him along. She couldn't stop thinking about the Jedi and the fact that they had met one. It was just such an odd thing to think about. In all her time working with the SG-1 team, never had it occurred to her that such a thing could happen. She shook her head slightly.

The Goa'uld walked along, just barely in front of her, cruelly aware of the zat'nik'tel aimed between his shoulder blades. It dawned on him that there was a distinct possibility the Tauri had actually -- dare he even think it? -- Defeated the System Lords, or otherwise subjugated them..."This really is not necessary. I'm not your enemy," he said softly.

"We'll decide that," She ignored his attempts to sway her and kept guiding him along.

They came at last to an unmarked door with a tiny window in it. The woman slid a card through a reader and the door unlocked audibly. She opened it, gesturing him inside. Within, there was only a cot with a blanket and a pillow, and a small table. A light in the ceiling high above shone down. These certainly weren't fitting accommodations, but at least he wasn't in the desert anymore. "You were a host once," he ventured. It wasn't a guess.

She glanced at him. "That's none of your business."

He turned to face her as he stepped into the little room. He was getting under her skin, he could tell. "Is that why you've taken such a personal dislike to me?"

Carter rolled her eyes at his melodrama, having had enough of putting up with him. It had only been a short while, but anytime spent in the company of a Gou'ald was enough for her. "We will be in contact with the other system lords to determine the truth of your story."

His eyes widened just perceptibly. "Don't," he whispered, real desperation in his voice. "If they find out..."

"So are you ready to tell the truth then?" Carter asked, no sympathy in her voice.

"I told you the truth. The System Lords dumped me on that backwater planet. They'll kill me if they know I'm back." Then he thought of something, and his eyes narrowed. "But that's what you want, isn't it? So you don't have to deal with me... You'll just hand me over to Apophis."

She smiled slightly. "Then I suppose we could hand you to Anubis instead," she replied, before she closed the cell door. She sighed as she turned away. It was time to do a briefing for General Hammond.

Atum was left staring after her in disbelief. Apophis was bad. Anubis was ten times worse. If he'd had a ship, a small army, anything, he'd be on better footing. He had to find a way out of this.

Hmm, Author, Mind telling us a general idea of what point this takes place in both timelines?

As in, Season and a Time Reference for Star Wars?

I certainly don't trust that Goua'ould. The team had better watch themselves... But, ha, I'd definitely get a kick out of saying 'May the Force be with you' too. grin

Sabriel_Orion: I think we'd all get a kick out of saying it, if we met a real Jedi. Then again, it's also fun to say it to completely normal people, who look at you and go, "What?!?" Thanks for the feedback!

Alexis_Wingstar: Debriefings are always fun. I'm glad I'm not Hammond! I would live on Advil and coffee. You'll just have to keep reading.... And a new post is coming up soon!

VhenRa: Well, being a crossover and necessarily AU, it's hard to pinpoint a specific timeline/season. It is sometime after Daniel came back from being Ascended (so post Season 6) and Atlantis is established, but that's about as precise as I can get with that. In Star Wars, it's pre-TPM, about 2 years after the first Jedi Apprentice book, give or take a couple months. We're working outside the box, so to speak, so don't hold us to anything that happened in canon at this point in time. wink

Gkilkenny: Oh, Obi-Wan's coming. *evil smile* But I can't tell you any more about that. New update coming soon! I promise!

p_stotts: Muchas gracias! Glad you liked it! And yes, Atum is fairly confused. When he was exiled, Earth was still under Ra's dominion, and they hadn't buried their stargate yet. So....yeah. He's used to Tauri being fairly primitive.

Star-Foozle: We're glad you're enjoying it. And yeah, who, with any sense, would trust a Goa'uld, though? LOL! Sit down and buckle up -- it's gonna be a bumpy ride!

wolf_kenobi: More is coming! The commercial break is almost over. And to be perfectly honest.... Nah, I can't tell. Let's just say the GFFA is in for a little more than they bargained for -- and our home galaxy, too!

Thanks, everyone, for the delicious feedback. It was tasty and full of WIN! Keep watching for the next installment of Gate Crashin'!!!!!

Hey gang, glad you're having as much fun with this as we are! This post is a bit short, but we'll try and make it up to you by having another post ready later in the week. And without further ado, the post! grin

Chapter Three

SG-1 was already waiting on Hammond when he arrived in the debriefing room. He'd looked over their preliminary reports, and honestly, he wasn't quite sure he believed everything he was reading. Not that he thought any of them would purposely lie to him. It was just so strange. He addressed O'Neill first.

"Colonel, would you like to tell me just what in the heck happened out there?"

"Sir, when we exited the Stargate, we found ourselves out in the middle of a desert on a planet with two suns. We weren't there very long when a fighter touched down not far from where we had been standing by the gate. The person who approached us, introduced himself as Kyran Josel, and he was an official representative of the Galactic Republic," O'Neill paused for a moment, gauging the General's reaction. "You know, like in..... Star Wars."

Hammond nodded slowly. At least they had their stories straight. Apparently they were all under the delusion that they had visited a place that should have only existed in fiction. Then again, they'd been to alternate universes, into the past, and.... He sighed heavily. Sometimes, running the Stargate program was a huge headache. "Go on."

"He also mentioned the location of the planet, Sir. Tatooine."

Hammond rubbed at the bridge of his nose, closing his eyes for a moment. Yep. He could feel the headache starting now. "All right, Jack. I know most of the rest. Now, how exactly did you come by this Goa'uld?"

"Sir, he was evidently stranded by the rest of the System Lords. That's all the information we've been able to gather from him at this point," Carter interjected.

Hammond sighed. It was bad enough with Goa'uld in their own galaxy. To find them in others.... Well, at least they hadn't figured out much about the Atlantis project yet. "Carter, is there any way to track this Stargate down?"

Jackson raised a hand. "General? I think I know a way."

Jackson went on to explain that, with the help of the staff physicists, he and Carter might be able to triangulate a position based on the relative positions of all the other 'Gates they'd already been to.

"Assuming the Jedi don't move the Stargate," Carter couldn't help but point out. "Which they could if they wanted to study it."

Jackson thought about that for a moment. "Well...We could try dialing it again."

"Which brings us to the question of just what we do with our prisoner," Hammond put in, getting control of the situation before the eggheads got really excited.

"I offered to turn him over to Anubis," she put in. "He didn't like that suggestion very much."

"Well, it isn't exactly like we can just call him up, anyway. I'm sure he'd be real pleased to see any one of us," Daniel said.

Hammond put up a hand to silence him. "We can't keep him here forever, Carter. But we can't turn him loose, either. Anybody else got any ideas?"

Carter merely shrugged. She had offered her one suggestion.

Teal'c, quiet so far, leaned forward. "The Tok'ra," he said softly.

Hammond looked at him dubiously. "What?"

"The Tok'ra," Teal'c repeated. "They may be able to verify who he is, and might be willing to take him off our hands."

Hammond nodded slowly. "All right, Teal'c, get on that. Carter, you and Jackson get with the other physicists and try to track this thing down, just in case we need it. Dismissed!"

Carter glanced at Jackson as they exited. "Well, looks like we have a bit of work to do. Let's go find that Stargate."

Atum paced the confines of his cell, his mind working overtime. It had been some hours since the woman had left him -- or at least it seemed that way. He was hungry and irritable, and not least somewhat concerned. His own helplessness made his instincts sharper. There was a way out of this. The only way that made sense. As if on cue, he heard the door unlock, and he stood, waiting for the blonde. Instead, he saw two guards enter, one bearing a tray of what might be food, although even that was questionable, judging by the aroma. The other had a gun trained on him. It would be dangerous, but it was now or never. He watched the first guard set the tray on the table, and, at that moment, he went for the holstered gun.

The second guard fired a shot that went wide, and another, that didn't. The prisoner crumpled to the floor, seriously wounded. The first airman reached for his weapon, eyeing the fallen figure warily. He was vaguely aware of a sudden piercing pain at the back of his neck, and then.... A small smile played across his lips. The other guard checked the downed prisoner for a pulse, and didn't notice the brief white flash in his partner's eyes.
