Hello, and welcome. A little intro before you start to read.

Awhile ago, a group of us, upset at no confirmation of KOTOR 3, and eager as rabid fans, had the idea: why don't we write it ourselves?

And so the KOTOR 3 Writing Project was born, also known as Team Ebon Hawk. Together we hammered out the characters, chose our planets, and created a basic plot outline.

Now, we begin. Each author was given a planet to write, one with their own mai nquest and their own chosen sidequests. We hope to be able to create speculative, uniform written version of KOTOR 3. Regardless of whether the actual game is produced, I'm sure I speak for everyone involved when were excited to write this; we're having fun with a beloved part of the GFFA.

For more info, visit the official discussion and planning thread.

So without further ado...I present the first part of the first planet, and he overall story.

*Black appears across the screen. Suddenly, the words “Star Wars” flashes in stunning brilliance, and the trademark opera-esque music begins to play*

IT IS A TIME OF RELATIVE PEACE. FINALLY FREE OF
THE IMPLICATIONS WROUGHT BY WAR AND JEDI
SCHISMS, THE REPUBLIC HAS BEEN ABLE TO START
RESTORING RAVAGED PLANETS. THIS HAS BEEN IN
PART DUE TO THE NEWLY REFORMED JEDI COUNCIL.

HOWEVER, SEEMINGLY INSIGNIFICANT AND RANDOM
EVENTS ARE OCCURING THAT, ALTHOUGH AT FIRST
GLANCE APPEAR ISOLATED, ARE THREATENING THE
STABILITY OF THE REPUBLIC’S EFFORTS. JEDI
HAVE DISAPPEARED, AS HAVE INFLUENTIAL SENATORS,
AND FAR FLUNG WORLDS HAVE CEASED CONTACT.

AS THESE DISTURBANCES BEGIN TO ACCUMULATE,
MANY FEAR A NEW GROUP OF SITH MAY BE BEHIND IT ALL. THE
JEDI, SPRED THIN, CAN NOT ACT ON A LARGE SCALE AND
RISK THE POSSIBILITY OF WAR. BUT ON THE ABANDONED
ASTEROID COLONY XV442 NEAR REECEE, THE GALAXY’S LAST
HOPE AWAKES FROM A DEEP STASIS…

3,947 BBY

Her body, restless, jerked irregularly, apparently under heavy stress. Her eyes clearly winced, indicating the pain that tortured her subconsciously.

“Restrain her!”

Flashes of blue and gold echoed into her dreams, flashes that spoke as if hostile.

“Stinkin’ Jedi! Stun her, I said! Stun her!”

Odd, she thought. A incandescent, green…laser blade hummed rhythmically, and as the invisible force controlling it parried and struck, the voices ceased…but only briefly. Without warning, she felt a searing sensation slither across her back, and all she could recall was falling to the ground, enveloped in paralysis.

Her dreams changed…jumped time as it were…another suited figure hovered above her, this one wearing red, and having a somewhat harder tone to the sound of his voice. She was so groggy; and she couldn’t feel…she couldn’t feel. That is when she screamed, her shrill cry of abandonment filling the laboratory. To stop her, the red man injected her, not without struggle, and she lumbered back into deep sleep.

Silence.

A barrage of white filled her eyes…she looked around, barely able to see and thus comprehend her surroundings; was she still dreaming?

Another voice, this one female, called her name. She wanted to respond, but she couldn’t summon her vocal cords to act. She mumbled something, still under heavy sedation.

Silence.

She gained somewhat better control of her slurred speech. She tried pronouncing her name. It wouldn’t come to her tongue. She tried to move her hand. The slender fingers twitched slightly, as if a small infant, attempting crawl for the first time. Slowly but surely, her whole hand began conforming painfully slow to her control. Eventually her arms, and now her head could turn. However, exhaustion began to regain its control, and her body stiffened, her eyesight still blurred…and she lapsed into semi-consciousness.

Silence.

She almost could feel everything in her body; it was as if she had rediscovered her motor functions, and deep in her psyche she felt relieved. Yet, at the same time, her whole world was spinning…literally, in dizzying fashion. She felt as if she were constantly tossing and turning, her head swinging side to side, her voice repeating her inquiry as to why she couldn’t feel “it”.

“What is ‘it’?” responded a soft voice. The voice emanating close by, gave way to a gentle shake of her arm.

In literally a second her whole upper torso lurched forward, her eyes wide open, now clearly able to view her immediate surroundings. Panting heavily, the red haired female seemed to vegetate.

Khaylia Vand had regained consciousness.

Here you guys go. Enjoy!

* * *

“Where am I?” cried Khaylia.

Directly in front of her stood tall another female, this one wearing grey robes; her hair was short, in an unkempt style. Her bangs were trimmed, well enough to show a band that encircled her forehead and the rest of her head. Khaylia didn’t recognize her. Then again, she could barely recall anything besides fragmented recollections.

“Well, it’s about time. I’ve been waiting almost an hour.” The girl reached into her robe pocket and drew a small device, then flipped a tiny switch. “Carth, she’s up.”

“That’s music to my ears, Mira. Keep me updated.” A barely audible beep indicated he had hung up on his end.

Khaylia attempted dragging her legs out of what seemed to be the lower half of some sort of pod, but to no avail. They felt at heavy and inert as durasteel. Luckily she could move her head still, and her torso to an extremely limited degree.

“So…Khaylia, right?”

Khaylia stared at Mira. “You still haven’t enlightened to me as to where I’m…where we’re at.”

“My bad…We are on an asteroid, one that’s been hollowed out for mining and residence. This is a laboratory. And that,” she stressed as she pointed to the pod shaped bed, “is your stasis chamber.”

“I…I don’t understand. Why was I in stasis?”

Mira hesitated, and then explained. “You were put in there, forcibly might I add, by a Mandalorian regiment. An amazing feat, no doubt, considering you were renowned for you Jar’Kai style of fighting.”

“Jar’Kai?” Khaylia was at the verge of a breakdown, still confused, still unable to access her memory.

“Hmmm…that trip in dream world must have wiped your memory. Jar’Kai is a style of fighting used by Jedi that wield two lightsabers…like you.”

Something Mira said sparked a fuse in Khaylia’s brain, and she put her hand to her temple. “I…I remember. Green and silver. Those were the colors of the light…light…lightsabers.”

Mira gave a genuinely concerned look. “That’s good…you're starting to come out of it. Can you tell me your name?”

"My name is…Khaylia…Khaylia Vand.”

Mira nodded. “Good. Now, you cried out that you couldn’t feel ‘it’. What is ‘it’?”

Khaylia briefly got lost in thought, and then cleared her throat. “It…the Force. I can’t access it. I can’t…I can’t feel it!”Her neck buckled and her head dropped, the pain of being cut off from the flow of midichlorians freezing her veins, crushing her spirit.

Mira rushed forward to help Khaylia, resting her hand on Khaylia’s left shoulder. “Shhh…it’s alright. I’m here to help you…can you tell me if you remembering feeling the Force before you went into stasis?”

Khaylia shook her head violently, tears clouding her eyes. “I…I don’t know!”

“Okay, okay. That fine if you can’t recall it.”

“Wait…” She gently lifted her sleeve on her right forearm, and there lay a reddish, swollen area, with a defined center. Khaylia then lit another fuse…and remembered the injection. “Yes…it’s clearer now. A man…a suited man…he injected me with something odd before I was put into stasis. And…that was it. I fell asleep, more aptly, into a coma I would assume. Whatever happened to my connection to the Force happened then, I assume.”

Mira retread from her kneeled position and scanned her eyes around the room. She then spotted an injection tubule on a durasteel outcrop from the rocky wall, apparently a makeshift counter. “Here we are.”
Mira held the tubule steadily in front of Khaylia, so she could get an earnest and clear look at it. “Is this it?”

Khaylia nodded.

“That’s a start then. Let me see if I can find some data in the terminal over there.”

Her peripheral vision keeping a lock on Khaylia at all times, Mira sliced into the system, and began cycling through a variety of files.

“Let’s see here…” Her voice began to lower as she repeated the file names under her breath. “Mining 101…Bylaws of Reecee Economic and Industrial Board…shift assignments…cafeteria menu…recreational reading…Twi’lek mating videos, ughh, miners must’ve been extremely bored…ah here we go,” she said as her voice rose, “Personal logs, Scientist Demagol.”

Khaylia felt her legs starting to regain feeling but still were unmovable. She was of course curious as to what the logs could tell her about the predicament she faced.

Mira now began tediously eliminating logs that she felt had no bearing, and then announced the remaining few. “I’m thinking this one here; “Jedi prisoner” is what it’s labeled.” She began scanning the log’s dialogue, looking for something to gain insight. “Here we are. I’ll transfer it to a datapad so you can read it yourself.” She plucked the pad from her robe, inserted it, waited, than ejected it and gave it to Khaylia.

Khaylia began reading aloud. “Personal log 613; I’ve managed to restrain the Jedi temporarily using a slow acting Zabrak tranquilizing agent, but hopefully can find a more…permanent method. I intend on exploiting her high midichlorian count to gain much needed information on the Jedi and their sensitivity to the all powerful Force.” Her eyes fluttered and stomach rose, sickened at the thoughts of this Demagol.

“Personal log 621; in an attempt to sedate subject B3 to prepare for torture and ‘information extraction’ I injected corlusis, a blood thickening agent. The serum, designed to congeal the blood, will prevent her from dying while under my experimentation. It met expectations. End log.”

"Personal log 624; I have finished my experiments and interrogation. My experiments on her blood yielded nothing. Neither did my interrogation. This girl is a stubborn one. We have decided to put her into stasis for the time being. End Log."

Khaylia looked on at what she just read, speechless. “That’s…that’s where it ends. No answers. Guess I was wrong. I usually never am.”

Mira spoke quietly, trying to empathize. “Don’t worry…we’ll find out what caused your disconnection to the Force. I’m sorry…I can only begin to comprehend the feelings circling your mind right now. I would feel…violated, to say the least, being tortured against your will.”

Khaylia spoke up. “Thank you…”

“No problem.”

“So…Mira. How did you know to find me here?”

Mira shrugged. “Actually…I didn’t, to be honest. Neither did Carth. But a few days ago, Carth picked up a distress signal…it was the Ebon Hawk, a smuggling vessel once used by Revan and the Exile.”

Khaylia grew perplexed and raised an eyebrow. “The General Revan? The one who commanded the Republic against the Mandalorians?”

“Yep. That’s her alright. So…you weren’t captured at that time yet?”

“Not at all…I was helping the war effort in my own way. The war had ended when I went into stasis…I think,” she mused while scratching her forehead. “It’s still fuzzy to me.”

Mira grinned. “Well, in case that’s the truth indeed, Revan didn’t stay loyal for long…Malak and her turned on the Republic, and using an ancient weapons factory called the Star Forge, they began a conquering of the galaxy. To further screw things up, they went over to the dark side and became Sith Lords. Pretty soon, there were dozens of Sith Lords, all under their command, and even thousands more troopers.”

Khaylia’s eyes widened. “What happened to the Republic?”

“As fate would have it, a young Jedi and now a good companion of my mine, Bastila, used her stellar Battle Meditation to force a showdown with Revan on her flagship. Malak, being the opportunist he always was, fired upon Revan’s vessel and nearly killed her. Bastila took back the shell of the lady and kept her alive long enough to for the Council to reprogram her.”

“Care to enlighten me?”

Mira nodded. “Although some disagreed, the Council used the Force to give Revan a new identity and bury her former memories, and she eventually reunited with Bastila, along with the guy named Carth you heard over my comm. They along with some other hotshots tracked down Malak and the Star Forge, and aided the Republic in its destruction…and their ship of choice was the Ebon Hawk. Revan though, afterwards, had rediscovered her volatile past and left for the Unknown Regions. Apparently, there was a bigger threat there, one Revan knew of in her former course of life.”

“Threat?”

“Yeah, it bugs me too. Revan implied that this threat had goaded the Mandalorians into attacking the Republic to weaken it. She did admit her rampage across the stars didn’t help, but to compound matters, the Exile came around.”

“The Exile…I sense another story.”

Mira rolled her eyes. “Hey maybe you are regaining access to the Force,” she replied sardonically. “In all seriousness, the Exile was my friend and mentor. He was…almost a legend in his own right. Everything he did, that he had endured. All of it was just awe inspiring. I miss him to this day.”

“He died?”

“No…perhaps worse…you see, the Exile, not unlike you, lost his connection to the Force but in a more savage way. When Malachor V was destroyed in the final battle with the Mandalorians, he literally felt thousands of deaths and the terror of the victim’s final moments in a short matter of time. To survive, he did something a Jedi was thought of not being able to pull off; he purposefully cut off his link to the Force. It was brave and painful for him to put it lightly. And when he went to the Council to answer for his joining Revan’s cause, they sensed a ravenous echo in him; a wound as it was in the fabric of the Force.”

Khaylia slowly stroked her chin. “I remember him now…if I recall correctly, the Exile was the only one who was humble enough to answer for their perceived mistakes.”

“Indeed. However, even though Revan’s Sith had fallen apart, an even more dangerous threat waited in the shadows. Sith Lords who fed off these wounds began striking from the shadows, and the Jedi went into hiding, hoping these Sith would reveal themselves. That never materialized. And that’s when the Exile came back. He began hunting down the Council in exile, getting them to reunite on Dantooine, all the while reemerging into the Jedi he once was. He found me on Nar Shadaa, graciously accepting me for the journey, and he trained me in the ways of the Force. Eventually we were able to find the Sith lords and end the threat. The Exile then left like Revan, knowing that the threat Revan was fighting was too immense for one Jedi. Then, four years later, the Ebon Hawk came back…but without him, only T3-M4, a droid companion of both him and I, and Revan also. T3 had orders to find you, and he was also told to locate any who could help us do that.”

“Me? Why would the Exile want me?”

Mira shook her and curled her lip. “I…I don’t know. I was hoping you did.”

Khaylia, able to move her legs, stumbled off the bed and began limping around the room. “This doesn’t make sense…I’ve never met the Exile, nor Revan, and I’ve never even heard to this ‘threat’ they’re fighting. Again, I don’t get it.”

“Same here, sister.”

Khaylia found a supply box while walking and slowly opened it; inside were a mining jumpsuit, colored grey, with a red trim, a blaster pistol, a dexterity amplifying belt, and a couple grenades. She smiled. “Well, this is better then my undergarments.”

As she began dressing painstakingly slow, Mira spoke up again. “So, anyway, T3 gave us the coordinates to here. And now…you’re awake.”

“Well, I for one,” she responded as she zipped up the jumpsuit, “have nowhere to go. I’m not exactly welcome in the Order, and Corellia…well, it’s Corellia.”

“Why wouldn’t you be welcome?”

“As you probably know, Corellia was isolated somewhat from much of the galaxy. We Jedi there did things a bit unorthodox, too unorthodox for the Jedi Order’s tastes. We were often ignored, especially when we joined the war against the Mandalorians.”

“Well, things have changed. The Jedi have learned from their mistakes. We’re spread thin now, and are recovering from the past few years of chaos. I can guarantee you won’t be ostracized.”

Khaylia smiled faintly. “Well, you have reassured me somewhat…anyway, I want to get some answers. On who put me here and why, why the Exile needs me and how she knew I was here…and who this ‘threat’ is.”

Mira gave a thumbs up in acknowledgement. ”The sooner we’re off this abandoned rock, the better. Maybe we can even find your equipment from before you were put into stasis. And,” she said as she picked up the injection tubule,”see if there more than meets the eye about this serum. Let’s get going.”

I like how you clarified the alternative story choices from earlier in the conversation. I feel sorry for Khaylia though. Listening to a record of your own torture must be horrid. Blood thickening agent *shudder*

Here is another update. Enjoy!

The short trip out of the laboratory had grown longer than anticipated. For starters, Khaylia still felt lethargic, but eventually she had regained full motor control. To add to it, Mira had claimed to have memorized her path here, but it didn’t seem so to Khaylia.

“Another dead end. Should I be surprised?” Mira brushed off some of the dust from the granite deposits. Her sarcasm still reverberated.

“I could have sworn…” Khaylia’s voice trailed, still confused. “I did the reasoning in my head, I plotted out where we had gone so far.”

“You were wrong. It’s fine, really. No harm, no foul.”

Khaylia shook head stubbornly. “No…I’m never wrong…It must have been this stupid mine description,” she complained as she tossed the datapad to the ground.

“No, you said at the fork a klick or two back, that the right path was the right one. It was a 50/50 chance. We’ll just go back and try the left path.”

Khaylia then stopped in her tracks. “Wait a minute…you have a comm. unit. Why don’t you just buzz that Carth dude?”

Mira smiled, but it was a worn, faux one. “I knew that.”

Mira thumbed the portable device on, and hailed Carth, but after moments of static, she eyed the tiny pod shaped tech with a degree of disbelief.

“Something’s not right. Carth was supposed to stay at the cafeteria,, which is southwest of the docking port. T3 was with the ship. Let me try him.”

She changed the frequency and paused briefly.

A moment later T3 beeped in response.

“T3, good to know you didn’t short circuit.”

An annoyed chirp responded.

“Is Carth on the ship?”

No
“What do you mean ‘no’? He’s not responding to my hails.”

That’s the least of our worries. I’m hiding. The ship was hijacked.

“Please, tell me you’re joking.”

I don’t joke. Seriously, can you help me? I’m in one of ore processing rooms, on the lower floor.

“Hold up…exactly who took our ship?”

Why they’re here baffles me, but it was a group of Mandalorians…and they had a Force user with them.

Mira’s tension rose eve further. “How did you manage to escape that dance with fate?”

The ship’s scanners detected them landing on the other docking bay, and as they came closer, I left the ship and posed as a deactivated repair droid on the docking floor.

“So basically you sat there and let them take the ship?”

Let me finish! They didn’t leave with it. However the dark robed scary guy left two commando’s behind to guard the ship. When I thought the coast was clear, I tried to roll away and get going to find you, but one of them spotted me. I had to high tail it to where I am now, but I’m almost certain the others are alerted my presence…and there is no reason why they won’t expect your presence. I’d be careful.

“Wonderful, just wonderful.” Mira sighed deeply, her stress level intensifying.

Khaylia, frustrated, snapped the comm. from Mira’s hand. “D5 or whatever your name is…is there a terminal in your room?”

Who the hell are you?

“My, my you are quite the character. My name is Khaylia Vand, and hopefully I’m going to rescue you. Now is there a terminal in you room?”

Affirmative.

“Slice into it, if your programming can allow you to, and find a map of mining tunnels.”

Hold on. A brief moment of silence punctuated the air. Got it.

“Now, where on the map is the laboratory?”

There’s no laboratory on the map. Are you sure you’ve been out of stasis long enough?

“Hardy har har. Really though, that is odd. Can you tell me how the map is organized, labeled, or so on?”

Each mining tunnel has a designation. It starts with a series of three letters and ends with a number. Can you find any objects which would be labeled accordingly?

Mira pointed upwards. “There’s some oxygen pipes. Let me get a closer look. Khaylia give me a lift, would ya’.”

Khaylia boosted Mira up, and let her down on her mark.

“It was marked THX32,” instructed Mira.

Okay…it seems you guys hit a dead end. I’m not surprised. Now, make your way back to the fork in the path and take a left this time. You’ll later come to a three way split at the end of the mines. The right path leads to the crew quarters, cafeteria, and administration area. The middle continues a mining track and leads to a freight elevator to ore processing and is adjacent to a supply room. To your left, are the docking bays. Also, keep in mind, there’s a perpendicular path leading directly from the docking area to administration; so you could run into them there easily.

“Thanks, D5.”

It’s T3-M4, thank you very much.

“My bad. T3 it is then. We’ll get to you as soon as possible. Also, keep an eye out for Carth.”

Khaylia buzzed the comm. off and gently tossed it to Mira.

“Well, Mira, he said something about as Force user, didn’t he?”

She raised an eyebrow. “Yes, yes he did. Which sends chills up my spine, because the Council had assumed that the Sith were no longer a threat. I mean we never ruled out completely the possibility of survivors, but to confirm one is still around...” She shuddered.

“Don’t you find it more than a cruel coincidence that around the time I’m found and awoken from stasis, a Sith shows up?”

Mira swallowed hard. “You’re right. I didn’t think about that. I have a bad feeling about this. We better find Carth. Now.”

T3 is such a sass-mouth, great when played off against Mira. Again I really like how the story is being told through a lot of dialogue, just like KOTOR itself!

Thanks for the compliments. I wrote T3 as I perceived him from the games; lighthearted and cocky.

OOC: Sorry it's taken me so long to update guys!

After a relatively brief trek in the same direction they came, and a detour to the actual path, they reached the three way split.

“Let’s take the right fork; we need to find Carth.”

Khaylia nodded. “I concur.”

The rocky, rugged façade quickly transformed into a grey, dark durasteel corridor. After a few paces, a door slid open, and before Mira could even set her foot forward, an invisible force tugged her backwards with surprising force.

“They’re in there.”

“How did you…”

“I didn’t…well, I did…but I don’t know *how*.”

“Maybe you’re regaining your connection.”

Khaylia folded her hands in front of head. “It would seem so, wouldn’t it? I just…I can’t…it just happened without warning. Alarm bells went off in my head, the Force began flowing through me and I pulled you back. How can I describe it? I can’t control it, but it happened. That’s all I can say.”

“Sorta like an involuntary spasm.”

“I guess you could put it that way.”

“Did you managed to get a head count?”

“No.”

“Some help you are. Hold on.”

While Khaylia glared at Mira, she closed her eyes and her forehead creased, her mind buried heavily in concentration. Slowly moving her hand, she opened, and stood rigid. “Five. But the good news is that none of them are our old friend Spencer the Sith.”

“You have an uncanny knack for being annoying yet insightful at the same time Mira.”

As she flipped her lightsaber playfully, she smirked. “I try.”

“So basically, you’re preparing to go in there guns blazing?”

Mira shrugged. “More or less. Any suggestions?”

“Not really…but I’d rather not die so soon.”

“Don’t worry. Can you fire that blaster?”

“I’m pretty sure I can handle it.”

“Excellent. I’ll go in first. Stick close. You don’t have some of the luxuries I have…at least not yet,” she advised, with a wink from her left eye.

The automatic door slid open, and Mira nearly yelped out in fright when a blue armored Mandalorian imposingly blocked her way.

In swift reaction, Mira’s violet lightsaber sprang to life and immediately after swung forward with crushing pressure, searing the cortosis armor and knocking the warrior to the floor.

Khaylia began firing rapid bursts, and the Mandalorian cried out in what would be his last breath.

On the heels of their comrades death, two more Mandalorians, both wearing gold armor, sprung forward, their heavy pistols blazing. Khaylia responded with a more subtle defense, leaning down behind a steel table and firing off short rounds, than taking cover once again.

Mira came to life, flipping in the air, all the while skillfully maneuvering her lightsaber to fight off incoming volleys. She landed somewhat gently, and immediately rushed forward, swinging her saber continuously to avoid the increasing blaster onslaught.

The closer Mandalorian roared in pride and drew his vibroblades, intent on striking down a Jedi. Mira gladly accepted the challenge, parrying his attacks, and finally locking her saber with his blades. Mira pushed forward, growling, stifling the Mandalorian’s strength and avoiding a succumbing to the Mandalorian’s forward progress.

Khaylia fared no worse, but not much better either. The second Mandalorian branched off from the other, and began firing strategically to get Khaylia out of her makeshift foxhole. She refused to budge, skillfully coming out just long enough to fire off precise sniper-esque shots.

She ground her teeth, knowing that her attack was barely making a chink in the armor (she laughed in her head; she had made a pun…sort of). Shaking off the completely pointless thoughts, Khaylia decided to go on offense. Using all of her might, she kicked the table across the marble floor, and a surprised grunt indicated the Mandalorian was knocked over as planned. Trotting forward, she thumbed the switch on a frag grenade and readied her throwing motion.

“Heads up Mira!”

Mira, sensing what Khaylia had in mind, used the Force to nudge her quarry towards the impending impact.

No sooner had the other Mandalorian began dusting himself off had a large, but contained explosion pulverized his body, sending him into the floor and killing him. The shrapnel ricocheted throughout the room, causing Mira and Khaylia to duck. The remaining Mandalorian wasn’t so lucky. The shrapnel hammered down on him, bringing him to his knees.

Mira finished him off with a forceful lightsaber strike to his back. Panting, she switched off the weapon.

“Well…we certainly made a fantastic one-two punch.”

Khaylia, reloading her blaster pack, managed to smile weakly. “You could say that…however, I did most of the work.”

Mira laughed scornfully. “Ha. Anyone can throw a grenade. Besides, I was the one facing down the sharp blades of two, count em’, two vibroswords.”

Khaylia finished reloading. “Bah. I just got out of stasis. Not bad, eh?”

“No excuses, Khaylia. Next time, I sit back in luxury while you take them head on.”

“Deal,” Khaylia sputtered while laughing mildly.

“Okay, no more small talk. We have to find Carth.”
