The past meets the future (mix of PT and OT)
|
(This Story takes place a month after ROTJ. It will also have some flashbacks to the past but will focus on this era.)
The older woman sat in the throne room of her ship as it quickly approached Coursant. She still could not believe the news. Palpatine was dead as was Vader.
As soon as she heard the news she ordered her ship to quickly take off. She was the first citzen of Naboo to step off that world since the Empire was formed. A knock intrupted her thoughts.
"Your Highness?" A young guard asked her in a nervious voice. She got off the throne and smiled at the young man.
"Yes?" She asked him as she climbed off her throne.
"We have gotten clearance to land on pad 735 your highness." The young man said stopping silenly. She looked into his eyes and knew that there was more.
"What else?" The Queen asked.
"That we will be met by a Private Ellis who will be our escort." The guard said.
"Understood" The Queen said as she dismissed the guard. Her handmaiden came in and helped her get ready.
"Maybe you shoudln't of come your highness? Its clear that Naboo is not going to be welcome." The Handmaiden told her Queen.
"Our Former Seantor has a created a lot of damage to the galaxy and Naboo has sadly paid a price for that. But it its time for the truth to come out.
When I took the throne. I made a promise to Padme. And I will keep my word to her.
Now leave me alone." The Queen asked as the handmaiden bowed and left.
Rabe fromer handmaiden to Queen Amidala, Minister of Arts under Queen Jamilla and now Queen herself took a deep breath as she felt her ship land and left her ship.

Queen Rabe stood by the door of her throne room. A few mintues later a Naboo guard came up to her.
"The landing platform is scure your highness." The guard told her. After Padme's near death and the assassination of Queen Jamilla and all of her handmaidens she had to reamin on the ship until they were sure that it was safe.
"Thank you Lt. Panaka." Rabe told Panaka's grandson on his first mission off world. She then lead the royal party off the ship.
As she climbed off the ship her thoughts went back to the first time she visited Coursant.
it was just after Naboo was invaded and she stood next to Padme as Sabe acting as the decoy came off ths ship.
"Welcome your Higness" Rabe heard. But this time the words came from a young private who was alone on the platform. She could sense how nervious he was so she smiled at him.
"I am Private Ellis. I am to escort you to your quarters." He told her.
Rabe nodded as she and her party was led to a craft which headed down. Panaka just looked at Ellis.
"Where are you taking her Highness?" Panaka asked.
"With the recennt defeat of the empire we have had many visitors......." Rabe intrupted Ellis.
"I understand. Just inform Princess Leia of my arrival" Rabe said.
"She is a very busy person right now. It will take a while." Ellis said as they arrived at the lower level apartment.
The Naboo party went into the apartment which was clearly to small for their needs. The handmaidens and other parties were about to protest but Rabe held her hand up.
"THank you for your kindmess." Rabe said as Ellis left.
PRINCESS LEIA'S OFFICE
Leia was going over some paperwork. She sighed at C3PO.
"I need a break"Leia aid a she got up to stretch her legs. She smiled when Luke came in.
"Can I help you Luke?" Leia asked.
"Private Ellis informed me of the Naboo deligations arrival." Luke said noticing the look on Leia's face.
"I know Luke. But then can wait until Hoth Heats up before I see anyone from that world." Leia said in a cold voice.

Luke could sense the anger in Leia. Ever since he had joined the rebelion he had noticed that nobody ever mentioned Naboo. Leia looked at Luke and smiled at him.
"You don't know the role Naboo played in the destruction of the Republic and the formation of the empire. And even how they even helped in the destruction of the Jedi Order." Leia asks him.
"No. I never really heard of Naboo before Private Ellis informed me of the Queen's arrival" Luke answered.
"Palpatine was from Naboo. He was the Seantor from that world. When Naboo was invaded from the Trade Federation Queen Amidala came to Coursant to plea for help. But she helped remove Supreme Chancellor Valorum from office and made sure that Palpatine was elected." Leia explained to Luke.
"And then 10 years later there was Jar-Jar Binks. He was the one who got the Senate to give Palpatine emergency powers which led to the death of the republic and his forming the empire.
The Naboo are members of the Republic but I do not trust them Luke. I think that the Queen is here to take over for Palpatine and reestablish the Empire." Leia tells Luke.
"I don't get that feeling Leia. I sense that the Queen has been sent by the force to Coursant. And that it is very important for us to see her." Luke informs Leia.
"I will not see her Luke. But I can't stop you from seeing her. But be very careful Luke." Leia warns Luke.
Luke nods and leaves Leia's office. He then gets on a speeder and heads toward the ruins of a building he has never seen before.
As he lands he notices three women in black cloaks. One of the women was kneeling in front of the building while the others stood behind her.
The two women blocked Luke.
"I wish to speak to her highness." Luke tells the women.
"How do you know who she is?" One of the handmaidens ask.
"Its all right Dorme." Rabe said as she got up and came up to Luke "Its an honor to meet you Jedi Skywalker." Rabe said as she smiled at Luke.

Will Rabe reveal all that has happened in the past? But first she must make Leia see how Palpatine so deftly manuevered Padme. (Although I don't think it took that much for Palpatine to convince Jar Jar.)

ZaraValinor:Rabe is here for several reasons. She is basicly the link between the past and the future hence the title
Luke silently stared at Rabe. He could tell that she posed no threat to anyone. But this place was effecting Luke. The force was so strong here.
"What was this place?" Luke asked in a low voice.
"This used to be the Jedi Temple. Until Palpatine had it destroyed during the Jedi Purge" Rabe said in a low sad voice.
"This was the Jedi Temple?" Luke said as he just stared at the centerpiece of the old Jedi Order.
"In the days of the Republic thounds of Jedi Knights went from this place. I had to come here to pay Naboo's respects." Rabe said.
"Is that why you came here?" Luke asked.
"Its one of the many reasons why I am here." Rabe said as she stared at Luke. "You don't trust me?" Rabe asked.
"I have heard quite a few things about Naboo." Luke pointed out.
"Not good things I assume. It was dark times Luke and to protect my people I had to do things I was not proud of." Rabe said.
"Like betraying the Republic?" Luke asked.
"The Republic was dying Luke. It died the moment that it could not protect one of its members from an attack from another.
Naboo tried to remain in the Republic and fix it from within but it was hopeless. The only thing I could do was protect my world."Rabe pointed out.
"So Leia was right. You betrayed the Galaxy just to protect your world?" Luke asked.
"No. I could not save the galaxy. All I could do was protect my world. Just like Bail Organa did." Rabe said.
"Excuse me Your Higness but I find that hard to believe. Bail Organa and Leia helped the Rebelion." Luke told her in a slightly raised voice.
"That was his role. My role was different. He was to heelp the rebelion get started while I and Naboo was to help when the Empire was defeated." Rabe said.
"And how are you supposed to help?" Luke asked.
Rabe turned to face the ruins of the Jedi Temple.
"The building was destroyed. But All the records of the Jedi. The traditions and history of the order were not. Let me ask you a question.
Anakin was called Darth Vader. Ever wonder the meaning of that?" Rabe asked.
"It was a mystery." Luke admitted.
"Darth was short for Dark lord of the Sith. Obi Wan told me one thing about them. There were always two. A master and a student. Palatine was the master and Anakin was the student." Rabe said.
"You knew Ben and my father?" Luke asked. "And my mother?" Luke added.
Rabe looked at Dorme. They both had a sad look on their faces.
"I knew her. But I will only discuss her when you AND leia are ready. But for now I have a gift. Brought to me by both Obi-Wan and Yoda." Rabe said as she handed Luke a holo disk.
Luke stared at it for a few seconds.
"In it are all the records of the Jedi order. Many years of history and tradition on it. The whole Jedi Libary." Rabe said as she headed to her speeder. She then turned to face Luke
"Until we meet again Luke. And tell your sister hello." Rabe added as she left.

Luke just stood there after Rabe left. He stared at the disc she had given him. Was it the Jedi Libary.
He then headed to his own speeder and headed to Leia's office.WHen he arrived he saw that Lando and Han were also there.
"Did you see her?" Leia asked
"She was at the ruins of the jedi temple. And she gave me something" Luke said as he placed the disc on Leia's desk.
"What's on it?" Han asked.
"The entire Jedi Libary. She said that Ben gave it to her." Luke said.
"It must be a trick. I can't believe that Ben would give the Jedi Libary to the woman whose lie led directly to the Jedi Purge." Leia said.
"Leia's right Luke. Queen Rabe's sppech to the Senate where she blames the Jedi for the death of Queen Jamilla and her handmaidens led directly to Palpatine ordering Vader to destroy the Jedi" Han said.
"I don't know why but the force is telling me to trust her. I don't think she is as evil as you all make her out to be." Luke tells them.
"Lets be honest. We know nothing about Naboo. Palpatine ordered that nobody except him or Vader be allowed on Naboo. And The Queen is the first person from Naboo ever to leave her world." Lando points out.
"WHich worries me." Leia points out to Lando. "Palpatine was from that world. And so was Vader." Leia adds.
R2D2 lets ot a few beeps. C3P0 turns to Leia.
"That is not quite true Princess Leia." C3PO points out.
"WHat?" Leia asks suprised
"R2 says that Anakin Skywalker is from Tatoonie" C3P0 tells them.
"Which does make sense since I am from there to" Luke adds. "R2, how much do you know?" Luke asked the droid.
R2 beeps some more. C3PO looks at R2 with a suprised look.
"Thats impossible." C3PO says.
"What" Luke asked.
"R2 says that my memory was wipped and a block was placed on his by Ben Kenobi. And that he is prevented from saying anything else unless his REAL OWNER releases him." C3P0 responds.
"What real owner?" Luke asked.
"Her Royal highness Queen Rabe of the Naboo." C3P0 informs them.

It makes sense. R2 did belong to the Queen. Not Padme specifically.

Oops, I missed a bunch of posts. 
This is shaping up to be quite the interesting story and I'm definitely enjoying it.  I liked the little twist you added with R2 in the last post. I also like all of the mystery surrounding Naboo in this time. Very interesting! I look forward to more.

A suprised Luke stared at R2. Over the many years he had owned R2 he had no idea that R2 belonged to someone else.
Leia stared at C3P0
"I want to know what's going on?" Leia asked in an angry tone of voice.
R2 beeped some more. C3P0 was not very happy.
"Master Luke is our owner. WHy after all thse years would you claim to belong to someone else? You will tell him everything." C3P0 said to a silent R2.
Luke turned to Liea.
"Before I met them they were on your ship Leia" Luke pointed out.
"THey belonged to the royal household. Actually R2 belonged to my adopted mother. She was the one who told me to put the death star plans in R2 if something happened to me." Leia tells them.
"I remember how he he told c3P0 that he had to go to Ben who was a former owner of his. But Ben denied owning a droid" Luke said.
"If Kenobi wipped C3P0's memory and placed the block in R2 then they do have a connection. Did Kenobi ever visit Naboo?" Han asked
"He was one of the Jedi sent to Naboo after the invasion. It could be possible that R2 was one of the Naboo's droids.
But it does not explain he ended up with me and you." Leia asks
"Doesn't anyone find it strange that we find out about this block in R2 at the same time the Queen of Naboo is on Coursant?" Lando points out.
"WHen I saw the Queen she mentioned Your adopted Father Leia. She said that his role was to help the rebelion get started while her and Naboo's role was to help when the empire was defeated" Luke said.
"Help with what? Reform the empire?" Leia asks.
Luke looks at the disc.
"Or help restore the Republic." Luke responds.
"NABOO RESTORING THE REPUBLIC? They destroyed it Luke. I think that this Queen is using the force to effect your mind. Maybe to make you like Vader." Leia looks at Lando.
"General, I want you to go to Queen Rabe's quarters and have her arrested for her crimes" Leia orders
