	here's another chapter involving Jacen. as with the others, as with the others, it borrows some from Traitor. I had a hard time writing it but I hope you all enjoy! Chapter 22: Dark Times Broken and lost on Yuuzhan'tar, Jacen Solo had nowhere else to turn to for help. In one brief but terrifying moment, the young Jedi Knight had reconnected with the Force, using it to stun both Vergere and Nom Anor. Jacen then realized just how far he had fallen and it scared him to death. His family's history with dark experiences left much to be desired. Anakin and Luke Skywalker. Jaina Solo. All had become victims of their anger and thirst for vengeance. Now Jacen could add his own name to that list. Ashamed of his actions, he had fled the Grand Convocation Chamber after frying the two traitors. He ran non-stop for several miles, not bothering to note where he was going. When he finally looked up, Jacen was shocked to find himself standing in front of his family's old apartment complex. Swallowing hard, he entered the run-down building, amazed that it still stood after all that had happened. Climbing the stairs, it took Jacen some time to reach the Solo residence. The door had long since rotted away and was no longer of any use. Clearing the dust off of the couch, he sat down. Hours passed and Jacen showed no signs of movement. Deep in meditation, he searched desperately for the answers to his problems. Frustrated with the lack of a response, he reluctantly gave up. Feeling a familiar presence approaching, Jacen turned his attention to the front door. From his seat on the couch, he reached out with the Force to unlock the door and open it halfway. Without turning around, he called out to Vergere. "Come in." The little alien hobbled in. "Hello Jacen. I knew I'd find you here." Surprised, Jacen jerked his head around. "How Vergere? How did you know?" Vergere settled down on an empty stool. "Do not the injured always return home to lick their wounds?" The young man shrugged. "I guess. Listen Vergere, I'm sorry for what happened earlier. I don't know what came over me. I fell Vergere. I fell to the Dark Side." Rolling her eyes, the little alien retorted, "nonsense young Solo. Do not blame your actions on the Force. You took it upon yourself to do what you did. What I am about to tell you will challenge your every belief. Behold the shameful secret of the Jedi. Jacen, there is no Dark Side of the Force. The only darkness is found within each individual person. The Force is one. It does not take sides. Back on the worldship, I said that everything I tell you is a lie. Well this, my friend, is the truth." Rising quickly to his feet, Jacen felt a sudden wave of dizziness overcome him. He refused to submit, however, instead willing the Force to strengthen his rubbery legs. At that exact moment, a cadre of Yuuzhan Vong warriors, led by Executor Nom Anor, burst through the door. *********************************************

	just thought that I'd let everybody know something. In case you haven't looked at the dramatis personae, I made Zekk Kyp's cousin. My thinking is that there were other Durrons living on other planets. For example, Ennth. Don't be hatin!

	Well...if there is one thing that is well beyond me is why on Coruscant would Jacen apologize to Vergere... Mind you I have not yet read Traitor but...well...I don't why in the world Jacen would eventually like Vergere or something... 	C3SoloPO: I don't know if you've read Destiny's Way but there's a part in there where Luke explains that sometimes prisoners grow attached to their captors and he believes that's what happened to Jacen. Queen: shhhhhhh! the name is Kobe, Kobe Bryant and thanks for finally discovering that I can right... er, write. yeah, that's it!
