	So here it is, our second Wraith Challenge! I have yet to post my answer to the first challenge but in an attempt to keep Shinar's mind off her husband's departure we have deployed on a new and exciting mission! Please post here your letter as outlined in the Cantina guidelines I posted today. Reminders there are no restrictions other than size, less than one page please. Let your mind wander. 	Ok, I've only read Destiny's Way once so I was mostly going off Ylesia here. It's a little before Ylesia (when Jaina's being "ambiguous", gotta love that reunion scene ) and I tried to come up with an explination for things that puzzled me (why the Goddess ruse dropped off) or I tried to tie into some stuff (clawcraft repair) Dear Jag, Kyp has also left Twin Suns to run his Dozen again. I find myself commanding a squadron of rookies. It’s very different than the way Twin Suns was at Borleias. I understand you are in a similar situation though I suppose you have more experience in this area. The Goddess ruse has become less important now that the war effort is clearly underway but it does feel odd sometimes, not having a specialized squadron with a non-X-wing as part of my shield trio. 	My reply to Shinar's letter follows: Dear Jaina, It was great to hear from you. Although I am sure you miss having Kyp there to back you up, I am sure his skills as a squadron leader are being put to good use. It is nice to see Master Durron has found the confidence once again to make command decisions. Since my extraction from Twin Suns shortly after the fall of Borleias, I have found the task of integrating the Chiss pilots my father sent with the inexperienced E-wing squadron a challenge. My second, who is also the E-wing lead, is quite capable, just rough around the edges and lacking the formal training of the Chiss. Sometimes it causes problems, but my squadron is disciplined enough to accept the chain of command. I fear sometimes that I do not understand the Rebel mentality enough to deal with the E-wing pilots appropriately. Sometimes, I just think –What would Jaina do? And that seems to work for the most part. I am glad to hear you will not be sticking your neck out unnecessarily without the extra protection Kyp and I provided when you were playing your Goddess games. I was worried about the ability of your inexperienced fliers to offer the support required to take the continual attacks on you personally. This is not to say that you cannot handle any situation single-handedly, but a little back-up never hurt. As for maintenance of the clawcraft, that will become an issue shortly. We are seeing action everyday. The Hydian Way is full of Yuuzhan Vong. Nothing we cannot handle though, mostly scout ships and mining projects looking to jump unsuspecting freighters or refugee convoys. It does take its toll on the fighters. The E-wings are definitely in better shape than the clawcraft, and unfortunately, the Chiss pilots are used to having their fighters in pristine condition. My jump is almost ending. It was nice to have your letter to read during the dull travel time in hyperspace. I will get this off to you as soon as we get to the nearest station, which may be a while yet. 	Here's my letter in response to TKL's one... Dear Jag, It’s me again. I’m glad to hear you’ve been whipping those pilots into shape. What would Jaina do? I think I like that philosophy – too funny! So, you guys are seeing a lot of action? Stay safe, Jag, because you know I would kill you if I found out you’d been killed. Fighter maintenance is starting to get a little rough around here, but not for my squadron. We haven’t been seeing much action, though, so it’s really not a problem. Things have slowed down greatly here -just when I thought things couldn’t slow down any more - and between the pilots’ weekly sabacc matches, we don’t do much for excitement. I’m not allowed to play in our sabacc competitions anymore because I’m a Jedi and everyone figures between me being a Jedi and a Solo, I’d rob them all of their creds. Actually, I think they might be on to something there… They let me play with them last night under special circumstances. I was sitting in the lounge with Zindra, Torec and a few other pilots and Zindra came up with the idea that we should con the newbies into a game and see how many creds we could wring out of them before caught onto us. Our green pilots are fairly naive when it comes down to it, and they weren’t quite aware of the standing ‘No Jaina’ rule. Basically, they were fair game. I know you aren’t much of a sabacc player – have no fear, us Rebels will make you into one yet – but I think you would have thoroughly enjoyed being here for this one. Zindra had skifters for everyone in on our little prank, just to ensure our winning hands. We ended up getting about 8 people in, and 3 were rookies, so I think you can imagine how badly we whooped on them. Once Torec had suggested how much fun it was to beat their commanding officer, those three were bound and determined to beat me. They just wouldn’t give up – it was great! So, we finally had cleaned out these rookies’ pockets when we admitted to bending the rules. They managed to get most of their money back, although Zindra was fairly reluctant as you can imagine. I felt a little on the guilty side, so I bought them some drinks, and the next few rounds of lomin ales were on me. Well, I’d better get going. I’ve got patrol duty soon – and you know me, I just can’t wait. I look forward to hearing from you again soon, Jag. Stay safe, and I know you will. It never hurts to say it though. Shoot a skip or two for me! 	Nice job Squishy! Your's is more humorous, I think I like it better than mine. Humor is my Achille's heel when it comes to writing. Course, I was aiming for the PMSing, according-to-the-odds-I'm-gonna-die, distant Jaina Fly well and shoot even better That's something Jaina would say! I'm chatting with my friend on ICQ and he says I got him addicted to PotC!!
