	Well this came on sudden inspiration after watching some old movie. I basically took the general idea, and wrote it out my way, with a little Star Wars twist to it Needless to say it was very fun to write and I hope it will be fun for you to read. This is basically a J/K, with an implied sense of J/J going on in the background, even though Jag doesn't make an entrance. Have fun! ---- Practice by Eowyn Jade* “So you know what you’re gonna say, right?” Jaina Solo’s grease covered face squelched up as she heard the question. Truth was, she really didn’t have an answer to it, but that didn’t mean she wasn’t going to try and make one up. “No idea,” she finally admitted, ducking back into her X-Wing as she tried to one again fix something that probably didn’t need fixing at all. She came here to get her mind off of tonight. Unfortunately, Kyp Durron also showed up, and it seemed the only thing her was interested in was bugging her about tonight. “You shouldn’t go in there without some idea of what you’re going to say,” Kyp reasoned with her as he stood a little ways off, perched on some nearby crates with a small gadget in his hands that he was tinkering with. “I think I’d rather leave it up to my….first instinct, shall we say?” Jaina joked, poking her head out again to grab another tool. She examined a few for a moment, her forehead creasing as she tried to find the best one for the job. Finally, a hand pressed the exact tool she needed into her face and she looked up to see Kyp standing over her with a grin. Jaina felt herself blush, but ignored the butterflies that came up in her stomach. “Nervous?” Kyp asked with a smile, leaning against the side of her X-Wing as she ducked back down and put her hands to work. “It’s just Jag,” she reasoned with him. “Why should I be nervous?” “Well it is your first real date,” Kyp said casually, checking over his horrid looking fingernails for traces of cleanliness. Seeing a clean spot, he grabbed Jaina’s dirty rag that was tossed over her shoulder and viciously wiped it away. Jaina peaked her head up again to give him a puzzled look. “Is there a reason you’re wiping your hands with that filth?” She reached over, snatching it from him and slinging it back over her shoulder as she ducked down again. Kyp felt a small hint of annoyance go through him as she teased him. “Well why are you keeping it if it’s so dirty?” “The ship doesn’t need to be as clean as you, Kyp,” her muffled voice came from inside the X-Wing. They both were silent for a few moments as they tried to figure out what that had met exactly. Jaina kept her cool though, trying not to let her mouth run away with her mind. Voicing her opinions to Kyp Durron, had, as of late, not been the cleverest thing to do. He had been very cool and collected around her lately and even more so after she had announced that she and Jag were actually going to go on a real date. Kyp, on the other hand, enjoyed the silence. It was better than getting into an argument with her. Through the last few months of restoration to the galaxy, they had become quite good friends. Not necessarily as good as Kyp would have hoped, but it was better than where they were during the war. Adding Jag Fel into the mix didn’t bring about must better circumstances. Besides, Kyp had it on good authority that Jag was going to give Jaina a ring tonight, a really expensive one at that. Kyp could only imagine the question he would ask her, but he tried to figure out why it bothered him so much. “You got an outfit picked out?” Kyp finally broke the silence and he could hear Jaina’s slight pause in her work as she considered the question. “I’m not looking too far into it. Besides, Jag doesn’t care what I wear, he told me himself.” Jaina finally straightened up and closed the access door that she had been crouched through, wiping a few dirty marks off her face as she stood to look at him. “What about you?” She asked with a hint of a smile. Kyp managed to flash a lopsided grin and waggled his eyebrows. “Oh I’d love you dressed in anything, Goddess.” Jaina’s eyes narrowed and she bopped him lightly on the head as she left his side and went to sit by the toolkit. Turning to face her again though, Kyp could see that she was smiling. “You know what I mean, Durron,” she said with gritted teeth as she tried to fit the last few tools into the kit and have the container close. “Oh, you mean do I have an outfit picked out?” Kyp tried to keep the grimace off his face as she reminded him of yet another stupid choice he had made; volunteering himself to be the server for their dinner. “You don’t have to do it, you know,” Jaina said lightly. “Jacen said that he would be happy to.” Kyp could sense the small decline of happiness as she said Jacen’s name. He waved it off and went to sit by her. “Do you seriously want one of your highly overprotective brothers to be your waiter on your first date with Jag?” Jaina let out a small giggle. “No, I guess not.” “If he even saw Jag touching you, he’d try to kill him,” Kyp reasoned. “Well…I suppose you’re right…” “So doesn’t it make sense that I would do this for you? The best friend you’ve got?” Jaina grinned mischievously over at him. “Thanks Kyp.” Kyp leaned back and stretched his arms out behind him and Jaina. She stopped fiddling with the tools and leaned back as well, her head resting lightly on one of his arms. They sat in silence for a moment before Kyp broke the silence again. “So…do you need some practice?” He asked softly, a small does of his cockiness in his voice. “Practice for what?” Jaina asked, not really wanting to know the answer. “Well tonight’s a real special night for you two, right?” “It’s just a date, Kyp.” “Believe me, it’s gonna be special.” “You know something I don’t know?” Kyp let himself grimace without her seeing. “Yeah…” “So what do I need practice with?” “Well, say, let’s just supposed, that you want to give Jag a goodnight kiss when it’s over.” “Okay, I’m supposing. What about it?” “He’s just given you a very special night. Don’t you think you should give him a very special kiss?” It seemed Jaina was finally catching on cause she sat up again, her eyes questioning him as he sat back, relaxed and unconcerned on the outside. Inside, Kyp was churning. “You think I need practice on kissing?” Jaina said in disbelief. “You don’t even know what you’re talking about.” Kyp tried to stay reasonable, but she kept shooting him down. “Are you getting anything for Jag tonight?” “Well, no, but-“ “I happen to know that it was him who set this date up, besides the waiter, which you got of course,” he winked at her and was delighted to see her blush, “And I also happen to know that he’s getting something else for you.” “What?” she asked excitedly. “Now why would I tell you that?” “Kyp-“ “The point is, Goddess, he’s gonna want something in return.” Her eyes narrowed. “You’re saying I should sleep with him or something?” Kyp’s eyes grew wide. “Force no!” he said with a hint of disgust. “What gave you that idea?” “Well what else can I give him?” “Something a lot better than your virtue,” Kyp mumbled, loud enough so that she could hear. He lowered himself back down as the realization dawned on her face. “You think you can teach me how to kiss, Durron?” She said with a hint of a smile. “I’m just saying the offer’s open,” he sat up a little straighter and pleasantly smiled at her. She seemed to be working something out in her head, but her shields were up so tight that Kyp couldn’t figure out what. He, himself, was doing a remarkably good job at keeping his face passive. The butterflies in his stomach were increasing by the second and his heart was pounding. “Let’s do this,” Kyp said finally. He reached over an pulled Jaina down next to him. He felt her tense at the close contact, but she relaxed almost instantly. “Say I’m Jag.” Jaina began to giggle. Kyp decided to ignore it but cleared his throat for emphasis. “Now, how would you kiss Jag, me, goodnight after I’ve just given you a night you’ll never forget?” Jaina scrutinized him for a moment. This was one of those crazy moments that he knew Jaina would never back out on. A normal girl would probably slap Kyp for saying that, but Jaina was a Solo, she never backed down from a challenge. She carefully reached up and locked her arms around his neck. Kyp felt himself freeze for a moment, but was snapped out of it by Jaina’s voice. “You have to try too, Kyp, or this isn’t going to work for me.” Hesitantly, Kyp reached up and slid his arms around her waist. She felt so small and fragile in his arms and he tried to tell himself that the fact that she was Jag’s girlfriend made him from holding her tighter. Jaina softly lowered her lips onto his and Kyp almost melted in relief. Her kiss was warm and deep and despite that she was making him weak in the knees, he tried to kiss her back just as well, if not better. As he responded to her kiss, he felt her arms tighten around his neck a bit, pulling him closer. His first thought was that she was actually enjoying it, but then he remembered that he had told her to act as if he was Jag. Well she most defiantly was. Kyp tried hard not to get too carried away, and all he managed to do was grip her waist a little harder before she broke away. As they both breathed hard from the lack of air, Kyp noticed that neither of them had released on another, and they were both still looking each other in the eye. “That was…good,” Kyp finally managed to croak out, a grin coming to his face. “You’re quite a natural.” “Not so bad yourself, Mr. Durron,” Jaina teased. “I’d say you could probably teach me a lot.” Kyp couldn’t quite get a real sense of what she was feeling after the kiss, but he knew he needed to kiss her again. Just once more, and that would be enough. “Well let me show you something new,” Kyp mustered up his courage and leaned forward to her, this time he initiated the kiss and she immediately responded. After a moment, he felt her arms tighten around him and he couldn’t help but hold on tighter to her. A few tears trailed down his cheeks as he realized that this would probably never happen again. But it was so right…it was so…… perfect. His insides finally lurched and he realized he was only making this worse for himself. As she finally let out a little moan, he pulled away suddenly, letting go of her all together and backing up a bit. She looked at him with a saddened face, probably noticing the tears in his eyes. “I think you’ve got it,” Kyp managed to squeak out, as he tried to sit as far away from her as possible. “Yeah…” she said hesitantly. He could feel her trying to probe his mind of his strange behavior, but his shields were up strong enough that she couldn’t even have a hint. “I think I’ll have to pass on the waiter offer tonight Jaina,” he said with a shaky voice. He lowered his eyes to the ground. “Something just came up.” Looking back at her, and despite her shields, he was able to sense the deep amount of confusion that was rolling towards him. Neither of them could figure out what had just happened, and neither was actually sure they wanted to figure it out. “Oh sure,” she said casually, standing up and taking a few steps back. “I’ll find someone else.” “Right,” Kyp mumbled. “Well, see yah around.” He managed a smile up at her. “Have fun tonight Jaina.” She gave him a small smile as well. “Thanks for the practice, Kyp.” And with that she turned and walked out of the docking bay. ---- I was going to just leave it at that, but if people like this enough, I might continue. well, who knows EJ -----signature----- "You guys are like ravenous wolves." -Devin ~* Defying Gravity ~

	Elfsheen - h I'm so glad you liked it! So it wasn't too...cheesy? [face_sily] Thanks for the review! JainaDurron - Well she did see the tears but she didn't quite know what they met. At this point in the story, they're both a little confused as to how they feel about each other Thanks for reading and reviewing! Continuation might be in order, if I find time yeah like that's a problem Jaina_and_Jag - Well that was the point I was trying to get across, so I'm glad you felt sorry for him Thanks for the review, I'll tack your "sequel order" onto my chart and we'll see how things so EBrooklynW - yeah I was thinking of maybe doing the whole scene from Jaina's POV...which would be kinda a sequel thanks for reviewing! 	Bittersweet. That is the word for it. A sequal is definitely needed! Seeing the kiss from Jaina's POV would be pretty cool and then have her run after a certain dark haired green eyed Jedi Master and give him another kiss...and another...and another... 	Oh, my goodness. That was so.... so.... unexpectedly original! I abslutely LOVED it! I'm glad you didn't go for the "Gee this is so awkward, don'tcha think?" angle, and instead played up how close friends they really are. There aren't many fics out there that go for this, so props on that! I really would write a longer review, but I have to go. So au revoir for now. I'll try to get back to you on a longer one later! 	jedi_enigma - just how many kisses you got in mind? Well I'm still not sure if I have time for writing more, but if I do, I most defintly will let you all know! Thanks for the reveiw! Deneveon - I was wondering if you'd show up I'm so glad you liked it! And I'm relieved that you got the angle I was going for. I really did want them to seem like close friends, so I'm glad that got across alright Thanks for the review! Elfsheen - Ew, yeah that would have been way to HELLO! for me. The ending took me thelongest and it was kinda hard for me to get across the fact that even though they both enjoyed it, Jaina isn't quite torn from jag yet, and Kyp isn't quite sure how he feels about Jaina.
