	new page! New post! One more after this and then I can saftly stop this story! ---- "Eye contact, Jaina. Think of it as a battle and I'm the target, okay?" Kyp almost burst out laughing at how nervous Jaina looked. She had asked him here for a little practice, and he had readily agreed. Spending time with her lately had been hard because Jag and she were attached at the hip. Now it was just the two of them though, in one of the nicer council rooms of the Rebel Dream. Kyp had wondered aloud why she didn't want to have the ceremony on Mon Calamari, but she said that this ship was more of her home than the planet was. Force, it was only 5 days away and she was already starting to freak out on him. "Jaina, force, Jaina calm down," Kyp reached up and put his hands on the side of her face, trying to make her stop shaking. "I'm trying! I know, I'm such a wimp…" She thankfully was able to stand still long enough to get a hold of herself. Kyp saw her close her eyes quickly and take a deep breath. He smirked at her unusual inability to control her feelings. Usually, jaina was calm, controlled and confident, even when she wasn't. Her brow was actually gathering sweat. "Okay, can you hear me?" Jaina nodded, though he was sure she was still not in as much control as she thought she was. "Okay, I'm going to go over there," he pointed to the head of the room where the small arch was fixated, "and stand where Jag would be. You," he stuck his finger sharply in Jaina's chest which got her attention quickly, "are going to wait here, and when the music starts," he pointed to the small music player they had set up on a remote, "you are going to start walking, calmly," he raised his eyebrows, "towards me." There was a long pause when she didn't acknowledge him. Gritting his teeth, Kyp reached down once again and grabbed her face. "Jaina? Do you get me?" She shook her head slightly and then focused her eyes up on him again. "Standing, music, walking, you, Jag, right…" She said it very fast, but thankfully, Kyp caught it all. He only gave her one more exasperated look before walking to the other side of the room. Why am I doing this? What did I deserve to be in this position?* Turning around to face her his eyes focused back on the ring that was now a normal part of her outfit. It had only been a couple months since Jag's proposal, but it was long enough that everyone was used to it. Except Kyp. He didn't know what it was, but for some reason the very thought of Jaina and Jag actually getting married was almost funny to him, as if he could never imagine it happening. But now, he was helping Jaina practice walking down the aisle (the thing she was most worried about) and the wedding was, most definitely going to happen. Fumbling with the remote, Kyp triggered the music and turned back to Jaina, raising an expectant eyebrow as she snapped to attention at the sudden noise. Thankfully, she did start walking and it wasn't like the last 10 times where she had just stood there in a stupor. She actually made it halfway before she lost it. Her face suddenly went blank, almost like she wasn't sure what she had just been doing. "Jaina!" Kyp cried, switching off the music. She jumped at his shout and looked up at him apologetically. "Oh I'm sorry Kyp! Argh! Why can't I do this!?" She stomped her feet and a few tears trailed down her cheeks. Collapsing in the nearest chair, the floodgates opened and Kyp felt like the biggest jerk in history. He glanced over at his chrono and saw that they had been at this for hours. Gathering his dignity, he went and sat next to her, gently laying his hand on her back. She stiffened slightly at his touch, but immediately leaned against him, letting him scratch her back up and down. They were both silent for a few minutes, knowing each other well enough that there wasn't much you could say to break the silence. Kyp, however, knew Jaina better than she thought. "You love him, right?" It wasn't more than a whisper, but both of them shivered as the words were said. She hesitated for almost a full minute before replying. "Yes." Kyp was almost shocked at the word. It wasn't "yes, I think so" or "I did" or "I'm not sure anymore". It was the most definite "yes" that he had ever heard. "Well then that's all that matters…right?" She sniffed a little. "What?" "The dress, the ring, the flowers, the invitations, the food, the reception…" he hesitated, "the walk down the aisle…why does it matter so much? You love him, he loves you, that's what's most important." She pulled up out of his embrace and looked at him through her teary eyes. "Why do you say it like that?" she said softly. "Like what?" "Like it hurts you…" Kyp was almost frozen when he heard those words. He wanted more than anything to say, "Because it does," but he would not stoop so low. Instead, he heard himself saying, "I'm loosing my best friend, why shouldn't it hurt?" Another tear dropped down her cheek and he reached to wipe it away. She smiled up at him. "I do love him you know…so very much…" Kyp managed a smile and nodded. "That's great, kid." She giggled slightly and leaned over to kiss him on the cheek. As she walked away, she called out, "Thanks for the practice, Kyp." As the words left her mouth, both of them froze and she turned to look at him one last time. He reacted first, biting his bottom lip and nodding to her, trying to not let her see the tears in his eyes.
