	This is posted with permission from LadyPadme. In fact she was the one who asked if I was going to post it. I wrote this after reading her story The Jade Prophecy and listening to My Immortal by Evanescense. Disclaimer: I don't own Star Wars. George Lucas does. I didn't come up with the problem Han deals with during this, LadyPadme did. I don't own My Immortal. That belongs to Evanescense. She asked me if I was going to post it. This is dedicated to LadyPadme. Thanks for the story and the permission. Enjoy! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I'm so tired of being here Suppressed by all my childish fears And if you have to leave I wish that you would just leave 'Cause your presence still lingers here And it won't leave me alone Han jerked as the haunting echoes sounded through the dim room he was presently in. Though it was a woman singing he felt the song was made just for him. Even being on the other side of the galaxy fighting in another war Leia’s presence lingered with him. It was as if she were in his very soul. Of course that should have come as no surprise. She had been since he had first meet her in the prison block aboard the first Death Star. He had been unable to get away from her then and even though they were nothing more than strangers now, he found he could not get her out of his mind, out of his heart. He knew that losing their daughter had been tough on her. It had been tough on him as well. He dropped his head from where he had been looking out the transparisteel windows and sighed. Parsecs stretched between them physically and even though those same parsecs seem to separate them emotionally, Han knew he could never be truly rid of her. He did not want to. These wounds won't seem to heal This pain is just too real There's just too much that time cannot erase When you cried I'd wipe away all of your tears When you'd scream I'd fight away all of your fears I held your hand through all of these years But you still have All of me He slammed his fist onto the slight sill that jutted out from the wall under the window. The nights Leia had awaken, screaming from another nightmare, he had held her and wiped her tears - all the while desiring to literally fight something, anything to bring her the peace of mind she so desperately needed. But she had pushed away when Ralia was miscarried. She would not let him touch her, hold her, wipe her tears from her face. She would not even acknowledge him. You used to captivate me By your resonating light Now I'm bound by the life you left behind Your face it haunts My once pleasant dreams Your voice it chased away All the sanity in me Tears began to stream down Han’s face. Many nights he know woke with Leia’s pale, unanimated face staring out of the dark, like some freakish nightmare he felt he was destined never to wake up from. She used to have a spark, a spirit in her. That was what first attracted him to her. No matter what was going on around her, no matter how many times she fell, she got right back up and continued on. Her daughter’s death was the one thing she could not bounce back from. Not as quickly as she normally would have. Han remembered the agnizing pain he had felt when he was informed that his baby had died, before she had really begun to live. Though that was awful, the resulting distance Leia put between them hurt him worse. These wounds won't seem to heal This pain is just too real There's just too much that time cannot erase When you cried I'd wipe away all of your tears When you'd scream I'd fight away all of your fears I held your hand through all of these years But you still have All of me I've tried so hard to tell myself that you're gone And though your still with me I've been alone all along She is gone, he thought. And she wouldn’t let me follow. He placed his hand over his heart. But even though I can’t reach her, she’s still here. She will always be here. When you cried I'd wipe away all of your tears When you'd scream I'd fight away all of your fears I held your hand through all of these years But you still have All of me “You still have me, Leia,” he whispered into the dimness. “I’ll still wipe your tears, I’ll still fight your fears, I’ll still hold your hand. 	Hi, JM, Well, I haven't read "The Jade Prophecy" (but I'm intrigued, I may have to now), but this was a very well-written piece. I loved how Han and Leia's souls were intertwined, and the portrayal of their grief was very realistic. 	That was so beautiful! I loved it. Poor, poor Han. Still makes me want to step into the GFFA and slap some sense into Leia... Han lost a child, too and he's the one who could comfort you better than anyone, Leia!! Oh, well, we just have to hope LP doesn't leave us hanging too long. 	After reading this, I hope that somewhere in LP's sequel to "The Jade Prophecy" Leia realizes how much Han loves her and how much she has really hurt him by neglecting him. Like someone mentioned elsewhere, Leia needs to start thinking of someone other than herself. Great writing!!!! -----signature----- Believe it or not, but I like the NJO books.
