	Title: Torch of the Jedi Infinities: Ben's Despair Author(s): -RebelScum- Timeframe: 12 Years Post NJO Characters: Ben Skywalker, Mara Jade Skywalker, "Ghost" Villain, Tracer, Rosa, Roger Genre: Action Keywords: Summary: Ben and his friends explore some ancient ruins on Ossus... they are not alone. Notes: This is based on Suzuki_Akira's Torch of the Jedi series, this is still very much my own fic however. Chapter I: The Saber Ben Skywalker rolled over in bed, today felt different for some reason... then he suddenly remembered. It's his thirteenth birthday! Ben ran out of his room living quarters and sure enough there was a present! "Happy birthday Ben!" Mara said and gave him a big hug. "This is from me.. and your father," she added as if an afterthought. Mara leaned down close to Ben and whispered in his ear, "Your father wanted to get you a new robe but I insisted on this." Giving Ben a wink she sat down with Luke to watch his open his present. He quickly tore apart the wrapping. "It's. It's. my first lightsaber!" Ben practically squealed in delight and activated it. "Wait, isn't this your saber, mom?" Ben questioned after he got a good look at it. "Well, it was my saber Ben," Mara explained, and before that it was your father's, and before that it was your grandfather's, its been passed down the generations and now it's your turn to wield it. Besides, me and your father both knew you were getting anxious for a saber since all your friends have already got their sabers." "Thanks, Mom!" Ben said hugging Mara, then after seeing his father looking down at him as if expecting something, Ben blurted embarrassed, "Oh, and dad, thank you too." His father looked down at him sternly making him flinch before grinning and chuckling. "I'm going to show my friends!" Ben shouted as he ran out the door of the new Ossus praxeum. "But Ben, what about dinner?" Mara shouted, but it was too late. He was long gone. "Well Skywalker, it looks like just you and me for birthday dinner," Mara laughed. "Tracer, Rosa, Roger!" Ben shouted, "look what I got!" Ben waved the lightsaber over his head and tripped nearly, impaling himself. "Whoa Ben, be careful, you don't want to cut an arm off do you?" Rosa joked. "I see you your finally got your saber" she observed. "Yeah!" Ben said enthusiastically, "it's been passed down in my family for three generations, it was my grandfathers, then my father then my-" Ben stopped as he got a idea. "Hey remember how Tracer mentioned yesterday that those old ruins near here were haunted?" "Hey," Tracer cut in, "I said I heard they were haunted, I don't actually believe it." "Still, I think we should check it out, it would be an adventure," Ben replied. "But Ben, its getting dark and and it could be dangerous to be out there after dark, Ossus hasn't been settled by many and there are still predators out," Roger objected. "Don't worry, we all have sabers now to protect us!" Ben beamed waving his now deactivated saber in the air to emphasize." "Ben, I don't think this is a good idea," Roger started, "just because you have a lightsaber doesnt mean you should use it." Roger warned. "C'mon Roger" Rosa said caught up in the moment, "it will be fun!" "Well, I suppose a quick look could'nt hurt" Roger replied. "But-." "Good!" Ben cut him off, "Let's go!" And off the four friends went to the so called haunted ruin. Tracer, Rosa, Roger and the Torch of the Jedi title were created by Suzuki_Akira, I have his full consent to use his characters and name, this is pure infinities and nothing here affects his main story. -----signature----- Fantasy Keeps Me Sane.

	The premise seems pretty interesting. Perhaps a Sith spirit? Keep going with this! Good job. 	Chapter II: The Ghost "Ben, it is getting dark, maybe we should have brought a flashlight," Roger whispered as they walked into the ruins door, or at least what was left of it. “No, we can use the Force to light our way,” Ben replied using the Force to create a small glow, though opening himself to the force brought something unexpected, “Um guys, do you um feel that,” Ben whispered so softly they almost couldn’t hear him. “Yes, I do… it’s a presence in the Force, only it seems to expand through the entire ruins, almost like, like it’s actually haunted Ben!” replied Rosa with a slight quiver in her voice. “Don’t be silly Rosa,” Tracer put in. “It could be uh, a manifestation of the Force or something, we’re only apprentices, we don’t know everything about the Force, and uh, it doesn’t seem intelligent, ah, wouldn’t a ghost be intelligent,” Tracer was growing unsure himself now, “and uh, wouldn’t-“Tracer was cut off by an small crackling sound, suddenly the floor started shifting and the crackling increased. “Guys!” Roger yelled, “The floor is giving out, run!” but no sooner then he said that the floor completely caved in sending the boys down into the dark depths of the ruins. “Ah, my head,” Ben groaned after they hit the ground, “Where are we anyway, I didn’t even know the ruins went underground.” Ben was growing scared now as he reactivated his glow, and was suddenly shocked by a scream, “That was Roger’s voice!” Ben shouted running towards the source, as he rounded the corner he saw Roger engulfed in a glowing mass that seemed to be sapping the Force from Roger’s body. “It’s, growing so cold,” Roger murmured the color draining from his face as the Force was drawn from him. “Please stop it,” he pleaded with the aura, “PLEASE!” he was shouting now. Suddenly he the aura sense Ben and threw him against the wall, it happened so suddenly it took a minute to register in Ben’s mind the aura used the Force! Then the strange aura disappeared, suddenly remembering his friend Ben ran up to and felt Roger’s pulse. “He’s still alive Rosa,” he reported letting go of the breath he didn't even know he was holding, “But I’m afraid the ghost is real." -----signature----- Fantasy Keeps Me Sane.

Ben questioned after he got a good look at it. my parent's totally screwed me on my 13th birthday! I didn't get a lightsaber! I liked the way the dialog moved things along, but it would have been nice to hear some descriptions, especially of Tracer, Rosa, and Roger. 	thanx, its true, i do tend to lean towards dialague, ill try to do better, and i didnt get a saber either.. only a lousy pair of mandalorian armor... and a crate of glitterstim... i feel cheated! -----signature----- Fantasy Keeps Me Sane.
