I'm glad everyone is enjoying this. I only have one more chapter typed so far and here it is.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Chapter Four:

Luke stood on the platform at the front of the Grand Audience Chamber as the students and teachers filed into the room. I stood a few paces to his left and behind him and I could hear the questions of curiosity asked among them as they entered and found seats on the benches brought in for that purpose. Luke gave me a reassuring smile as the last of the Academy residents took their seats. He raised his hand and attentive silence fell over the room.

“I have called all of you here today to offer an apology for my behavior over the last few weeks. I let my emotions take control of me, which is something I never should have done. We all make mistakes and we have to learn from them and admit to them. I can’t promise you I will never let my emotions get the better of me again, but I can promise you that I will have better control over my own actions.

“I would like to thank all of you for being patient and continuing on despite my dark mood. However, there is one here who deserves my thanks far more than anyone. She helped me see the error of my ways and she made me see that I was mourning something that was right in front of me all along. She made me see that what I have been searching for was here all along. I thought I had found what was missing in my life with Callista, but I was wrong.”

At this point he motioned for me to come forward. “Anya has been with me since I started this Academy. She has been here to support me in whatever difficulties came my way and she has helped me find my way when I felt like I had lost it, more times than I can count. I know that I can trust her with anything, even my life, and I know she will always be here for me when I need her. She proved that by hearing my Force call all the way on Lycoris and wasting no time in getting here to see what I needed. I thought I had found my soul mate in Callista Ming, when in reality, my soul mate was waiting on Lycoris for me to see what a jerk I was being.”

I was surprised he was being so candid with the other Jedi, but then he and I both knew there would have to be an explanation for our abrupt change in relationship. I gave him an encouraging smile and sent my love and assurance flowing through the Force to him as he continued.

“When Anya arrived last night, I wasn’t even aware of the fact that I had been calling to her, however, my soul, in its time of need, knew who I truly needed at my side. As we talked and I shared with her the things that had been happening over the past several months, I came to understand just how big a fool and a jerk I had actually been.

“I had taken our friendship for granted, not fully realizing how much of a connection we share. I now know that if I didn’t have Anya by my side to calm me, to strengthen me, I would not be able to carry on. So, I asked her to walk at my side forever as my wife and life partner.”

There was silence for a moment after he stopped speaking, then the crowd burst into muted conversations among themselves. After a few moments someone called out, “What was her answer Master Skywalker?”

“Her answer was an unhesitating yes,” I stepped forward and replied.

Neither of us expected the response we received from the gathered Jedi. Every single person present burst into cheers and applause. Shouts of, “congratulations”, “wonderful”, and “may the Force be with you both,” could be heard.

To our surprise, there were also a few who shouted an emphatic “well it’s about time”. The meeting began to break up and many came to us offering their personal congratulations.

“That went well,” Luke said when we were at last alone in the chamber.

“They all simply want to see you happy, Master,” I replied.

He pulled me into his arms, his hold strong and sure. “You make Luke happy,” he said. His hold on me tightened and I snuggle my head into his shoulder.

“You will always be my Master you know. Nothing will ever change that.”

“I know, and there will be times when using my title will be more appropriate, but my given name is what I want to be known by in your heart,” he replied giving me a wink and I kiss.

“Luke is what my heart has always known you as. You may be my Jedi Master, but I have also gotten to know the wonderful man behind the Jedi mask and that is who I fell in love with.”

This time his kiss was fierce and possessive and my heart soared with happiness. “I had better go contact Leia, let her know what’s going on and discuss wedding options,” he told me and reluctantly released his hold on me and headed for the exit.

“Wait, what should I do? I don’t have any assigned duties since I’m supposed to be on Lycoris,” I said stopping him before he reached the door.

“Check with Kam and find out who he is sending to Lycoris, then brief them on what’s going on there. I’ll talk to you later.”

I stayed in the chamber for a few more minutes thinking about all that had happened in the past day. My life had changed quite drastically, but I felt a peace that I had only ever dreamed of. Kam was waiting for me when I finally emerged from the chamber.

“So, who gets to ride the waves of Lycoris’ political sea?” I asked as we walked down the hallway.

“Funny you should put it quite that way,” Kam said smiling. “Bantu is going. He is prepping for departure as we speak.”

Bantu was a Jedi from the water world of Mon Calamari and knew all there was to know about riding waves.

“He is a good choice. He is very patient and calm, two traits he will need in abundance on Lycoris.”

“That bad huh?” Kam said.

“That bad. I’ll go and brief Bantu on the situation. Is there anything you need me to do when I’ve seen Bantu off?”

“Master Skywalker asked me to have you meet him in his office when you’re finished with Bantu,” Kam answered and I nodded in understanding.

We turned to take our separate ways to attend to our duties, but Kam stopped me by calling my name.

“Anya?”

“Yeah,” I said turning back toward him.

“I am really happy for you and the Master,” he said.
“Thanks Kam, we really appreciate your support.”

“You will always have it Anya, that you can be assured of.”

Silent understanding passed between us and we went on our way.

LaYa: Thanks!

Laura_Anu: Hope you had a nice trip. Don't worry nothing bad is going to happen on the Lycoris front. Lycoris was just a means to an end. I wanted to establish the fact that Anya could hear Luke through the Force even over very long distances.

RebelScum: Thanks for reading.

Here is the next chapter.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Chapter Five:

I found Bantu in the shuttle bay running preflight checks on the shuttle that would transport him to Lycoris. For two hours I briefed him on the situation there and why a Jedi was required as mediator. Once he was sure he understood what would be required of him, we said our farewells. When Bantu’s shuttle was safely away, I made my way to Luke’s office.

Luke was sitting behind his desk in meditation when I entered. However, his eyes opened the moment he sensed my presence and a smile spread across his handsome face. “Is Bantu on his way?” he asked.

“Yes, with assurances that he will handle the situation with calm and diplomacy. He also wished for me to tell you that he is happy for the both of us and hopes we will have a long swim through life.”

“I don’t think I’ve ever heard that saying before,” Luke said amused.

“Neither have I. Bantu is from a remote village on Mon Cal, maybe it’s a local saying.”

“Maybe so. I talked to Leia.”

“What was her reaction?”

“She was surprised at first, but I explained things to her and she seems to understand. She thinks that, considering the circumstances, it would be best to have a private ceremony and then announce the marriage a little later.”

“Frankly, I’m a little relieved she feels that way. I wasn’t really that eager to have a big wedding. I want our wedding to be about us, not about politics.”

He reached up and pulled me into his lap. Feeling bold, I lay my head on his shoulder and nuzzled at his ear as he continued.

“She, Han, Chewie, and the kids are on their way to Yavin now,” he said his voice low and husky.

“That soon?” I said continuing my affectionate nips. Suddenly, he shifted our position so that he could claim my mouth in a passionate kiss. He trailed that kiss along my jaw line until he was nipping at my ear, giving me a little taste of the sweet torture I had been causing him.

“We had better find something else to occupy us,” he whispered in my ear and I knew that he meant we were shortly going to be past the point of no return if we continued to tease each other.

Taking a deep breath to calm my wildly beating heart, I reluctantly pulled away.

“How about we go find Tionne and see if she has come across any Jedi bonding ceremonies in her studies of Jedi lore,” Luke suggested.

“Sounds good to me.”
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++=

Tionne had just finished with her last class for the day when Luke and I found her in one of the old pilots barracks that had been converted into a classroom. She was gathering up her data cards when we entered, but she looked up when she sensed our presence.
“Did you need me for something Master Skywalker?” she asked, her ever-present gentle smile washing over us.

“We were wondering if you had ever come across any bonding ceremonies in your study of Jedi lore?” Luke answered.

“Deep bonding of the sort you are planning seemed to be very rare. From what I have been able to piece together, an attachment such as marriage was expressly forbidden by the Jedi Council.”

“Forbidden?” I exclaimed quite shocked by her revelation.

“The Jedi of old felt that attachments would be too distracting. They thought that your time would be better spent studying and learning. However, I have come across a few examples of recorded bondings. According to those recordings, the couple simply exchanged promises. No formal ceremony was performed.”

“So their bondings were never officially recognized. Is that what your saying?” Luke asked.

“As far as I can tell, that is the case,” Tionne answered.

“So, I suppose we will just have to look at the Republic ceremonies and see which one fits us best,” I said. Luke looked as if he didn’t care for that idea much.

“I suppose so,” he said with a sigh.

“I have a suggestion Master, if you care to hear it,” Tionne offered.

“Go ahead Tionne, your suggestions are welcome,” Luke told her.

“You are establishing a new order of Jedi and you have said that many of the traditions held by the Jedi of the Old Republic are not appropriate for us. Perhaps you could establish your own tradition for Jedi bonding. You and Anya could establish your bonding in whatever way you feel is appropriate for you and the Senate would have to accept it as legal as long as you both sign a New Republic marriage contract.”

Luke thought about Tionne’s suggestion for a long moment. “That is a very good suggestion Tionne. Thank you,” he finally said.

We left then, leaving Tionne to finish gathering her things. Leading me out of the Temple, Luke reached over and took my hand. We walked silently around the Temple grounds, Luke deep in thought. I left him to his thoughts, content to simply be with him. I knew he was considering how we should handle our wedding ceremony. We were half way around the Temple when he stopped and turned to face me.

“Should we act on Tionne’s suggestion, or would you rather have a Republic ceremony?” he asked me.

“Luke, I will do whatever you want. How we promise ourselves to each other makes no difference to me as long as everyone knows that I belong to you. I don’t care what kind of ceremony we have.”

A grin spread over his face and he pulled me into his arms. “So, you want to belong to me do you?” he said his voice low and seductive.

“I already belong to you Luke, I just want everyone else to know it,” I told him and snuggled closer into his arms.

For a long moment we stood there just enjoying each other’s warmth.

“I like Tionne’s suggestion. It seems more appropriate for us than a New Republic ceremony,” Luke said.

“Then we’ll start our own Jedi tradition,” I replied smiling up at him.

“Yes, we will,” he answered and we finished our walk while we discussed what we wanted our bonding ceremony to include. By the time we had completed our walk around the Temple, we had decided exactly what our ceremony would be.

Chapter Six:

Three days after our talk with Tionne, Leia and her family arrived and three days after that my parents arrived from Sycoria. Leia, her family, my parents, and the other residents of the Academy would be the only guest at our wedding. Preparations began the day Leia arrived and the ceremony was to be held one month after that. We had already waited six years to be together and we didn’t want any more delay.

The month passed quickly and soon the night before the wedding arrived. I was meditating in my quarters that evening when I was startled to hear my door announcer chime. Wondering who would be out and about at 2200 hours, I rose and opened the door. Leia, Tionne, and my adoptive mother Maria Suffield, were standing on the other side.

“What are you three doing out lurking the halls at this time of night?” I asked grinning at the mischievous looks on the faces of the three women.

“We come bearing gifts,” Tionne said holding out a brightly wrapped box.

“And drink,” Leia chimed in holding out a bottle of Alderannian wine. A rare find these days.

I motioned for them to come inside and then closed the door behind them. The four of us had gotten rather close over the past month and this closeness, I suspected, had triggered this impromptu party.

“First things first,” Leia said producing four glasses seemingly from thin air and pouring them full of wine. “A toast to the newest member of the Skywalker-Solo clan,” she continued and we all clinked glasses and took a drink.

For an hour we sat and talked about the pros and cons of married life and when I suddenly let out a huge yawn, the other women got serious once more.

“I think it’s time we gave Anya her gifts so that she can get some sleep,” Tionne said and picked up the large brightly wrapped box she had carried in. “This is from all of us,” she said handing me the box.

I took it from her and lifted the lid. Neatly folded inside was the most beautiful and elegant dress I had ever seen. Simple in design, it was made from cream-colored Corellian silk. The bodice was a latticework of delicate lace and seed pearls. The sleeves had the same lacey design and fit trimly down to my wrists. The skirt flowed elegantly down from the bodice, a waterfall of smooth silk that ended at my ankles.

“It’s absolutely perfect,” I told my friends, unable to keep the tears from flowing. The three had asked me early on to let them choose my wedding dress as their gift to me and I had agreed. I knew that whatever they came up with would be gorgeous because all three were ladies of great taste.

“There’s more,” Leia said handing me a bag, her eyes sparkling. Inside the bag was a delicate pair of high-heeled sandals the same color as the dress. Rising from my seat on the floor, I hugged all three emphatically. After many tearful hugs and well wishes, Leia and Tionne excused themselves leaving my mother and me alone.

“I have one more gift for you Anya, but I wanted to give it to you alone. Before I give it to you, there is a story I must tell,” my mother said and I could hear sadness in her voice. I gave her a nod of understanding and sat back down in the floor to lean against my bed and look up at her.

“As I have told you before Anya, I found you on our doorstep when you were a baby and I have loved you as my own ever since. What I didn't tell you was that there was a large envelope tucked in beside you. Inside that envelope was a letter to me, from your birth mother. Also in that envelope was a smaller envelope with your name on it.

“The letter to me explained why you had been left and asked that I give you the other letter on the day of your wedding. So, my dearest daughter, I pass on a gift, not from me, but from the woman who gave you life.”

My hands were trembling as I reached for the letter she held out to me. Though it had been written over thirty years before, it looked brand new. I did not hear my mother leave as I took the letter from the envelope, unfolded it, and began to read.

Anya

I write to you now in what will be our first and final hours together to let you know how much I love you. It rips my heart to shreds to have to give you up, but in order to protect you from those who would do you harm, I let you go.

I have researched the suitable families here on Sycoria and I know the Suffields are the best one for you. They will give you a loving, stable home where I cannot. Rest assured, if times were not as they are my precious daughter, you would remain with me until we were both old and gray. Knowing that you will be safe and that you will have someone to rock you and ease your fears when I cannot helps dull the pain searing through my heart.

I want you to understand Anya that I am not giving you up because I don’t want you or don’t love you, but because to keep you would mean endangering your life. I have anticipated your arrival from the moment I knew you were coming and you will always be in my mind and heart no matter what separates us.

My union with your father was forbidden, both of us being Jedi Knights, but from the first time we met as children in the Temple there has been a connection between us. At first I couldn’t stand him, for he was so damned sure of himself. As time passed, however, I found myself thinking more and more often of his eyes that seemed to see through to your very soul and the smile that could melt the coldest of hearts.

Though many saw your father as cold and unfeeling, I knew better. His warmth and generosity knows no bounds. When we finally gave in to and admitted our feelings for each other, your father did something no one would have ever thought him capable of. He defied the mandates of the Jedi Council and took me as his wife.

By this time, the Clone Wars were at their height and the Jedi were being hunted. We knew we would have very little time together, but we made every moment count. In our last days together, just before I came to Sycoria, you were conceived. Conceived through a love so bright and deep that not even death will break its spell.

If sometime in the future the Force grants me the blessing of seeing Obi-Wan Kenobi again, I will tell my husband of our daughter and what I am doing to preserve your life. Force willing, maybe we will all meet face to face. If not, then we shall meet when the Force has called us all home.

If you are reading this Anya, then I know you have found that special someone who completes you as your father completes me. Hold on to him tight my daughter and never let him go. The love you share will sustain you through the good and the bad.

Be well my daughter and be happy. Always know that your father and I love you and miss you very much and only want what is best for you. The Force will be with you always Anya.

Your Loving Mother
Siri Tachi Kenobi

I read the letter three times before I fully comprehended it all. Within the space of ten minutes I had gone from knowing absolutely nothing about my biological parents, to knowing their names. I was completely stunned. I didn’t know whether to jump for joy that I finally knew, or sob my eyes out for the fate I knew had befallen my Jedi parents. I settled for once more relaxing into meditation, immersing myself completely in the bright energy that was my birthright from them.

My father was my future husband’s Master. I had heard Luke speak of Obi-Wan Kenobi many times and each time I always caught myself thinking it would have been nice to meet him, to meet the man responsible for Luke’s introduction to the Force. What would Luke’s mentor think of him marrying his daughter? Would he be happy for us?

<Yes my child I am happy for you and Luke. Live your life to the fullest my daughter and always remember that we are watching over you.>

The voice drifted through my meditating mind and even though I had never met him, I knew that it belonged to my father, Obi-Wan Kenobi. I was blessed three fold on this my wedding day. I was marrying the man of my dreams and I had received messages from both of my birth parents.

Luke needs to know these things, needs to know who my parents were, but I will wait a few days, give my own mind time to fully assess my new knowledge. Finally, I let sleep claim me, being sure to set my internal alarm so that I would be on time for the most important event of my life.

I hope you guys like this chapter. This may be the last chapter for a while because I am having some health problems and I am not going to be able to write until I get those cleared up. Please give me lots of feed back, I am going to need the inspiration when I start writing again. Please be patient everybody, I will finish this.
