RE: Noise (L/M vignette)
Well, not quite de-lurking, as I've never read this before, but beautiful work with this viggie.
Luke and Mara in their characterizations as a pilot and a mechanic, respectively, was interesting. Too often you see Luke as the "patient Jedi master" and Mara as the "fiery-tempered former assassin"
But you managed to encorperate those facets of their personalities with others- in this case pilot and mechanic. And the reminder that Luke
was
a Rogue pilot was especially gratifying for me.
Anyway, great job with this. It's a very engaging snapshot of life with the Skywalkers/Solos/Jade, and I enjoyed it very much.

Delurking or not, I'm always happy to see a new reader.
I couldn't agree more about the usual two-dimensional stereotyping of Luke and Mara. While Luke and Mara
are
a patient Jedi Master and a fiery-tempered former assassin, respectively, they're also a great deal more than that. They're both very complex and accomplished people, and I always prefer to see them treated as such. So of course I'm very pleased to hear that you think I did so myself.
Thank you so much for reading!

"That niece of yours is never setting foot on my ship again, Skywalker," Mara spat
"Sure, and then who would you yell at?" Luke shouted back.
I think Luke needs to learn when to just keep quiet and take the brunt of Mara's anger
Mara gave him a smile of grim satisfaction, and held up the hydrospanner, which now sported a dent in its side. "Sometimes the old-fashioned way really does work best."
I was going to say something earlier about Jaina inheriting her father's mechanical skills of fixing something and it not working, but bashing something is right out of the Han Solo mechanic's handbook
"There wasn't anything stronger?" she asked,
That was great,
Gabri
, conisder me impressed
Funny, well written, and definitley different (how often do you read a Luke/Mara viggie that isn't mush?). But what I liked best was your characterization of Mara. Honestly one of the best I've ever read, capturing her gruffness and wit perfectly. The banter between her and Luke was priceless and her fuming or little Jaina's tinkering was a great source of humor/tension
Anyway, really enjoyed it
I'll have to read the sequel now...

YodaKenobi:
What fun would Luke have if he just kept quiet?
And Mara is practical enough to go with what works.
While I adore well written mush, Luke and Mara are far more than that. They have such a great chemistry; it seems a shame to not utilize it more widely than just mush.
I'm glad you like the characterization.
Mara is definitely my favorite character, and I have more fun writing her than anyone else. It's good to know that I got her down.
Thanks so much for reading! I appreciate it very much.
