RE: The Second Sith War-Part Four now included (From the Adventures of Anakin Solo; post-NJO AU)
Jedi Master Emya Sinto sighed as she sent Anakin her latest intelligence update. The droid he'd encountered had been sighted by Resistance soldiers on Glee Anselm; that was the last scrap of information she had.
She stood, stretching her lithe body. She was a rarity among her kind, a blue-skinned Twi'lek. She may have been forty, but she looked a ten years younger; she was proud of how good she looked.
Perhaps Anakin would notice her, finally..
~~
Ben lay flat in the ruins across from the Sith base. He'd been in this crawlspace for a day now, watching for any sign of Raithar. He'd caught a glimpse earlier, but simply wanted to be sure, as well as recon the base defenses. There were five guard towers; none posed a serious threat, as well as a company of Malengi soldiers.

RE: The Second Sith War-Part Four now included (From the Adventures of Anakin Solo; post-NJO AU)
Anakin's ship landed on Glee Anselm. He sat in his fighter a moment, silently thinking.
On the way here, he had had a vision. Completely out of nowhere, it had taken him by suprise with it's clarity and intensity..
Anakin sensed he wasn't himself; what was his name? Ni-he wasn't sure. He stood before a colossal Tower; he felt some deep connection with it, indeed with the planet he was on. What was this place..it felt so eerily like home.
Anakin/whoever-he-was turned his attention back to the Tower. Half of it glowed white; the other, pulsating red & black. he went to the door-
-he was inside the Tower's uppermost chamber. Two evil beings regarded him from across the room. One he knew, seemed to have always known.
The other...who was he? Anakin/nothimself wasn't sure. he drew his lightsabre and advanced towards them.
"Beware the choice, Jedi," a feminine voice said from somewhere. it was old yet young, unfamiliar...but not.
"Who are you?" he asked.
"I am the Jinnmatre. Come and see me anytime,"
And the vision ended.
Anakin stared out at the landscape. Lots of water, a few dots of land here and there. And yet..he knew where his target might be.
~~
Ben ate another ration bar. He'd seen his target twice more, along with lowered security.
It felt like a trap. He knew it probably was, but he could not resist any longer.
Ben slipped out of the crawlspace. Making himself dim in the Force, he started into the base.

RE: The Second Sith War-Part Four now included (From the Adventures of Anakin Solo; post-NJO AU)
Mor'ga was one of the gate guards here at the Sith base on Nim'tar. Primarily an intelligence post, it was lightly guarded-particularly since Lord Raithar had arrived.
There had been a security battalion-nearly two hundred men- assigned to guard this place two weeks ago. Now, Lord Raithar had killed nearly forty officers for incompetence and transferred several others to the front.
So when Mor'ga saw a lean, tall sillhouette coming up towards him, he immediately stiffened, believing it to be raithar.
But-no. No face mask; this...person? Had a lean face, eyes burning with hate.
"Halt where you are," he shouted, brandishing his weapon as the other guard came close.
The man didn't so much as slow down.
"I said-"
And then the man moved, a lightsabre flashing through 360 degrees as the man cut him neatly in two.
Jedi...
The alarms sounded.
~~
Ben ran into the base. A dozen soldiers came running at him. He snarled, taking them apart-one with a burst of Force Lightning, three with the sabre, the rest by dropping a building on them. He was being shot at from everywhere, easily blocking and dodging the shots as Malengi attempted to engage him at point-blank range.
He slashed a commander across the chest-
-and then he was into the command center. A few more soldiers attacked him, and he dispatched them.
He slashed the door controls, and went inside.
Ben went up into the stairwell, onto an enclosed walkway. As he went inside, the blast door came down behind him and the lights came on.
Well. Raithar wanted him to come.
he would oblige him.
He went down the walkway, finally reaching the other end. He stepped through, into a dark room lit by red lights.
He slid off his cloak and pulled his sabre as his eyes made out a dark shape across the room.
"The Force is with you, young Skywalker....and I am impressed."

RE: The Second Sith War-Part Four now included (From the Adventures of Anakin Solo; post-NJO AU)
Ben strode to within striking distance of Raithar, boy & man sizing eachother up. Ben saw an old, dead thing of Darkness.
Raithar saw his boy, grown up. He felt a sudden surge of pride.
Ben drew his sabre, green blade flashing into existence.
Raithar did the same, impressed with his boy's stance. He was obviously formidable.
Ben attacked first, sabre lancing thrice at Raithar. Raithar easily blocked all three strikes, sabre scarcely moving. He clenched blades with Ben, shoving him back.
Ben attacked it, yelling as he thrust at Raithar. Raithar swatted the blade down, slashing at Ben on the return, Ben ducked, only to lose his balance and nearly fall over. Raithar was on him in a second, sabre whirring. Ben stopped each slash, backing away.
"Impressive," Raithar said. "But not nearly enough. Unleash your anger. I killed your father," he said.
Ben snarled, slashing aggressively at Raithar. Raithar caught the blow one-handed, shoving him down.
Ben slowly got up, Raithar waiting for him.
"Surely you can do better," Raithar mocked.
Ben snarled again, advancing recklessly. He twirled Raithar's sabre away, going for a kill, which Raithar scarcely sidestepped.
Raithar swung at Ben from behind; Ben easily whirled out of the way, leaping back into battle with a powerful overhead slash. Raithar easily countered, twisting through a kick to the chin than knocked Ben back and then spiralling past him.
Ben brought his sabre up again, again attacking. He blocked a strike at his back and then his front, shoving Raithar's sabre down. Raithar easily recovered, taking a big swipe that Ben easily dodged, popping up again to land a blow on Raithar's shoulder.
Raithar snarled, launching bits of scenery at Ben. Ben cut one out of the air, only to be hit hard by a large pipe.
Raithar was after him in seconds, unleashing a flurry of blows that Ben barely blocked. He retreated hastily, barely blocking-
-And then Raithar plunged his sabre into Ben's thigh.
Ben screamed as the old injury exploded in pain, collapsing him to the floor.
he slowly dragged himself away from Raithar, still clutching his sabre.
"It is pointless, my Apprentice," Raithar said. "Don't let yourself be destroyed...as your father has."
Mention of his father made Ben forget the pain in his leg. He got up, attacking Raithar again.
Raithar easily blocked the wild slashes-
-and then he cut Ben's sabre out of his hands and blasted him with lightning.
Ben was slammed against the wall, landing hard. Raithar approached.
"Anakin didn't tell you what I told him, did he?" Raithar asked, pity in his voice.
Ben could hardly breathe, much less talk.
"Your father isn't dead," Raithar said.
Ben passed out.

RE: The Second Sith War-Part Four now included (From the Adventures of Anakin Solo; post-NJO AU)
Anakin made it twenty metres before he splashed into a swamp.
"Forget this," he said. Anakin took out his macrobinoculars, scanning.
From what he knew, Glee Anselm was very lightly occupied, only a few thousand troops, most of them well away from here. It was fairly heavily populated, with two native sentient species: the Nautolans, who were amphibious and primarily lived wholly underwater, and the Anselmi, who had constructed vast stilt-cities, and were not amphibious. Roughly 90% of the planet was lakes, swamps, and oceans.
Well. So much for walking anywhere.
Anakin continued scanning through his macrobinoculars, until he finally spotted a city. His binos said it was fifty kilometres away.
Anakin trudged back to his ship, lifting off seconds later.
~~
Abbadon sat in his room, utterly silent as his Master spoke to him.
"I have captured the boy," Darth Raithar said. "At the appropriate time, I will send you the signal. You know what to do."
"Yes, Master."
"There must be no survivors, Abbadon. Not even one."
"There will be none, Master."
"Good. You have my faith, Apprentice."
"Thankyou, Master."
The hologram flickered out. Abbadon turned his attention back to the intelligence his Master had sent him.
So. There were five Uminazri now; of the originals, those were the only survivors. He would have to act quickly to suprise them all, as his Master desired. He could not allow so much as a hint as to the others what was going on. Turning their own troops against them, as desirable as that might be, was not an option. They were mindlessly loyal, unable to even consider treachery.
That he might not be that different was not something he dwelt upon.
The Uminazri were clearly the biggest threat to his Master's plan. There were other Sith, of course, but those were not a threat anything like the Uminazri.
After them, probably the most dangerous were the two assassins. He'd go after them next, followed by the Acolytes.
~~
Anakin's starfighter landed just outside the city proper, floating next to a massive pillar. "R2, make sure the ship stays here," he said. "Wait for my signal."
The droid tootled in the affirmative.
Anakin started to climb.

RE: The Second Sith War-Part Four now included (From the Adventures of Anakin Solo; post-NJO AU)
Anakin patiently slipped into the city, round metallic buildings of varying heights and sizes.
Not very many people around, he thought. He gradually faded into the background, leaving his cloak behind.
And then a native saw him.
It panicked as he exploded forward, seizing him and yanking him back into the alleyway.
"Don't say anything," Anakin said through his teeth. He took the picture out. "Have you seen this man?"
"Yes. He's here."
"Where?"
"In the governor's office."
"You're going to take me there," Anakin said, waving his hand in front of the alien's face.
"Uh-yes. Yes, I will."
Anakin and his new guide stepped out.
~~
Ben awoke.
He was on a cot, in some ship. What had happened-?
Ah yes, he remembered now. He'd tracked down Raithar. Fought him.
And lost.
Well. He wasn't dead, which meant he was probably Raithar's prisoner.
Good. He might be able to kill him yet. He looked around his cell.
Not much. Bare walls, a fresher, security cameras, and his cot.
On a shelf rested his sabre.
Ben's eyes narrowed as he reached out for it, the sabre shooting into his hand.
He lit the blade, and slashed at the door.
The sabre went out.
Cortosis ore! he thought angrily. Damnit!
"Brave, but foolish, Ben," a voice behind him mocked.
Ben turned; it was Raithar, or at least a hologram of him.
"Coward," Ben said. "Come down here and fight me."
"No, I don't think I'll be doing that," Raithar said. "You're being taken to see my Master."
"Oh, and why is that?"
"I want you to kill him."
"Why should I do that for you?"
"Make no mistake, Ben. The Empire is dying. Even now, it may be to late to save the galaxy from eternal domination at the hands of the Sith. However, if you go along with me, there may be a chance of both the Empire and the Sith dying together."
"Oh? How?"
"My agents are in place, ready to kill the remnants of the Sith. This, however, must take place immediately-and only-after the death of the Sith Master. Without him, they will be scattered and disorganized. If they die but he doesn't, the whole plan will be worse than useless."
"Why should I believe you?"
Raithar took his helmet off.
"Because I'm your father."
Ben nearly gasped, biting off his reflexes.
No, it couldn't be. It was a horrible trick, an illusion, surgery.
"You're lying. My father was Luke Skywalker. You betrayed and murdered him, and I will have my revenge, Ben said.
"No. Search your feelings, Ben. Reach out with them."
Ben refused.
"I will have no more of your lies, snake. You and your Master are both going to die."
Ben smashed the holoemitter.
The image flickered out.

RE: The Second Sith War-Part Four now included (From the Adventures of Anakin Solo; post-NJO AU)
Anakin and the native walked to the governor's housing.
"May I see some ID, please," the guard at the door asked.
Anakin showed him his lightsabre. The guard backed off as Anakin proceeded inside.
Anakin walked, feeling directed by the Force. He took two lefts, and then a right.
Landing pad.
Ship.
Abbadon.
Anakin ran outside, lightsabre hissing to life as the droid turned to face him, the tentacles blurring out of it's back.
The fight began.
Anakin's feet left the ground, his body spinning through the air as Abbadon struck at his legs. He landed, lightsabre a blur of motion; Abbadon blocked every strike, tentacles buzzing through the air as the two combatants disengaged.
Anakin's left hand left his sabre as a second one lept off his belt, flying into his hand. He ignited it, and rushed his opponent.
The air seemed to blur as the two combatants tore at eachother. Abbadon kicked Anakin in the face, Anakin flipped through it, whirling a blur of strikes at Abbadon. Abbadon blocked every one, then punched Anakin squarely in the face as he shot into the air.
Anakin didn't hesitate, flying into the air after his opponent. He kicked him down, landing next to him. He scissored the blades across Abbadon's throat, only to be swept off his feet by Abbadon's tentacles.
The two rolled to their feet, Anakin blocking a flurry of blows. He swiped at Abbadon's leg, cutting into it lightly, exposing bare metal.
Abbadon snarled, tentacles working furiously. Anakin blocked every attack, scissoring his sabres behind him-
-Abaddon's upper-left tentacle attempted to get in a back strike-
-and was neatly severed.
Abbadon didn't even slow down. He shoved the open power conduit into Anakin, electrocuting the Jedi as he hastily ran for his ship.
Abbadon lept into his ship, lifting off. Anakin grabbed a tracker off his belt, hurling it onto his ship.
And watched as his opponent shot into the sky.

Rin's fighter lept into hyperspace.
Yes, he would get into position for the first attack now. Lord Aguarin; commander of the Fifth Fleet and nearly a hundred million Malengi warriors, currently headquartered on Iridonia.
"That certainly was a close one," Abbadon said to himself. Ever since his encounter with the Jedi on Ord Trasi, he had been under strict orders from his Master not to kill any Jedi unless absolutely necessary. Why this was, he wasn't entirely sure. He believed that Raithar planned to emerge triumphant from dealing with the Sith Master, and bring all the Jedi into the Sith. It made sense from what he knew of his Master's past, which was very little indeed.
~~
Lord Malatos sat in his throne room, alone. This was at the top of a black tower, nearly a hundred stories above anything else, looking over the throne world he'd overseen the personal destruction of, leaving it dead and barren except for the mutated lifeforms his scientists had created.
The planet had once been called Korriban in the Sith tongue, now, he had restored it's original name to it.
Korthitan. The word mean "Land of the Shadow" in the ancient language of the Jedi, which he had once spoken, and while not nearly as great as his ancient throne world of Abyss in the Deep Core, would do for now.
In any case, he had greater things to attend to. His traitorous Apprentice Raithar believed to have his Master in the jaws of a trap, as his holo message of an hour ago left quite obvious.
Well. He had once been known as Rhathrir, the Trickster. He and Bane had been the lone survivors of the Sith purge a thousand years ago, Bane his Apprentice and masquarading as the Master. Before Bane there had been literally dozens of others who had followed him, keeping always his identity a secret known only to themselves as he attempted to bring down the galactic government of the day.
Sidious had been especially promising, had accomplished what none of the others could-the destruction of the Jedi. Once he had learnt the truth about where the real power of the Dark Side lay-under one of Rhathrir's many aliases-he had happily betrayed his Master to the Jedi and set about preparing the galaxy for his arrival. Or so he had claimed; in the end, Sidious had proven a failure. Even his attempts at locating and destroying the planet of the Jinnmatre had been unsuccessful.
And now, his current Apprentice planned to betray and overthrow him.
Very well. Let him set his trap....unaware that he is in fact the one walking into it, Malatos thought.

RE: The Second Sith War-Part Four now included (From the Adventures of Anakin Solo; post-NJO AU)
Grand Admiral Kratan stood in his flagship, the Corellia. He was looking at plans for the last defense of Coruscant. He had a hundred five ships, including two sister ships of his own flagship and seventy-three Fey'lya-class cruisers.
Despite the awesome firepower this represented, he knew that in the upcoming battle that his staff had been anticipating for the last three years he was more than likely going to be grossly outnumbered. The intelligence reports gave good indications that there were two entire Sith fleets-nearly ten thousand warships and two hundred million men-arrayed against him. In short, his only hope was of trapping the opposing force against Coruscant's planetary shield and hopefully drawing heavy blood using his fleet's generally superior long-range firepower.
They were going to lose; he knew that much. The entire fleet did. But they weren't abandoning Coruscant without a fight. The entire Senate-what remained of it, anyhow-had already been evacuated, as had the Jedi younglings, to secret colonies in the Unknown Regions, to set up a government-in-exile. Most of Coruscant's civilian population was gone too.
However, there were still roughly fifty Jedi on the planet, as well as two hundred thousand Imperial stormtroopers. They had elected to stay, even though they all knew it probably meant their deaths.
The Grand Admiral shook his head, and prepared his trap for the Malengi army.
He was going to give them a present.
A nasty one.

Master Durron walked with Emya towards the Grand Hall of the Temple
"have all the younglings been evacuated?" he asked.
"Yes, master. The last went with Boba and Julan-" she briefly thought-"Ten hours ago."
"Good. And the Knights we've selected went with them?"
"They've left too."
Kyp came up to the podium; fifty Jedi Knights, those who had elected to remain behind, watched him.
He began to speak.
"Fellow Jedi...this is our greatest test. The last battle of the Jedi lies before us. "
Kyp paused.
"But there is no death, there is the Force. We are the last fire in the galaxy; we will not go out easily."
"For a thousand generations, the Jedi have fought to defend freedom. That's what this is. It isn't an empty gesture, but a noble sacrifice. We're all going to die...."
"...But if the Force requires our deaths, let us be remembered for standing up for what's right."
The Jedi cheered.
And prepared themselves for the last battle.
~~
Abbadon's ship came into orbit around Iridonia. A proud warrior people lived here, the Zabraks; they had cast off the yoke of the Yuuzhan Vong without outside assistance, and were apparently quite some problem for the recently arrived Sith.
He noted the new Malengi troopships in orbit, and the vast dead areas below on the planet.
Iridonia was being used to grow what his Master called the new Malengi; improved warriors, taller & stronger & smarter. Evidently, nearly a hundred million on five worlds had been grown for the coming assault on Coruscant.
Abbadon smiled. There would be no upcoming assault on Coruscant.
He turned his ship downwards.
Anakin's starfighter burst out seconds later; he kept his distance, hoping to remain out of detection range as he watched Abbadon's vessel slide into the atmosphere of Iridonia.
He remembered rumors from Iridonia that during the war with the Yuuzhan Vong a dark warrior had appeared. A demon from myths of Zabrak legend that had led the people to victory over their enslavers.
Of course, Anakin didn't believe them.
He plunged into the atmosphere, following Abbadon.

Abbadon's ship led Anakin on a long journey, almost to the other side of the planet. He finally arrived near the pimrary Sith base. Anakin coldly surveyed it as he followed Abbadon.
The base looked much like any other Sith post he'd seen, all cold metal and transparisteel. Dozens of globes poked above the earth.
He knew what those were from Talos IV: Growing facilities, factories where Malengi warriors were produced. This was a huge facility...he guessed somewhere between twenty million and forty million warriors might be growing here. He would recon them after dealing with Abbadon.
He watched Abbadon's ship land in the Sith compound; he told R2 to land the ship.

RE: The Second Sith War-Part Four now included (From the Adventures of Anakin Solo; post-NJO AU)
Anakin landed not far from the growing fields, inside a sheltered cave R2 had spotted with his scanners. He reset the cloaking device and started walking towards the Sith base.
~~
Three hours later, he was finally there. Anakin dropped his cloak, leaping over the wall; he landed soundlessly on the other side. From his belt he took out a miniature probe droid; so tiny, it was scarcely the size of his fingernail. He activated it, and it flew off into the growing fields, loaded with search parameters.
Anakin started his hunt, gradually making himself less visible. For a major base, this one was quite busy; droids and Malengi of varying kinds were running about, doing all kinds of things. He began to get a 'feel' for the place: where the exits were, where the guard posts were, the command center, all sorts of things.
And then he saw his target: Walking scarcely a hundred metres away, accompanying the Uminazri in charge of the place. The two conversed-doubtless planning further atrocities-Anakin thought.
He snuck after them.
"The attack on Coruscant will happen in less than a week," Lord Aguarin was saying. "The last of the new Malengi are near ready; one final flash-memory program and they'll be complete."
"You have done well, Lord Aguarin," Abbadon said as the y entered a conference chamber. "My Master will doubtless be pleased."
"I live to serve," Aguarin said.
"What of Lord Malatos' plans for the galaxy after the war?"Abbadon said.
"Oh, we've already been approached through our sources on Coruscant by many industrial groups. They want their own Special Economic Zone for exclusive government contracts."
"Will Lord Malatos grant them that?"
"Probably. I don't see why not. If they are loyal, the Master always rewards his vassals."
Anakin peered down at them through an air grate. So, the industrialists and the Sith make alliance..this may prove useful one day.
"If it is allowed, I would like to stay here for a few days. Until the attack begins; my Master wants me on Coruscant to deal with the Jedi," Abbadon easily said.
"Of course. We have special quarters for guests; my aide will show you where they are."
"Thankyou."

RE: The Second Sith War-Part Four now included (From the Adventures of Anakin Solo; post-NJO AU)
Abbadon left the conference room, the Sith's aide leading him to his new quarters. Once alone, he activated his holoemitter.
"My friend," Raithar said. "Speak."
"I have arrived on Iridonia, Master; I am within the Sith base. I await your order."
"Good. All is going as planned. Soon, my son will kill Malatos and the Malengi army will fall into defeat."
"There is one thing, Master."
"What?"
"Solo tracked me to Glee Anselm somehow. We fought-"
"Did you kill him?"
"No. I believe he may know I am here, Master."
"If you encounter him, disable him and let the Sith deal with him," Raithar said. "Solo has meddled far too much."
"Yes, Master."
Anakin was crouched directly beneath Abbadon's window, listening to the conversation. So, Abbadon was taking Ben to Malatos.
All might not be lost...
And then he remembered why he was here. He slapped a sticky bomb on the window and pressed the detonator.
~~
Abbadon heard the
thunk
of the bomb slapping onto the window, and then the window exploded inwards.
Anakin Solo came flying into the room, sabres out.
The last duel began.
~~
Abbadon lept upright, tentacles flying into attack position. He easily turned aside Anakin's intial strikes; he grabbed him and physically threw him through the wall, Anakin tumbling to the ground outside. Hundreds of Malengi looked up, raising their blasters.
"
Entha! Sarates un klenth pada
!" Abbadon screamed, telling the Malengi to leave the Jedi alone.
He lept through the hole in the wall as Anakin got to his feet.
"Jedi, you annoy me greatly," he said.
Anakin nodded.
"I've been known to do that."
The warriors ran at each other. Anakin lept, kicking Abbadon hard in the head as he flipped off him, twisting in midair as he landed, ferociously attacking, his lightsabres blurs of motion. Abbadon swept Anakin's legs from under him with a sweep-kick, lancing his sabres downwards at the Jedi's chest. Anakin blocked them, kicking Abbadon in the lower back as he rolled to his feet.
The enemies circled, bloody and muddy.
"You killed my wife," Anakin said.
"I know," Abbadon replied.
"I'm going to kill you," Anakin said.
"Try it, Jedi."
They went at eachother again, Anakin's sabres arcing beautifully through the air to intercept and counterattack, his combat lightning-quick and smooth.
He dropped one of his sabres, seeing an opening.
Abbadon lunged at him; Anakin sidestepped, and hewed off Abbadon's tentacles at the base, followed by plunging his sabre through his back.
Abbadon gasped as the sabre plunged into him; he stopped moving. He turned his head around, regarding the man who'd put an end to him.
"I am...impressed with your skills, Jedi," Abbadon said.
"Thankyou, Rin" Anakin said. He reached out, his other sabre flying into his hand as he swept it at Abbadon's neck-
-And for Rin Abbadon, husband, father, assassin droid, the world went black.
~~
Anakin drew his sabre out of his opponent as the Malengi drew in around them.
He looked at them grimly, lightsabres in hand. There was at least a hundred around him, all armed.
Anakin decided he would die fighting-
-And then a black cloud came flying through them.
It was the
Uminazri
.
"I am impressed, Jedi. I can only assume you came to assassinate me as well," the Sith said, drawing his lightsabre.
"Well, two bad guys in one day has to be some kind of record," Anakin said.
The Sith and the Jedi shot through the air at eachother, lightsabre briefly making contact. Aguarin threw a heavy crate at Anakin, who rolled
under
it, narrowly avoiding a slash at his head. He blocked a strike at his back, bringing the Sith's sabre down to the ground. He yanked him off-balance, launching a kick at his chin as he disengaged.
Jedi & Sith whirled away from eachother, lightsabres hissing; they regarded eachother for a moment, and then Aguarin plunged back in, launching quick strikes at Anakin. Anakin narrowly dodged them all, his lightsabre grazing the Sith Lord's cloak.
Aguarin actually smiled. "Good, Jedi." His voice grew cold. "Now give in to your anger. Even if you defeat me today, the Empire will still fall,"
"There is no death, Darth," Anakin said. "Come, let's finish this."
Aguarin rotated through a fast 360 and then thrust at Anakin; Anakin easily swatted the blow aside, kicking the Sith's legs from under him as he swept the sabre out of his enemy's hand.
"Good show, Jedi," the Sith said. "Finish it."
Anakin did.
~~
As Anakin plunged his sabre into Aguarin's chest, the Malengi went crazy. They fled in all directions from the location of their Master's death, hiding and gibbering.
He ran in the opposite direction.
As he cleared the wall, he saw the growing pods again.
Millions
of Malengi were pouring out of them.
Towards him.
Anakin ran.
Far away, Malatos watched gleefully as the Jedi sprinted, his creatures in pursuit. He urged them on, urging their base emotions, making them lust for the kill.
He smiled, his lips stretching gruesomely.
Anakin fled, sabres slashing at the occasional Malengi that got in front of them.
Good Gods, it sounded like there were millions of the things behind him.
He shouted into his comlink.
"R2! Start the engines and get the ship in the air!"
He heard the comforting whistles and chirps confirming his message.
R2 watched as
the boy
ran towards the ship. He started the engines and opened the cockpit as the ship lifted off; he flew it on remote towards
the boy
. R2 did not want
the boy
to die; he reminded him of other Jedi he'd known.
And R2 was fond of his Jedi.
Anakin lept up as the ship came overhead, feet landing solidly as he scrambled into the cockpit.
"R2, make haste for Coruscant!" Anakin shouted.
The droid happily tootled back as he set the navicomputer. In seconds, they were in hyperspace.

RE: The Second Sith War-Part Four now included (From the Adventures of Anakin Solo; post-NJO AU)
Jedi Youngling Ik'lit Vaos was bored. He'd been on this stinky ship for
weeks
now, closely watched over by the older Jedi and the Mandalorians. One Mandalorian in particular was very stern. He'd caught young Ik'lit and several of his friends yesterday trying to get into the pantry, and grabbed them by their necks! He'd taken them back to Master Vatu, who had scolded them.
Ik'lit frowned, his face scrunching up. Well, he'd show that nasty Mandalorian.
"Youngling Vaos," Master Vatu rumbled from above him.
Ik'lit jumped. Master Vatu was
sneaky
.
"Yes, Master?"
"You're planning mischief, aren't you?" Vatu asked, kneeling to Ik'lit's height to look him in the eye.
Iklit hated it when he did that.
"Um..no...well, maybe...a little..."
Vatu sighed.
"Ik'lit, we've only been on this ship two days. We've got nearly four more," he said. "Have patience."
"We have not been on here just two days, Master! it's been weeks!"
Vatu sighed.
Bloody younglings...
~~
Julan Fett had come back to Coruscant early in the morning. He'd wanted to see Anakin, see how he was doing. He'd heard of the Jedi's adventure after the...thing that had murdered his wife. Defeating that creature and a Sith was impressive.
In any case, he had his father's ship, now his. Boba was pretty much retired now, happy to stay at home.
Julan walked into the Jedi Temple's main entrance, taking stock of the changes. No longer were there hundreds of Jedi everywhere; he saw them mostly in solitary groups.
Master Sinto came up to him.
"Welcome back, Julan," she said, smiling. "You're here to see Anakin?"
"Yes, m'lady. Is he here?"
"Yes, he just got back."
"Thankyou. May you give me directions?"
"Certainly."
Emya told him how to get there, and off he went.
Julan rode a turbolift up twenty levels, and got off. He took a left.
And he was there.
Julan knocked, and Anakin answered the door.
"Julan," Anakin said. "Please come in. Emya called up and said to expect you."
"Yeah, I met her downstairs."
"Yes, she's usually down there."
Julan came inside.
"The younglings are safe," Julan said. "They've been evacuated as specified, to that planet in the Unknown Regions you specified. Now..I sense there is something else you'd like to discuss."
"Yes, Julan. There is."
"What?"
Anakin's face grew old.
"The future."
