That's just my opinion. but wasn’t mine while I wrote it Dorsk 81... I was dead wrong. Exar Kun was much better and easily more influential on Kyp's life. He was also far better when portraying the grim possible futures. Bringing Kun in was nothing short of brilliant. Jaina loves me. She loves me the way I am! I must be going insane!´ He stood up again. `What happened tonight? Would the events he had seen come to pass?´ It was all so strange. No, strange is an understatement. Unbelievable comes closer! Not that Exar Kun had shown up in his room, that was plausible, but that he really believed Jaina loves him, that and she was his happiest memory. `Someone must have toyed with my mind. It must be. Who would be able to? There is Horn ... no not on the planet, Mara ... not that good that she can toy with me that easily, Skywalker ... to noble, Jaina herself ... why should she let me fantasies about her ... but perhaps that is the trick, toying with my mind and driving me insane and she could laugh about my madness.´ Feeling caged within his room, Kyp fled. His feet led him to the roof of the praxeum. Even back at Yavin he felt free on the roof. Above him were only the stars, clouds and the moon. `Does she really love me?´ “Kyp,” a female voice said behind him, interrupting his roaring thoughts. He swirled around and saw three illuminated figures standing side by side. An older man and woman who had a young man standing between them, looking much like his older version. `Now I know I am insane.´ “My dear boy you are not insane,” the voice said again. “I am. That night did it. Now I am seeing you three. He had already visited me.” Kyp pointed at the man in the middle. “Why? Why are this happening to me?” “We wanted you to show what you have done and will do with your life when you continue on this path,” the older man said. The woman said, “It’s Christmas, Kyp. Or have you forgotten? You should be happy and with a family.” “No, I haven’t forgotten, damn it. How could I forget when everything around reminds me every damn minute. And after this pestering night, how could I?” Kyp nearly screamed. “My dear son you have misunderstood all of it. They shouldn’t `pestering´ you.” “Mum, what are you three doing here? What is happening here?” the Jedi Master asked, his nerves lying blank. His brother answered him instead, “I came with a warning, did I not?” Kyp only gritted his teeth and nodded. “I told you that you are on the best way to a lonely death and nobody will miss you.” Again the Jedi nodded. “Son, we are sorry that we had to do this to you. It was the only way we could think of which would get through to you,” the older illuminated man said. “The only way to what, father?” Kyp snapped at him. “We wanted to show you that Christmas is not always pain. Miko should have reminded you of the past – how enjoying it is to celebrate it with a family, the hope of a safer future, the pain when someone left. Chewie was so friendly and guided you through the present. You are not the only one who get hurt Kyp. Others too. Especially the young woman you desire. And Exar Kun, he is the one who showed you the future. That will happen when you continue to shoot all the people out of your life. You will only become more hurt, you will cause pain if you don’t change and keep acting this way,” his father explained in a calm voice. “I know what I have seen that night!” Kyp was becoming impatient. He knew all of that but didn’t know what to do about it. “What way?” “The way you walk around, shutting everybody out, pretending to have no heart. The way you hide yourself in the fear of getting hurt again, you treat all around you like poodoo, snap at everyone and anyone who tries to befriend you, breaking through your barriers. You shut her out. I don’t understand why she still cares but she does. Don’t lose her, you silly boy!” “Why does she still care? I have nothing done to deserve her love!” “We know that. Boy do we know that. We are here to show you that you must change if you don’t want to lose the last person who cares for you. Better go. I believe there is a bottle just outside your room. She might share it with you.” Kyp stared at the three of them. They were surly right. Maybe she would enjoy it with him. His eyes sparkled with a new found hope. He nodded to his parents and appreciated what they had done to save him. It was time for him to let the past be the past and start a new. “Father, the future… the one I saw when Exar Kun was there ... Is that going to happen?” His Father smiled and his eyes twinkled. “Not if you don’t want it to be, son.” Kyp nodded thoughtfully. “Mum, Dad, Zeth,” he said, a smile playing on his lips. “Thank you for showing me and open my eyes to my surroundings. I hope I see you all again. I love you all. If you don’t mind I will go now. I have a young lady to visit.” “Good bye son. We are always watching over you. Don’t screw up again. We love you too. Always remember that.” The three apparitions vanished and only the moon lit the roof again. Kyp, still smiling, went down to his room to pick up a certain bottle of `Whyren’s Reserve´.
