Episode 1: Servants of the Sith
Chapter 1
"Guards, leave us."
Faced with the order from the emperor, Mu Tryles knew better than to tarry inside the room. With nothing more than a slight nod to the royal guard beside him, he stepped inside the turbolift. The lift door closed behind him and his fellow guard. Smoothly, the lift began moving down, then sideways.
The lift promptly stopped after less than half a minute of moving. Like it was supposed to. The bulkhead opposite the doors moved down, revealing a holoprojector. Tryles inputted his command codes on the small keyboard, and waited.
For that was his job. To protect the emperor, the royal guards were established less than a month after the emperor brought about the new order... or rather, what was to become the royal guards were established around that time. The individuals were picked from the Jedi nurseries in the great Jedi temple. The majorities of them would be less than 3 years old at the time. They were barely escorted away to safety by the clone troopers before the Jedi attacked, and slaughtered his friends.
Tryles was brought out of his deep thoughts as an emotionless female voice sounded: "authorization approved." The holoprojector showed Tryles and his fellow guard what was going on inside the throne room.
"Jedi's weapon, much like your father's. By now you must" Slaughtered their own padawans, "can never be turned from the Dark Side." Mu only remembered his own master, Master Kolar, bring his own green blade to behead one of Mu's friends, Morodia. "this don't you? strike me down with all of your hatred, and your journey toward the Dark Side will be complete!"
When Morodia screamed, Mu thought he understood at last. He knew in his tiny three year old heart that the Jedi were evil. They are all of them hypocrites, and bigots. Labelling all those who dared oppose them, spreading opinions other than their own to be of the Sith. But they themselves were evil. The facts have proven it. Only the Sith can save the galaxy from their evils. Only in the Dark Side will he be able to save the innocents.
The Jedis would have cut down all of the clone troopers and killed every one of them, had not Senator Palpatine intervened. The senator has courageously shielded the children as he put forth his hands in front of him, and unleashed a tentacle of force lightning. The Jedi, when struck, vanished into thin air, and their lightsabers clattered to the ground.
They were saved.
That had been almost 20 years ago.
"Fool, only now, at the end, do you understand?"
Mu watched in silent awe as the emperor put forth his hands, much like as he was when saving the Jedi children. Tentacles of blue lightning struck the young rebel, the embodiment of evil.
"Father, please!"
What can the rebel scum hope to achieve by such pathetic act? Lord Vader must know that the evil must be destroyed.
But the unthinkable happened. Mu watched in horror as Lord Vader grabbed Emperor Palpatine from behind, and tried to throw the emperor over a power shaft. Yet the emperor was strong, and turned just in time to land a quantum of lightning energy into the traitor. It was a hit that pushed the traitor backward a solid seven steps.
Mu and his fellow guard watched with fascination as the emperor diverted his fury of justice upon the traitorous Lord Vader.
--sh. Lord Vader breathed his last, and slumped backwards to fall prostrate on the ground of the throne room. A metallic clump could be heard via the holoprojector's sound system. Mu's smile of triumph quickly died however, as the previous limp form of Luke Skywalker seems to move his hand.
Luke was awake. He didn't know why the blast from Palpatine ended momentarily, but soon he came to his senses. To his horror, Palpatine was unleashing force lightning upon his father. His father was prostrate on the ground. Yet Palpatine still poured lightning to the corpse, absorbed in the task, as though he still though Vader was alive. It was all the time Luke needed. He began to call the force to him. His eyes were on the glove of the Dark Lord of the Sith, which he had cut from his father's body but a moment before.
The emperor was still cackling when Anakin Skywalker's red lightsaber flew free of the glove and activated. It ran through the emperor with a snap hiss. The emperor froze. And Dark Side energy started to pour out from his body. Lightnings poured forth and struck everywhere. Support beams flew every which way. Luke noticed that the first support beam struck the turbolift the royal guards stepped into, and the door cracked and twisted. It was not going to open in a hurry. He will have to find an alternate way out of the throne room.
Luke struggled toward his father.
"Luke, help me take this mask off."
"But you'll die."
"Nothing can stop that now, just for once, let me look unto you with my own eyes."
Luke piloted the lambda class shuttle out of the DEATH STAR just as it was exploding. Grief tored at him as he manipulated the controls. At the same time, he was happy. At last the emperor was destroyed. Finally the galaxy can know freedom once more. He saw with satisfaction as what remained of the Imperial Fleet jump into hyperspace.
He landed the shuttle on Endor, and checked on all of the supplies onboard.
There were just enough hiking gears to enable him to rendezvous with the others. Good. Yet at the same time, he felt something was wrong. He had been unable to move Anakin Skywalker's body from the throne room. The small crawl space from which he escaped did not allow it. Yet he distinctly remembered packing three survivor pack onto the shuttle. It wasn't something he intentionally did, but just because there were three packs in the nearest compartment he found near the launcher bay.
There were only one now.
/edit sorry for the amount of editing this particular post has experienced, but I finally found time to fix all of those appostrophe problems. The content of the story remains unchanged.

Episode I.
Chapter 2
"No!" Mu Tryles wailed as the holoprojector showed the lightsaber cut down Palpatine. It had to be a bad dream. Tryles was frozen unbelieving the spectacle. He tried to move his hands in an attempt to reach the controls, to make the turbolift return to the throne room, but he found himself paralysed. He was stuck as anger and hate filled the void inside. Only his hatred for the Jedi can save the emperor. He tried to let the hatred flow through him, but was unsuccessful, because he also experienced something else.
Along with the feeling of loss and sadness came compassion. Tryles struggled with his feelings, surely the Jedi was influencing him, for the strength of the Sith flowed from the hatred, and hatred was a powerful ally. There was no place in a Sith's heart for compassion. The Jedi, Luke Skywalker must be destroyed. Only then can the Jedi pay for what they did. They do not deserve compassion. A Sith's powers flow through the hatred. Jedis use compassion to corrupt. Let the hate flow through you.
While Tryles was struggling to bring the dark side to his aid in an attempt to overcome paralysis, the other royal guardsman was much more cool-headed. Tryles did not notice the other guardsman input commands on the holoprojector keyboard. It took him a full minute to realize that something was wrong.
The turbolift was not returning toward the throne room. In fact, it was going the other way, toward launcher bay 071. The emperor was being betrayed. "RU-476, what are you doing?" demanded Tryles. He levelled his force pike toward the treacherous guardsman. "We must go back to help the emperor, the evil Jedi must be destroyed!"
"It is already too late, we must serve the emperor by living to another day." Mu caught a glimpse of RU-476's hand gesturing. "I will not standby while a rebel scum escape!" screamed Tryles in his head. Instead he heard a monotonous voice mutter: "It is already too late, we must serve the emperor by living to another day." He pushed the trigger on the force pike. He was surprised to see it drop to his side in a moment, without going off. In the mean time, he heard something else. "RK-301, you will follow me now, without question." I will do no such thing! "I will follow you now." A familiar but still monotonous voice filled Tryles's ears.
"Wedge, how have you being?"
"Luke! I didn't expect you to be calling at this hour." Wedge Antilles, Fleet Command general of the New Republic, yawned groggily. He hadn't realized he fell asleep at his desk. Again.
"I'm sorry I woke you at this hour, Wedge, but the traffic controller for Coruscant main seems a little edgy, it seems a Victory Star Destroyer calling at this particular hour isn't quite the norm these days.
"I'll say. Tell you what, I will presently have you arrested for violation of New Republic bylaw GZ7-89, be prepared to land in the landing bay designated for you. A general will be escorting you to confinement."
"In other words, you'll personally be at the landing bay in half an hour, with the rogues acting as the proper greeting committee, right?
"How did you know?" Wedge couldn't suppress a smile.
"Besides," Wedge continued: "They need the exercise, Corran has complained that the squadron was performing below par in the simulators."
"More likely they failed to fly in formation as specified in the X-Wing Parade Show Manual, right?" Wedge could swear he heard chuckling at the other end.
"Hey! Would I badmouth my own squadron?" Wedge feigned hurt before continuing onto the real business, "What's the Deliverer of Justice doing at Coruscant anyway?"
"Well, I decided that some of the padawans needed a field trip of a sort. We could do all sorts of exercises on Yavin 4, but there's no better exercise than real experience. Mara and Kyle Katarn is temporarily in charge of the rest of the academy while I'm here.
"That's the official version." Remarked Wedge.
"That's the official version," confirmed Luke, "In reality, Mara's here with me, along with the academy's best Jedi Knights. I need to speak with the council about the new outbound flight project."
"The academy's best Jedi Knights?" asked Wedge. "Why would you need them? Forget it, I don't want to know. Crazy Jedi stuff right?"
"Right, to tell you the truce, I'm not quite sure myself."
"I'll see you in half an hour Luke."
"Thanks Wedge, I appreciate it." Luke signed off.
"What is thy bidding, my master?"
A hologram of Darth Genara appeared before the Dark Lord of the Sith. She is shown kneeling on the communication platform. The cloaked figure communicating with her allowed itself a mental smile. A female apprentice, a Dark Lady of the Sith someday? She certainly looked promising. Should it be allowed to come to pass? Toying with the idea, the cloaked figure spoke with a voice that was like dry twigs.
"There is a disturbance in the force."
The voice that answered was quite the opposite, almost melodious
"I have felt it."
"Anakin and Shmi Solo have begun their training on Yavin 4. The two of them must not become Jedi."
"It could be easily arranged, soon Mara Jade Skywalker will no longer be able to help them."
"Do not underestimate the Jedi, my apprentice, it could be your undoing."
Darth Genara was silent. Does not her master approve of her analysis of the situation? Surely he has foreseen it. She herself has foreseen the sequence of events. Was it a test then?
"Should a vision of what will happen to the Second Outbound Flight reveal itself to Luke Skywalker, he will become cautious. He will be on his guards. You know what must be done to ensure our success."
"That is so, master."
"Rise, my friend."
Genera did as the hologram of her master flickered out of existence. So, it was as she suspected, he too shared the vision. It was time. She allowed herself a thin smile as she donned her mask, and pulled her own cloak¡¯s hood on her head. She didn¡¯t like the mask very much. Only at her master's insistence does she wear it. One day, perhaps, it would change.
Luke Skywalker tried another calming technique before facing the Senate of the New Republic. He did not like to face the bureaucratic senators. Yet he has to, lest the object of his vision come true. It was a disturbing vision. He will need all the diplomatic tricks Leia had bothered to show him during their mutual free times. These were few and far in between. How do you do it? Luke asked Leia mentally, and got a mental message from Leia, Just get in here.
Luke did as he was bidden, and after he presented his case, the senate erupted. How did it come to this? Wondered Luke. Not again.
"Are you saying, Jedi Skywalker, that you expect us to fund another one of your crazy Jedi exploits?" Councillor Borsk Fey'lya's fur rippled, and his violet eyes gleamed. "When you asked the council just last month to provide the Jedi Academy with two Star Destroyers for protection against the Vagaari, you will remember that I supported it when members of the council disagreed. But now you expect us to fund for an entire fleet to explore outside of the galaxy, based on a need demanded by a Jedi vision that only you can see. Forgive me for not understanding your needs fully. Fey'lya's fur ripped further as he relinquished the microphone, and sat down on his hover platform, beside his fellow councillors.
"The need is real, according to my vision, if another outbound flight project isn't sent to explore outside of the galaxy, a darkness more terrible than the Vagaari will befall ours, and sweep across until our way of life is utterly destroyed!" Luke tried to remain calm, as good a job as Leia has done as the President, the Senate is still slowly turning into a bureaucracy. Luke felt helplessness emanating from Leia. But before either he had a chance to speak again, he was interrupted by another voice.
"Don't try to scare us with your sorcerer's ways!" Luke Skywalker recognized the voice as that of D'weetan, the senator from Bpfasshi. "The Vagaari has just recently been neutralized. It's one thing to conjecture the possibility of continuous alien invasions while you sit down in front of a holodrama for entertainment, it's quite another to suggest that it in real life. Don't you realize that the Jedi is trying to trick us to put more funding into military expansion in a bid to further their influence? The Jedi must not be trusted! Even now he is trying to decrease the funding for domestic life! Which by the way, Bpfasshi still hasn't received its fair share in the Educational Tax Cuts of..."
The list of complaints by the Bpfasshi senator was rudely interrupted. "Please senator D'weetan, if there is any chance at all that a danger looms on the edge of the galaxy, I for one would like to know more about it earlier, before it can know our weaknesses and strike." That voice came from Bel Iblis, the senator from Correlia.
"I motion we set up a special committee to analyze the situation!¡± an outburst came from the Twi'lek senator, his lekku twitching on his shoulderes. Arn Hakee Daa is the most self serving senator in the bunch, Luke knew, no doubt he will try to head this committee, should it come to pass, and gain further political influence. Here we go again, Luke thought, it's becoming more of a bureaucracy as days go by. He really should talk to Leia, in private.
"And allow time to be wasted until the next alien invasion? I think not!" Bel Iblis was quick in the rebuttal. The brutality of the Vagaari invasion was fresh on everyone's mind. Luke heard the Wookiee and Noghri senators along with some others burst in applause. At least I still have support. No sooner has the sentiment come to pass than the Bpfasshi senator rallied his own troops in a chorus of boos. Out of the corner of his eyes, Luke saw Fey'lya's violet eyes gleam some more.
"Order, Order!" yelled the secretary of state, Cal Omas. The senate will now vote. Jedi Skywalker, please excuse yourself from the surroundings.
"Hey Farmboy." Luke smiled as he looked onto Mara, who was coming into the apartment, with two large shopping hovers behind her. "How was the show?"
"Same as always." Replied Luke as he joined his wife in an effort to unload the heavy hovers.
"That bad, huh?" "Yeah, I don't think I can take another one of those sessions."
"In any case, we'll be able to know the result officially in a few days." Mara informed Luke: "Unofficially though, Leia has already passed on the information that it's approved "Oh, that's great news." "Maybe, but something still bothers me though."
"Remember that other vision I had after the one about the darkness? The one that you yourself tried to see but got the same result?"
"You mean the one where we saw a New Republic fleet getting inside an asteroid field?"
"Yeah, that's the one, I still don't think the vision was complete. It's as if a holodrama got paused and we never saw the whole show."
Inside the Correlian Frigate Gantos VII, a masked and cloaked figure sat in the meditation chamber, and flicked a few controls.
"What is your report, my apprentice?" A voice full of malice filled itself in the chamber.
"My master, the Skywalkers have attempted to see the future of the second Outbound Flight Project. They have failed."
"Excellent. You have done well, Lady Genara. When will you be able to arrive on Yavin 4?"
"In two days, my master."

Darth Genara carefully sifted through the information. Her informant, a Commander Zatrian Antus, has done well, and has been properly rewarded. Genara pondered what would happen. Considering that Antus is supposed to be on vacation, it will be a while until he is missed. When the New Republic intelligence finally found out that their most important go between has been compromised, it will be too late for the Jedi. But first, the Second Outbound Flight project has been formally approved, according to plan. Now all she has to do is find a way to stow her spy onto one of these ships. But which one should it be? It doesn't matter really, she thought. Right now what is important is that she gets this information to her master.
Lara Notsil decided she was going to have a talk with Face. She deserved this vacation on Naboo. It took her seven months of pay to reserve the hotel, and it's not as if she didn't earn it, what with the last job on Antar 4. She nearly spent a month in the hospital, no thanks to Face. Now that she's finally able to relax at the Naboo lake retreat, her rest was interrupted, again. How typical.
Suppressing a sigh of exasperation, she switched on the secure two-way comlink.
"Commander Antus?" Lara remembered her contact's name.
"Yes, Lara it's me."
"You better have a good reason for interrupting my vacation, Zatrian."
"Hey, I'm not responsible for making that decision, don't kill the messenger. It was Face's idea to call everyone's vacation off on a whim", Zatrian Antus soothed, "anyway, Face wants you to report to the Fleeting Blockade Runner at 0740 hours tomorrow. He will meet you there with further instructions."
Inside The Fleeting Blockade Runner, it was very dark. No sign of Face. Lara noticed that there was a bunch of Gran slouching at one of the tables, slipping Naboo wine. Two Biths were sucking and blowing on their flutes in the center of the establishment. A bar tender was busy serving drink to a group of Whippids.
Lara sat down on one of the few unoccupied tables. A hologram of young human girl appeared at the centre. "How may I help you? Would you care to look at the menu?"
"Thanks, but I'm looking for the one with the deals." Lara answered the hologram. It was her code for establishing contact. The hologram responded: "The men with the deals are often busy."
"You are mistaken, I meant to order the Dealian Onadan Wine."
"Of course." With that, a cup filled with the order came into being on the table.
Now that she gave all of the correct authentications, she sipped her wine, and waited for Face. She felt something was wrong before she had a chance to put down the cup back onto the table.
One of the Whippids began to argue with the bartender. Something about his order being wrong. The bartender, surprisingly, faced with the possibility of dismemberment by the said whipped, is still indignant. It looked like a fight was going to ensue.
Hell of a time and what a place to pick for a meeting. Thought Lara as she tried to remain calm in her seat. Blast it Face, where are you?
The fight began in earnest now that the Whippid struck a blow on the side of the bartender¡¯s head. Reeling, the bartender signalled his bouncers by a sharp whistle. Half a dozen tough looking men surrounded the troublesome Whippid and his friends. Punches landed and kicks were placed. Soon enough, projectiles were thrown about as the whippids began to retaliate in kind. Bar patrons began to run for cover.
Time to leave this party. Lara stood up and headed for the exit. She felt a hand on her shoulder just as she was reaching the threshold. A tough, gnawed hand by the feel of it, she suddenly had a very bad feeling rising from the pit of her stomach.
A boyish voice surprised her. "Come back into the establishment. No one may leave." Not if I can help it. Lara tried a move that should have brought her stalker to his knees, but was surprised to find that it was ineffective. The figure behind her didn't even twitch at the attack, only his hold on her shoulder became tighter. Lara winced at the pain.
"Do not force yourself to be destroyed. We mean you no physical harm, but that could change." The voice spoke again. Lara was surprised at the youthfulness of the voice. All right, if you want to play... She started the pre-activation switch of her sleeve blaster.
"Come back and sit at your seat." Repeated the voice.
When Lara returned to her seat, she noticed that every patron who still remained in the bar was passed out on the floor, even the Whippid and the bartender. The bouncers were sprawled prostrate around the bar. She got a closer look at her attacker. The only people remaining conscious inside the establishment beside her was seven cloaked figures.
"Who are you and what do you want?" demanded Lara. Don't panic, wait for your chance. Make sure he keeps talking. A talkative enemy always makes a mistake.
To her chagrin, all seven of the cloaked figures remained silent. Her attacker pulled his hood back, allowing her to take a closer look.
The boy had brown wavy hair. His eyes are black, as dark as the Kessel night. In contrast, his complexions are as pale as death.
The silence became deafening.
Presently the boy spoke once more. "You will come with us."
"And if I refuse?"
The boy made no vocal response, but simply gestured his hands around the bar to make his point.
Lara activated her hidden sleeve blaster.
The hologram flickered to life, showing the cloaked form of her master. Darth Genara once more knelt on the communication platform.
"Phase one of our plan has been carried out, my master."
"Excellent, I trust that the target is cooperating sufficiently."
"Yes my master, although not without a cost, our best prototype was disabled in the mission. It will be a while before he will be able to carry out another mission."
"It is of no concern. Soon we will no longer need our little guinea pig. Soon another will walk among us. And when she does so, you must bring her before me. Only in my presence can she be made to understand and perform her mission adequately. Then, and only then, you will dispose of all those that are unnecessary. Carry out my will, my promising apprentice."
Shmi Solo could not wait for the day to begin. She did not sleep at all during the night. She was simply too excited. Now if only she can convince Anakin to abandon his beauty sleep, they could explore the jungle together.
"But I don't want to explore the jungle. Uncle Kyle will be mad at us. I'm pretty sure he's still mad at us for last night." complained Anakin groggily, "Did you remember the look on his face when you brought up the joke that will no longer be mentioned for ever more?"
"You mean that if he wore a blinder over his eyes he would look so very much like Jerec?"
"Ahem!" The throat clearing emanating from their door startled both of the twins. Kyle Katarn stepped forward, "Anakin, Shmi, I just wanted you to know that when Jaina and Jacen were spending their time under my tutelage, they behaved so much nicer."
"Oh come on Uncle Kyle, we are not so bad!" complained Anakin, "All the mischief was Shmi's idea, honest! Look, I'm studying the Jedi lore just as you told us to." All the while Anakin was covering up the cover. Somehow he didn't think the book's title would amuse Kyle Katarn, Jedi master, much.
"I just thought you two would want to know that the supply for the next month have just touched down. Knowing you two, you probably want to raid the Gantos VII's..."
He didn't even finish the statement before he realized that the twins were gone, their bed unmade. Kyle Katarn sighed deeply. Even though Master Skywalker's second set of nephew and niece were strong in the force, they are still kids. Bah! Kids.
The frown on Kyle Katarn's face got considerably deeper when he read the title of the book Anakin Solo has been reading. "How to Drive your Jedi Master Crazy while you are Young" by Jaina and Jacen Solo.
Oh well, for the next three hours at least, the wrath of the twins will be unleashed upon Captain Lumi Quelwalker of the Gantos VII instead of poor old Kyle Katarn.

RE: The M77 Saga Updated March 20, 2005 AU, Post Survivor's Quest, OC, action packed update
Chapter 4
The Jedi came during the night. Through their sorcery they kicked open the duracrete door with no effort. Scores of figures in brown robe came into the household. They viciously ripped the wall of the bedroom. The Jedi thus murdered~{!-~}
Darth Genara once again allowed herself a thin smile. Phase 2 has been successfully carried out, seemingly without effort. She once more looked at the ancient Spaarti cylinder, and locked her gaze on the seemingly lifeless figure floating in the brown liquid. The cloning solution almost entirely obscured the figure~{!/~}s shape, but Genara knew that even now the subject~{!/~}s eyes are rapidly moving in its slumber. It will soon be completed, and specimen AL-X13 would no longer be needed. Soon.
~{!0~}Captain Quelwalker, this is the bridge, we are coming up on Yavin 4.~{!1~}
~{!0~}Thank you lieutenant, prepare my shuttle, I will meet the tech crew in the launcher bay shortly.~{!1~}
~{!0~}Aye Sir~{!1~}
Darth Genara hated this more than anything else in the galaxy. To walk among people whom she hated, shaking their hands, putting on smiles for their entertainment. Laughing at their despised jokes. This is the last time, Genara reminded herself. Once Phase 3 is carried out, She will finally be able to renounce this charade, and reveal her real identity in the face of her enemies. At last I will reveal myself to Luke, at last I will have revenge.
Her reveries were suddenly by Lieutenant Candarka~{!/~}s monotonous voice over the intercom. ~{!0~}Shuttle Lithium, Piett, and Ming, you are to land in shuttle bay 73, please acknowledge.~{!1~} ~{!0~}Copy, Yavin Control, responded Meekan, the noghri pilot, ~{!0~}Lithium acknowledges, bringing her in now.~{!1~}
The shuttles from Gantos VII landed in shuttle bay 73 with no fanfare. A couple of tech crew came down to the ramp as the Lambda class shuttle opened. ~{!0~}Captain Quelwalker, it~{!/~}s a pleasure meeting you again.~{!1~}
~{!0~}Likewise Dav~{!1~}, Genara smiled at the young red haired tech crew in orange overalls. ~{!0~}How has it been since the last shipment?~{!1~} Cherish this shipment, for it will be your last.
~{!0~}Oh never better, we could use more of those Correlian brandies, Master Horn really like those.~{!1~} Does he now, too bad he won~{!/~}t live to enjoy a single drop once this operation is over.
Her dark musings, as well as the conversation with Dav, was cut short by two childish voices.
~{!0~}Oh, cool!~{!1~} What did you bring us this time, Captain Lumi?~{!1~} The sound was unmistakably that of Anakin Solo. Those Solo brats~{!-~} ~{!0~}Nothing too much fun, I~{!/~}m afraid,~{!1~} Genara told Anakin. ~{!0~}How are you, my little trouble maker?~{!1~}
~{!0~}I~{!/~}m not a trouble maker, that~{!/~}s Shmi you are talking about.~{!1~} Anakin responded hotly.
~{!0~}Of course, my mistake, where is she?~{!1~}
~{!0~}She is already in the cargo hold of the shuttles, I~{!/~}d imagine.~{!1~} Anakin said matter-of-factly. She~{!/~}s really excited with every shipment.
~{!0~}Of course, where is Master Katarn?~{!1~}
~{!0~}I am here Lumi, it~{!/~}s good to see you again.~{!1~}
~{!0~}Kyle, I wondered when you will show yourself.~{!1~} Genara approached the Jedi Master. ~{!0~}It feels like ages since we last seen each other.~{!1~}
~{!0~}Yes it does seem that way. I~{!/~}m sorry about Gevan.~{!1~}
Genara let her face show sorrow. I don~{!/~}t know how much of this I can take. She allowed herself to be hugged by Kyle Katarn. ~{!0~}I should have been with him, Kyle, I wasn~{!/~}t supposed to be on vacation when he rammed into the Vagaari carrier~{!-!1~} The rest of her statement was drowned out in tears.
~{!0~}Don~{!/~}t blame yourself. Gevan did what he thought was right. He saved everyone in that convoy. If that carrier wasn~{!/~}t taken out when it was~{!-!1~} Katarn stopped. ~{!0~}I~{!/~}m sorry Lumi. I just~{!-!1~}
Genara stopped her tears, just then, she realized that not everything about this charade was false. Lumi actually did love Gevan Quelwalker. Darth Genara cared about~{!-~} Must not use the dark side to sustain yourself when face to face with a Jedi master~{!-~} She must obey her master, no
In a moment Genara took control of herself again, and was once more the straight to business starship captain Lumi Quelwalker. ~{!0~}Shipment # 5033 arrived on schedule, Master Katarn.~{!1~}
~{!0~}Yes, of course Captain Quelwalker.~{!1~} Kyle Katarn himself once more assumed a cold expression. ~{!0~}Dav and Ben here will unload the supplies. Meanwhile, will you join me for dinner?~{!1~}
~{!0~}Yes~{!1~}
The Jedi came during the night. Through their sorcery they kicked open the duracrete door with no effort. Scores of figures in brown robe came into the household. They viciously ripped the wall of the bedroom. The Jedi thus murdered father and mother. They took away sister~{!-~}
Genara settled into the stone quarters she had been assigned for the night. If Phase 3 were to be successful, she had to accomplish many things in a matter of 8 hours. That did not leave much time for leisure. She reached into her pocket and withdrew a cylinder, and clicked and turned it a few times. Presently a light flashed on the cylinder.
The light shot out of the cylinder, a Sith holocron. It congealed itself into a hologram, mere centimetres tall. ~{!0~}Who calls the mighty Exar Kun?~{!1~}
~{!0~}Master, I am Darth Genara, Apprentice to Darth Mu, Dark Lord of the Sith, We need your assistance.~{!1~}
Evil cackling filled the room. ~{!0~}Of course you do. Be prepared to embrace the power that is Exar Kun.~{!1~} It~{!/~}s only a holocron, Genara reminded herself, now even Exar Kun~{!/~}s spirit doesn~{!/~}t exist anymore. Still, goose bumps formed between Genara~{!/~}s shoulder blades. Fear is of the dark side. Let it flow within you. Genara thought she felt better.
~{!0~}Great Lord, I need ways to disable the temple~{!/~}s security system. Only you can tell me of the way to do it properly.~{!1~} Genara implored the holocron.
~{!0~}Captain Quelwalker, who are you talking to?~{!1~} Genara froze in her tracks. Her back was to the door, and through all the concentration, she failed to notice a presence sneaking into her quarters.
~{!0~}No one, no one at all~{!-!1~} You will never leave this room alive. Genara turned around, into the curious yet innocent eyes of Shmi Solo.
~{!0~}I was merely recording my holo diary.~{!1~} Genara assured the young girl. ~{!0~}What can I do for you, Shmi?~{!1~}
Shmi ignored the question, instead, she said, ~{!0~}It sounded like you were talking to someone. Can I listen to your holo diary?~{!1~}
~{!0~}No, please Shmi, I think you had enough fun for today. Why don~{!/~}t you look to see what Anakin is doing right now?~{!1~} Genara closed the distance between herself and Shmi.
~{!0~}Welcome, my young apprentice, I have been expecting you.~{!1~}
Genara abruptly turned around to face the hologram, Shmi merely stared in the same direction.
This can~{!/~}t be happening; it~{!/~}s only a holocron. This isn~{!/~}t supposed to happen.
~{!0~}Oh, I assure you, I am more than a holocron.~{!1~} The hologram said, ~{!0~}Even though you are of a form that is not my preferred candidate, I guess you will have to do.~{!1~}
~{!0~}What are you?~{!1~} the two females simultaneously asked.
~{!0~}Now hear this, I am Exar Kun, the only Dark Lord of the Sith at the present time. All Sith will listen to me. For I am Exar Kun!~{!1~}
Genara tried to draw on the dark side of the force through her fear and tried to muster aggression, but felt weaker as she did so.
~{!0~}Fool! Do you not hear what I say? I am the Dark Lord of the Sith! My servant is the Dark Side! And a powerful tool it is! Now embrace me!~{!1~}
~{!0~}Never!~{!1~} Shmi Solo withdrew her lightsaber at her side, and activated it. A golden blade of energy followed the snap-hiss. The girl charged at the holocron, and cut it once, twice, and third time. The image fizzed and refocused each and every time.
Genara felt weak at the legs, and promptly fell down cross-legged. She had trouble holding up her head, it drooped onto her chest.
Anakin! Master Katarn!
Anakin Solo cried out in his sleep. He had heard his sister cry out in pain. He was buffeted by pain and sorrow of a magnitude he never experienced before. Then suddenly as it had come, the pain vanished. He quickly put on his cloths and rushed to her quarters. No one was there, and the bed hasn~{!/~}t been slept in. He tried to call her through the force, but got no response. He became very worried. It could mean she~{!/~}s in more trouble than he had feared, but also maybe it was because they only began training a very short time ago. Anakin desperately hoped that the latter was the case. He ran through all the occupied quarters, waking up fellow padawans and Masters, in search of his sister.
He found Master Katarn coming from the opposite direction, his face grim. Kyle Katarn approached Anakin, put a hand on his shoulders. Sighed and said simply. ~{!0~}I found her, Anakin, I~{!/~}m sorry.~{!1~}
~{!0~}Where is she? How is she? What happened?~{!1~} Anakin asked his grim faced Master a series of questions. Katarn simply shook his head slowly. Eventually he led Anakin into the quarters of Captain Lumi Quelwalker.
Captain Lumi Quelwalker sat cross-legged on the floor, her head drooping on her chest. Shmi Skywalker fell face down a short distance away, her fists tight around her non-functional lightsaber, her eyes open wide and unseeing. In the centre of the room lay a thousand pieces of metal shards.
Anakin reached out to his twin sister with the force, and found nothingness at the location of her body. Reaching, he found her carotid artery. There was an irregular pulse, a very weak one.
Master Cilghal bent over Captain Lumi Quelwalker, and tried to find a pulse, but found none. The Mon Calamari then went over to Shmi, and was greeted with better news. ~{!0~}Shmi is still alive. We must move her to the central medical laboratory at once.~{!1~}
~{!0~}You must help my sister, Master Cilghal.~{!1~}
~{!0~}We will do our best, Anakin, I promise.~{!1~}
Hundreds of light years away, Darth Mu felt a disturbance in the force. Rising from his chair, he tried to raise Darth Genara through her private communication channel. He was met with static. Then Darth Mu reached into the dark abyss of the dark side of the force. ~{!0~}My Apprentice!~{!1~} He called in vain. No response came. Suddenly, he was greeted with cackling in the seeming distance. A voice so corrupt that it would put his own dry twigs to shame. He broke contact with the force.
So it would seem that his apprentice, Darth Genara, was gone.
So he would have to find a new apprentice. He had just the right candidate.
He once more reached to the comm. presently a figure came into focus. The man wore the uniform of Alliance fleet crew.
~{!0~}My lord, Lady Genara is~{!-!1~}
~{!0~}Yes I know, dead.~{!1~}
The man~{!/~}s eyes opened wide in astonishment, but if he knew better to voice his concerns when they are unasked for. He obediently waited for his master~{!/~}s command.
~{!0~}How is the clone coming along?~{!1~}
~{!0~}Excellent, my lord, the subject has successfully absorbed the programming you supplied. It is ready for deployment. Would my lord like to say hello?~{!1~}
~{!0~}Yes, bring her before my presence.~{!1~}
A black haired woman with delicate features came to stand before Darth Mu. ~{!0~}My lord Darth Mu, My name is Laara.~{!1~}
~{!0~}My lady, it is a pleasure to be make your acquaintance.~{!1~}
I am pleased with your efforts, lieutenant. Darth Mu regarded the man, then returned his gaze onto Laara. ~{!0~}Laara my dear, you have the honour of getting rid of specimen AL-X13.~{!1~}
~{!0~}Thank you my lord.~{!1~}
Darth Mu broke the connection.

RE: The M77 Saga Updated March 28, 2005 AU, Post Survivor's Quest newly updated!
A lone figure was in the cylindrical tank. Laara noticed as she approached the brownish tube. Yes, that was it, Laara decided, a normal bacta tank would be filled with pink bacta, clearly this was not the case.
The newly made clone approached the tank slowly; an expression of curiosity was evident on her face. She could make out a prostrate form half hanging, half slumping against the side of the tube. A 1-twobee droid swivelled to face her as his proximity sensors detected a nearby presence.
“Good morning, mistress, dropping by to see the subject?”
“Yes, Beetwo,” Laara smiled at the droid, knowing that the droid was reprogrammed according to Lord Mu’s instructions. “You have done well with our wonderful subject. You may shut down now.”
“But mistress, I am programmed to watch over subject ALX-13 by captain Quelwalker.” The droid was adding something else to the statement before Laara simply said: “deactivation code AL-375 Omega Nine.”
“As you wish Mistress Laara.” The droid’s photoreceptors on its head no longer gave off light. Excellent, just the way Lord Mu told her the droid will function.
Lord Mu has given her the deactivation code to the Gantos’s 1-2B droids over the last transmission. With specific instructions to terminate subject ALX-13. In fact, Lord Mu has hinted that Laara should find termination of ALX-13 to be pleasurable.
She cast her sights on the subject once again. The tube was still filled with the brown tranquilizer V. The V series of tranquilizers, normally used to sedate patients prior to surgery, had served to neutralize the subject. It also clouded the subject’s form from onlookers. Occasionally Laara could make out some strands of dark hair splashing against the transparent tube.
Now why should terminating AL-X13 bring pleasure to Laara Notsil? It didn’t make sense to Laara. Yet Lord Mu said it would, that means it will. Beside, Laara’s individual happiness does not matter under the circumstances, Lord Mu wished her to terminate a test subject, and that is what she will do.
Laara reached for the controls on the medical scanner panel, her fingers formed a shape over the lever that would send more tranquilizers into the subject’s neural system. A healthy amount that will results in severe brain damage from a Duros to a Wookiee within two minutes. In less than five minutes after the delivery, brain death will occur.
Except there was no honour in this, a voice inside Laara said, no honour in executing someone because of pleasure. Yet Lord Mu said to execute subject ALX-13. Lord Mu commanded Laara Notsil to do a simple job. Lord Mu… is just like Admiral Trigit.
Admiral Trigit. Laara was sure she heard that name somewhere… Where had she heard it? She tried in vain for the next five minutes to remember any detail about the name. And why did a voice in the back of her head say Lord Mu is similar to this Trigit? If Trigit is similar to Lord Mu, then that means he is also a man worthy of Laara’s fealty. Except, Trigit was…
Snap out of it, Laara commanded herself curtly, do your job.
“That’s quite enough lady,” Laara slowly turned around, straight into a barrel of a S-16A hand blaster and the black iris of a dark haired man. “What have you done with Lara? Blast, she took too much time, and has been discovered! “Where is she?”
Before answering the man’s question, Laara took the time to look over her adversary. Tall, one would say handsome. And his voice, it sounded familiar, yet she was sure she never met the man. Right behind him, a little to the left, was an old red and white R2 droid, with his grappler and electrode extended menacingly toward her.
The little droid beside the man emitted a series of beeps and whistles, and for a moment Laara thought the man’s eyes was wide with surprise, then the expression disappeared as soon as it took shape. “Tonin, go over and see what is in that bacta tank.” The dark haired man once again looked at Laara, “Lady, I don’t know who you are and who sent you, but you had better tell me where my wife is within the next minute, or answer to this blaster.” Pointing to the S-16A.
Suddenly, a man in ship’s crew uniform burst into the med bay, and wielding a Takaran knife, without uttering a sound, jumping, went straight for the throat of the dark haired man. The dark haired man had no time to bring his blaster to bear, and soon the two men were skirmishing on the ground, punching, kicking, twisting, and both edging for advantage as they rolled.
Laara watched as Dnin Ganbarlan struggled with the dark haired man. Right now Dnin has the upper hand. He was on top of the intruder, and was slowly bringing the blade down onto the pulsating neck flash of the dark haired man, centimetre to centimetre.
Presently the blade connected, and Laara was aware of a trickle, and then a stream of red blood flowing from the dark haired man’s wound. She thought she heard for the first time the rasps and the groans of the two struggling combatant. Within seconds the dark haired man’s eyes began to gloss over. Laara watched.
If she moved her sight slightly to the left, she would have noticed the red and white astromech droid unplugging itself from the med scanner panel, and slowly wheeling toward the two men. One of the two men was still exerting himself, the other starting to lay limp as his struggles slowly ceased. And then Laara heard the discharge of a blaster bolt, and a sharp tang of burned flesh filled the air. Both men lay still. Laara noticed the little droid called Tonin wielding the blaster the dark haired man dropped in its grappler.
The blaster’s barrel was now pointed straight at Laara’s face.
In the centre of Dnin Ganbarlan’s ship’s crew uniform, a dark spot appeared, Laara thought she smelled smoke emanating from Ganbarlan’s back. The dark haired man lay dishevelled, held in place below Ganbarlan’s corpse. His chest slowly moved up, then down, and up, down, up down…
The astromech slowly wheeled over to the dark haired man, all the while training the blaster on Laara. Its domed head rotated constantly and threateningly. When it reached the dark haired man, it produced some pink plasters from one of its many compartments and applied it onto the man’s neck. Moments passed, and the dark haired man’s complexion passed from pale to pink, then settled on a colour intermediate of the two. More moments passed, and the dark haired man slowly and weakly pushed Ganbarlan over, and sat up. The droid was still holding the blaster, and fixing it on Laara. Laara saw the bacta plaster on the man’s neck move up and down, up and down, pulsating along with the neck, as the man struggled for breath. He slowly stood up, and looked at the bacta tank. “Lara! What have they done to you?!” Laara sensed the strongest emotion within that croak.
The bacta tank! Laara thought! Termination of subject AL-X13. She looked at the bacta tank herself as if it was the first time she cast her sight on it. Inside, the brown fluid of tranquilizer V was completely drained. Yet Laara was still unable to see the subject in the flesh, except for the face. Tubes were everywhere. The only distinguishable part of the subject was the head. Sticking out of the head was a helmet with a thousand tubes. The tubes connected to other modules stuck on the subject’s arms, legs, and neck. Tubes, casts, and security rings obscured every other body part. The subject was unconscious. But one look upon subject AL-X13’s face was enough.
Beside the colour of the hair, the mark by the chin, it was her own.
The dark haired man banged the bacta tank with the back of his blaster. One crack, two crack, a spider web, and the bacta tank collapsed. Subject AL-X13 collapsed with it. The dark haired man was too weak to support her, and they both fell on the floor. Then Laara heard her own voice, “Hi Myn, glad you could join me for the vacation.” Her own voice continued, “I’m going to have a long talk to Face.”
“Shh”, the dark haired man, Myn, replied. Everything’s all right now,” Yanking the helmet out of Lara Notsil’s head. “Everything’s fine.” The astromech, Tonin emitted once more a series of beeps and whistles.
“Hi Tonin, I knew I could count on you, being the King of Droids and all.” Laara saw herself smile. Except it wasn’t herself, was it. It was unreal. It was too unreal for words.
“When Tonin told me about what happened to you…” Myn broke up. His eyes filled with tears. He tried to change the subject, “He really is the King of Droids.” “You got to alert command about what happened to me.” “Don’t you mean we?” “It’s too late for me, Myn. They did things to me, things so horrible… I can never be your Lara again.” “Don’t talk like that, you’re always going to be my Lara, We’ll always be together.”
“You, help her or die.” Myn Donos said to Laara. He must take me for a specialist who worked on her. Where was Lady Genara? Before Laara could respond, however, a boyish voice suddenly resonated through the med bay. “I am afraid no one can help her. Beside, who’s going to help you?
“Show yourself!” Donos called out. What came out was a croak.
And a boy with black eyes and hair, with a face as pale as death did.
The boy started to raise his hands in front of him, but was interrupted by another voice. “I will help them.”
Laara turned to see a salt and peppered haired man reveal himself. The man entered the med bay through the other door. “Master Katarn!” Donos said weakly: “Am I glad to see you.” Through peripheral vision, Laara saw bluish light rings in the air, coming for her. It was the last thing she saw or heard in a long time.
“Tonin, Good job, now lock down the med bay, Donos, help Lara out of all those tubes, and let me take care of this thing here.” Tonin beeped an acknowledgement, and hurried away to find the terminal, moment later, several layers of blast doors fastened themselves to the two exits of the med bay.
“If it isn’t Jedi Master Kyle Katarn,” the boy mused, “I am afraid all of you are still not going anywhere.” A black cylindrical object detached itself from the boy’s belt, and landed itself into the grasp of the boy. “You see, I am my Master’s apprentice, and I have express orders to help Unit 17 to destroy subject AL-X13, and any who stand in my master’s orders must be terminated along with her. He activated his lightsaber, and through the snap-hiss, a scarlet blade appeared. Another snap-hiss was also heard, and Kyle Katarn activated his own blue lightsaber.
“You are no apprentice, boy. Who sent you? Why are you here?”
“You will know the answers to all these questions and more, once I send you to be one with the Force. That’s what all you Jedi always say, isn’t it, to be one with the Force. Well, now here’s your chance at it. Let it be known that the Dark Side of the Force is stronger!” With this the boy launched himself at Katarn.
Kyle Katarn was in the fight of his life. While the boy did not appear have any force power, his brute strength was more than a match for any Jedi. Katarn parried the third blow, meant to decapitate him, and tried to land a kick to the boy’s stomach. The foot connected, but instead of making the boy double over as it was meant to, the boy hardly flinched, instead, Katarn’s right feet felt pain like he never did before. Yet he did not hesitate. To hesitate for mere moments meant death, at this boy’s hands, no, at this thing’s hands.
His lightsaber connected once more with the boy’s, cackling. Scarlet against indigo, the lightsabears sizzled. Even as Katarn let the force flow through him, he could feel over matched by the boy’s unending strength. The unnatural strength, coming from a boy half his size, beating him down.
He knew that sooner or later, the boy’s lightsaber would chop his body in two. If not in this strike, then the next, or the one after that. Simply because the boy’s strength was unending, and Kyle was human, and mortal.
Through clenched teeth, he scraped, “Who are you? What are you?” If he can only let the thing in a boy’s shape talk, and buy more time. After noticing the lockdown of the med bay, the Gantos’ crew would know something was wrong sooner or later. His peripheral vision noticed something grey, and round. The med bay’s 2-1B droid, deactivated, lifeless, standing… If he could move the droid and use it as a projectile, he might be able to… Katarn noticed the 2-1B droid twitch a little to the right, still standing. The boy’s scarlet blade continues to push against his own, and he felt weaker, blades slowly lowered, another millimetre lower, another millimetre, yet another… And the pressure was suddenly gone.
I have become one with the Force. Kyle thought. I have been defeated at a hand of a boy. “Master Katarn, are you all right?” Oh great, now Myn Donos just joined me in the Force. “Master Katarn?” Lara too? So it was all for nothing. The boy slaughtered them after I fell. I have failed. I failed to protect the Jedi Temple, I failed to protect Master Skywalker’s niece, and I have failed in the rescue attempt. “Beep-trill-whistle.” Nice to have you join me, Tonin. Wait a minute, droids in the afterlife?
Then he realized he wasn’t dead after all. His lightsaber was still locked in combat with the boy’s scarlet blade. But the boy was not moving. No more unnatural strength pushing him down. He tentatively deactivated his lightsaber. The scarlet blade still shone on. The boy’s face expressionless. One of his dead eyes pointed ahead, unmoving, the other had a 2-1B droid’s finger stuck in its socket.
Kyle Katarn surveyed the med bay. The 2-1B droid was no longer standing where it was a moment ago. Rather, it slumped at the side of the boy. It’s head smashed against the boy’s, and one of its fingers was stuck into the eye socket of the boy. A black haired woman collapsed on the floor, her left hands tight in a fist, the right relaxed and extended. Donos supported a sitting Lara, who by now was free of the wires, in a corner, Tonin dutifully cutting the security rings and untangling the knots in a few wires that still clinged to Lara’s skin.
Katarn quickly went over to Lara’s sides, and after surveying her wounds, quickly induced a healing trance. “She’ll be all right for now Donos. We should get her to Master Cilghal on the surface.”
“Open up in there! Open up in there!” Katarn stretched out with the force, and found a squad of New Republic fleet security outside the door. He called the little astromech droid, “It’s all right, Tonin, you can let them in now.”
“That’s really pretty much what happened, Admiral.”
Kyle Katarn had to give the briefing three times. He was now sitting in a room with Admiral Kre’fey. He explained how he found Captain Lumi Quelwalker of the New Republic fleet dead in her room at the Jedi Academy, Shmi Skywalker unconscious beside her, how he was contacted by Myn Donos of the Rogue Squadron, how Donos’s wife has been kidnapped, as well as the near disastrous rescue attempt.
“I really think there’s something you are not telling me Master Jedi, but right now I cannot find what it is.”
“You have no evidence proving it, just like I have no evidence that says all these events are linked.”
“That too, Master Jedi. We all have our own hunches. It seems we have reached an impasse.”
Katarn stood up and left the room.
In fact, Katarn had hidden something from the Admiral, as well as Head of Intelligence Cracken, and Head of State Leia Organa Solo. He did not tell them about the clone.
For that was what she is. A perfect clone of Lara Notsil, or rather, of Gara Petothel. Lara had dyed her hair white blond during the early years of the New Republic. Seventeen years ago she had her friend, Ton Phanan from Wraith Squadron operate on her so that white blond hair would forever be her natural hair colour from the wedding day on. Gara Petothel had forever left this universe, until now.
He headed over to the medical laboratory. Cilghal waved as she noticed him approaching. “Kyle, I am sorry about Lumi, I knew you were very good friends.”
Katarn did not respond to the healer’s sympathies, instead he looked over to the unconscious patient in one of the beds. “How is my padawan?”
“Still in a coma. Whatever happened in that room did something to her mind. I managed to heal all of her exterior wounds, but she’s still not waking up. The batteries are charged full, but nobody’s upstairs.”
“Has Master Skywalker been informed about his niece?”
“Not yet, He is too busy preparing the second outbound flight. When I contacted Bringer of Light, it was Kirana who answered. She promised to let him know, the first chance she sees him with some free time.”
“What could be causing the coma?”
“I really don’t know. Nothing physical, that is for sure. I tried to enter her mind a couple of hours ago. She blocked me out. There was something, almost a presence other than her own, shielding her mind. I thought I was able to make contact for the briefest moment, and something severed the connection. I was unable to do anything afterwards.”
“Do everything you can for her, Cilghal,” Katarn said, “even though she loved to play those tricks on me, she’s still my favourite padawan.”
“Don’t worry, I won’t let your life get lonely. I promise.” Cilghal half joking, half serious, said.
For the briefest of moments, Katarn eased a little, and allowed himself a little smile. Thanking Cilghal, he slowly went over to another bed. Tekli was there.
“Good Afternoon Master Katarn.” Myn Donos greeted him befoe the tiny chadra-fan healer could. “Once again, I am grateful, for everything.” Katarn saw there were bags under Donos’s eyes. He hasn’t left her side since they arrived, Katarn realized.
“She’ll be all right eventually,” Cilghal had informed them when the shuttle arrived directly from the Gantos to the medical facility on Yavin IV. She’s a strong one, she’ll pull through.”
Watching the form on the bed, and Katarn did not fully believe Cilghal, as much as he wants to. Whatever they did to her in the last two weeks, they did a thorough job of disabling her. According to the medical analysis, they took away 1/20th of Lara’s brain, cut off three of her toes, and cut her body up, sewed the wounds together, and cut it open again, for at least three times. ¾ of her stomach was missing. She was lucky she was still alive when Donos found her. Currently her eyes were open, but the green eyes within the sockets stared at the ceiling glassily, unseeing. Katarn knew that it was due to the new set of sedatives Tekli administered so that the bacta could work on her brain without being metabolized instantaneously, but the image of what might have happened had they being late for a few instants was no less disturbing.
“Wake up soon Lara, please.” Donos knew that he would have to leave in a few hours, when Tekli and other Jedi healers would perform surgery on Lara. He did not want to think of the possibility that he might lose her. Not after what they have been through together.
Katarn then walked out of the medical laboratory, and went to his own suite. He had a three-room suite to himself. Beside the living room, there was a bedroom and a meditation chamber. It was the meditation chamber that he approached now. He activated the combination lock, and proceeded to unlock the door.
As Katarn walked into the room, he was greeted with a seething sound. Two outstretched hand reached for his throat. They would have started to choke Katarn if they found their targets, but for now, they were shocked by the force field the Jedi set up in his meditation chamber, and formed into fists by their angry owner.
“Jedi! Deactivate this force field and fight like a man!” Cried Laara. Even as she cried out her challenge, she threw punches at Katarn. Each of her blows was deflected by the force field. Yet she tried dogged nonetheless. “Jedi! Fight Me!”
“I’d rather help you, Laara, if you don’t mind.”
“Help me?! The Jedi do not help! They murder. Isn’t that what you are going to do? Locking me in this room for your vile entertainment in your role as guardians of the galaxy, and then slowly kill me like you killed my family?”
“Who murdered your family Laara?” Katarn was taken aback, as far as he can tell through the force, her angers and frustrations were genuine.
“The Jedi! They came in the middle of the night. They destroyed my home, and killed my family in their sleep!”
“No, Laara, no Jedi murdered your family, because you don’t have a family. You are a…” catching himself, Katarn stopped as he almost let slip some vital information.
“You liar! You’ll pay for all the murders you committed!” insisted Laara, once more launching ineffectively at Katarn. “You’ll all pay.” She tried to kick Katarn, but her legs could never penetrate the force field.
Katarn was once more assaulted with waves of anger and helplessness. To his growing surprise, they were genuine feelings. Whatever atrocities this Laara said the Jedi committed, she herself believed them. There was no way to feign these emotions.
Finally the woman with black hair and mole near her chin, gave up her assault on the invisible wall. What came out next shook Katarn. It came in sobs.
“Please, just kill me, I beg of you. I would so much like to be with Kirney. Oh how I want to be with her. Is it too much to ask?”
The Jedi had left her in her prison. This Jedi had called it his meditation chamber. It was Spartan in décor. Bed, table, and chair are present, no other furniture. The force field generators emitted a quiet hum. Night has fallen on Yavin IV.
As Laara once more fell to her nightmarish sleep, she once more saw the Jedi, cloaked in darkness, cut down her sister in front of her, Kirney’s shrill scream constantly in her ears. She turned fitfully in her restless sleep.

RE: The M77 Saga Updated March 29, 2005 AU, Post Survivor's Quest newly updated!
Han Solo awoke from one of his dreamless sleeps. He has been having less and less quality sleep since the Vagaari war began. It was getting worse. Crankily he checked the chrono by his bunk-side drawer. ¡°Why didn¡¯t you wake me up till now?¡± Han asked, irritated at his co-pilot. Han¡¯s friend, Chewie was already up and alert in the cockpit of the Falcon, The wookiee roared in response.
¡°Hey, It wasn¡¯t my fault! How was I supposed to know that the sonic shower ¡®honest¡¯ Ezeka sold us was broken? We used to get the best bargain there. Beside, I fixed it¡ And last time I checked, we are still boycotting that cheating Jawa¡¯s franchise.¡±
Struggling into the refresher station, Han thought he heard an indignant rebuttal from Chewie. ¡®He just won¡¯t let me have the end of it.¡± He turned on the shower. Thankfully, He was able to fix the shower without too much trouble, or credits. He smiled. Yes, after all these years, his mechanical skills honed in his smuggler days never left him. He hummed his favourite Correlian song. Han reflected the event of the past couple of months.
A lot of things happened in the last two months. It felt like a lifetime since the Vagaari laid siege to Coruscant. The orbital bombardments were brutal, but in the end, with the help of the Empire of the Hand, the New Republic was able to raise the deadly siege.
In the end, a terrible price had been paid. An estimated five billion civilian casualties were reported on Coruscant alone. The military numbers were far higher. The worst was that that¡¯s all they were, estimates. Nobody wanted to gather data on the true numbers.
Sometimes Han wondered why all the members of his family survived when countless others did not. Gevan Quelwalker, Pash Cracken, Mirax Horn¡ ¡®You must be getting old. Listen to yourself, it¡¯s sounding more and more like you are blaming yourself for things that are completely beyond your control. What¡¯s done is done, and be thankful.¡¯ There was the key phrase, beyond your control. Everyone said that he did all he could, that there wasn¡¯t anything he could have done to make things different.
He wanted to believe them. He was told to move on. Yet he still had the nightmares.
Snap out of it! Han chided himself. Shmi and Anakin haven¡¯t seen their father in a long while, and it won¡¯t do to let them see him so down. Emerging from the refresher, he noticed the proximity sensors were flashing. Chewbacca roared in the cockpit.
¡°I¡¯m coming, I¡¯m coming, don¡¯t get all excited.¡± Chewbacca always let Han do the honours when it came to lowering the lever for coming out of hyperspace.
As he came into the cockpit, he was buffeted with another series of roars from Chewie. ¡°Give me a moment to settle down, will ya?¡± Han sat down into his chair, and pulled the lever back.
The Falcon reverted into real space, and established a standard orbit around the gas giant Yavin. The fourth moon was on the other side of the planet. ¡°All right Chewie, let¡¯s give them a little surprise.¡±
Chewie stared at Han for a moment, and then laughed his hearty wookiee laugh. ¡°Laugh it up all you want, I know what I¡¯m doing.¡± Han said as he engaged the sublight engines.
The plan was to drop in very close to the moon from the other side, and then land the Falcon beside the temple at max speed. All without telling these Jedi that they were coming. No sense ruining the surprise. Han couldn¡¯t wait to see the kids¡¯ faces when they see their father. No, a surprise must be in store for an occasion like this.
For the seventh time in a fortnight Darth Mu awoke from his dream in cold sweat. He doesn¡¯t sleep well anymore. Not after Genara failed to report in over two weeks ago. Sitting up from his bed, he reached over for the light switch. Yellow light illuminated his chamber, revealing a single large bed at the centre of the room. A portrait of a royal guardsman hangs over the bed. The force pike held at attention in the guard¡¯s hands.
The Royal Guardsman., he was in the dream too. Or rather, a royal guardsman was in his dreams. They always started differently, but they all ended in the same way. They always ended in destruction, betrayal, and death.
What did the dreams mean? Why does he keep having them? Why is it that he always woke up, he always sees Genara looking at him with an imploring expression, before the grogginess fully cleared?
Every time he saw Genara, he reached out with the force, to locate his apprentice. This time, like each and every time before it, he failed.
Darth Mu let the dark side flow through him. Presently he was fully rid of any sleepiness. He made his way to the bridge of his ship.
Captain Shangguan saluted his dark lord as Darth Mu approached. ¡°My Lord, the Bloodlust is at your command.¡±
¡°Thank you captain,¡± Mu inquired, ¡°What is the progress of the clones?¡±
¡°On average, the cylinders are operating at 218% efficiency. The A Batch is pumping out clones at 47 new troopers every 36 hours. The B Batch is operating to produce new slave labour at 400 every 12 hours. Cylinder C-19, per your instructions, has been left at exactly 100% efficiency, with no alteration of any kind. In fact, the clone is expected to be complete in 18 more minutes.¡±
¡°Excellent, Captain, you may carry on.¡±
¡°Thank you my lord.¡± Shangguan saluted once more as the dark lord turned in to the turbolift. Captain Shangguan did not know why such a care must be practiced when producing the clone in cylinder C-19. He did not really care. His lord must be obeyed.
Darth Mu made his way to the clone deck. He entered the C Batch room. Counting from the left, he found C-19 easily enough. Inside, a body was hooked up to various tubes, but an outline is clearly visible. Beside the cylinder was a diagnostic board. It read 99.9 percent complete. Estimated Remaining Time 7 minutes, 8 seconds.
Darth Mu counted down the seconds. Presently a medic stood beside him. ¡°If you will allow me, my lord.¡± Minutes soon turned into seconds, and the medic approached the cylinder very carefully, and after the diagnostic board reach 0 seconds remaining, tinkered with the board. The blue liquids within the cylinder soon drained, revealing the body within the cylinder.
It was only a baby.
The medic touched the cylinder in a nondescript spot, and a door appeared in the cylinder, and allowed the medic access to the clone inside. The baby came out the cylinder, although one final tube, hooked to the boy¡¯s mouth, was still attached. The medic quickly tried to remove the tube, but was stopped by Darth Mu.
¡°I will do it, doctor.¡±
¡°Of course, my lord. Congratulations on the completion of this clone.¡±
Darth Mu removed the tube of the baby. The baby wailed in his hands.
¡°Good morning to you too, my child.¡±
¡°Laara. Wake up.¡±
¡°Laara, I know you are awake. I wan to help you, but I can¡¯t do that if you won¡¯t accept my help. I know you don¡¯t believe me, but the Jedi are not killers. They didn¡¯t kill your family. Won¡¯t you let the healers help you?¡±
Laara did not wan to acknowledge the Jedi. For more than a week now the Jedi has been trying to lessen her resolve. He tried to feed her lies, but she saw through them. He cannot expect her to believe what he said, not after what the Jedi did. And what did these healers want with her? Did they want to do experiments on her? With their socery, make her betray Lord Mu, the only one who helped her when no one else would?
Kirney¡¯s screams resonated in Laara¡¯s ears. She lay very still. It was the only thing she could do. The Jedi will tire of their tricks, and leave her be. Just like so many times before.
Kyle Katarn sighed deeply. The clone would not accept his help. Whoever programmed her memories did a thorough job of making her feel strong enmity against the Jedi. To such an extent that she firmly believed her programmed memories were real. With her refusing the healer¡¯s help, the Katarn cannot hope to expose to her that her memories were mere programs. He could persuade her with the force, but that method is of the dark side. Even if she accepted his help, and he was able to make her see the truce, how would she react to it? Would she be able to take it her life was a lie?
The Lara Notsil was still in the Jedi Academy infirmary. Tekli has been working non-stop for three days trying to save her, before finally collapsing herself. The other healers, in tandem, managed to save Lara¡¯s life, and she was still under therapy, both physical and emotional. In all likelihood she can never rejoin the Wraith Squadron again.
How would Donos take it that the one responsible for his wife¡¯s condition is a clone of the woman he loves?
Lumi¡¯s death had been hard on Kyle. They were classmates at the Imperial Academy. When Kyle heard that Lumi Blackmoon had also deserted the Empire for the Rebel Alliance after the battle of Taris, he was very glad. Circumstances kept them apart, and when Kyle received words of Lumi¡¯s disappearance after an operation on Ord Mandell, he feared the worst. If it weren¡¯t for the Battle of Hoth occurring when it did, he would have tried to search for her. He did not see her for a very long time. Until the Lusankya prisoners were freed, Kyle had given up on any hope that she was still alive. Yet she returned to the New Republic. When Kyle received the invitation to her wedding to fellow Lusankya prisoner Gevan Quelwalker, Kyle would be lying if he said he wasn¡¯t a little disappointed. He felt genuinely glad for her.
When the Vagaari War broke out, Lumi served on the New Republic frigate Gantos, and was field promoted to captain of the Gantos after her captain died in a vicious battle against a Vagaari destroyer. It was a post she held since. They remained friends throughout the trying times.
Kyle reflected on Jan, captured at the battle of Csilla. Was she still alive? Was she captive on some Vagaari slave ship? She told Kyle she was going for a hike at one of Coruscant¡¯s newly constructed mountain park that fateful day. Instead she took off in the Moldy Crow, never to return. It was two months later when he found out that her volunteer rag tag fleet, along with what was left of the Chiss Expansionary Defense Fleet, took a last stand against the Vagaari scourge. A great victory, the New Republic and the Chiss called the battle, but the Moldy Crow never returned.
Kyle was knocked out of his reflections by a chirp of his comm unit.
¡°Master Katarn, the Millenium Falcon has landed beside the temple.¡±
Shmi Solo¡¯s eyes still looked up to the ceiling. If she saw her surroundings, her body did not show it. Tears formed in her eyes, products of prolonged opening of her eyelids rather than any emotion she could be able to show. Most of the Jedi in the academy filled the room. Her brother, Anakin, and her father, Han Solo sat at her bedside.
It was two hours after the Falcon touched down on Yavin IV. Two hours after the wookiee Chewbacca nearly ripped out Kyle Katarn¡¯s arms. But now everyone was once again calm. Han was holding Shmi¡¯s left hand. ¡°Shmi, if you can hear me, I just want you to know that everything¡¯s okay, cause your father, Han Solo is here. And you know that once Han Solo comes on the scene, everything¡¯s going to be okay. You are going to be okay, you hear¡¡± Han was unable to continue.
Cilghal, the Calamarian Jedi Healer, came into the room. She announced: ¡°I am ready to enter young Shmi¡¯s mind now, Master Katarn.¡± Kyle Katarn nodded gravely. ¡°It is dangerous, but if you think it is the only way¡ If I may, I want to go into her mind with you. You may need help.¡±
Cilghal shook her head, a very human expression she learned from those around her. ¡°No, It cannot be, only a Jedi healer has enough discipline to unravel the mysteries of a shattered mind. Your presence will only impede my progress as I keep a watch out for you in the clouded regions. I would have Tekli to help me, but she is beyond exertion, and need her rest.
¡°Very well.¡± As soon as Cilghal got Katarn¡¯s approval, she lied down on a bed beside the body of Shmi Solo, and grasped Shmi¡¯s right hand. She intoned the Jedi code, and was soon in a Jedi meditation trance. Her body muscles relaxed. She was soon introduced into the mind of Shmi Solo.
¡°I have been waiting for you, Jedi healer. We meet at last.¡±
Cilghal instinctively grabbed at her lightsabre as the very familiar voice filled her eardrums.
