	I love this story because you've written Dark Luke as really, really Dark. Not just grey, or in dispair or conflicted, but very evil. 	lurker2209: I love this story because you've written Dark Luke as really, really Dark. I wanted to avoid trying to excuse his behaviour -- he's definitely not a nice person. Sith have that tendency, for some reason. Mara's always pushing him and challenging him, for whatever reason. She knows why, and maybe he does too... Part two will have more in the way of explaining why the characters are the way they are. Great to have you reading. Edit: Grr, pressed the wrong button... Killik_Twilight: But poor Mara. It seems like Luke sees her as a goal, an object, and now that he has her, well, I'll leave it at that. Luke sees Mara as a lot of things... but you're right, it's not exactly a healthy kind of fascination. How Mara views the situation may surprise you though. Glad you're enjoying the story, anyway.

	Great post! Ohhh...Luke's a nasty pasty. Poor Leia. I think the way you've written him in very interesting - he's not really like any Sith we've seen before, certainly not like Vader or the Emperor. To be so...emotionally invested in hunting the rebels down (even if only to find Mara) makes for a very intriging character. For one thing, he never made the conscious choice that they did to go with darkness. Also there's Mara's influence... Intriguing is what I'm aiming for, so glad to hear you're finding him so. I thought I might have made a typo in the last section and described his eyes somewhere as blue not yellow! Easy to do.... But no, they're still very much yellow. 	Or so he thought. In the ensuing years, he began to suspect that they were not as obliterated as he had hoped. Their losses had been considerable, yes, and their numbers were severely depleted. But they had somehow managed to survive. He found that… Aggravating. Small thing here, but I love the matter-of-factness in the wording. Their existence doesn't infuriate him, or enrage him - it simply aggravates him. It hurts, he thought, staring into the battle-fire. It wasn’t supposed to, but it did. Angry pain, weeping lines of blood and ash that twined forever in his heart. That's beautiful wording. Despite all Luke's evilness, it does make you feel sorry for him. Around the next corner. She was fast, very fast. He watched as she rounded the corner; saw how she moved, the dancer’s lightness of step and precision transmuted into lethal, graceful agility. His breath caught. Beautiful wording here too - no surprise in anything you write. The chase sequence is wonderfully vivid. She drew back then caught herself and straightened. “You don’t frighten me.” He stared into her eyes, those dark eyes so shimmering and defiant, and his own eyes narrowed. He leaned forward until she recoiled; further, until she was at an awkwardly-slanted recline and he was on his knees over her, his face inches from hers. He watched her eyes dispassionately; saw the disgust and loathing there, the edge of fear. Lifting his hand, he traced gloved fingertips across the smoothness of her cheek. She tried to turn away; he seized her chin between thumb and forefinger, forcing her to hold his gaze. Bringing his mouth to her ear, he breathed, “Don’t I?” Fantastic. That paragraph is almost frightening just to read. Where is your honour, mighty Sith? Surrendered, squandered, never possessed at all. Little wonder she ran and runs from you so desperately. This really hints at a greater depth to Luke than we've yet seen. Why would a Sith care about honour? Her hair was dyed chestnut-brown and curled softly around her face; the eyes that met his blankly were a pale blue. How strange, he thought distantly, that she chose that colour. That had to be deliberate on her part. I love the silent yet glaringly obvious statement it makes. Randomness: I knew I'd heard the name Vespasian somewhere before. It's a great Sith name. And the matching scars on Luke and Mara's cheeks is a great touch. Will their origin be something we learn about later? How Mara views the situation may surprise you though. Okay, now I'm positively dying of curiosity.
