	Title: Ocean’s Tide Characters: Jaina Solo, Jag Fel Disclaimer: Jaina Solo, Jag Fel, and any other mentioned Star Wars character or thing not belong to me. Summary: Just a short J/J drabble based on the epilogue of TFP. Enjoy. ***** Jaina watched as small fishes darted in between her ankles, swam past a small crevice in a rock, and then returned to where she stood with Jag, still continuing their own small exploration of the tidal pool. Jaina chuckled as one hit Jag's foot, and looked up to meet his pale green eyes. There was the slightest of smiles on his face, and Jaina blushed. "What?" she asked, chosing to look downward to their still interlocked hands instead. He didn't answer, and instead reached foward with his free hand to push back a lock of Jaina's hair behind her ear. A useless gesture as the sea breeze instantly ruffled it up again, but she smiled none the less. Jag had changed so much from the grim man she had met above orbit of Ithor back at the beginning of the war. Jaina was eternally grateful for that. A few moments of silence passed between them as they waded further away from the direction in which they came, both pilots just enjoying the feel of the setting sun and ocean surf, as well as the other's company. She came to a halt midstep, a regretful, guilty expression easily readible on her face when she looked up towards her boyfriend. "When Grand Admiral Pellaeon said he hadn't heard if you and the others had reached Admiral Kre'fry, I was so afraid, Jag. I thought I had sent you into a firefight, or worse. I didn't-" Jaina bit down on her lip, suddenly feeling choked with emotion. Taking a calming breath, she continued, "If my order was responsible for your death, I don't know what I would have done." Jag gently stroked her cheek, his face serious as ever. "You would have survived. You're strong, Jaina." "But-" "Nothing happened. From what I've heard, <i>you</i> were the one in more danger than me. I told you I didn't want to leave you behind." A dry smile spread across her face as her eyes narrow. "I'm serious, Jag. I thought I lost you." He shook his head. "I told you on Borleias, I won't go anywhere. I don't want to. I love you." It was the first time Jaina had heard him say it outloud and not as a drifting thought through her subconcious as she helped Tahiri fight an internal battle. She blinked, the words and the adimance behind them catching her by surprise. She smiled warmly at Jag, a smile that quickly turned into the famous Solo grin. "I know. "I love you too." He chuckled, and wrapped his arms around her, pulling the young Jedi close. She rested her head on his chest and let out a small sigh. She only had a day left of leave before returning to duty, and she wanted to make the best of it. "If I recall, someone still owes me a rematch on that sparring mat," she said, a wicked gleam in her eye. He quirked an eyebrow. "So I can show you that victory of yours wasn't properly earned?" She pulled away, poking him in the chest. "You're delusional, flyboy. And jealous that someone my height easily overpowered you." "There's one thing I'm not delusional about." "Oh?" She looked at him skeptically. "Enlighten me?" His kiss was all the proof she needed. -----signature----- She found herself smiling. There was nothing wrong with a man who cared about animals, nothing at all, even if he wiped out cities.
