	A while ago I wrote a viggie called End of the Tunnel. Some readers asked me to expand on it, so here's the prologue. ------------------------------------------------------ The lights flashed and burned. Thunder rolled across the skies. For those on the planet Yainnar, the battle looked like a fireworks display put on for their benefit. But everyone on Yainnar knew that this was a battle, a battle that would determine the fate of the galaxy. For the people on Yainnar, the outcome of the battle would decide their fate. Whether or not their fate was bright with happiness or shrouded with despair, young Jedi Knight Jacen Solo couldn’t say. All he could do was reflect on how he came to be stuck on a meaningless planet during the most meaningful battle of all time. ------------------------------------------------------ Five days before the Battle of Yainnar. “Jasa, where are we going? Are we there yet? Cause, I have to potty! JASA are you listening!?” Jacen chuckled at his cousin’s forcefulness. Just past three, and already able to talk like an obnoxious seven year-old. “Ben, we’ll be there in less than an hour, and how many times do I have to tell you that there’s a bathroom on board?” Ben leaned towards his cousin conspiringly and whispered, “Yeah, but I don’t want the ugly man to watch me!” Towards the end of the sentence Ben had raised his voice, and Corran Horn raised his eyebrow. “Me, ugly? I’d watch it young Skywalker, I can have you thinking you’re an eighty-something woman who wants to dye her hair pink.” Corran knew that half of what he had just said had gone over young Ben’s head with a meter to spare, but he could tell that Ben had caught the words woman and pink. Especially the word pink. “P-p-p-pink?” Ben asked tremulously. “You’re mean, ugly man!” Jacen shook his head. It was going to be a long trip. 	Ok, once again not that good but... Five days before the Battle of Yainnar. –Yainnar Jacen couldn’t take it anymore. They had only been on the planet for five hours, and Ben had already wrecked three rooms. Corran was even worse. He was only a bit younger than Jacen’s father, and he was acting little better than Ben. When they had both grabbed up pillows and whacked Jacen over the head, he stormed outside into the woodland. Yainnar reminded Jacen a bit of Endor, and he hoped that it was a good omen. The Vong had beat them back to this planet, and the whole galaxy was rallying their forces for one last offensive. They might even be able to take part in the fighting if their transport got to Yainnar in time. If Yainnar ended up like Endor had, then perhaps the GFFA could pull off another miracle. Jacen stared into space. Literally. Sometime between the time he had walked outside and now, the view had shifted from towering trees to an endless expanse of stars. Jacen thought he was in the Yainnar system, except the Yainnar system had a huge primary star, and the only stars in this system were the small ones that formed a background almost everywhere in space. The ring of asteroids was something new too. Suddenly, all light was blocked out as if something huge had blocked the view, or as if all the stars had suddenly been extinguished by a giant hand. This is NOT good. Jacen shook his head and the vision receded, but he couldn’t shake the foreboding that had settled on his shoulders. Something would happen at the upcoming battle, but Jacen wasn’t strong enough in the Force to be certain what. All he knew was that it wasn’t good. “Jasa!! Me and Unclie Corran aren’t done with you!!” Jacen shook his head and headed back to something that he could understand. Starship Rebel Dream “What do you propose we do?” Leia looked exasperatingly at the council members sitting around the table. “First you,” she swung towards Cal Omas, “say we can’t strike at their heart. Then you,” she turned to face Ackbar “say we can’t fight them at out stronghold and have to retreat to some planet in the middle of nowhere! Why must we do this? Do you even have a reason?” Leia plopped down in her chair and sighed. “I’m sorry. You have had the utmost patience with me and I’m the one who thinks they have a right to complain.” “Leia, we all feel the same way. Don’t be ashamed.” Cal stood up and pointed at the projector. “This is something we haven’t shared with any of you yet. Yainnar is the Yuuzhan Vong’s library.” Everyone just stared at him dumbly. “Well, not really. But they think it is! Right now, they have half of their resources dedicated to creating a dhuryam that will Vongform Yainnar into their version of Yaga Minor! We don’t know why they picked Yainnar, but it fits our needs exactly!” Cal turned away from the projector, and everyone in the room could see his fervor. Everyone could tell he was tired of fighting. Everyone could tell that he thought he had the Yuuzhan Vong eating out of his hand. Which he very well might Leia admitted privately. When it came to religion, the Vong were the most fanatical species. If they thought there was a planet that could hold their whole species’ history, they would go to any means to capture it and make it theirs. Cal continued. “We can pull off another Ebaq! But instead of having them flee into a minefield, we will completely kill every Vong in the system!” Leia shrank back as Cal’s spit flew over the table. What Cal had said sounded like a prophecy, like the darkest prophecy to ever climb out of the muck. Leia’s mind flashed to her son on Yainnar, and she got the distinct impression of fear, confusion, and darkness. At that moment Leia knew that whatever the future held, there would never again be a safe haven for her family.
