But like Michele said, there's no dying, no divorcing, and no turning to the Dark Side. I'd add no suicides or executions, as well. You exercised remarkable restraint, darling. It's appreciated. “I ... appreciate the effort, but I really don’t want to talk about it,” he says to me with an earnest, blue-eyed gaze full-on. I turn away, musing on whether to accept that. But ... he has always been willing to back down when I needed it. He never pushes me hard, finishing my training excepted. He never asks me what it was like being the Emperor’s Hand. He doesn’t ask me if I liked it. He didn’t ask me if I missed it. He doesn’t ask me personal questions. Often. He accepts. So I nod, accepting. My favorite part. There's definitely some emotional growth on Mara's part, for her to realize that the most helpful thing she could do was simply be there, and for her to have the willingness and self-control not to press matters further than that. Nicely handled. Leia: is slightly put-out that there was no kissing I wouldn't have minded some kissing in this story myself, but oba's response to the possibility of an L/M kissing fic is very worrisome. I've never forgotten 'Of Endings', and what happened after that kiss. [face_traumatized] And I love that story by Jedi Molly. Michele: No, that's not the line. It's probably not all that confusing a line, really; I just pointed out that if one weren't aware of the initial reference, one might read that line and go, "Huh?" Besides, it wouldn't be confusing to you because I'm sure you're well aware of the initial EU reference. Luke is a masculine den mother. 	Rather than die of shock, I'm just simply grateful to have a little L/M almost-mush from you, obaona. I love all of you fics, even the evil, angsty, depressing ones , but nice to read this beautiful offering. I turn away, musing on whether to accept that. But ... he has always been willing to back down when I needed it. He never pushes me hard, finishing my training excepted. He never asks me what it was like being the Emperor’s Hand. 	Guilty lurker.... It's not my fault! Points to evil exams Lovely story as always, obaona. I really enjoy your writing, angsty or not. This was a great scene between them -- I like Luke's slight vulnerability and Mara's uncertainty. The hug at the end was very nice as well. Fantastic work!
