	She tells him he is what he fears most, that he is what he is most ashamed of; he is arrogant, he is not a true Jedi, he cannot do this. He tells her he wonders if she has a soul. Brilliant way to open a vignette -- it definitely caught my attention straight away. I like the way you bring out the balance of their relationship here. It's wonderful to see the flow between them captured so eloquently. The juxtapositioning of fighting and love worked very well also -- I like the way it seems to gently move from one the other through the course of the vignette. Beautiful work!

	Interesting- I really like how you portrayed them here. And I think it was better without the names grins Names just get in the way, anyway. Great fitting title, by the way. 	Another Oba viggie!!! Wow! (As usual... ) That opening really grabs your attention! I can't help it, I just love it when Luke and Mara fight... And this is especially powerful as it is set post VotF. This little viggie really reminds you that- now being inside each other's heads and souls- when they fight, it is meaner, dirtier and more brutal than ever. I love how you have each sniping at the other's weakest points. Very dramatic. It had me breathless. I loved the comparison in fighting styles and your reminding us of their warrior backgrounds and how that affects their actions. And just when you've got me thinking such words could never possibly heal, you remind us that there are deeper bonds here then such quarrels could sunder. The capacity to love only grows with pain. That's why it's so beautiful. All of this you portray excellently. I especially love your views on their "living in the moment" and how incredibly vital it is- to not only their relationship, but their very lives. Your description of their different ways of loving was pure poetry! I JUST LOVE IT! Thank you so much for sharing it! -----signature----- L/M since reading HttE in '96. And yeah - I really think they complement each other in a way that few people do. Knight_Aragorn: Yeah, I bet. ;) Originally I actually wasn't going to do the love part, but the story really became about how they love and fight, and how the two are connected in who they are. They just didn't fit. :p And the title, oddly enough, was thought of at the last moment, while I was rereading the fic in preparation for posting. Go figure. Yep, very cold on Luke's part. But I think he could do it. ;) Thank you. Jaded_Girl: Exactly. You nailed it. They are in each other's heads and hearts, and that makes it so much easier to be more brutal and more dirty and hurting. And probably a lot easier to get angry and hurt by the other person, too. Your family always knows how to strike at you best, but they also are the most protective and loving of you, and I think that's ... what it is here. I'm also glad you liked the part about them being warriors and how that affects things - because I really do think it would. They are warriors, and they never really 'let go' of that and become totally normal people. Living in the moment - that was something that only occurred to me as I wrote the vignette. But really, with the incredible weight they carry, how else could they live? If I thought about everything going on in the world right now, all the things that could go wrong, I'd lose my mind. I think we all would.
