	Title: RelicHunters (no, I did not thieve it from the show!) Author(s): Draconarius Type: action/adventure Timeframe: just after NJO Characters: Anakin, Tahiri, Luke, Mara, R2, OCs Summary: Anakin, Luke, Mara, and Tahiri must stop the two Sith RelicHunters from finding an incredibly powerful artefact. Okay, this is my second fic here. A slight change of timeframe and characters from my other one. First of all, things you should know: Anakin isn't dead (obviously). Another important point I need to mention is that Tahiri is just Tahiri; Riina's gone. Dead, non-existant, wiped-out, etc. I'll explain in the second/third chapter of the fic (NOT THE PRELUDE, which is what I'm posting first!!). Timeframe for the fic is 4 months after TUF. So... without any further ado... drumroll... onto the fic! DRAMATIS PERSONAE Anakin Solo; Jedi Knight (male human) Darth Serapis; Sith Apprentice, Sith RelicHunter (female human) Darth Xiphias; Sith Lord, Sith RelicHunter (male human) Emmeryl; treasure hunter (female human) Garra Hinnoss; Imperial Remnant Admiral (male human) Kerthan Takketh; captain, Chrysaor (male human) Luke Skywalker; Jedi Master (male human) Mara Jade Skywalker; Jedi Master (female human) Miryan Vanchel; Jedi Padawan (female human) R2-D2 (Artoo); Luke Skywalker's astromech droid Shilkon; treasure hunter (male Selkath) Tahiri Veila Solo; Jedi knight (female human) Zorarn; treasure hunter (male Cathar) ----------------------------- PRELUDE [Vocal Diary of Solo, Anakin; Jedi Knight. Entry 59. Time: 2358] "Oh, I haven't used this thing in six months. Ever since we left to hunt down Zonama Sekot. Then again, that was because I forgot this blasted thing. Damn it, I'm rambling. Settle down, Anakin! "Not like I can help it, though. I mean, for heaven's sake, I'm getting married tomorrow! Married! Tomorrow! I'm so nervous...what if Tahiri's late? What if I'm late? ARGH! "Okay, get a hold of yourself, Anakin! "I'm really nervous. I've never been this nervous before. Except, maybe when I asked Tahiri to marry me... nope, I'm more nervous now. I pretty much knew that she would say yes. I love her so much... I know she loves me as well. She's so perfect! Absolutely perfect! Sure, Miry says that-- "Oh...yeah, that's right. I haven't recorded anything about Miry yet. She'd probably want me to. She's my apprentice. Found her on Coruscant just after we took it back. She's fifteen, brown hair, brown eyes. Looks kinda like Jaina. Reminds me of Jaina, too... "Now I'm rambling again. Oh, Sithspit, I am so nervous. You'd think after being best friends with Tahiri for five years, and boyfriend-girlfriend for three, and fiancés for two more, this would be easy. It isn't! "I still can't believe I'm finally going to marry her. Tomorrow. I've waited far too long for this. I shouldn't have listened to Uncle Luke. Tahiri and I should have eloped years ago. She's always wanted a nice, small, quiet wedding. And, to tell the truth, I do too. For once in my life, I don't want a grand ceremony. I don't care if I'm related to every famous person in the galaxy! I just want what Tahiri wants: A nice, quiet wedding, close friends and family only. "Which still adds up to thirty-odd guests. "Oh well. I really should get some sleep. It's 0008 already. Wait a second...I've been here for ten minutes! I must be nervous. I've never spent this much time recording on this thing before!" "Master?" [Voice identified as Vanchel, Miryan; Jedi Knight] "Miry? Why are you awake?" "You woke me up!" "I did? Oh...sorry." "Forget about it. What are you doing?" "Venting some nervousness, I guess." "Is it helping?" "Actually...no, not much. I'm so nervous. Why shouldn't I be? I'm getting married tomorrow! And then we've got that mission three days after! How the hell are Tahiri and I supposed to enjoy our honeymoon if it's only three days long!" "I thought you said that you were postponing your honeymoon until after the mission." "Oh, yeah. I did. I mean, we are! Oh, I'm just so tired... so nervous. Wedding day tomorrow, mission afterward. Who wouldn't be?" "You'll sleep right through your wedding if you don't get some sleep soon." "Yeah...you're right...thanks, Miry." "Good. Now that I don't have you keeping me up, maybe I can get some sleep, too." "Selfish little..." "I heard that!" I hope it will be as much to fun to read as it will be to write. And I am very glad that someone already likes my OC - YAY!. I decided to use some more...interesting species for the fic. I only just got KoToR 1 (took me a while, I know, but I got it!) and I think the Selkath are so cool! And the Cathar, I've always liked. Good to know the Prelude worked. If it hadn't, I'd have just ruined the start of my fic...yeesh, that would have been bad. Thanks, JD. Okay then...great to have you two along. I hope more people will join soon. 	Okay, the long overdue Chapter One. One quick note: I have added two letters to Miry's name. It's now Miryan. Miry is her pet name. Oh, and I haven't put how Anakin's alive in Chapter one, but it will more than likely be in Chapter Two. And, don't forsake me just because of the lameness of the wedding vows! I know I’m not good at them, but I just couldn’t see Ani and Tahiri not saying their own vows. Okay, here's the chapter: Chapter One Anakin's jitters about his wedding last night had been nothing. Now that he was only a few minutes away from actually marrying Tahiri, he had to use the Force just to keep his thoughts in order. But, no matter how hard he tried to focus, the same questions that had been in his mind for the past few months refused to go away. Is this the right thing to do? What if Dad's right? What if we are still too young? What if-- Anakin closed his eyes and forced himself to calm down somewhat. None of that mattered. He was going to marry Tahiri, and that was the end of it. He and Tahiri would make it work. He would make it work. "Having second thoughts?" Jacen asked quietly. Anakin opened his eyes and turned to face his best man. "No. Not at all." "If you say so," Jacen commented. "I'm just a little nervous," Anakin said, turning his attention back to the aisle between the seated guests. "A little?" "Okay, fine, very nervous," Anakin admitted. "I've tried everything I can think of to calm down." "Not working?" "What do you think?" Jacen smiled. "Don't worry, Anakin, everything will be fine. It's only natural to be nervous--." "Oh, like you'd know?" "Maybe not yet..." Jacen said, flashing a smile at his girlfriend, who was seated with the other guests. She let a very rare smile appear in return. "Are you that certain you'll marry her?" Anakin asked. "How certain were you that you were going to marry Tahiri?" Jacen retorted. "Never doubted it," Anakin replied instantly. "That's how I feel about Tenel Ka," Jacen said. "Everything will be fine, little brother. Just make sure you remember to say 'I do'." "Actually, Tahiri and I are saying our own vows." "Really?" Jacen asked. "Well, in that case, make sure you remember them." "That's the hard bit," Anakin sighed. Jacen went to say something further, but, before he could, the doors opened, revealing Tahiri standing behind them. Everything and everyone else seemed to just dissapear as soon as Anakin laid eyes on her. She was wearing a pure white dress, which stretched down to the floor, concealing her feet--which were probably bare, as they usually were. Her soft blonde hair fell about her shoulders, and her emerald eyes, in Anakin's opinion, looked like real emeralds. Anakin felt every part of him melt as he watched her walk up the aisle towards him. He had never seen anyone or anything more beautiful in his life. It seemed like an eternity before they were standing together in front of Anakin's uncle...an eternity in which Anakin spent and enjoyed every moment staring at Tahiri. You are so beautiful, Anakin thought to her. You don't look all that bad yourself, she replied, glancing at Anakin and his impeccable Jedi robe. Luke began his speech, but Anakin didn't really hear any of it. He was too busy admiring the impossibly beautiful woman he was about to marry. And then, all of a sudden, Luke was finished. "As a sign of how much they love each other..." The Jedi Master said. "...Anakin and Tahiri have chosen to say their own vows. Tahiri..." Tahiri nodded to Luke quickly, looked at Anakin, and took a deep breath. She's as nervous as I am, Anakin decided. He almost instinctively reached out to her through the Force, trying to help her as much as he could. She took his hands in hers before she started. "You are the love of my life, Anakin," She said. "And you've saved that life so many times that I've lost count. I love you even more for that. You have always been there for me, and I promise I'll always be there for you. I will always love you, Anakin, no matter what happens.” Luke gave Anakin a second to take that in. Anakin smiled at Tahiri, and then, on direction from Luke, began to say his own vow. “Tahiri…you are the most beautiful woman I have ever seen,” He said. “I still don’t think I deserve you, and I don’t think I ever will. You’ve made my life complete—no, perfect in every way possible. I just hope I can do the same for you, Tahiri. I swear in the Force that I will always be here to protect you, care for you, and love you.” Glad that he had actually managed to say that without messing it up—save, of course, the last-millisecond change from complete to perfect—Anakin breathed a quiet sigh of relief. Tahiri had a smile of pure love on her face. Anakin returned it. It was nearly over! All that was left to do was— “The rings,” Luke prompted. Jacen already had them in a small container, which he produced from inside the sleeve of his Jedi robe. He quickly opened it and levitated it over to the space between Anakin and Tahiri and let it float there. This whole thing had been prearranged, so Anakin and Tahiri didn’t waste any time in using the Force to pick the rings up. Then, in one unified move, the soon-to-be married couple used the Force to carefully slide the rings onto each other’s fingers. “In the name of the Galactic Alliance and the Jedi Knights,” Luke announced. “I pronounce you man and wife. Ana—.” Luke didn’t have time to finish. Anakin and Tahiri were already sharing the most passionate kiss of their lives. Jacen had to force himself not to laugh, as did ninety percent of the guests, as Luke shook his head in exasperation. Couldn’t they show some dignity for once? Luke sent to Jacen. Apparently not, Jacen replied. “Hey hey hey! Come on!” Luke said quietly to the newlyweds, prompting them to finally release each other. “I love you,” Anakin whispered to his new wife. “I love you too…” She replied. “…my husband.” ---------- Meanwhile, nearly half a galaxy away, a sleek and lethal warship glided through space like a shark on the hunt. Few people, aside from the crew, knew that this ship existed. Which was exactly how its commander wanted it. On the ship’s bridge, Darth Xiphias gazed out the viewport at the stars beyond. The stars that, given time, would all belong to him. As soon as he found that holocron, they would all fall before him. He was so close… “My Lord.” “Yes, Captain Takketh?” Xiphias demanded, turning to face the Chrysaor’s captain. “We just received a report from Lord Serapis,” Takketh said, looking straight into Xiphias’s green eyes. His voice betrayed no fear of the Sith lord; only an absolute and mutual respect. “She’s confirmed the location of the first marker. The Dakesh system.” “Excellent. Ready the ship and jump on my command.” “My Lord, I don’t think it would be wise to bring the Chrysaor so close to the Remnant,” Takketh replied. “Your fighter would—.” “Get there faster and be easier to hide,” Xiphias finished for him. “True, Captain. Ready my Marauder at once.” “Yes, My Lord.” “And inform Lord Serapis that my orders are for her to stay where she is for now,” Xiphias instructed as he strode between the crew pits toward the back of the bridge. “I’ll handle the retrieval of the marker myself. Until I get back, keep the Chrysaor ready to jump.” As Xiphias entered the turbolift and palmed the controls to send it to the main hangar, he smiled. 	Oh, I liked that. I didn't think there was anything wrong with Anakin and Tahiri's vows. Very sweet, and very in-character for both, IMHO. "Everything will be fine, little brother. Just make sure you remember to say 'I do'." Typical big brother advice. And nice to see Jacen and Tenel Ka together. I liked how you portrayed Jacen here. Luke's exasperation with A/T as they kissed cracked me up. Good stuff. That Sith Lord sounds like a formidable enemy, which is very Liked the imagery of him aboard his ship as well.
