	Oh yeah, I guess they never got it out. I was pulling ingredients outta my bum. And I forgot about the honey. Jacen looked at Nen Yim and laughed. She wasn’t quite getting the hang of an ice cream cone yet. And as such she had a large dollop of the treat stuck to her misshapen nose. “You do realize that you’re supposed to lick it, and not take a bite out of the cone?” Jacen asked amused at his not-quite-girlfriend. “But the cream is melting into the cone.” “That’s why you have to eat it quickly.” With that Jacen bit off a piece of his ice cream and swallowed it, hoping it wouldn’t give him a cold headache. “Then why not just drink it melted?” Nen Yim still didn’t realize she had the ice cream on her nose. “Because half the fun is eating it before it melts.” Jacen shook his head and used a sani-cloth the wipe the cream from her nose. “Now hurry up, or you’ll get it all over you.” “Fine.” Nen Yim opened her mouth insanely wide and swallowed the ice cream scoop in one gulp; she shivered in delight as it cooled her innards. The beauty of the Corellian warm season was that it was burning hot during the day and cool at night. “Now why are we going to this park?” And that is totally raw, as in Weeza hasn't looked it over for grammar and crap. -----signature----- "There will be pages. 	Nah, not an icecream headache, just it sliding down her throat. And yeah... I think that's one of those many fics that I can't access because they're on my thumb drive. So trust me, if I could I would so finish it and update it. Because I know there was more to it than that. And then when she had shut it there was a crunch. She had to repeat the question to shake him out of his surprise. “A park is the best place to watch the interactions between inhabitants of this galaxy.” “And why do I have to do this exactly?” Nen Yim watched as a speeder went flying down the street entirely too fast, followed by one with CorSec markings. “Because it’s slightly disturbing to people when you do certain things.” Nen Yim rubbed the back of his hand with the claw of her shaper’s hand. “Like that.” He pressed the sani-cloth he still held into the cut that she had caused. “But it is meant to be a gesture of affection.” “Most species see pain as something bad. And when you’re cutting me up, they tend to start rumors.” They quickly crossed the street. “The type of rumours that will get you sent back to Coruscant and into a jail cell.” “I will try to be more careful about such things.” She followed Jacen in silence, crunching on what remained of the actual cone. “Let’s sit here.” Jacen said, pointing to a bench that commanded a view of a wide open area, filled with neatly cut grass. In the opening children played under the watchful eyes of their guardians, young couples sat in the sun enjoying their day off, and those that had to work, enjoyed their short lunch breaks. After a few moments of observing the beings go about their lives Nen Yim turned to her companion and gave him a thoughtful look. “Jacen, tell me, how do humans show affection?” “It depends on what type of affection we wish to show.” Jacen looked around and pointed out a couple relaxing on a blanket. “See those two, on the orange blanket. Watch as they press their lips to each other. That’s called a kiss. In most cases it represents romantic attraction and affection.” “But I have seen your mother, ‘kiss’, you.” Nen Yim said, getting her tongue around the strange word. “See, kisses are strange.” Jacen said, before pausing to think out how to explain the intricacies of human rituals to the alien next to him. “A kiss on the cheek can mean something entirely different than a kiss on the mouth, or the forehead.” “That makes little sense. If I cut you like I did on the hand, or the cheek, it always represents the same thing. That I feel close to you as a friend.” “Well we humans are strange beings. See, when my mother kisses me on the cheek, it’s in a platonic, ‘I love you, son.’ way. She could do the same to my dad, and it would mean pretty much the same. But if it’s on the lips, it’s different it’s more of a romantic thing.” “Because it is more personal?” Nen Yim looked away from Jacen back to the couple on the blanket. “Yes, something like that.” Jacen said, and decided to cut Nen Yim off before she could ask anymore questions. “I really don’t know why, I just know that it is. Now another sign of affection is hugging.” “That is when you wrap your arms around another and squeeze, correct?” “Yes, it’s just a general showing of affection. Whatever form it is, it doesn’t matter, you hug people the same way.” Jacen thought about this for a second and then corrected himself. “I take that back, males, we tend to hug each other differently than when we hug a female.” “I have noticed that. Males tend to use a single arm, or not do it quite so tightly.” “Exactly,” Jacen again paused before continuing. “Most beings in this galaxy show affection through very slight body language. Whether it be through small touches, or things like hugs.” “Yes, we are much the same.” Nen Yim replied, moving slightly closer to Jacen on the bench. The two kept talking like this for an hour or so, Jacen slowly trying to explain various actions to her, but for the most part, they just enjoyed each others company. Jacen glanced down at his wrist chrono. “Woah, we’ve been here a while.” Jacen stood up. “I’m sorry, but I have to go to a meeting with CorSec. I’m sorry to cut it short.” “It is fine, Jacen.” Nen Yim said, before standing up as well. “It was a pleasure to see you.” She leaned over and kissed him softly on the cheek, before turning around and walking away.
