So great! I can't wait to see what happens next. I can see traces of DN and LOTF Jacen in there, wanting to fix everything, wanting to be in control, but that's partly a healthy teenage instinct. I'm rooting for Jacen! This is so good...and angsty.

Yeah, it was always there on some level. Will he be able to change himself? Very teenage. I'm sort of rooting for him to, in this story at least. Thanks! Much with the angst.
 Don't have to wait long. It's finished and betaed now. I just have to find the energy and non-evilness inside of me to take the time to post and edit the junk characters out of it.  (probably monday sometime)

A/N: Feel free to ask any questions this post brings up. It's pretty psychological, angsty and made my brain go all loopy just writing it. You might want a tissue.
Chapter 11
Luckily Luke and Mara had been called out for a moment because of some paperwork they had to do to relocate or whatever it was they were going to do with Qorl. It gave her more time to prepare for the uncomfortable questions she would have to answer, as crazy as they sounded, to their satisfaction. Zekaya had known the time of accountability would come, but now that it was upon her she feared that she would mess up and they wouldn’t take her advice at all. Failure was unacceptable.
She'd have to give them the datapad full of Vong and other advice. That meant getting it back from Avi. It was strange she hadn't thought about her for a while. Poor neglected kid. Stranded with a broken ship, just waiting for her to return. It was amazing that she had somehow found a way to travel through time too, and just for her, but then she'd always been a stubborn clingy padawan. Or so some of the masters had claimed.
Zekaya shook her head. Something about that nagged at her. She fiddled with her jacket to vent her nervousness. Whenever her fingers got near her right pocket they shook. She wished Avi was there to tell her that she had to do this. That she could trust her aunt and uncle here. Being around her old self had rubbed off on her, bringing some focus. She felt less broken and confused. She longed for that old determination and confidence that she could fix anything if she just worked hard enough.
Her hand steadied and curiosity overcame the blind pain filled fog she had been living in. Something was in her pocket. It was cold and hard. It was a datapad. She didn't remember having one too.
Zekaya pulled back the curtain on the wall to see Jacen unconscious still and herself by his side. She didn’t need to see to know they were there. She could reach out and feel them, it had been so long since she had reached out for her surroundings. Reaching out was opening up yourself to pain. Had they given her this?
"Jaina." The voice was so near, but she hadn't sensed anyone else in the room, and the name along directed at her...
"Avi? How did you get here?"
The door was slightly ajar so she must have slipped in. "If people see you there are going to be a lot more questions-"
Avi was hiding something in her pitying smile. "No one will see me."
"What are you doing here?" Avi must have left her the datapad, somehow.
"Good Luck. You're stronger than you think, Trickster." Her gray eyes were piercing. She turned to the window. "He's going to awake soon, and things are going to change."
"I'm going to tell them about the Vong," Zekaya announced, holding up the datapad.
"I know. You need to hurry you don't have much time." She appeared to become more nervous, like she had to convince a wookie it had to wear clothes to a ball. Like she only had one chance to get her message across before her arms got ripped off for suggesting it. "Look there are a lot of things I haven't told you that you haven't been prepared for. Things you're trying to forget. Things that are eating you inside like a cancer. You can't hide them forever you have to let them go. You're keeping all your emotions so tightly wound-"
"If this is your idea of a pep talk it isn't working." Zekaya backed away. Why couldn't Avi become encouraging again instead of trying to be her psychologist again?
"Jaina- you tried to save me long ago with a ship full of scared passengers who depended on you for survival- you didn-t have a choice. You had to leave him behind, no one else could have piloted it out of enemy hands like that!"
"Shut up." Zekaya growled as images she'd rather not remember ran through her mind.
" You paid dearly for it, you shut your heart away far away so you could be strong enough to save us. Always protecting-"
"Shut UP!" Avi was no longer a friend. Why was she doing this now? When she needed to be strong to tell Luke and Mara the truth, to warn them and here she was trying to make her into an emotional mess! She threw up more walls between herself and her emotions and memories.
"But you can't access the power you need, the lightside power you need unless you open yourself to it." Avi cried like it was the only way to save the galaxy, and Zekaya was refusing to shoot down the newest deathstar that was approaching.
Zekaya shook her head. "This is isn't helping- SHUT UP!" Zekaya closed her eyes as she screamed.
The door opened.
"Zekaya? Who are you talking to?" Mara demanded, looking around the room for an assailant.
Luke looked relieved. "We thought you were hurt."
She opened her eyes, "I,"
The room was empty. She searched in vain with her mind, Avi was a tricky padawan she could be anywhere. Behind the curtains now? But the force told her that she was alone. She streached out further, searching Yavin in vain.
Alone. How could she be alone?

"...Its days like this I hate the New Republic." Mara complained as she sent off the third form on relocation of war criminals.
"Come on, even the Empire had paperwork." Luke said unconvincingly. He was probably just arguing with her because her liked to see her frustrated.
"Yeah. I know this guy is bad, but the doctors say he's brainwashed. He doesn't know any better. I feel a little bad sending him back to Coruscant." Mara's thumb and forefinger had a minuscule gap in between them.
"We can't keep an Imperial pilot, who thinks we're all rebels who deserve to die, around because of pity." Luke reminded.
"I know." Mara said. "It's the paperwork that's talking." She typed in a few more questions about their detainee. "Less paperwork with executions." Her voice became mock wistful.
Luke frowned and glanced back at the waiting room they had left his student's savior in. The one who'd sent the warning out. The one who he'd mistaken for Jaina in the force. She wasn't of course because Jaina was in the medcenter right now he could sense that. Zekaya was a lost soul. Mara had said as much when she had first come here. He wanted to help her, as he wanted to help all potential jedi, but there was something else to it. Who was she? She reminded him physically of his sister, and her dry wit of Han. But Jaina wasn't in her thirties and there was no way that Leia had had an illegitimate lovechild that was in her thirties!
A clone? His nieces and nephews had been kidnapped often enough that that was possible. Crazy clones were common enough. But why make a much older version of his niece? One her own age could be used as an assassin or replacement, but that wasn't the case here.
What had she said in her interrogation? I could tell you the truth and you wouldn't believe me, and if you did it would put you in danger. And she'd known Tenel Ka. And she'd destroyed all of her stuff, so they couldn't find out.
It's not a matter of distance- I can't go back.
She'd referred to herself as 'we' and sometimes she'd resonated weirdly in the force. An anomaly. A blood test could prove it, not even a clone was a complete match.
He'd thanked her for saving his family from Qorl, and she'd said "I couldn't let them die." As if it were the most natural thing in the world to put yourself in danger for complete strangers. Well, that is, for other people, people not in his family.
"SHUT UP!" Zekaya screamed desperately, startling both of them.

It wasn't possible! She'd almost run her down in the jungle, she'd talked to her!
"I need to warn you-"
"Are you ok? You look pale." Mara frowned. Luke looked around the room, double checking to see that there was no one she could have been talking to. He probably thought she was crazy. She probably was.
She didn't have much time before her emotions overtook her reason. She reached into her pocket clutching the datapad, she had to be stronger than this. She summoned the dregs of her stubborn will, but something was draining her.
Her thoughts were jumbled with thoughts she had no control over.
Just a Dream. I can't tell him. Jace. Worry for someone else.
Get out of my head! She shook her head violently. Pictures of a time she didn't want to remember bounced around her mind relentlessly. There was no where in her mind she could hide from them. Go! GO! GO!
The force gripped her as her skull pounded. Her thoughts were sucked away from her obediently and replaced with her own from another time.
Jasa! What's happening to me? Is that really going to happen? Are you going to become that monster?
Alone, leave me Alone. Always Alone. They mixed until it became hard to know what she was thinking. Breathing became difficult.
Zekaya turned towards the window, as her heart stuttered.
She struggled to command her lungs to work separately from the commands being sent by Jaina's.
"I don't belong here."
She distantly heard Mara call for a medic, like a knat flying around her head.
It fast became irrelevant.
"I don't belong anywhere."
It all went away.
Luke reached her body first. For a moment he thought she was dead, so small was her presence, so final her words. By her hand was a datapad. One he hoped and feared held the answers to questions he had until now been certain he had wanted answered.
Mara took it from him, skimming over it quickly. "To Aunt Mara and Uncle Luke..."

Bonus points if you can tell me which ship 'Avi' has been talking about this whole time, and who the scared passengers were.

Wat a second. Are you saying Avi's ALLANA?!?  That would make the ship the one that they escaped Myrkyr in, right? No wait, Avi/Allana wasn't there. That would make Avi TK, but that's imposible-she cried!! *rocks back in forth in the fetal position* My head hurts! *groan*

Eep! That was intense and confusing somewhat. Avi was there and then not. Is Avi Tahiri or Allana?  Wow.
Amazing that this is gonna wrap up soon. I have absolutely no idea how things have been altered unless just giving advance information was the only purpose for Zekaya's being there, which I believe. But what's fascinating is how Jaina and Jacen and everyone will act with the new knowledge that they have so things will turn out differently. Will Zekaya disappear at the end, or will she die and if she does, does that mean that the "future" Jaina will be someone else because the future changes? Argh! Did that make sense?

 Totally got me crying with the last line. What horror she's going through all over again. I'm still crying so I have to come back and reread before I make my guess.
Beautiful job tackling the confusion of time travel, and the horror's of Jaina's life.

Full Replies later, but I want to give some clarification.
Avi is NOT Allana, TK or Tahiri. When you meet her in Zekaya's memories she IS an OC. I can feel for you, as I have a habit of making Cannon characters look like OCs for a while.  I can see where you'd get that idea. It seems like something I'd do.
Avi was an older padawan Zekaya knew was from a weird society and that had followed her around a bit. However Zekaya in YJK is not exactly what one would call sane. She's been through a LOT that she is repressing. In her own mind she is weak and beyond healing, however when you see Jacen's visions of the future Zekaya is NOT weak. In the last post Zekaya says that she can't feel Avi in the force anywhere. She's been so caught up in her own problems, ain't that Jaina?, that she hasn't been looking outward at the reality around her. 'Avi' told her as much.
When Jaina accepted that her nightmares of the future might be real, her mind patterns became too close to Zekayas. Before they were such different people, separated by age (every 7 years you shred all your cells) and time had changed Zekaya. But once Jaina opened herself to the possibility she opened herself up to Zekaya. This is a problem for them. Their minds are messing with each others as they are the same person. and the Force has to deal with force signatures.
Here is the brain twister. In the YJK era Avi was never really there, just what Zekaya wanted to believe. She wanted to believe that she wasn't alone. If you'll notice Avi was never around when anyone else was there, and Zekaya often forgets about Avi and Avi does nothing because she isn't there! 'Avi' has become the part of Zekaya filled with memories she's repressing and the drive to get herself to complete the mission she set out for herself.
Crazy isn't it?

I am alive. My computer, with this and all my other stories, is dead. A computer tech is trying to save some of the info on the harddrive but that is a High Hope at best. I have an old Mac,that I'm using right now, that does not have word. All my stories are in .doc. I have no word processer to write on. Until such time as I do, all my thought provoking chapter stories are going to have to go on Standby. Trust me no one is as upset about this as I am.
