Wow! Excellent update! I am glad Mara finally came to her senses. I hope this story has a happy ending. I have had waaaaaayyy to much angst in my life recently. I want a mushing happy ending!!!

See, this is great. Everyone is so well IC, and I love the relationships between them, Han and Luke are perfect (PERFECT!) and L/M are too... And Artoo!  Wonderful update, gal... there's a light at the end of a long tunnel here, I think. Wonderful update here, lady. Always a treat to find you posting on the boards (or giving me a sneaky-peeky!)

My. Lands. That was the rockingest most brilliant update ever! Totally. Bravo for Mara, for Han, and Luke and ARTOO!!!! Thank you so so so so so much JadeLotus for doing Mara up right, strong, fearless, a true survivor. Foot, I love her to pieces.

Things may actually improve for Luke and Mara now that she's finally wiling to open up. However, I do not know how they will fix their public images... I don't think the Bothan realizes what he's done. I can't wait for the next update.

That was so powerful girl! Incredible update. I hope Luke hangs in there with her, he's suffering so much. And how will they get this fixed?? Perhaps if she finally opens up to him.

Great Update!....You always deliver...I loved how sensitive Han was to situation...he's such a good friend for Luke.
Good Job Mara! I hope that Talon thingy is gone for good!

I'm beginning to think that "Talon" was her own fear and despair, a darkness inside her that wanted her own destruction. Without the spice, it had nowhere to manifest itself.
This was intense! I could sense Luke's panic and Mara's frailty. I'm glad she was able to think through it and make the right decision. Loved Han's sweet caring. Even if he offered to rub out the Bothan for them. 
And Artoo! What a great friend!
Loved it. Fantastic!

Bless Artoo-Detoo!  A great addition to a fantastic chapter.
And what's that I see...? Could it be a glimmer of hope for Mara and Luke? JadeLotus, excellent work with drawing us in to Mara's conflict. The part where she suddenly realized that Karrde wouldn't want her to give up even if it meant giving him up was a great character realization for her.
I also concur with the honorable divapilot.  This Talon certainly seems like a symbolic reference to what's going on inside of Mara...her longing to appease the addiction, etc.
Your work always leaves me with my jaw unhinged. Great character portrayals!

Oh, my goodness! This is wonderful! This post was so intense! I felt as if I were Mara, desperate to find a way out, even if it meant death. Oh, that was so good.
You write all of the characters so accurately. That word doesn't even begin to describe it.
Thank goodness that Mara's come to her senses. That was a real turning point for Mara, I think. I think that was the worst of it. At least, I hope so. Well, actually, more angst would be all right as long as it's written as magnificently as this chapter was.
If there's a PM list, please, put me on it!
