RE: Replaced (AU, J/J, Cem,) Post-TSW; Jaina has to deal with being replaced *Update March 2*
I missed last two chapters... I'm sorry!
I missed two amazing chapters!! HOLY COW! Everyone knows but they choose to ignore it. I really feel bad for Jaina.
I have a question though... did JAG know joiner- jaina was an imposter. He didn't know he too well before Myrkr. I was just wondering. When Cighal was giving the results... my hear literally stated beating fast i was like "ok Cighal.... you can say that joiner-jaina isn't really Jaina... come on any day now." And then pow she said they were like exactly alike. I felt so bad for the real jaina. Great two chapters. I'm really sorry i missed them.
Amazing job!

RE: Replaced (AU, J/J, Cem,) Post-TSW; Jaina has to deal with being replaced *Update March 2*
Okay, a couple of things. 1. Jaina doesn't have the Force. 2. The only people who really know that Khay Don is a fake are Khay Don, Zekk, and Jaina. 3. I can't do PM's today because I'm way short on time. Sorry.
Chapter nine
**
So Cem was a spy? That didn’t really matter to Jaina at this point. Actually, it gave her hope that she would be able to discover something new about Jag’s condition. Maybe she’d finally know whether he was alive or not.
Maybe she’d get a chance to see him someday. Maybe he never noticed that she had been replaced. Maybe . . . maybe he’d recognize her for who she was. Maybe . .
But she pushed those thoughts aside. There were more important things to be done right now. Like finding Cem.
She talked to Tionne first. The silver haired Jedi Master had just finished singing a ballad of a long-ago Jedi battle and her class was dissipating. “Excuse me, Master Tionne,” she said respectfully. “Can I have a word?”
Tionne’s grey-blue eyes swept across her. “Certainly.”
“I’m looking for . . . a student.”
“Who?” Tionne inquired.
“Cem Flare.”
“I think I saw him on the landing field earlier,” she said, frowning slightly.
Jaina shook her head. “No, I was with him then. He . . . disappeared later. I’m worried that something might have happened to him.”
Tionne smiled reassuringly. “Don’t worry about him. Cem Flare may not be very strong in the Force, but he is a resourceful young man. He’ll turn up eventually.” With that, she left.
**
Jaina spent the rest of the day searching for Cem. By dark, she still hadn’t caught a single glimpse of the blond spy. Zekk’s words kept replaying in her head.
Just one. But we took care of him.
Retracing her steps for the millionth time, she wandered into the med-bay. “Cem?” she called out, not really expecting to hear him respond.
“I told you, he’s gone.”
Jaina jumped, hearing Khay Don’s voice behind her. She turned slowly, suddenly aware that she was alone in the darkened medical lab. “Where did he go?”
Gingerly, Khay Don touched a deepening purple bruise on her cheek. “What did you ask that brat Jacen to do?”
“I’ll tell if you tell me where –“
“No. The only reason I even let Jacen talk me into sparring him was Zekk. He wanted to try and persuade you to leave Ossus forever.”
“I’m not leaving Ossus.”
Khay Don moved her hand down. “Why not?”
“Because –“
“No one believes you. No one will ever believe you. You’ll just be miserable and rejected. You don’t have to be. You can go someplace else. You can be happy. You can –“
“You can do that too. You can be the one to leave,” Jaina pointed out. She squared her shoulders. “Where’s Cem?”
“Dead.”
“D-dead?” Jaina stammered.
“If not now, then shortly. While you were having your examination, I knocked him out, flew him over a valley, and pushed him out from a considerable altitude.”
“Why!”
“Zekk already told you.” She hesitated. “But it’s more than that. He’s giving you . . .” her mouth twisted into a grimace. “He was giving you hope. Now that he’s dead. You have no reason to stay.”
“I’ll stay to spite you,” Jaina snarled. She lunged forward, curling her hand into a fist and trying to hit the Vong in the face.
Khay Don reacted instantly. She jerked back, raising her lightsaber and switching it on in one smooth motion. “I’ll kill you,” she breathed. “Then I’ll be happy.” She swung the blade toward Jaina.
Jaina reacted instinctively, throwing herself backwards and to the side. Khay Don was moving at the same time. She slammed one booted foot into Jaina’s chest and swung the saber down again.
Inches from Jaina’s face, she stopped. “I . . . owe you for what I already took,” she murmured. “I’ll spare you this once. If you leave now, I won’t kill you.” There was pleading in her words. She really didn’t want to kill. But she didn’t want to give up being Jaina Solo even more.
Listening to the hum of her lightsaber, Jaina tried to formulate a plan. “I . . . can’t leave.”
Khay Don looked truly sorry. Her brandy brown eyes had a shimmer of unshed tears in them. She started lowering the blade again.
“Did you really kill Cem?” Jaina whispered, eyes locked onto the glowing blade, its hissing hum thrumming in her head.
“I tried,” she answered. “And he attempted to return the favor.”
“Is he dead?”
“He’s dying. The fall was hard on his body. I can feel his life-force slipping away.”
“Tell me where you pushed him out.”
“Why?” Khay Don asked softly, halting the blade a scant centimeter from Jaina’s nose.
Jaina’s lips moved, the rest of her body held immobile by the not-so subtle threat the lightsaber presented. She could feel the heat from the blade against her skin and all she could hear was the buzzing hiss from the energy.
“Why do you want to know? Why should I tell you?” Khay Don asked.
“Consider it your duty for taking my life,” Jaina whispered.
Khay nodded. “Over Crescent Canyon.” Her resolve to kill Jaina wavered for a second and then hardened. This was the only way she knew to preserve the life she had come to need. This was the only way that she could stay where she wanted to be.
“I’m sorry,” she whispered to Jaina.
Jaina refused to look away. If she was going to die, she’d do it with her eyes wide open. She wondered, briefly, what would happen when she died. Before she had always assumed that she would become One with the Force. Would that happen now that she’d lost her connection?
Would she be able to see Jag at least? The lightsaber drew closer.
Then the lights came on. “What’s going on here?” Kyp demanded. “Jaina? Jaya? One of you explain.”

Kyp, you are one beautiful sight. Well all the time really, but now was the best time to make an entrance. I'm just saying.
Ha ha phony Jaina. Gotcha!
Jay can give a brief explanation and then go off with Kyp or on her own to save Cem.
Great update. I'm glad I was able to catch it when it was posted.

Careful guys, all that flattery might go to Kyp's head.
Oh, and I won't be able to update tomorow, so I'm updating a day early. Hope you don't mind.
Chapter ten
Khay Don jerked back. “Master Durron!” she exclaimed, switching her blade off and starring at him, a mixture of horror and frustration on her face.
As soon as the lightsaber moved away from her nose, Jaina was on her feet. Then, moving quicker than she thought possible (considering she was out of shape) she brushed past Kyp and into the hallway.
“Hey wait!” Kyp shouted. She felt him attempting to get a grasp on her with the Force and shucked her cloak, allowing him to catch that instead. Khay Don must have made some move to leave as well, because she heard Kyp growl, “Don’t even think about leaving!”
And then she was down another corridor and heading toward the landing field. Once there, she headed straight for the Millennium Falcon, hoping that her father was there.
He wasn’t.
She hesitated before climbing the boarding ramp and powering up the engines.
Unfortunately for her, the ship wasn’t exactly empty. To make matters worse, it was occupied with someone who didn’t officially know that there were two Jaina Solos in and around the galaxy.
<“What are you doing?” > Lowie growled. He moved closer to her, giving a small series of yips and yowls. <”Your father said that we weren’t leaving until tomorrow evening. Where is he anyway?>”
Jaina brushed her hair back from her eyes. “We have to rescue Cem.”
<”Who’s Cem?>”
“He’s a student here at the Temple.”
And a spy if you take Zekk’s word for it . . .
she thought. She twisted in the pilot’s seat to stare at the ginger furred Wookie. “It won’t take long.”
Lowie shook his and sat down in the co-pilots seat. Either he didn’t notice the difference between her now and what Khay Don currently looked like, or he didn’t care. Right now, Jaina wasn’t concerned which it was.
As she fired up the Falcon’s repulsors, she considered her second battle with Khay Don. The Vong was crazy and unstable. She felt certain about that. But at the same time, she was just fighting to keep something good in her life. She only wanted Jaina to leave.
Zekk only wanted her to leave. She could understand that even if she hated it.
But what did she want? She shook her head, clearing the thoughts away and focusing on flying to Crescent Canyon. Later she would deal with the emotional stuff. Right now there was a physical addition to her options.
And, she discovered, flying was
more
thrilling
without
the Force to guide her. It had a wild, unpredictable edge to it. She didn’t know what was going to happen next. It was just her and a roller-coaster of possibilities, all of which seemed equally possible at the moment.
It was, she mused, strange how she was enjoying the uncertainty in her flying, but hated it when she was on the ground.
Of course, as they neared Crescent Canyon, her elation began to deflate. Cem was out here, hurt and possibly dying somewhere. If she still had the Force as her ally, she would be able to sense him – she felt certain about that. But since she didn’t there was a golden walled canyon stretched out before her and not a trace of the blond spy.
She turned slightly to Lowie. “See if you can sense him with the Force.”
“<I don’t even know him; how will I be able to tell if ->”
“Trust your feelings,” Jaina said, trying to project confidence that she didn’t feel.
“<Why don’t you find him and I’ll fly?>” Lowie suggested.
Jaina winched slightly. “That won’t work. I . . .” she hesitated and decided to stretch the truth just a little bit. “I just lost my connection with the Force. I can’t sense anything.”
“<What?” When did this happen?>”
“Er. . . about . . .” but she stopped herself from finishing that sentence.
Lowie ran a hand through his fur. “<Stang, you get sentenced to Dagaboh for meditation, come back, and find the universe change.”
You have no idea . . .
Jaina thought, followed quickly by
Sentenced to Dagaboh? What for?
But the answer to that would wait. She couldn’t afford to tip her hand about her lack of recent event knowledge until after she had found Cem.
“Don’t worry about my loss,” she said. “Right now the important thing is to find Cem.”
Still looking disbelieving, at Jaina’s loss of a Force connection, Lowie growled an agreement.
The silence that descended upon the Falcon was an easy one. Lowie had never seen much use to push Jaina for answers – his Uncle Chewie had warned him about human getting touchy about things like that. And Jaina, for her part, had always felt that Lowie understood her.
If that changed later – after he found out that she was a ‘fake’ – well, there really wasn’t anything she could do about it now.
Twenty minutes of slow flying later, Lowie growled that he sensed something.
“Where?”
He growled the rough coordinates, and Jaina moved the Falcon towards the coordinates. It was a particularly rough patch of canyon, and Jaina quickly realized that there wasn’t any area close enough to land the Falcon safely.
She started to pull the ship in a loop in order to find a place to set down, but Lowie stopped her with a soft growl.
“Fading?” she yelped, highly alarmed. “What do you mean, fading?”
“<The life-force I feel is fading. It’s very weak,” the Wookie growled.
Jaina slid out of the pilot’s chair. “Take control. Get me as close to him as possible. I’ll lower myself with a ladder.”
Lowie didn’t object. He easily recognized the look of a determined human and felt no need to get in her way. Whether her father would be pleased with him taking over the controls was a different matter. With a skilled hand, he brought the Falcon as close to the flickering presence as possible.
The terrain was even rougher looking up close.
“<May the Force be with you,>” he growled loudly, but was unable to hide his concern. He watched her shoot out of the cockpit and shook his head. This was not the best idea. It would be better if he was the one to actually find Cem.
He started to yowl something along those lines to Jaina, but the chirping of his com stopped him. He flicked it on, wondering what Zekk wanted to talk about.
For her part, Jaina didn’t quite make out what he said. She was more concerned with finding a ladder of some sort to lower herself to the ground.
In a small storage room, she started rummaging rapidly through the emergency supplies, looking for the ladder. Her heart was pounding furiously in her chest now.
What if she was too late . . .
Her heart tightened. She didn’t want Cem to die. He was the only one who was on her side. What had Khay Don said?
He gives you hope . . .
Yeah. That was right, and she wasn’t ready to give it up yet.
She couldn’t find a ladder. Biting back a half-growl, half-sob, she hefted a coil of hemp rope and raced to the entrance ramp. Keying it open, she gingerly made her way down, tying one end of the rope to the support struts.
“Lowie!” she shouted. “Are we close?”
Do you still feel him?
she wanted to add, but didn’t. If Cem had died – if the presence he was sensing had vanished – he would have told her.
Lowie shouted back that the presence he felt was just below them and to the left. He also demanded that she take a com-link with her.
“Sure!” she called back. She raced to the Falcon’s lounge grabbing an emergency com that her father kept under the game table. Then, seconds from lowering herself down the rough rope, it struck her that she would need a med-pack. She quickly left and got one before lowering herself towards the rocky terrain below.
Her hands were bleeding by the time she reached the ground. The rough strands of rope had chafed against her palms as she lowered herself. She left the rope dangling, sticky with her blood and started to her left before stopping.
Slowly she lifted the com-link to her mouth, thumbing it on. “Lowie, which way?” she asked, but only got static in response. Then the Falcon flew away, leaving her stranded in the Ossurian canyon.

I hate Zekk. And I can't believe that Lowie would do that to Jaina! At least she has the medpac and a comlink...so she'll be able to help Cem a little and hopefully someone will find them.
So is this going to start looking up for Jaina in a few posts maybe??

I can't really blame Lowie though. He believes Zekk and Zekk's telling him that Jaina is a fake. I have to admit it'd be kinda hard to believe a person who can't use the force is the real Jaina especially when your friend is saying she isn't.
