Chapter four, ignorance Ossus, Jedi Temple Luke Skywalker stood on a slightly raised dais staring at his students. “The Vong are expanding. Somehow they’re recovering fleets that we’ve already destroyed.” Kyp Durron stepped forward, a challenge in his green eyes. “That’s not all. I was in the Yavin system and could swear I saw the Death Star.” hmmm...tht's not good.... Jacen had been on Tatoonie with Tahiri and Valin. Corran swallowed hard, waiting for the news and praying that it would be good. Mara gave him an apologetic look and then directed her attention to Luke. “He says the others were captured. He was left abandoned in the desert . . .” her voice trailed off. Why would Jacen have been left in the desert? Before Traitor, he was on Lah's capture list, and afterwards he was on Choka's death list. Being dropped off and left behind doesn't make sense... “Or are we not going to act?” Kyp demanded harshly. “If you called me here to consul me to inaction, I’ll have none of it.” He looked around the room, staring at each Jedi Master in turn. “It is the duty of a Jedi to restore order to the galaxy. If we have to kill to do that . . .” he let his words trail off and shrugged. “You all know how I feel.” yes, we all know howyp feels.... Luke started to speak, but then fell silent. A scream worked its way through the Force. A powerful tear in the fabric of the universe. It was as Obi-wan had said years and years ago “. . . as if millions of voice suddenly cried out in pain and terror only to be silence suddenly.” He staggered, visibly shaken. Except it wasn’t like that. Not at all. It was more like, “Millions of voices had cried out in terror . . . and abruptly weren’t afraid anymore. In fact, Luke had never felt such widespread confusion before. “What was that?” Tionne asked softly. I bet I know... Luke shook his head numbly. “I don’t know.” He ran his hands over his face. “I really don’t know.” “He pisses me off.” LOL “Don’t upset our hosts.” Is Anakin able to do that??? Anakin smiled wryly. “Would I do such a thing?” he asked innocently. Not giving his master a chance to respond, he pushed the door open button with the Force and stepped into the hallway. Yes. Still, if what they had said was true, then this was Darth Vader. Someone to be feared, if not respected. No, Jag mused, Darth Vader was not really deserving of respect. He ruled through power and fear, not through tactics and strategy. From the old vids he had viewed, he knew that the dark lord had been a talented pilot. But he hadn’t cared about his people. He was self-centered. And that made a lot of difference in the end. Thrawn hadn’t been like that at all. Interesting. Jag has a bad case of Thrawn-worship....Wonder how that will affect things.. He watched rage storm through Anakin’s brown eyes, and silently noted that they had a lot in common with Jaina’s eyes. She got stormy expressions like that. They had been especially bad on Hapes. Interesting comparisons... Jag stood up as well. “Is it?” He was finding himself very unimpressed with Anakin Skywalker. He was ruled by emotions even more than the rest of the Skywalker-Solo clan. And in battle, Jag had the sneaky feeling that the Jedi would not make objective choices, but rather ones clouded by personal opinion. Good insight Mr. Fel. “Well, are you coming? Or do you prefer your ignorance?” ROFL. Good thing this is Ani, rather than Vader. Jag would have been Force chocked by this point Deep in his meditation, he barely heard the door open. At the back of his mind, he decided that it was Anakin and not to be worried about. Then the feeling struck. It was a wave of pure terror the likes of which he had never sensed before . . . which was replaced moments later by mass confusion. I still think I know what it is.... He jumped slightly, focusing his eyes on a curly blond hair young woman sitting cross-legged across from him. She leaned forward, waiting raptly for his answer. heh. Wyn scared Obi. She smiled brightly. “Yeah.” Then a second later she quickly added, “But you had better just call him Captain Fel. He gets freaked out when I call him Jaggie. I’d hate to see what he’d do if you were to call him that.” She needs to tell Jaina that nickname, not Ben. “Well, destroyed is a pretty way of saying that we killed those Vong already.” She looked at him levelly. “And you were killed already.” She intermeshed her fingers. “If you put two and two together . . . you died, but whatever is happening brought you back to life.” Obi-wan took a deep breath, turning the thought over in his mind. It still didn’t feel like he had died, but there was a chance that the girls’ story had some credence. However, it would be impossible for him to say for certain until he had more of the facts. Leave it to a Fel to figure everything out.... Wyn got impatient waiting for his response. “What do you think?” she prompted. Mentally she had all of her fingers crossed. If people who died in the past were coming back to life that meant there was a chance her family wouldn’t be so fragmented anymore. At least that’s what she was hoping. Sounds like someone wants a couple of dead Fel's back...
