The Wookiee Jedi paused for a moment before kneeling down and ripping a panel off of a bulkhead. His furry but dexterous paws fiddled with some wires before he looked up and yelled, [Okay, kid. Try it now!]
Ok...now I know that Lowbacca is technically a few years older than Anakin. But for a Wookie wouldn't he be a little less mature considering how much longer they live than humans do. So...he has no business talking, since the 'kid' is technically him. And I guess he's been hanging around Han Solo for too long.
LOL! It's nice to see Hotaru back in action there. Slice and Dicing at the enemy. Perfect re-entry into the Star Wars dimension.
Great post and as always, looking forward to more! And once again, Happy 29th Birthday!

Well at least everyone is allright...although, as pointed at before, they still have Mara to deal with. I wouldn't want to be in their shoes. Of course, before they can deal with her they have to deal with the thing-that-wasn't-a-tree-but-has-eyes thing. Yeah.....
Oh.....and Happy Birithday Striker!!!!

Han walked over and, with a big grin on his suddenly goofy-looking face, pulled up a chair and sat down next to the bed. “Hi, Lyria!” He started making faces at her, but the baby immediately began fussing and crying.
Awwww! ^_^;;; But YAY! Lyria's here!
Uldir cameo!
Skywalker destroyed ‘a’ Book of the Sith on Korriban, but it was a children’s primer compared to this one.
Not good...
Bane’s ghostly arm drifted over it and foam began bubbling. “Stick your hands in.”
Calaveras’ nose wrinkled at it, but she walked over and stuck her dainty hands up to her elbows.
It is a brilliant plan, I must say. *nods sagely*
She could breathe. She just didn’t have to.
That's pretty convenient. Good for her.
The Sith Lord turned back. Her head tilted down slightly, casting her eyes into shadow. “I am immortal. Time has lost all meaning now.”
OOOOOOH! AWESOME visual! Totally saw the anime effect! Two thumbs way up!
*hides with Idrelle_Miocovani from the scary spider things, as Jaded_Girl is also severely arachnophobic*
Bonus post!
This nameless system was the fifth one checked in the past week and would’ve been bypassed-except for an odd ‘feeling’ everyone received.
Never a good sign...
The Saber’s shields glowed a sickly yellow as they absorbed punishment. Eventually they failed, allowing the pirates to target the hull itself.
Ohhhh... Mara's poor ship...
A sadistic grin crossed Hotaru’s face. “Perhaps the Saber’s laser cannons and my aiming are simply inadequate to the task at hand.”
Scary! *cowers and hides*
Poor Lowie! His leg!
Still, the cruiser hit the jungle at quite a good clip, plowing through the centuries-old growth and digging an impressive trench.
Ohhhhhh... Mara's ship...
The young man quickly noted a brown smear in the treetops. He almost dismissed it as a simple tree trunk, except it had eyes…
Gah! Creepy!
Up! Must know what happens next!
Happy B-day, Striker! *waves little Japan fans*

SSM12-She might be angry...
Although she might also be glad her family and friends aren't dead.
baf-Yeah, pretty much. And I think Lowie's got close to a decade on Anakin, too. Glad you like Hotaru, and thanks.
Earthknight-Thanks.
And... maybe.
Lady_Jade-Yup, still gotta deal with the thing in the trees. And thank you.
Jaded_Girl-Yup, Lyria's here. Glad you like the Uldir cameo. No, not good. Glad you like the plan, there. Glad you like the effect there and I'm sure there's plenty of room for you and Idrelle under the bed.
No, not a good sign. And thanks.
Announcement!

Here we go!
*****
The Wookiee Raaba watched from her perch in the tree as the starship dug a trench through the dense undergrowth. Where did they come from? How did they find her?
She saw a streak in the sky, but simply presumed it to be nothing more than a shooting star. After a few seconds, it quickly resolved itself into a recognizable shape-that of a starship. Raaba’s keen eyes tracked it as it came in, but was still almost knocked about by the shockwave generated when it hit atmosphere.
The Wookiee’s claws dug into the trunk of the tree she stood on as the cruiser sped past mere meters from where she held on for dear life. As soon as it passed, Raaba tensed her mighty legs and leapt from tree to tree in an attempt to get reach it.
Ten minutes later, she reached the ship’s final resting place. Raaba groaned as she observed the slate-gray cruiser. [I’ll be surprised if anyone’s still alive,] she murmured.
The port nacelle was completely sheared off and the aft plating was shot up, while the starboard nacelle looked almost as bad. She gingerly climbed onto the hull and scampered on all fours to a hatch on the starboard side, but hesitated before opening it. Many years ago, she had been exposed to several contagious viruses, forcing her into her exile so as not to spread the plagues.
But it
had
been several years since she had been in contact, and surely the plagues were all dead by now…right? Raaba shook her head, sending her long cinnamon-colored fur shaking about her head. [It doesn’t matter,] she said to herself. [They need my help, here and now]
Raaba grabbed onto the door latch and pulled on it, but it held tight. She growled deep in her throat and the infamous Wookiee berserker rage slowly built in her chest. Everything took on a reddish tint as she pulled against the door. The durasteel hinges groaned and snapped only after a few seconds, allowing her to fling it into the surrounding jungle and slice a large tree in half.
She dove into the ship and found small a human in a purple miniskirt and white sleeveless top, clutching some sort of pole. Before Raaba could do or say anything, twin blades found themselves nestled approximately half a centimeter away from her throat.
A low voice came from the small girl. “Who are you?”
Raaba breathed out and held up her hands [I‘m here to help for kriff sake, not to plunder the ship!].
The young human tilted her head, her short black hair framing her deceptively young, female face. “I apologize,” she said. “We
were
just attacked by pirates.”
Raaba nodded, then grunted in confusion and scratched her head. [How did you know what I said?]
The young woman smirked. “One of my friends on board is a Wookiee.” She turned to the inner door and wrestled with the controls before sliding it open.
Raaba spoke up. [What’s your name?]
The female turned her head around before exiting the main cabin. “I am Hotaru.”
They entered the engine room. Smoke billowed about and emergency lighting cast an eerie glow on the small room. “Lowie is in pain,” Saturn said, wincing slightly.
At that, Raaba grabbed her shoulder and attempted to spin her around. When she didn’t budge, Raaba roared in desperation. [Is his name Lowbacca? Does he have an annoying translator droid?]
The young woman shrugged off Raaba’s durasteel grip and turned to her. “It is and Em Teedee is not too bad. How do you know him?”
Raaba hesitated for a moment before growling, [We were friends on Kashyyyk, but it was long ago.]
Saturn’s right eyebrow rose. “Wookiees have long memories.” She motioned to a corridor with the Silence Glaive. “Lowie is down that way. I must go to the cockpit and see to Anakin.” And with that, she seemed to disappear into the smoke.
Raaba’s nose twitched for a moment before picking up Lowie’s familiar scent. She moved around a console, carefully avoiding sparking wires. Smoke stung her eyes, but the automatic fire extinguishers had put out the worst of any fires. Still, it wouldn’t be too healthy to hang around here.
She immediately noted a hovering droid about three meters in front of her. “Oh, thank the maker!” Em Teedee exclaimed. “Master Low-why, if it isn’t Mistress Raaba!”
The Wookiee jogged over and hefted Lowie’s still form onto her shoulders while EM Teedee hovered around. [What’s happened to him?] she asked.
The droid’s optics flashed in panic. “His leg has been burned and he has smoke inhalation.”
Lowie’s brown eyes fluttered open and his nose inhaled slightly. [Raaba?] he said groggily.
Raaba bared her fangs in a smile as she hefted his weight. [Your Force is obviously with you,] she quipped. And with two long strides, she exited the engine room with Em Teedee trailing behind.
At the opposite end of the ship, Sailor Saturn entered the cockpit and found Anakin standing over the control console. He slammed his hand against the top of it in frustration. “The subspace antenna’s been destroyed!” he snarled.
A flash of light enveloped Saturn as she reverted to Hotaru. She placed a gentle hand on Anakin’s shoulder and whispered to him. “We must leave, Anakin. It‘s not safe here.”
He turned to her and he nodded. “All right.” His eyes looked at the smoke and damage and a sigh escaped his cracked lips. “Aunt Mara’s gonna kill me,” he mumbled.
The pair exited the cockpit and made their way to the main cabin. They met up with Raaba, Lowie and in the least-damaged part of the ship to make plans. Anakin saw Raaba and hesitated for a moment. “Do I know you?” he asked.
The Wookiee hesitated before waving a paw at the door. [We can discuss it later, small one. Right now we’d better get out of here!] The four humanoids and one droid left the wrecked and smoldering ship as quickly as possible, making sure Lowie was tended to.
Raaba set Lowie down onto the ground. By now he was almost fully conscious and the burns on his leg were almost healed. Hotaru bent down and placed her hands on Lowie’s leg and concentrated. The point of contact glowed briefly and the Wookiee let out a sigh as he regained full consciousness. [Thank you, Hotaru.]
She smiled and nodded, then stood back up and turned to Raaba. “Lowie knows you, but we don’t. Who are you?”
There was a brief pause before, [I am Raaba, a childhood friend of Lowbacca’s and one with a heavy conscience.] She told the story of disappearing while attempting to harvest a syren plant during her
hrrtayyk
and her subsequent falling in with the Diversity Alliance. And she ended her tale talking about her self-imposed exile out of shame and necessity.
Hotaru’s eyes flashed when Raaba mentioned being exposed to certain deadly diseases, but Anakin spoke up. “If they were still viable, we’d be dead right now.” He walked up to Raaba and extended a hand. “Would you like to go back?”
Raaba didn’t hesitate. She engulfed Anakin’s hand with both of her paws and pulled him in for a Wookiee-hug. [Thank you, Anakin,] she growled, lifting him off the ground.
Lowie let out a roar of happiness that his old friend had found her way back to him. He stood up and walked over to Raaba, somewhat surprised by the lack of pain, but too happy to care. The two Wookiees embraced, nearly bowling each other over as they hugged.
Anakin and Hotaru stood back and watched the two. “They’re very…enthusiastic,” Hotaru said.
Anakin arched an eyebrow and rubbed his chin. “I don’t believe I’ve ever seen Chewie together with Malla before, so I’m not sure how ‘enthusiastic’ they can get.”
The two Wookiees separated and Raaba spoke to Anakin and Hotaru. [I can bring you to the ship that brought me here,] she said, hesitating before continuing, ]but there was a lightning storm many moons ago. The ship was struck many times. And then there was the rockslide…]
Raaba trailed off, allowing Em Teedee to squeak out, “We’re doomed!”
*****
Three hours later, the quintet stood before Raaba’s old ship…or rather, the tattered remains of it. A pile of rocky debris had consumed the starboard half of the ship, and Anakin’s keen eyes picked out where the rocks had actually broken
through
the hull and into the ship itself.
The port side appeared in even worse shape-if such a thing was possible. Burn marks covered most of the hull, with sections of the armor melted. He looked up at Raaba, mouth open in utter disbelief. “That’s all that’s left?”
Raaba nodded. [I told you about the rockslide and lightning storm.] she growled, agitation creeping into her voice.
Anakin gulped and walked to the ship. “I might be able to salvage… something.”
Lowie followed him and the two Jedi entered the port side through a jagged hole in the hull. Anakin unclipped his lightsaber and ignited it, sending forth a bright blue light into the darkness. He waved it around and looked over the shattered remains of the interior with creeping despair..
A low moan escaped Lowie’s mouth. [There’s nothing here we can salvage.]
Anakin cast out with the Force, but not even the boy genius could sense anything of value.
Outside, Hotaru and Raaba talked. “I apologize for threatening you earlier,” Hotaru said, bowing her head to the ground.
Raaba’s eyes flashed with confusion. [Didn’t you… already apologize?]
The Senshi of death looked back up and nodded. “Yes, but it was a reactionary apology. I mean this one.”
The Wookiee nodded, then reached out with a long, hairy arm and mussed Hotaru’s hair. A smile crossed the young woman’s pale red lips. She flinched a bit, but didn’t pull away.
Raaba chuckled, but Hotaru’s face quickly darkened. She fixed her gaze on the wreck. “Their mood has changed for the worse.”
Raaba chuffed in confusion, but she quickly figured out Hotaru’s meaning when she saw Anakin and Lowie emerge from the ship. Both had looks of utter defeat on their faces.
Hotaru ran to Anakin and embraced him, giving him a kiss. “It’s all right,” she said. “We’ll get out of this somehow.”
The young man managed a weak smile, but there was little hope behind it. “Sure we will.”
Raaba looked the three Jedi over and scratched her head in confusion. [Wait, wait. Can’t you Jedi…you know, communicate telepathically?]
The three turned to her, then looked at each other as if the idea was completely new to them. Anakin stuttered for a bit. “Well-“
Hotaru interrupted him. “It takes someone very powerful to broadcast over long distances.”
Raaba arched an eyebrow and crossed her long arms over her chest. [And if you all worked together?]
Five minutes later, the Jedi stood in a circle and held hands. Hotaru was now Sailor Saturn, and Anakin had changed into Tuxedo Titan. The transformations startled Raaba, but Lowie was able to explain everything…albeit in an abbreviated manner.
As she and Em Teedee watched, the trio concentrated and cast their thoughts out into the galaxy.
We need help. Please come.
After ten minutes of concentration, they let go and slumped to the ground. “That…was hard,” Titan gasped out. Lowie barked in agreement while Saturn merely nodded.
Raaba walked up to Titan extended a paw to him, which he gladly accepted. [How long before they hear it?]
A flash of light enveloped Tuxedo Titan as he reverted to Anakin. “I don’t know, Raaba. We might not have been heard at all.” His blue eyes glanced up at the darkening sky. “We’ll just have to wait and see.”

Anja Gallandro slept peacefully in her bunk when the alarm sounded. She bolted out of her bed, grabbed her favorite pair of boots and ran to the cockpit. “What’s wrong?” she shouted.
Sannah looked up from the pilot’s chair. “I heard a voice,” she muttered. “Actually, it was three voices, but I wasn’t sure at first.”
Anja’s eyes widened as she looked out the viewport. She saw stars when she should’ve saw the reddish smear of hyperspace! The cargo pilot grabbed the back of the pilot’s chair and jerked hard, spinning it around. She locked eyes with Sannah and growled. “What in the nine hells of Corellia are you doing??”
Anja’s pale yellow eyes narrowed. “Someone’s in trouble, and we have to help them.”
A look of utter, complete and total incredulity crossed Anja’s face. “You’re actually concerned about someone outside of your circle of friends?” She stood up and arched an eyebrow at Sannah. “I never would’ve guessed.”
Sannah fumed and spoke up. “I
do
care about other people!” She leaned back in the chair, crossed her arms in front of her and looked to the side. “Well, I do most of the time.” She swiveled back to and placed her hands back on the control console. “This is a Force thing, Anja. I heard voices in my head and I know it‘s not crazy voices.”
Anja walked over to the copilot’s chair and sat down, uncertainty playing over her tanned features. Although Anja was Sailor Bespin, she had never displayed any
traditional
Force powers such as telekinesis or the ability to read people’s minds. She had even asked Ami about it back in Tokyo during Galaxia’s attack…
Anja walked up to Ami while the blue-haired genius sat at her computer, sifting through almost incomprehensible amounts of data. Without even looking up, Ami said, “Hello, Anja. Can I help you with something?”
The young pilot timidly held up her transformation wand. “Ami, why do I have this?”
Ami’s hands left her keyboard as she turned around. She looked up at a rather anxious Anja as the cargo pilot repeated, “Why do I have this?” shoving the wand forward.
Ami’s mouth opened for a moment before she could speak. “What do you mean?”
Anja blew out a puff of air straight up, tousling her bangs about. “I know I’m not Force sensitive; I know that. So why can I change into Sailor Bespin?”
Ami heard a note of desperation on her voice and could feel her roiling emotions. She motioned to the brunette to sit on the bed. “Anja, would you like to know something?”
The cargo pilot nodded, allowing Ami to continue. “You don’t have to be Force sensitive to be a Senshi.”
Anja scoffed. “But you’re a Sailor Senshi and a Jedi Knight, and all the other Terran Senshi are also Force sensitive.”
The blue-haired genius nodded. “That’s correct, but your logic is wrong.” She leaned forward, as if to impart a great secret. “The two are not irrevocably intertwined.”
Anja’s nose wrinkled and her eyes narrowed in confusion. “Umm, could you explain that a little better?”
A sigh escaped Ami’s lips as she rolled her eyes. “It’s simple. You don’t have to be Force sensitive to have the powers of a Senshi. And being a Jedi doesn’t guarantee being able to tap into a planet’s innate energies.”
Anja let out a breath. Whether it was a sigh of relief or not, Ami would never know.
After a moment, Anja stood up. “Thanks, Ami. That answered a lot of questions.” The cargo pilot walked out of the room, allowing Ami to return to her search for Galaxia’s hideout…
Anja blinked her hazel-brown eyes as she broke her reverie off. “I guess we’d better help them.” She turned to Sannah and said, “Where are they?”
Sannah turned around in her chair and pointed to a spot on the deck just behind the chair. “It’s that way, I think.” She looked back up and a nervous smile crossed her thin lips. “Of course, I could be wrong.”
*****
Anakin looked up into the night sky and sighed. Every night for the past week, he, Lowie and Hotaru had held hands and sent out a SOS through the Force. And every night, they went back to the remains of the
Jade Saber
, unsure if they were heard.
Raaba glanced up as he returned. A wild animal she had captured earlier turned on a spit over a roaring fire while Hotaru and Lowie sat around a pile of equipment. Lowie held a soldering iron and welded a piece of paneling back onto the side of a computer console. He looked up at Anakin and spoke. [I have an idea on how to get the radio working again.]
“It’s rather ingenious,“ Em Teedee said while bobbing above him. “An excellent use of available materiel.“
Anakin walked over to him. “What, are you gonna use Hotaru’s Silence Glaive as an antenna?” A snort of laughter escaped his lips, but it died when he saw the polearm sticking into the ground.
His lips parted in astonishment. “I thought you had to be in Senshi form to use it!” he exclaimed.
The young Senshi of death shrugged. “So did I.” She looked up at the Silence Glaive as both of its blades glowed softly. “I hope this works,” she muttered. “I don’t recall reading that the Glaive can be used as a makeshift antenna.”
Anakin’s blue eyes flashed. “There’s a Senshi instruction manual?” He looked around the area, not quite believing his ears. “That’s great! I-“ He soon noticed the love of his life holding her sides in a vain attempt to hold in laughter.
“There’s no…manual!” she sputtered out even as peals of laughter erupted from Hotaru. She slid off the crate she sat on and clutched her sides even tighter.
At that, Anakin stomped over and knelt beside her. He grabbed her by the arms, hauled her up and began tickling her mercilessly. His fingers went all over her stomach, sending her into fits of giggles. Her normally pale face flushed a deep crimson.
Hotaru wasn’t defenseless, however. She telekinetically picked up a handful of leaves and levitated them onto Anakin’s head and down his collar. “Take that,” she imperiously cried.
He let her go and grabbed at the leaves sticking to his blond hair. “Get them off me!” he cried, dancing about.
Lowie, Raaba and Em Teedee merely stared at the two humans, not entirely sure if they were fighting or doing a courtship ritual.
The three Force sensitive beings suddenly stopped and looked up to the night sky. [Someone’s up there,] Lowie said.
Anakin’s blue eyes focused on a bright pinpoint of light near the horizon. “They feel…familiar.” All trace of his fun side had vanished. Now he was Anakin Solo, Jedi Knight and Tuxedo Guardian.
Hotaru’s demeanor underwent a similar change, but was a bit more severe. The Silence Glaive’s handle popped out of the ground and flew to her hand. She plucked the polearm out of the air and spun it around over her head, dropping the blades down in front of her in a defensive position.
Lowie removed his bowcaster from its sling and cocked it, readying an explosive quarrel. Em Teedee hovered around his head, optics bright. He also checked his lightsaber attached to his syren fiber belt and made sure it was operational.
Raaba merely bared her fangs and picked up the nearest tree branch, feeling uncharacteristically inferior to everyone else.
The bright point of light grew, quickly resolving itself into a modified freighter. Anakin sighed in relief and his shoulders sagged somewhat. “It’s Anja’s ship, the
Third Chance
.” He concentrated and sent Sannah a telepathic message.
I’m glad you came. Thank you.
The reply took a little longer to reach his mind than he thought it should.
It’s no problem, Anakin. Although it did take a bit to convince Anja…and to find this rock.
Anakin could see Sannah gazing through the viewport with a smirk on her lips in his mind’s eye, and it brought a faint smile to his lips.
The
Third Chance
landed a few meters from the wreck of the
Saber
. The landing ramp extended and the main hatch opened, allowing Anja and Sannah to exit.
Anja ignored the five stranded people and instead walked up to the battered cruiser. Her brown eyes looked over the multiple holes in the aft armor, the destroyed starboard engine nacelle and the stump of the connecting pylon that once held the port engine. A low whistle escaped her lips. “Mara is going to kill you.”
There was silence for about thirty seconds before, [Well, can you at least get us to Yavin IV so Mistress Jade can kill us?]
Anja turned her head around and looked over at Lowie. “Easy there, Lowie.” She turned back to the formerly sleek cruiser. “You’re lucky Sannah and I are between cargo runs. We can tow the ship back to Yavin.”
She looked back at Sannah and yelled, “Sannah, get the tractor beams powered up!” The older teen curtly nodded and jogged back into the freighter, allowing Anja to ask, “So, how the Sith did this happen?”
Anakin let out a sigh. “We were tracking reports of pirates when they jumped us.”
The pilot’s brown eyes flashed. “Did they use an old cargo ship retro-fitted into a carrier?”
Hotaru nodded, too surprised at Anja’s guess to say anything.
Anja then looked over at Raaba. “Is she a friend of yours?”
Lowie roared and wrapped his left arm around Raaba‘s shoulders. [Yes!]
Anja snorted and motioned to the
Third Chance
. “Your chariot awaits.” She walked back to the ship and boarded it, followed by Anakin and Hotaru.
Em Teedee floated up the main ramp and through the hatch, leaving Raaba and Lowie alone for a minute. Raaba’s eyes looked about the clearing as she sighed. [A part of me will almost miss this place.]
Lowie walked up to her and grabbed her shoulder. [I’d miss you even more if you stayed.]
At that, the female Wookiee turned and gently cuffed him on the cheek. [You always were a smooth-talker, Lowbacca,] she teased The two old friends laughed before walking hand in hand to the
Third Chance
.
As soon as the pair boarded, the entry ramp retracted and the main hatch sealed shut. The repulsorlift engines fired, ant the freighter quickly rose to a height of ten meters and moved forward, stopping just above the
Jade Saber
. A silvery beam shot out of an emitter on the ventral surface, enveloping the wreck and lifting it off the dirt.
Sannah directed the tractor beam from the cockpit and watched the power levels. “Everything’s nominal,” she reported. A screen in front of her reflected of her yellow eyes, turning them almost silvery.
Anja gripped the control stick and pulled back, sending her freighter out of the atmosphere and into deep space. “It couldn’t be smoother,” Anja muttered. She checked the hyperspace coordinates for Yavin IV before pulling back on the lever, plunging the two tethered ships into hyperspace.
*****
May 26, 2005
Mara’s green eyes widened as she paced back and forth, counting each and every hull breach along the aft armor plating. Her head darted around frantically as she focused on each little perforation in the durasteel skin. “This is…this is…” She repeated those two words every five seconds, making Anakin, Hotaru and Lowie more and more nervous.
When they had landed earlier that day, Mara and Luke were naturally overjoyed to see them alive and well. “We heard your distress call, but by the time we were ready to go, Anja beat us to it,” Mara said, rather sheepishly and blushing slightly. She turned to the young woman and extended her hand. “Nice job, kid.”
The eyebrow over Anja’s right eye raised in amusement as she heard ‘kid’. “Thanks, oh elder one,” she quipped, shaking Mara’s hand.
The Jedi Master’s eyes narrowed a bit and her hand clenched slightly. “Call me elder when I hit the century mark, and not a moment before.”
Luke, meanwhile, approached Raaba. Even if he wasn’t a Jedi Master and Tuxedo Guardian, he would’ve been able to feel her nervousness. He held up his right hand and projected an aura of calm. “I’m glad to see you once more, Raaba. I hope your time in the wilderness was productive.”
Raaba nodded. [It was, Master Jedi.] She looked over his shoulder to the Great Temple. [May I contact my family?]
Luke smiled and led her up the one hundred steps of the Jedi Academy, leaving Mara alone with Anakin, Hotaru, Lowie, Em Teedee, Anja and Sannah. She walked over to the
Third Chance
. “I’ll listen to your report later, Anakin. Tionne and Kam are watching over Lyria right now, but I already miss not-“ She stopped talking and halted right in her tracks, her mouth open in shock as she saw the full extent of the damage to her ship. “This is…this is…”
After about five minutes, she turned around and held her hands out, palms angled up. “You were sent out to investigate alleged reports of pirates, pirates armed with-with technology from the Galactic Civil War or before!”
She pointed to the shredded starboard engine nacelle just as a conduit ruptured, sending forth a plume of gas. “How the Sith did this happen?”

entry ramp. Anakin, Hotaru and Lowie, however, could do no such thing.
Hotaru stepped forward. “It was my fault, Mistress Jade. My inexperience with the laser cannons allowed the pirates extra-“
Anakin interrupted her. “That’s not true. It was my bad piloting that-“
A loud roar interrupted
him
. [Anakin is wrong. It was my fault. I couldn’t keep the shields up or the-]
Mara interrupted them. “Stop it, you three.” She let out a breath and waved her hands about before continuing. “I am a little…miffed at the damage to my ship.” She stepped back and ran her hand along the stump of the port pylon. “My beautiful ship…all smashed up.” She abruptly shook her head and turned back to the three. “But that doesn’t matter. What does is that you’re all right.”
She looked over their shoulders and saw Luke walking back down the steps and holding onto a little bundle. “Raaba’s deep in conversation with her family, and this little gal wanted to see you. And I just couldn‘t say no to such a pretty face.”
Mara carefully took little Lyria and held her close to her chest. Luke stood over his wife and looked down at his daughter. She had the same eyes as Mara, but with the Skywalker intensity. A little curl of light-red hair jutted down right between her eyes. To both Mara and Luke, she was prettier than anything in the galaxy, Known or Unknown Regions.
Anakin, Hotaru and Lowie waited while Luke and Mara fussed with Lyria. Hotaru finally coughed into her hand, snapping the two Jedi Masters back to reality. They looked up with a start. “Ah!” Mara said.
She motioned to the three. “Get cleaned up and meet me back here in three hours. I don’t care how long it takes, we’re getting my ship repaired.” She, Luke and Lyria then walked off to the Temple, leaving Lowie, Anakin and Hotaru back at the landing field.
“Well, I’d say we got off easy,” Anakin quipped.
Hotaru whipped her head around and stared at him, open-mouthed in shock. “We got off easy? How in the nine hells of Corellia do you figure that?”
Lowie walked over to her and patted her on the head, mussing her normally straight black locks. [It’s easy, Hotaru. We’re still alive.]

Awesome chapter. Nice meeting Raaba, and Mara let them off the hook...though I bet she'll give a stern warning to them if this ever happens again..

Yet another great post Striker!
Though it does seem as though Mara let them off a bit easy. Perhaps motherhood has changed her attitude. Of course I am in now way saying that Mara has gone soft. If I did, she would undoubtably come after me.....
Looking forward for more!

Aww, I like Raaba! Wookiees are awesome.
Mara does seem to have gone a little soft, but I'm sure it's only temporary.
Excellent update! Looking forwards to more.

Ten minutes later, she reached the ship’s final resting place. Raaba groaned as she observed the slate-gray cruiser. [I’ll be surprised if anyone’s still alive,] she murmured.
If they are, they might not be when they limp home...
[I can bring you to the ship that brought me here,] she said, hesitating before continuing, ]but there was a lightning storm many moons ago. The ship was struck many times. And then there was the rockslide…]
*Jaded_girl looks around for the idiot who asked if it could get any worse, so she can pound him or her*
I heard voices in my head and I know it‘s not crazy voices.”
I like that line! I wish I had an opportunity to use it!
Anakin walked over to him. “What, are you gonna use Hotaru’s Silence Glaive as an antenna?” A snort of laughter escaped his lips, but it died when he saw the polearm sticking into the ground.
HA! Awesome!
At that, Anakin stomped over and knelt beside her. He grabbed her by the arms, hauled her up and began tickling her mercilessly. His fingers went all over her stomach, sending her into fits of giggles. Her normally pale face flushed a deep crimson.
AWWWW!!! They're so cute!!!
Lowie, Raaba and Em Teedee merely stared at the two humans, not entirely sure if they were fighting or doing a courtship ritual.
Not too far off, actually...
~A low whistle escaped her lips. “Mara is going to kill you.”
~There was silence for about thirty seconds before, [Well, can you at least get us to Yavin IV so Mistress Jade can kill us?]
*snort, cough* *resists the urge to say "told ya"* Love lowie's line. 'Course, Mara's mellowed over the years. Maybe she'd settle for indentured servitude...
She looked over their shoulders and saw Luke walking back down the steps and holding onto a little bundle. “Raaba’s deep in conversation with her family, and this little gal wanted to see you. And I just couldn‘t say no to such a pretty face.”
*Jaded_Girl lets forth the mother of all "awww"s* *'cause Luke is just too damn cute* *and sweet* *and a great daddy*
Yay for Lowie, Anakin and Hotaru's narrow escape from death! Both from the pirates and Mara! Let us celebrate with an UP!

Nice!! Do I sense a Raaba/Lowie parring? Is Raaba an OC or has she appeared in the books before? Poor Mara...her beautiful ship. LOL...but seriously, they are lucky that she is a Mother now and doesn't want her daughter to ask her why she killed three scared teenagers.
Looking forward to more!

SSM12-Thanks. I just think Mara would be more concerned over her family being safe rather than her ship. Sign of maturity, you know?
Lady_Jade-Yeah, not a good thing to say to Mara.
Although like I said, I think she'd be more concerned about her nephew and the two Jedi rather than her ship.
Taeniaea-Thank you.
Idrelle-Thanks. I like Raaba too. And hmm... I'm sensing a pattern.
Jaded_Girl-Probably not. *Hands idiot over to Jaded_Girl for pummeling* I like that line too. Although I wouldn't want to use it.
Yes, they are cute. Why do you think I devote an entire arc to their wedding?
Yes, Mara has mellowed/matured over the years. Luke is cute and a great daddy, yes.
baf-Good senses, there. Raaba is canon from the YJK Diversity Alliance arc. I suppose they're lucky...
A Question
Do any of you really think Mara would be more concerned over her ship rather than Anakin-her nephew, Hotaru-fellow Senshi and soon to be in-law, and Lowie-fellow Jedi and nephew to her Honor Brother Chewie? I know I fooled around a bit with it, but I do think she'd care more for her family/friends rather than her ship.
Here we go!
*****
Coruscant, Column Commons. July 11, 2009
Jaina and Zekk walked up to an apartment, holding each other’s hands and feeling their Force bond
surging
through that physical contact. Jaina turned her head around and looked up into Zekk’s nervous green eyes. “Are you ready?”
Zekk let out a nervous laugh. “Are you kidding me? I’ve faced off against Dark Side clones, evil soul-stealing Senshi and beings powerful enough to wipe out whole galaxies.” His mind turned to the people waiting on the other side of the door and he shivered. “I’m absolutely terrified.”
Despite his utter seriousness, a slight laugh escaped the young Major’s lips. “Zekk, don’t ever change.”
Zekk shrugged. “I’m a Tuxedo Guardian. I never will change.” He paused before adding, “of course, Han could put a blaster bolt or rose stem right between my eyes, Chewie could rip my arms off or Leia could change into Sailor Alderaan and fry me with ‘Twilight Pulse’.”
Jaina sighed and tuned him out as she rung the doorbell. A mental voice soon sounded in her head.
It’s open.
The two exchanged one final glance before she opened the door. They stepped into Han, Leia and Chewie’s Coruscant house and stopped about three meters inside. The current residents were in the living room, none of them looking happy in the slightest.
Leia had her arms crossed against her chest with her transformation wand in one hand and her lightsaber in another. Han, meanwhile, wasted no time.
The older man stomped right up to Zekk and grabbed him by the collar. “What makes you think you can just elope with my daughter like that?” he shouted. “That’s my baby girl!”
Jaina immediately grabbed Han’s arm and tried to pry his grip off of Zekk’s collar. “Dad, let him go!” she gritted through clenched teeth.
Han’s brown eyes flickered to his daughter. “Jaina, you’ll thank me later.” He then looked over his shoulder and shouted, “Chewie, get to ripping!”
The big Wookiee began ambling over, but Leia
moved
in front of him, seeming to teleport herself there. “Stay there, Chewie,” she said, holding up a hand.
Han’s honor brother hesitated before shrugging. [Very well, Leia. I shall see if he is worthy of Jaina.]
At that, Jaina turned to Chewie. “’Worthy’ of me? What the kriff does that mean? He’s very worthy of me!”
By now, Han’s knuckles were inadvertently pressing into Zekk’s neck, causing him to turn a lovely shade of purple. “Umm…I need…air,” he sputtered. Han abruptly let go of his collar, letting the bounty hunter suck in some much-needed gasps of oxygen.
Leia walked over and grabbed Jaina’s arm. “We have to talk.” She pulled her daughter away from the men, but when Han started to follow, Leia turned to him and said, “alone.” And with that, they went into the kitchen.
Han turned back to Zekk, who stood there almost in defiance of him. “Why?” Han asked. “Why did you elope with Jaina?”
Zekk licked his lips and weighed his words carefully. “I love Jaina very much, Han.” His eyes darted tom the floor and to the walls and ceiling, as if he didn’t want to look Han in the eye. “It just seemed right, you know?”
The former smuggler and currently overprotective father mentally took a step back and looked over Zekk. Truth be told, he really did like the kid-guy.
He’s a man now
, Han corrected himself. But still, there was the fact that he married Jaina and took her away from him.
An old proverb suddenly flashed through his mind.
Your son is your son until he takes a wife, but your daughter’s your daughter all her life.
Han choked back tears at that and wiped his eyes with his sleeve.
He regarded Zekk and placed his hands on his hips. “I’m sorry, kid. I know you’re the best for Jaina, but this old man’s as stubborn as a mule.” He extended his right hand forward.
Zekk looked it over and arched a sardonic eyebrow. “You’re not gonna pull me in and sucker punch me, are you?” Han’s eyes went wide and his mouth dropped open in a ‘who, me?’ expression. At that, Zekk grabbed Han’s hand and pumped it twice. “Thanks, Dad.”
Chewie immediately took a step back and chortled. Han’s face changed slightly, reflecting the shift of mood from one of grudging acceptance to one of extreme annoyance. “Zekk?” he with exaggerated sweetness.
The younger man picked up on Han’s mood swing through the Force and promptly wished he could go back in time to retract the ‘thanks Dad’. “Yes?”
Han pulled on his arm, yanking him forward. “Don’t call me Dad.”
*****
Leia and Jaina had their own ‘discussion‘ in the kitchen while the men hashed things out in the living room. Leia paced in front of the kitchen table, hands clasped behind her back. “This was unexpected, to say the least.” She suddenly stopped and looked into her daughter’s eyes. “Did this have anything to do with the incident at Centerpoint?”
At that, Jaina chuckled darkly. “Gee, let me think. I nearly die when my guardian planet’s almost irradiated and Zekk has to link up with my soul in order for me not to expire, turning our Force bond into a permanent link between our souls.” She wrapped her arms around herself and sighed as the memories came back to her. “I could barely stand up, let alone do anything of value until Zekk risked his life for me.”
Her eyes glittered with unshed tears as she looked to the doorway to the living room. “Without him, I‘d be dead and the Corellian System an irradiated wasteland. I love Zekk, Mom. And he loves me.”
Leia allowed a smile to cross her mouth. “I won’t pretend I’m angry at you, Jaina.” She looked away as Jaina’s smile dropped and tears finally broke through the dam. “Why did you have to run away like that?”
Jaina’s rebuttal caught in her throat when she felt her mother’s sadness at being excluded from her only daughter’s wedding. “Oh, god. I’m so sorry Mom I’m so sorry I didn’t mean to hurt you.” She walked over and placed a hand on Leia’s shoulder. “I just didn’t know what to do. Things were happening so fast and when Zekk asked me to marry him...”
The two women quickly embraced as tears flowed freely from both of them. Leia spoke in between sobs. “I nearly… lost you before. And I don’t want to lose you again!” The two separated and rubbed their eyes. “Was it a good wedding?” Leia finally asked.
Jaina nodded and wiped her cheeks. “It wasn’t too bad. Corellian laws were pretty lax in that department so it was quick.” A small chuckle escaped her lips. “I still can’t believe Peckhum was in the system and agreed to be the witness.”
Leia smirked at that. “Well, I’m glad he was. How did you think we found out so quickly?”
Jaina’s mouth dropped in surprise. “He did not!”
Leia nodded, then motioned to the living room. “Yes, he did. And now you have to go talk to your father and Chewie.”
Both women felt a surge of anger from the patriarch of the Solo clan. “That’s a bad feeling I’m getting from Dad,” Jaina muttered.
The two women walked into the living room just in time to hear Han say, “Don’t call me Dad.”
Jaina walked over and gave him a kiss on the cheek. “I love you, Daddy.”
At that, the big, scruffy-looking nerf herder looked down at his daughter and his heart melted. “I love you too, sweetie.” His face then screwed up and his eyebrow twitched. “Hey, wait a minute! You’re trying to butter me up so I won’t kill Zekk.”
His daughter’s eyes went wide in mock surprise. “Whatever made you think that?”
Han sighed and waved her off. “I won’t kill Zekk, honey.” At that, the young man’s shoulders slumped in relief.
“I’ll simply be the meddling father-in-law.”
Chapter Four: Hell Unleashed
January 1, 2014
For almost ten years, Sailor Pluto stood and observed the pieces of the puzzle move into place. A bright band of light shone in front of her as she stood inside the time gate, representing the timeline. A patch of darkness approached, and Pluto knew it was time for action.
She turned from the shaft of light and walked up to a doorway. The onyx-colored gateway opened, revealing Haruka and Michiru’s dining room. The two ladies looked up from their tea in surprise at Pluto’s appearance. “Where the hell have you been?” Haruka blurted out.
Pluto’s scarlet eyes rolled. “I have been busy observing the flow of the space/time continuum, Haruka.”
Michiru held her hand to her chin in thought at her friend‘s words. “Does that mean you’ve been doing nothing but staring at a beam of light for nine years?”
The Jedi Master gripped her time staff so tightly she nearly bent it in half. “Get your lightsabers and transformation wands,” she growled through clenched teeth.
The two best friends looked at each other with the same twinkle in their sky-blue eyes. “I think we’ve got a mission,” Haruka said.
Pluto nodded. “Remember the Galaxia-created shell of Calaveras that escaped the final battle?” Both Senshi nodded and Pluto continued. “She has raised an army of Sith-created beings known as the Charon. As I speak, they are preparing to leave a dimensional trap known as Otherspace with over 100,000 ships.”
Haruka’s blue eyes hardened and she shot to her feet, her right hand curled into a fist by her thigh. “That’s not good.”
Pluto’s scarlet eyes flashed. “She will attack not only the New Republic, but Earth as well. Even with the Justice League, I am not confident in the military’s ability to defend this planet.”
Both Michiru stood up, transformation wand in her hand along with Haruka. “We need to get the others,” Michiru said.
Pluto nodded. “Where are they?”
Both women paused at the Senshi of time’s question. “You mean…you don’t know?” Haruka asked, incredulity oozing from the words. “You’re the guardian of the space/time continuum! You’ve gotta know where everyone is!” she exclaimed. “It’s in your job description!”
Pluto growled and narrowed her eyes until they were slits. “I am not omniscient, Haruka.” She paused and her dark skin blushed a bit. “And I…spaced out a bit.”
Both Outer Senshi clamped their hands over their mouths in an utterly vain attempt to prevent gales of laughter from emanating from them. After a solid three minutes, Sailor Pluto unclipped her lightsaber from her skirt and thumbed the trigger, sending forth a bright golden plasma blade.
“ENOUGH!” she shouted. “There is no time for frivolities, Ten’ou Haruka and Kaiou Michiru. This planet and the Silver Millennium that will follow are in danger of being annihilated.” She looked at both ladies, who by now were feeling thoroughly ashamed of themselves.
“Ami’s in Boston with her fiancé Ryo, teaching a course there. Mamoru was elected Prime Minister and is leading the country to a new era of prosperity. Minako’s touring with the Rolling Stones and Aerosmith. Rei's at the temple. Makoto still runs the bakery and Kyp’s still a private investigator.” Michiru paused for a moment. “I believe that’s everyone.”
Pluto nodded, but her gaze soon drifted to the ceiling as waves of dread settled over them. “It has begun,” Pluto muttered. “They have been unleashed.”
*****
Otherspace
Darth Calaveras let out a manic chuckle as the newest Dark Lord of the Sith stood on the bridge of the Charonian flagship, the
Blood Fang.
The Prophet of the Void towered over her, his fangs dripping saliva and ichor. “Our entire race stands ready to wipe out all life from the galaxy,” he said. “What orders do you have for us?”
Calaveras looked up at him and suppressed a little shiver before saying, “Remind Group B of that little hyperspace instability. I want Earth leveled and all Terran Senshi dead.” The Prophet bowed his arachnid head before ambling off on his four feet.
With that matter taken care of, Calaveras gripped the handrail in front of her as the
Blood Fang’s
thrusters fired and the ship lifted off the planet and soared into space. 99,999 other identical models followed, each one equipped with a copy of the hyperdrive unit from the stolen freighter.
Each ship was also identically built, a reverse arrowhead with four engines attached to the ventral and dorsal surfaces and delta wings. Eight long laser cannons stuck out the side, resembling legs. Finally, two heavy laser cannons jutted out of the bow, just below the main bridge along with dozens of smaller lasers and torpedo launchers scattered along the 1,000-meter hull. The ships quickly fell into formation as they awaited Calaveras’ word.
She leaned forward and spoke two words into a microphone mounted on a console before her. “Unleash death.”
Space twisted inside otherspace as the hyperdrives engaged, sending the fleet hurtling towards an unsuspecting galaxy.
*****
Boston, Massachusetts
Mizuno Ami stood in front of her desk, lightsaber and transformation wand in hand. Her fiancé Ryo had told her of a vision he had received. “Remember the vision I told you about ten years ago?” he asked over breakfast.
Ami’s breath caught in her throat when that memory came flashing into her mind. “You said something about a battle in an asteroid belt.”
Ryo drank some orange juice and organized his thoughts before replying. “Someone will be coming for you at the end of the day, Ami. You should go with her.”
And so Ami went about her business, getting ready for the new school year at Harvard and going through the motions. At precisely 5:00 PM, a black doorway appeared in front of her and opened, disgorging Sailors Pluto, Uranus and Neptune.
Neptune looked Ami over and smirked. “So, Doctor Mizuno. How’s business?”
Ami sighed and stood up, allowing her to look the Amazon in the eye. “I already know something’s up, Haruka. Ryo told me about it earlier today.” She then held her transformation wand high and shouted, “Mercury Crystal Power Makeup!”
A cerulean ribbon of energy twirled around her body, melting her lab coat and clothes and replacing them with a Sailor Fuku complete with a bright blue bow on front and a matching miniskirt. Knee-high boots and elbow-length gloves completed the ensemble. “I am ready.”
Neptune looked at her, confusion showing slightly on her face. “If I may ask, Ami. What are you doing here? College doesn’t start up again for two more days.”
The blue-haired genius cocked her eyebrow at her. “I have to get ready for the new classes, Michiru.” She motioned at the time gate with the handle of her lightsaber. “Are we ready?”
Pluto let a smile cross her lips. “We are. Lead on, Sailor Mercury.”
Mercury bowed slightly before entering the swirling mists.
*****
Tokyo, Japan
Sailor Mars stood in front of the sacred fire, lightsaber at the ready as the other Senshi emerged from the time gate. “I’ve been waiting!” she snarled. “What the hell kept you?“
Both Uranus and Neptune stared at her in astonishment. “How did-I mean-“
Mars cut off the stuttering Senshi of the sea. “I’ve been getting weird as hell visions for the past nine and a half years.” She walked up to Pluto and looked up at her. “The Charon have left otherspace,” she stated. Pluto nodded and tried to hide her surprise, but the raven-haired Senshi of fire caught it through the Force. “Their name is engraved in my mind, Setsuna.”
She turned to Mercury and smiled. “How have you been?”
Mercury shrugged. “I’ve been quite busy, Rei. University life can take quite a bit out of you.”
The priestess closed her eyes, smiled and shook her head. “You’re a college professor and you’re not even forty.”
A blush crossed Mercury’s cheeks. “Oh, I’m not that good.”
Mars slapped her on the back, nearly knocking the comparatively petite Senshi to the ground. “You’ll never change, Ami.” She pointed to the time gate. “Come. The Prophet and Calaveras are waiting.” And with that, she walked into the swirling mists.
Sailors Neptune and Uranus exchanged worried glances. “How did she know?” Uranus asked.
Neptune merely shrugged. “She is powerful in the Force.”
