SSM12-Glad you like the Naruhina. And yeah, Tionne's cool like that. And thanks for the bump.

baf-Well, they are rather modest, after all. Seriously? Man, that's uber-awesome. happy And yes, she's cool.

Taeniaea-Thanks. happy

Jaded_Girl-LOL, yes, you have. No, can't look away. *Revives Jaded_Girl* Ooh, the Hammertong! I can't believe you remembered! laugh Minako is random, yes.

TIEPilot-Thanks. grin Glad you like.

I'd like to thank Jaded_Girl. Way back during the first posting of this, she wrote up a wonderful hypothesis of how a fight between Tenel Ka and Makoto against Haruka and Michiru would go. I'd like to again thank her for making this scene awesome. peace

Here we go!

*****
Twelve minutes earlier
Hotaru walked over to the cruiser as its landing gear lowered and the engines powered down. Raynar, Lusa and Tahiri strode down the main ramp even before it opened fully. “Well, if it isn’t the blushing bride!” Raynar said, giving her a quick hug.

Hotaru returned it. “Oh, it’s good to see you three! I was wondering where you were.” Lusa shrugged. “We were delayed on Chandrila. Tahiri wanted to do some gift shopping.” The two looked back and saw the blond hanging back a bit.

Hotaru walked up to her. “I’m glad to see you here, Tahiri.”

The Senshi of sand smiled…or tried to. “I’m glad to be here,” she said, holding out a trembling hand to Hotaru.

Hotaru looked Tahiri over before clasping it and giving her arm a good pump. She led the three down the ramp and over to the steps leading up to the Great Temple. “Tahiri, I was wondering if you’d like to be my maid of honor,” Hotaru asked, looking back at her.

Tahiri’s green eyes narrowed. “Why…I’d be honored. However, I think I‘ll decline. Wouldn‘t Haruka or Michiru be more suited for that?”

Hotaru’s face fell and her eyes narrowed, but she nodded. Raynar and Lusa exchanged a brief glance, but neither said anything.

The quartet walked up to a turbolift car and entered the car. The doors shut and it rose to one of the middle levels. Hotaru felt Tahiri’s green eyes staring at her, but she didn’t know what her problem was. The door opened and they exited, Lusa and Raynar taking a spacious room halfway down the hall while Tahiri took a smaller room near an intersection.

Hotaru’s violet eyes narrowed. “Tahiri, what’s wrong? You can tell me.”

Tahiri shook her head and pasted a smile on her face. “I’m fine, Hotaru.” She patted the Senshi of death on her shoulder and led her out of the room. “You just go and get ready for your wedding.” Before Hotaru could utter a protest, the door closed in her face. As soon as it closed, Tahiri slumped against the door, letting the tears fall from her eyes. She ran her fingers through her long, blond hair and let the sobs wrack her body for the next several hours. Why? Why couldn’t he have been mine?
*****
Hotaru wandered the halls, eventually running into Rei and Miko. “Oh, hey!” she called out. “Rei, I have an important question to ask-”

The Jedi Master cut off the bride-to-be with a wave of her hand. “Yes, I will preside over your wedding.”

Hotaru’s jaw dropped. How did she do that? I didn’t feel my mind probed!

Rei’s onyx eyes noted the confused expression on Hotaru’s face. “Anakin caught up to me about ten minutes ago.” She smiled and bowed her head. “I feel most honored for being asked.”

Hotaru returned the bow. “I feel honored that you accept.” She then turned to Miko. “Did Anakin ask you anything?”

Miko shrugged nonchalantly. “He mentioned something about me being a groomsman. I wonder if I’ll accept…” He looked to the ceiling and rubbed his chin as a playful smile tugged at the edge of his lips.

Rei’s eyes narrowed to chips of coal. “If I remember, you jumped up and down and shouted ‘yippee’ for about a minute.”

Miko’s grayish eyes closed and a nervous laugh escaped his lips as he scratched the back of his head. “Oh, really? I forgot that.”

The Senshi of fire punched him on the arm, but there was no malice behind the blow, merely a bit of playfulness.

Hotaru smiled. “I’m glad to see you two getting along so well. Who knows, maybe you two will follow Anakin and I down the aisle!” She waved bye before turning and walking off.

At Hotaru’s words, Rei glared a bit at Miko. “Well, if we want to follow those two lovebirds, someone has to ask the other one to marry him.” She planted her hands on her hips and sidled up close to the Jedi Master. “So, Miko. The question is; what do you have to ask me?”

Miko sighed, turned to Rei and abruptly captured her lips with his. He cupped her face with his hands as they lingered like that for a few minutes, passion igniting a flame between them.

Rei finally shoved him away. “Damn it, Miko! You can’t string me along like this!”

Miko’s eyes flashed with anger. “’String you along’? We’ve really known each other for only two years! I didn’t even know we were going steady.” Rei’s mouth twisted and she shook with rage. Finally, she anticlimactically stomped her right foot, turned on her heel and stomped off. Miko gritted his teeth, but didn’t follow.

Chapter three: And the Winner is…
Later that day
Makoto looked over her twelve of her best students as they went through lightsaber drills. “Feel the Force! Learn when to listen to it, and when to listen to yourself,” she shouted, walking among them.

She eventually dismissed them for independent studies and practice duels. After a few moments, she smiled and spoke to someone approaching from behind. “I was wondering when you’d get here.”

Tenel Ka stood behind her clad in bright-green lizard skin armor, knee-high boots and had leather gauntlets wrapped around her hands and wrists. She unsheathed her sakabato and unclipped her lightsaber, igniting it and sending forth a turquoise blade. “And I wondered when I had the courage to face you.”

Makoto spun around and telekinetically called her double-bladed lightsaber to her hand, igniting it and sending two emerald blades forth. She wore a simple white shirt, black pants, knee-high boots and fingerless, padded gloves. “In each of our encounters, we‘ve tied, neither one gaining a decisive victory.” She chopped the air with the blades, sending the hum of the plasma into a higher range. “Shall we finish it tonight?”

Tenel Ka shifted her stance. “I shall win tonight, and that is a fact.” The two advanced on each other, letting the Force guide their feet. Tenel Ka swung overhead, letting Makoto block that one. They felt each other out for the first five minutes, probing for weaknesses and strengths. Then they went at it…

Makoto’s legs slid out from under her and she swept her right foot at Tenel Ka’s leg, but Tenel Ka hopped over and thrust her lightsaber at Makoto’s upper chest. She blocked it and parried Tenel Ka’s blade up, swiping at her with the lower blade as it extended from the hilt.

The redhead leaned back, avoiding the deadly plasma blade by mere millimeters. Tenel Ka backed up as Makoto kipped up and advanced again, spinning her blade overhead. She blocked an overhead swing and, with a burst of Force-assisted strength, pushed Makoto’s blade back with her lightsaber and sakabato. The brunette Jedi Master broke off, causing Tenel Ka to lose her balance.

Instead of trying to stand up straight, the Senshi of balance leaned forward and rolled through, coming to a stop a meter away. She leapt to her feet, blocked a sweep from Makoto and kicked her in the gut.

“Argh!” Makoto grunted, clutching at her midsection. She chuckled and looked down at the ground. “I didn’t expect that.”

Tenel Ka slid her feet apart for better balance. “I kept up my training.”

Makoto smirked. “Well, let’s go!” The two ran at each other, lightsabers at the ready…

Before they engaged, both lady’s danger sense flared. They dove out of the way seconds before Sailors Uranus and Neptune landed in their midst, Uranus with her golden-bladed lightsaber and space sword at the ready while Neptune’s aquamarine blade and mirror were still clipped to her skirt.

“What the hell are you two doing?” Makoto shouted, anger boiling beneath.

Uranus’ blue eyes turned to her. “You both claim to be the toughest Senshi in both realities. However, we challenge that claim.”

Neptune held out her hands and telekinetically called her weapons to her hands. She ignited her lightsaber and readied her mirror. “We are not only the toughest Senshi, we’re also the most elegant.”

Small crowds gathered at the landing field and at the bottom of the steps to the Great Temple. Luke, Mara and Lyria stood in front, observing the four. “Are you gonna stop them, Daddy?” Lyria asked.

Luke and Mara exchanged a glance. “No, I think I’ll let them settle this.”

Off to the side, Jacen and Kyp watched their wife and girlfriend ready themselves. “This will be a slaughter,” Kyp observed.

Jacen nodded, his brown eyes never leaving his soul mate. “I hope Haruka and Michiru have their life insurance paid up.”

Tenel Ka and Makoto quickly transformed into their Senshi identities-Dathomir and Jupiter respectively. They circled Uranus and Neptune, probing for weaknesses in their techniques and stances.

Finally, Dathomir charged with her lightsaber swinging in one hand and her reverse-blade sword in the other, both engulfed in flame. “Dathomir Heatwave!” she shouted, but Neptune blocked her swing with her blade and leaned back, dodging the flaming blades by mere millimeters. The tips of her aquamarine-colored hair smoldered, however.

Neptune let out a gasp. “My hair! What the hell-” She didn’t have time to finish as Dathomir kicked her in the shin-hard.

Neptune dropped to one knee while Dathomir kept the pressure up on her blade. On the other side, Jupiter’s emerald blades were swinging side to side in a piston-like motion. Uranus blocked with her space sword and lightsaber, parrying each swing away. “Is this all you’ve got?” she quipped.

Jupiter’s brow furrowed in anger. She reached out and telekinetically shoved Uranus. The Senshi of the wind stumbled back a few steps, almost stepping on Neptune. “Switch?” Neptune asked.

Neptune tapped the Force for a burst of strength, forcing her way back to a standing position. And instead of fighting against Dathomir’s swing, she stopped, parrying Dathomir’s blade around and almost out of her hand! She stepped to her right, allowing Uranus to step around.

The Amazonian Senshi swung both blades at Dathomir from her left. The flame-haired Senshi blocked it with her own weapons and tried forcing Uranus back, but she dug her boots in and held on.

Jupiter, meanwhile, had begun disassembling Neptune. Neptune’s lightsaber was quickly knocked from her hand. she held up her mirror and shouted. “Sub-” but before she could finish, Jupiter grabbed her by the shoulders, bent her forward and kneed her right in the gut.

Spittle flew from the aquamarine-haired Senshi’s mouth as her cheeks flushed a deep crimson. Jupiter then tilted her back and headbutted her twice, sending her to the ground like a sack of potatoes.

Uranus’ blue eyes widened as she felt Neptune’s pain. “You are dead!” she shouted. She disengaged her space sword from Dathomir’s lightsaber and kept her lightsaber locked with her sakabato. She swung the blunt end of her sword at Dathomir’s head and it cracked against her skull, sending her head reeling and her long hair whipping around. She stumbled back and tried to hold her lightsaber up, but Uranus simply knocked it aside and palm-struck Dathomir in the face, knocking her to the ground.

Jacen and Kyp tensed up on the sideline, but Luke sent the two men a message through the Force-and everyone else watching. Don’t worry. They’ll be okay. This is necessary for all four of them.

Uranus turned to Jupiter-only to have her jaw cracked by a straight right hook. She staggered back as Jupiter deactivated her double-blade lightsaber, clipped it to her skirt and raised her arms. Blood trickled down Uranus’ cheek as she steadied herself. “Now it’s just us, eh?”

Jupiter nodded, stepped forward and sent a punch right to the blonde’s gut. She blocked it, grabbed onto Jupiter’s forearm and flipped the brunette onto her back.

Jupiter landed on the hard ground, but still had enough wherewithal to kick at Uranus as she advanced. The Senshi of the wind backed up, but not before Jupiter landed a kick to her right forearm, bruising it.

Uranus backed up as Jupiter kipped up and advanced. Lightning danced around her arms as she swung, knocking aside Uranus arms and landing a few blows to the solar plexus. Uranus grunted and swung back, peppering Jupiter with dozens of curving punches to her abdominal regions. They weren’t as powerful as Jupiter’s lightning-laced punches, but she landed three for every one of the brunette’s.

Both traded blows for several minutes before a flash of movement caught Uranus’ left eye and her danger sense flared. She turned her head a bit mere seconds before Sailor Dathomir tackled her to the ground. The flame-haired Senshi rolled through the tackle, got to her wobbly feet and punched the air. “Rancor Roundhouse!” she yelled. A translucent shockwave blasted from her fist, hitting Uranus just as she was getting up and blasting her back to the ground.

Jupiter walked stiffly over to Dathomir. “Are you all right?”

Dathomir shrugged. There was a trail of blood coming from her temple and her nose was disjointed. “It is not I you should be worried about. It is Haruka.”

Uranus rose to her feet and telekinetically recalled her space sword and lightsaber while steadying herself. “It’s…not…over,” she gasped.

Jupiter and Dathomir exchanged a look, but before either could advance, their danger sense went off. They both leapt to the side-just before a large sphere of watery energy rolled through their previous location and exploded. Neither Senshi fully avoided the shockwave and were tossed to the ground.

Sailor Neptune stumbled a bit but held her head up high as she advanced. “ NO ONE MESSES MY HAIR UP!” she yelled. Her blue eyes were wide with rage and her normally serene face had a twisted look on it-as well as a large bruise on her forehead. She clutched her midsection with one hand and had her other outstretched in front of her.

Neptune held her hands together and another sphere formed. “Deep…” she began to say as the sphere gathered energy. “Submerge!” The Senshi of the sea dropped her hands and released the sphere, firing it off at Dathomir.

She raised her arms and shouted, “Hapan Wall of Protection!” The sphere hit the shield and exploded, creating a large flash of light and cloud of smoke. When it faded, Dathomir stood tall. She telekinetically retrieved her rancor-tooth lightsaber and reactivated it, holding it with one hand while sheathing her sakabato.

“And if you two did not interfere, your hair would’ve been fine!” she stated, placing her free hand on her hip and leaning forward a bit. “You have tipped the balance and disrupted our match. For that, I will punish you!”

Sailor Jupiter got to her feet and walked over to Dathomir’s side. “And I’ll punish you too, in the name of the Force!” She also recalled her lightsaber to her hand and ignited it, sending forth two green blades. She held the weapon in front of her in a two-handed grip, left blade pointing up and right blade almost cutting through the grass.

The two advanced on Neptune while she held up her mirror and shouted, “Submarine Reflection!” A translucent barrier formed about two meters in front of her, shimmering in the air.

Jupiter swept the lower right blade up while shouting, “Supreme Thunder!” The upper blade automatically retracted, allowing her to get a full swipe in.

At the same time, Dathomir thrust at the shield while yelling “Rancor Roundhouse!”

Electricity engulfed Jupiter’s blade as it hit the shield, creating a loud screech. Dathomir’s turquoise blade glowed brightly as it hit, puncturing Neptune’s shield and blowing her back. Dathomir walked up to the once elegant Senshi and held the tip of her plasma blade about three centimeters from her throat. “Now you will yield, and that is a fact!” she growled.

Neptune’s head rose a fraction of a centimeter. “I…yield,” she muttered, dropping her mirror to the ground.

On the other side of the now-cratered practice field, Uranus held up her hands. “I know when we’ve been beaten. You win…for now.”

A bright light engulfed Dathomir and Jupiter. When it faded a half-second later, Tenel Ka and Makoto stood there. Both ladies turned to each other. “Nice job, princess,” Makoto said, extending her hand.

Tenel Ka let a slightly rare smile form. “You did excellent as well, Master Kino.” The two shook hands-seconds before they collapsed against each other from exhaustion and injury.

Jacen and Kyp were by their sides in a second. Jacen wrapped Tenel Ka’s right arm around his shoulder. “Honey, are you okay?”

Tenel Ka’s legs steadied themselves as she drew upon the Force and the bond she shared with Jacen. “I am… fine, husband. Please just help me to our bed.”

Jacen’s eyebrow arched. “Honey, you might be a bit injured for-”

Her right arm abruptly wrapped around his neck and she applied a bit of pressure. “I need to sleep, Jacen. That may happen later.”

Her husband chuckled nervously as the two walked off.

Kyp wrapped his arms around Makoto’s waist and pulled her in for a hug. “God, I was worried,” he muttered, nuzzling her neck a bit.

Makoto swooned a bit in his arms. “You were?”

Kyp’s green eyes locked with hers. “By the Force, yes! How could I not be?” He broke the embrace and helped Makoto off the training field. They walked through the parting crowd and up the front steps of the Great Temple.

At the bottom, Mara’s green eyes narrowed. “That’s why you didn’t stop the fight? For those two?” she asked, motioning to Kyp and Makoto as they walked off.

Lyria looked up slightly at her mother. “What did that fight have to do with Uncle Kyp, Mommy?”

Mara’s head tilted slightly down. She abruptly realized how tall Lyria was getting. She’ll be twelve next week. How the time flies…

Lyria felt her mother’s mind wander. “Mommy?” she said again, her eyes wide with concern.

Mara laughed to cover herself. “Oh, I’m all right, honey.” She looked back to the Great Temple. “And I think two others will be all right, too.”
*****
Kyp and Makoto made their way up to their room in the middle levels of the Great Temple. Ten minutes later, he helped her lie down on their bed. “Now you get some rest, Mako.”

Their identical green eyes locked for a moment and Makoto’s left arm rose. Kyp abruptly jerked away, but Makoto’s hand caught his pocket. “What the…” she mumbled when her finger hit a small box. Her nimble digits grabbed it and extracted it from the Jedi’s pocket before he had a chance to react.

“Hey!” he shouted.

Makoto sat up and looked over the box. She could feel turmoil, shame and…hope from Kyp. She choked back tears as she spoke. “Kyp, is this what I think it is?”

Kyp stumbled back and abruptly crashed into the wall. Makoto ignored the pain in her body and ratcheted herself up to her feet. She stiffly walked over and placed one hand on his shoulder while clutching the small box with the other. Both minds reached out and connected. Kyp felt Makoto’s love for him while Makoto felt Kyp’s near-worship of her. She shook her head and stepped back. “Kyp, why didn’t you ask me to marry you before?”

Kyp returned to a standing position. He kept his gaze turned from the brunette as he stammered. “You-you don’t deserve me.” He turned his head a fraction around to her, but kept his eyes on the floor. “You’re too good for me. I killed billions on Carida. I killed my brother. I destroyed-”

Makoto screamed. She grabbed him by the collar, pulled him around and kissed him full on the lips. When they broke off, she pushed him away as tears fell from her eyes. “Damn it, Kyp! The whole galaxy forgave you. The Imperial Remnant officially pardoned you. Zeth forgave you. And I love you.” She thrust the box at him. “We have known each other for twelve years, so I hope you know me better than that.” By now both lovers were crying.

Kyp opened the box and took out the ring. It was a quantum armor band topped by a corusca gem. It sparkled in the small light of the room. He took her hand and steadied himself in mind, body and soul before trusting his voice. “Mako, I love you more than life itself. Will you do me the honor of being my wife for eternity?”

The brunette bit her lip in order to prevent breaking down. She nodded and Kyp slid the ring onto her finger, stopping just before hitting the glove she still wore from lightsaber training. She looked into his emerald eyes and practically melted.

Makoto took her free hand and ran her fingers through his long, jet-black hair. “I love you, Kyp Durron.”

Kyp steadied himself and cupped Makoto’s chin in his hand. “And I love you, Kino Makoto.” He said, seconds before they kissed.

And a few seconds after that, there was no more need for words.

Excellent chapter! Damn, that fight was awesome! Oh, Tahiri...time to stop dwelling on the past and look to the future. You'll find someone, probably someone as good or better than Anakin. And Yahoo Zekk and Mako-chan!

Can't wait for the next update

For the record, Jon, I ship Naruto/Sakura. wink

Oh, and I picked up Outlaw Star the other day. Good series so far. Bit surprised at Gene's behavior in the first episode though, involving the . . . place where eleven-year-old boys shouldn't go. I also think I should be expecting something considering Hilda isn't in the opening credits.

In any case, it's been a good series of updates so far. However, the last few posts have been a bit slow. I need stuff blowing up! I desire ACTION! Either that or I'm just stressed because of college assignments and I'm also exhausted right now and don't want to think. tongue In any case, though, the fights that are there are quite reveting, even though I'm not expecting death or anything.

Also noticed the name 'Artemis' popping up in there. Hmm, I wonder where you got that from? wink

In any case, glad Saturn and Anakin have confessed their feelings for each other. It's nice to see true love come true . . . even when it is cross-franchises. Great to see Kyp finding happiness, too. Everyone loves being in love. Wait a minute . . .

Thanks for all of the PMs and I'll try to reply more often.

Ooh, the Hammertong! I can't believe you remembered!

But of course I remembered! *points down to her new signature!* ^_^ I just wish I could do a cartoon... Hmm. thinking

Aww! blush *bows* (After you said that, I had to go back and find what I said! I'd totally forgotten! *sigh* Now if only I could do that with the old Tenel Ka Fan Thread... There were some greats posts there... *sadly plays taps on a bagpipe*)

As soon as it closed, Tahiri slumped against the door, letting the tears fall from her eyes. She ran her fingers through her long, blond hair and let the sobs wrack her body for the next several hours. Why? Why couldn’t he have been mine?

*sigh* sad Poor thing.

~The Jedi Master cut off the bride-to-be with a wave of her hand. “Yes, I will preside over your wedding.”
~Hotaru’s jaw dropped. How did she do that? I didn’t feel my mind probed!
~Rei’s onyx eyes noted the confused expression on Hotaru’s face. “Anakin caught up to me about ten minutes ago.”

And there goes the aura of mystery! tongue

~“He mentioned something about me being a groomsman. I wonder if I’ll accept…” He looked to the ceiling and rubbed his chin as a playful smile tugged at the edge of his lips.
~Rei’s eyes narrowed to chips of coal. “If I remember, you jumped up and down and shouted ‘yippee’ for about a minute.”

Oh, they're cute! I like this exchange! ^_^

*stares in awe at Tenel Ka-sama and Mako-sama as they duel* hypnotized love

Before they engaged, both lady’s danger sense flared. They dove out of the way seconds before Sailors Uranus and Neptune landed in their midst,

WHOA!!! PARTY FOUL!!! angry

Neptune held out her hands and telekinetically called her weapons to her hands. She ignited her lightsaber and readied her mirror. “We are not only the toughest Senshi, we’re also the most elegant.”

Funny how THAT title is never challenged...

~Luke, Mara and Lyria stood in front, observing the four. “Are you gonna stop them, Daddy?” Lyria asked.
~Luke and Mara exchanged a glance. “No, I think I’ll let them settle this.”

Luke: "Daddy's not stupid, sweetie." wink

Neptune let out a gasp. “My hair! What the hell-”

*snigger* "My hair! He shot my hair!" *cocks gun* "Sonnova..." YAY SPACEBALLS! dancing

she held up her mirror and shouted. “Sub-” but before she could finish, Jupiter grabbed her by the shoulders, bent her forward and kneed her right in the gut.

OOH! *wince* Ouch.

Uranus rose to her feet and telekinetically recalled her space sword and lightsaber while steadying herself. “It’s…not…over,” she gasped.

Stubborn cuss, isn't she? ^_~ (Aw heck, that's one of the reasons I like her!)

The two shook hands-seconds before they collapsed against each other from exhaustion and injury.

The winnahs! ...are going to sleep for a week. Excellent EXCELLENT fight, Striker! Action is so hard to write, and once again you make it look so easy! hugs

~“I am… fine, husband. Please just help me to our bed.”
~Jacen’s eyebrow arched. “Honey, you might be a bit injured for-”
~Her right arm abruptly wrapped around his neck and she applied a bit of pressure. “I need to sleep, Jacen.

>_<# Men. Tighter, Tenel Ka, tighter.

*can't hold it in anymore* laugh Oh Jacen. I still love you! Even though you're such a guy! Of course... *thinks for a bit* I imagine- ignoring the worry he must have been feeling and all- that that battle WAS pretty exciting.

Makoto sat up and looked over the box. She could feel turmoil, shame and…hope from Kyp.

Mako's got the makings of a first-class pickpocket. But I like this line.

Makoto screamed. She grabbed him by the collar, pulled him around...

Oh no. Oh no. Oh no oh no oh no...

...and kissed him full on the lips.

Whew! Oh good! *exhales in relief*

It was a quantum armor band topped by a corusca gem.

I love that ring! It's, like, totally indestructable! ^_^

UP!

Heh...Uranus and Neptune had their butts kicked pretty decisively there! They might have stood a decent chance against Jupiter by herself...but with Tenel Ka in the picture... grin

Way to go Kyp!! You got yourself a wonderful woman there! wink

SSM12-Thanks. Yeah, Tahiri needs to move on... but easier said than done. sad And glad you like... Kyp and Mako-chan, right? wink

r_c-LOL, gotcha. I like Hinata, myself. wink Sorry about the slowness, but this part is a romantic comedy. No real action unless it's of the heart. tongue I love Outlaw Star! One of my favorite animes, there. Artemis is actually a canon character from Sailor Moon. He's a small white cat. And thanks. happy

Taeniaea-Thanks. happy

Jaded_Girl-Oh, my... Who would be the dancers, though? Emberlene and Bastion? You can always join us at the new enel Ka fan club thread if you'd like. Yes, Rei's no longer mysterious. Ah, well. Yes, no one would challenge them on that title. wink And glad you like the fight. No, Daddy isn't stupid. Glad you like the ring, too. grin

baf-Yeah, they did. Pride goeth before the fall. wink And yes, he did. A match made in... well, somewhere. wink

A Poll!

For the three original arcs, would you like the opening theme to be:

A. Moonlight Densetsu, the opening theme for the first four seasons of Sailor Moon and the theme for Three New Sailor Senshi so far.

B. Sailor Stars, the opening for the final season of Sailor Moon.

C. A theme of your choice!

Here we go!

*****
Back at the practice field, night had fallen. The crowds had long since dispersed, however, Haruka and Michiru were still there. Both were in a light healing trance and were lay on the grass, looking up at the stars now that the gas giant had set.

A silhouette soon hovered over them, blocking the view. “Before she died, Setsuna told me that you two always caused her trouble.”

Haruka groaned. “Oh, come on, Sannah!” She propped herself up on her elbows and scowled at the Melodie. “It was just a friendly fight.”

Sannah glared at her with her yellow eyes and her arms crossed, right eyebrow twitching. “And I’m just a little ball of sunshine…” She stepped back, allowing both ladies to get to their feet.

Haruka brushed some dirt from her pants while Michiru fussed with her hair a bit. They nodded at each other and then faced Sannah. “So, anything happening?” Haruka asked.

Sannah shook her head, sending her curly brown hair swishing about. “Not to my knowledge, why?”

The blond Senshi shrugged. “Well, Setsuna usually only showed up to warn us of some impending disaster. So we figured…” She trailed off, motioning to Sannah.

The new Senshi of time growled. “Haruka, I am Sailor Neo-Pluto, okay? I don’t hang out at the time gate all the time waiting for some huge crisis to pop up before I deem it necessary to talk to my friends.” She took a step back. “Besides, it’s not the easiest thing to gain access to, you know? Heck, no one in this timeline except for Serenity, Endymion, Zekk and Jaina can access it.” She turned and motioned to them to follow her back to the Great Temple.

Silence reigned for a few minutes before Michiru spoke, hesitation in her voice. “Sannah, I have a question.”

The Melodie turned her head around and looked back at her. “You’re wondering if I’ve talked to Setsuna or Kam, right?”

Michiru blushed. “If the question was inappropriate-hey! How did you know what I wanted to ask?” she said, planting her hands on her hips and scowling slightly.

Sannah smirked. “I’m the Senshi of time, remember? I also sensed it out through the Force.” She sighed as they walked up the steps and into the Great Temple itself. “I wanted to, at first. Then I decided that it would bring up too many painful memories. And I don’t think either would want us dwelling on the past too long, you know?”

Both older Senshi nodded in agreement. By now they had reached their guest quarters. “We’d better get some sleep,” Michiru said. “Hotaru and Anakin have some big announcements tomorrow.”

Sannah nodded and walked off. “Good night,” she said over her shoulder.

Haruka turned to her best friend. “So, big announcements?”

Michiru let a small smile play across her lips and held her finger up to her chin. “I can’t tell you.” She turned and marched into their room.

Haruka followed hot on her heels. “Oh, just a little hint?” she pouted.

Michiru turned around, her skirt fluttering around. “You’ll find out tomorrow,” she said playfully just before disappearing into her bedroom.

Haruka sighed. Why do I put up with her? she asked herself. She thought about Michiru for a few moments before she smiled. Oh, yeah. That’s why.

Chapter Four: High Gear

The next day, Anakin, Hotaru, Leia and Michiru had everyone involved with the wedding gather in the Grand Audience Chamber at the top of the Great Temple.

Jaina, Zekk, Tenel Ka, Jacen, Tahiri, Raynar, Lusa, Luke Souichi, Mara, Tionne, Haruka, Michiru, Makoto, Minako, Kyp, Rei, Miko, Lyria, Ailyn, Sannah, Serenity, Endymion, Ami, Ryo, Anja, Han, Chewie, Lowie, Raaba, Mirax, Corran, Sarji, Shada, Chiyo-chan, Tomo, Sasaki, Yomi, Osaka and Kagura all gathered.

Most stood on the stage or sat on the first row of stone benches.

Chiyo-chan’s brown eyes looked up to the top of the ceiling and the skylights. “It’s so beautiful!” she said.

Hotaru stepped forward. “Thank you all for coming. We just thought it would be a good idea for everyone to get on the same page.”

Mara picked up on her thoughts and she hopped up onto the stage. “The music’s covered. Minako’s little karaoke machine’s got a large selection of songs.” She looked down at the blond Senshi, “and I’ll admit that she’s got a great voice.”

The Senshi of love flashed her a smile. “Thanks, Mara. I’ll have my vocal cords in top condition!”

Tionne cleared her throat. “Just make sure not to get into an argument during the wedding march, okay?”

Titters of laughter swept the group. Anakin glanced over at a knot of men near the front. “Also, just to end speculation, Jacen will be my best man,” he stated, motioning to his older brother. “That is, if he’ll accept.”

The King of Hapes blushed a bit and walked over to his younger brother. “It would be my honor, Anakin,” he said, patting the young Jedi Master on the back.

Anakin’s blue eyes looked over at the men again, warm instead of their usual iciness. “Zekk, Endymion, Miko, Souichi, Ryo and Dad are to be my groomsmen.”

Souichi chuckled and adjusted his cane. “Well, I get triple duty, eh? I walk my beautiful daughter down the aisle, give her away and then stand by her husband.”

Anakin shook his head. “I’d never take your daughter from you, sir.”

Souichi shook his head. “No, you wouldn’t. You’re too honorable for that.” He waved his cane around. “Besides, time will do that instead.”

Hotaru blinked away a sudden onrush of tears as she saw just how old her father truly was.

Anakin turned his head as he felt her sadness. “Are you all right, firefly?”

She nodded. “I’m fine.” She glanced over at Tahiri in the back. “Tahiri, I have a question to ask you.”

The crowd parted for the Senshi of sand. Tahiri walked up to the main stage. “What is it?”

Hotaru knelt down, slid off the main stage and stood next to Tahiri. She held out her hand as she asked, “Would you be one of my bridesmaids?”

Tahiri’s mouth opened and closed several times. Finally, she spoke. “I’d…love to.”

A prickly sensation crept up Hotaru’s spine, but she ignored it. She smiled and hugged the blond. “Thank you!”

Tahiri’s right arm patted the onyx-haired Senshi on the back a few times before she disengaged from the hug. “No problem. None at all…”

Hotaru walked around to the side and walked back up the stage. “My maid of honor will be Haruka and my other bridesmaids are Serenity, Ami, Tenel Ka and Jaina.” She glanced at the two wedding planners. “And you two as well.”

Leia smiled. “I‘m honored, Hotaru. And welcome to the family.” She held up a datapad. “Now, then. There’s some other stuff we need to go through. Makoto and Kyp have agreed to do the catering,” she said, motioning to the pair. “How’s it going?”

Everyone turned to the couple. Both had barely-concealed smiles and every Force-sensitive person in the room could sense they had a secret. Finally, Makoto held up her hand. “Umm, we have an announce-”

Serenity interrupted her. “You’re engaged!” she shouted, running over to her old friend and gave her a big hug.

Ami, Rei and Minako also gathered around their friend and bombarded her with questions.

“Did you ask him or did he ask you?”

“When’s the date?”

“By the Force, that ring is incredible!”

Luke, Han, Chewie and Endymion surrounded Kyp. “You old rascal!” Han said, pulling him in and ruffling his hair.

The Wookiee let out a victory roar and gave Kyp a hug, lifting the Jedi Master off his feet and almost crushing him. When he was finally let back down to the stone floor, Luke and Endymion simply shook his hand and patted him on the back.

Luke’s blue eyes looked over his former student. “I’m glad for you, Kyp. The ghosts of your past have finally been put to rest.”

Michiru cleared her throat. “Well, we can plan that wedding next. Meanwhile…” She drummed her long fingers on her own datapad before looking up. “We also know who to officiate the ceremony. It’s-”

Luke interrupted her. “Thank you, Michiru. It will be a pleasure and an honor to join my nephew and his-”

Endymion placed a hand on Luke’s shoulder. “Ah, I think she means me,” he said, chuckling lightly.

Luke turned around, his right eyebrow cocked in mild amusement. “Why you, Endymion? After all, I trained both in the ways of the Jedi and I’m Anakin’s uncle.”

Serenity broke from the group of Inners and moved over to where Mara was. The former Emperor’s Hand met her halfway. “Do we stop them?” Serenity asked.

Mara smirked. “Nah. Let’s see how they fare.”

Serenity’s blue eyes took on a mischievous glint as she said. “Well, okay.” She leaned over and whispered. “Ten credits on Endymion.”

Mara crossed her arms. “You’re on!”

Luke and Endymion approached each other. “Why do you feel you should officiate the wedding?” Luke asked.

Endymion shrugged. “I’m the ceremonial king of the Terran Republic. Why shouldn’t I?”

Luke scoffed. “You’re ‘ceremonial‘. I’m a Jedi Master and head of the Order.”

Rei opened her mouth, but Endymion spoke before she could say anything. “So, what? I’m still a king,” he growled out.

Luke walked up to Endymion, an uncharacteristic swagger in his gait. “Yeah, but-”

Rei shouted suddenly. “Hey, you two!” She stomped over to them and slid her arms between them, stepping in and separating the two men. “Anakin asked me to officiate the ceremony.” The Senshi of fire twitched her head from side to side, managing to glare at both of them.

Luke and Endymion both developed a fine sheen of sweat on their foreheads. “Oh, sorry about that, Rei,” Endymion said, bowing.

Luke chuckled and ran a finger over his bangs, getting them out of his hair. “Oh, didn’t know.”

Hotaru cleared her throat. “Well, if that’s settled, I’ve got a question for our youngest here.”

Lyria and Ailyn both perked up at that. “I was wondering why I was here,” the daughter of Boba Fett said.

Leia looked down at her niece and her best friend. “Would you two like to be flower girls?”

Ailyn’s red eyes narrowed. “What would that entail?”

Leia shrugged. “Basically, you’d dress up and scatter flower petals on the aisle.”

Lyria clapped. “Oh, I’d love to do that, Aunt Leia!”

Ailyn sighed and rolled her eyes, but she felt everyone waiting on her answer, and they all hoped it was yes. She crossed her arms and took on a defiant stance. “I don’t want to look too ‘girly’, okay?” The Senshi of peace nodded, and Ailyn smiled.

Hotaru looked about. “Okay, we’ve got everything else ready. Leia knows a dressmaker on Coruscant and Artoo is going to do the photography.” She sighed and looked to the ground. “I just want to…thank everyone for helping out.” She suddenly felt Anakin take her hand in his.

Their love flowed between one another and time stopped for the two, if only for a moment.

Michiru clapped her hands together, spoiling the moment. “Okay, let’s all get to work, people!”

There was a chorus of mock-groans from everyone, but they all scattered. Tahiri’s green eyes looked about. Yes, it is time to get to work.

Makoto picked up on the younger Jedi’s surface thoughts. A bad feeling crept up on her and she decided to keep an eye on the Senshi of sand.
*****
Coruscant
Mara flew along Coruscant’s spires to a large shop near the top of the city planet’s superstructure to pick up Hotaru’s wedding dress. It was owned by a Twi’lek female named Jari’kyn , who made Mara’s wedding dress almost 20 years ago. The Jedi Master parked her speeder in a garage and made her way down the busy sidewalks to an understated shop with various dresses in the window.

A human servant ushered her in. “Madam Jari’kyn is expecting you,” he said in a clipped accent.

Mara nodded absentmindedly, but she smiled when she saw a familiar face. “Well, you did pretty well for yourself!” she said as the Twi’lek emerged from the back.

Jari’kyn shook her head, her lekku twitching slightly. “I can say the same thing for you, Mara.” She walked up and hugged Mara. “And I can thank you for that big break.“ The two separated and Jari’kyn walked back to a counter in the center of the shop, Mara following. “I got your request a few weeks ago and have some lovely ideas.” She picked up a data pad on the countertop and pressed a few buttons on it. “Yeah, yeah. Take a look at these and tell me what you like.”

She handed the pad to Mara, who looked it over with appraising eyes. “These are some pretty good ideas.”

Jari’kyn nodded. “I’ll be able to do even better work once I see the ladies in person.” She thought for a moment. “Will your ship have enough room to hold all my equipment?”

Mara smirked. “The Saber’s got room to spare.” She paused. “Are you sure you want to go all the way to Yavin IV? We could’ve easily had everyone come here for the dressmaking.”

Jari’kyn waved her off. “Oh, it’s all right. I’ve always wanted to see Yavin anyway.”

A large grin crossed Mara’s face. “I’ll make sure you get a nice bonus for this, my friend.”

The still-young looking Twi’lek waved her off. “Oh, don’t do that! Heck, doing your dress launched me into the stratosphere. I’d be willing to work for free, but your sister-in-law told me flat out to accept payment.”

Mara shook her head. “There’s no way we wouldn’t pay you.”

Jari’kyn shrugged. “Well, thanks. So, ready to go?”

Mara motioned to the door. “Everything‘s loaded up.” The blue-skinned Twi’lek nodded and followed Mara out the door. “Hold all my calls for about two weeks, Hedrick,” she said over her shoulder to her human aide.

He nodded and bowed slightly. “Of course, madam.”
*****
Yavin IV, Jedi Temple Kitchen
Makoto eyes perused the list of menu selections Kyp had made. “Everything looks in order,” she murmured, leaning against a table in the main kitchen. She looked up at a group of seven volunteers standing near the stoves and stasis lockers.

Kyp was among them. “Thanks, honey,” he said.

Makoto’s green eyes swam out of focus for a moment at the sight of him. When they returned to normal, she slammed the pad down on the counter, pulled a headband out of a drawer and tied it around her forehead. She then leapt onto the counter. “All right, people! We’ve got a huge buffet to prepare. It won’t be easy, but nothing worth doing is!”

She jumped back down, skirt fluttering a bit as she landed. She pointed to two volunteers. “Sterilize that table and get every piece of equipment catalogued.” While they scurried off, she turned to another, patted her on the shoulder and spoke. “Alema, I need you and your sister to go down to the storage lockers and start getting the tables and chairs out to the landing field.” The teen Twi’lek nodded and scurried off.

Behind the brunette, Kyp chuckled. “An outdoor buffet? Isn’t that what Tenel Ka and Jacen did?”

She rolled her eyes. “Well, there’s little choice in the matter, honey. There‘s no room other than the Grand Audience Chamber big enough for this, and that‘s being used for the ceremony.”

The Jedi Master nodded and checked his wrist chronometer. “Mara should be back from Coruscant later this afternoon.”

Makoto gasped. “Was it really a week?”

Kyp nodded, a smile tugging at the corners of his lips. “Well, they say when you spend time with a pretty girl, an hour seems like a minute. And I’ve spent most of the past week with you…” He trailed off as he felt Makoto’s love for him shining brightly through the Force. He almost melted, but held himself in check. “So, the menu looks okay?

Makoto nodded. “It’s great, Kyp.” She looked around, but noted how crowded the kitchen was.

Kyp sensed her distress and took her hand, leading her out into the hallway.

“Tahiri’s been acting up,” Makoto said. “She’s been hanging around Anakin lately, talking about old times and how great they were.”

Kyp shrugged. “Mako, I don’t mean to downplay this, but they are old friends after all.”

The brunette rolled her eyes and shook her head. “It’s more than that. I can feel it.”

Kyp’s green eyes locked with Makoto’s identical eyes. “You think Tahiri still loves Anakin,” he stated, mouth twisting.

Makoto shook her head. “I don’t think; I know.” She shifted her feet about. “The question is, what do I do with that knowledge?”

Kyp’s right eyebrow arched and a rakish grin crossed his face. “You mean, what do we do with that knowledge.”

Makoto thought about that for a moment. ‘You’re right.” She looked back at the kitchen. “We’d better get the place organized before we go see Tahiri.” She reached out with the Force and pinpointed the Senshi of sand. “She’s with Anakin again,” she said, a worried expression crossing her face. “I don’t know what she’s got in mind, but she’s not screwing this wedding up.”

Kyp nodded, a grim expression on his face. The two then walked back to the kitchen to get it kicked into high gear.
*****
Main Landing Field
Minako, Mara and Tionne checked on speakers and other equipment they had hauled out of storage. Minako tapped a microphone set up and spoke into it. “Testing, testing.”

Mara looked over at her. “It’s not plugged in,” she said.

The blond stuck out her tongue at the Jedi Master before turning back to the mike. She let her mind clear-no easy task- and let the words flow from her mouth.

tobira wo akete soko wa eien (I open the door, and there lies eternity.)

tooku no yobigoe dare no koe? (Whose voice is it, that voice calling me from afar?)

kami wo nazeru no anata wa dare? (Who are you, who strokes my hair?)

Both Tionne and Mara stopped as they listened to Minako’s siren song. Miyu Eternal was a hit for her back in 2007. The ballad was a departure from her usually high-energy pop, but it sold ten million copies in Japan and over seven million in the United States. Mara even had a copy of it stashed in her dresser-although she‘d never admit it.

After about five minutes, Minako finished the song. She looked about, saw about thirty people looking at her and curtsied. “Thank you, thank you!” she said while everyone clapped.

A human male in the back let out a wolf whistle, but a glare from Mara sent him scampering off.

Tionne called over to Minako while untangling some wires. “I had forgotten how beautiful your voice was in person,” she said, using a bit of the Force to aid with some particularly bad knots.

Minako blushed slightly before walking over to Mara. The two spent some time getting compact speakers into position around the perimeter of the landing field. “Is it okay to leave this stuff out exposed?” Minako asked.

Mara looked up at her with her and nodded. “Oh, it’ll be okay. The rainy season won’t be for another few months. And we’re only using a quarter of the landing field, so ships can still land.”

Tionne finished untangling the wires. “I’m all done here!” she shouted.

Minako and Mara walked back to her. “Are we all set?” Minako asked, looking everything over. “You’re a lot better than the roadies for my last tour, that’s for sure!”

The Elven Jedi nodded as she plugged the mike in. “It’s all yours,” she said, motioning to the pole.

Minako stepped up to it, cleared her throat and began singing once more. This time, the entire academy ground to a halt as everyone stopped to listen to her voice. When she finished, she stepped back from the mike even as applause washed over her. She turned her head to Mara and Tionne. “I haven’t done that in two years,” she said, a bit of nostalgia washing over her and causing a lump to form in her throat. She quickly shook it off. “Come on, we’ve still got to get our song lists together.”

The three friends walked off to Minako’s shuttle, whistling a jaunty tune.

A) MY VOTE!!! The first and the best!
B) Heresy! Ick. I'm so irritated that they didn't stick with Moonlight Densetsu... sad
C) That would be okay too. Second choice!

Who would be the dancers, though? Emberlene and Bastion?

Oh, no. Just some semi-professional backup dancers. (Maybe hordes of enemies... that would be pretty funny. I pictured the Charon there for a minute.) And Sailor EV bustin' moves all the way!

Jaina, Zekk, Tenel Ka, Jacen, Tahiri, Raynar, Lusa, Luke Souichi, Mara, Tionne, Haruka, Michiru, Makoto, Minako, Kyp, Rei, Miko, Lyria, Ailyn, Sannah, Serenity, Endymion, Ami, Ryo, Anja, Han, Chewie, Lowie, Raaba, Mirax, Corran, Sarji, Shada, Chiyo-chan, Tomo, Sasaki, Yomi, Osaka and Kagura all gathered.

o_O Wow. Quite a list...

A prickly sensation crept up Hotaru’s spine, but she ignored it.

Uh oh... Bad vibe!

Serenity interrupted her. “You’re engaged!” she shouted, running over to her old friend and gave her a big hug.

Awww! She's so kawaii!

Is this a "who gets the most humiliated" contest? Either way, they're so eeeeevil. devil

Leia knows a dressmaker on Coruscant and Artoo is going to do the photography.”

Hah! Awesome! I wonder is he clicks when he takes a picture... (But technically, Mara knows her better. not_talking )

Tahiri’s green eyes looked about. Yes, it is time to get to work.
Makoto picked up on the younger Jedi’s surface thoughts. A bad feeling crept up on her and she decided to keep an eye on the Senshi of sand.

No Tahiri! Go Mako-chan! (Mako-chan always knows what to do! ^_^ )

Jari’kyn waved her off. “Oh, it’s all right. I’ve always wanted to see Yavin anyway.”

"I just love oppresive humidity!" tongue

When they returned to normal, she slammed the pad down on the counter, pulled a headband out of a drawer and tied it around her forehead. She then leapt onto the counter. “All right, people! We’ve got a huge buffet to prepare. It won’t be easy, but nothing worth doing is!”

plain I... LOVE... KINO... MAKOTO!!!!! XD

Mara even had a copy of it stashed in her dresser-although she‘d never admit it.

Hee hee! mischief Where'd you get the song, Striker? Or did you make it up?

A human male in the back let out a wolf whistle, but a glare from Mara sent him scampering off.

*snigger* *Jaded_Girl begins humming "Don't Call Me Baby"* tongue

Minako stepped up to it, cleared her throat and began singing once more. This time, the entire academy ground to a halt as everyone stopped to listen to her voice.

*is properly awed* hypnotized

Uppers!

From Naruto, right?

It's catchy. It'd be cute for one of the shorter, more madcap storylines, I suppose. I dunno, though. I really like MD. Anything else always seems lacking! ^_^

Thank you for the link. Rather fond of the Slayers opening theme, myself! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pAYAVEzGybM - sorry, link not working! ^_^' )

Great post as always! Nice interaction between the characters. And, although I do understand how Tahiri feels she needs to move on before this takes her down a dark path.

For the 3 new arcs, I'd go with the Sailor StarS opening theme. I love that song and it makes since to have that be the opening theme for your last 3 arcs...

SSM12-Thanks. And for Tahiri, easier said than done... And good song, there. My favorite Naruto Opening theme.

Jaded_Girl-Hmm, thanks for giving your advice over the OT. The Charon? Eh... maybe. wink Yes, Serenity is kawaii. Yes, it is a 'guess who gets humiliated the most' contest. tongue Yes, Mara knows her better, but Leia still knows her. The song is the ending theme to 'Vampire Princess Miyu', my second favorite anome of all time. devil

Taeniaea-Thanks. happy

baf-Thanks. And don't worry about Tahiri. She'll get better. happy

Okay! Here's the deal with the OTs.

For the Kyp/Makoto wedding, I'll be using Fighting Dreamers. Because, let's face it, Kyp-kun and mako-chan are fighting dreamers! peace

I'll let you know about the others next week. Thanks to all who responded. happy hugs

Here we go!

*****
The day of the wedding rapidly approached and Tahiri’s anxiety grew with each passing day. She talked to Anakin a lot, but the conversation always turned to ‘Hotaru this’ and ‘Hotaru that’ and how happy he was with her. She didn’t want to make Hotaru sad, but she wanted-needed to be with Anakin.

She remembered meeting Tomo Solo and assuming her feelings for the young man would subside in time. She threw herself into missions with Raynar and Lusa, helping the galaxy out. But thoughts of Anakin remained…

Tahiri wandered about the Great Temple, not sure where to go or who to talk to, if anyone. The Twi’lek designer Mara went to Coruscant for was here, getting all of the dresses for the brides and bridesmaids ready. Tahiri wasn’t ready for that, however. If she went, then it would be all over.

A voice from behind startled her, causing her to almost jump and hit the ceiling! “Hey, Tahiri!” She looked back as Kino Makoto ran over. Tahiri’s paced quickened, but the athletic Makoto caught up. She passed Tahiri and turned, holding out a muscular arm and blocking her from continuing. “We need to talk.”

Tahiri put her hand up to Makoto’s arm and tried to push it out of her way, but the arm was as unmovable as quantum armor. “What are you trying to pull, Tahiri?” Makoto asked, a note of command in her voice.

Tahiri stood up straight and looked up into Makoto’s piercing green eyes. “I don-”

Makoto waved her off. “I know you’ve been trying to disrupt Anakin and Hotaru’s wedding.”

The younger Senshi gasped, mouth forming a perfect O. “how-when-”

Makoto snarled. “Why the hell are you doing this, Tahiri? I thought you made your peace with those two a long time ago.”

The Senshi of the sand smiled weakly and looked to the floor. “So did I.”

Makoto shook her head and crossed her arms. “Well, perhaps you’d better talk this over with someone else.”

Tahiri felt someone behind her-someone very familiar. She slowly turned and came face to face with a very angry Tomoe Hotaru. The Senshi of death narrowed her violet eyes until they were merely chips of quartz. “We need to talk,” she growled out, mouth twisting.

Tahiri screwed up her courage. “You’re right. We do need to talk.”

Hotaru paced a bit before marching right up to Tahiri, noses centimeters apart. “Are you still in love with Anakin?”

Tahiri shifted a bit, but she nodded furiously, bouncing her blond hair up and down. “I do, Hotaru. I won’t deny my feelings any longer.” She stood up straight and squared her shoulders. “I love Anakin Solo. What are you going to do about it?”

The raven-haired Senshi shrugged. “There is, in fact, nothing I can do about it. Your feelings are your own, Tahiri. I cannot change them.” Her eyes flashed. “However, what are you going to do about them?”

Tahiri’s green eyes flashed with confusion, allowing Hotaru to continue. “Have you told Anakin about how you feel? After all these years, have you mentioned one word to him about this? No, you haven’t. You gave us your blessing back in Tokyo twelve years ago. You didn’t think his feelings concerning you would change?” She chuckled menacingly. “Well, they did.”

Tahiri suddenly spoke up, her eyes watering a bit. “You think I like feeling like this?” She stepped back from Hotaru, hand clutching to her chest. “I hate myself for the way I feel! I want you two to live happily and have kids, especially Tomo!” A pained expression crossed her face. “But at the same time, I thought to myself. ‘Why couldn’t she be my daughter? Why couldn’t I have that life with Anakin?’”

Hotaru grabbed her by the shoulders and shook her, forcing her to look up and lock eyes with her. “You gave him up, Tahiri. You could've fought for him, but you didn't.”

Tahiri whimpered, tears threatening to pour from her eyes like a waterfall. It took all her willpower to hold the dam and keep the floodwaters back as she spoke. "But Tomo...she was from the future…”

Hotaru snarled, her eyes turning to chips of quartz. "What was one of the first lessons of Master Skywalker? Always in motion is the future!" She jabbed her finger at the blond. "You could've fought, but you didn't!"

Tahiri batted Hotaru’s finger away. “Damn it, Hotaru! There’s a difference between a vague premonition and having a flesh and blood person standing right in front of you!” The tears finally fell as her voice choked with emotion. “Don’t you get it? I lost and you won, and I should be happy for you and wishing you the best because that’s what friends do! It’s what a mature, responsible Jedi Knight and Sailor Senshi should do, but I’m not doing that. I’m being selfish and mean and I don’t want to be that way!” She almost threw herself against the wall and punched it, sobs wracking her body.

Hotaru shook her head and pursed her lips. She walked up and placed a comforting hand on Tahiri’s shuddering shoulder. “What you are, my friend, is human. I know I’d be doing the same thing if you and Anakin were getting married today.”

Tahiri’s head moved to the right a bit. “I doubt it.”

Hotaru waved her off. “I’m going back up to Jari’kyn’s little impromptu tailor shop for the final measurements. You’re still welcome to be one of the bridesmaids, but the choice is yours.” And with that, she turned and left.

Tahiri watched her go, not quite believing that it was fully over. Of course it’s not over. I must still make my decision.

Twenty minutes later

Jari’kyn ran a laser probe over Hotaru, taking in precise measurements of her body. “I’m almost done.” she assured the bride-to-be. “I’ve got a number of ideas on how the dress should look.”

Hotaru nodded absentmindedly, her violet eyes glancing to the door. She actively suppressed her Force-enhanced senses, hoping that Tahiri would surprise her.

The Twi’lek looked up, a frown on her face. “Problem?” she asked, concern in her voice.

Hotaru shook her head and sighed. “No, I was just-”

A bubbly voice from the door shocked her. “Hi, sorry I’m late! Luke stopped me and had a bunch of work for me to finish up!” Tahiri said from the doorway, a slightly sad look on her face, but a lot calmer than before. She seemed…at peace.

Jari’kyn smiled and walked over. “Oh, it’s all right. I just finished up with Hotaru, anyway.” She took Tahiri‘s hand and led her over to an empty spot in the room.

Tahiri and Hotaru’s eyes met. Thank you for forgiving me, Tahiri telepathically said through the Force.

Hotaru nodded. You simply forgave yourself.

Everyone‘s pace quickened as the wedding day approached. Makoto and Kyp got their ingredients together while planning their own wedding. Minako, Mara and Tionne checked the sound system and organized a list of songs to be played and sung. And Leia and Michiru kept tabs on everything and made sure it all ran smoothly.

Anakin and Hotaru, however, sat back and relaxed. The two stood on the top of the Great Temple, looking out across the jungle. Anakin wrapped his arm around Hotaru’s shoulder and had her pulled in tight. “One week, seven days, one hundred sixty-eight hours, ten thousand, eighty-”

Hotaru interrupted him by cupping his chin in her hands and pulling him in for a kiss. Anakin’s hand brushed her long, silky hair as time seemed to slow down…

A grunt from behind broke the mood. They separated and turned, seeing Sannah there with a half-smile on her face. “Sorry about that, but I just wanted sit at the edge and dangle my feet off the edge.” She then walked over, sat on the edge and did just that.

Hotaru and Anakin separated and sat on either side of Sannah. Hotaru opened her mouth, but Sannah turned her yellow eyes to her and interrupted her. “There’s pressure being the guardian of time, but it’s not too bad. I actually like it.”

Hotaru gasped. “How did you know what I was going to ask?”

Sannah chuckled. “Everyone’s asked me that at one point or another. You’re simply the latest.” She smiled and turned back to the view, kicking her feet into the air and smiling. “I will admit, it is kind of fun seeing where everyone’s gonna be in the next thousand years or so.” Her smile turned into a sneaky grin. “And seeing what you two will be up to in the coming centuries can occupy quite a bit of time.”
