It was? Oh. That makes more sense. And yes. Would so love PM updates.
“Threepio, button it or I’ll drop you onto Saturn before we hit Earth!” Mara snarled.
That made me giggle... the mental image of her actually doing it? Priceless.
Han and driving lessons? [Kasumi]Oh my...[/Kasumi]
Luke opened his mouth to respond, but a shout from outside the door spoiled the mood. “Mom, Dad, Auntie Meanie and Artemis are here!”
“It’s Auntie Minako, not Meanie!”
I'm voting for them to stay in bed all day, but getting interrupted like that is funny. "Auntie Meanie"?
“It’s a good thing we’re immortal. We can eventually get back to this… eventually.”
Word, Mara, word.
Well done and good post.
Edit: Striker, fix that link. It looks a bit broken.

RE: Three New Sailor Senshi. SM/SW. New post on 6/1/2008
~“Mara,” Luke said and a blue-green planet quickly appeared, “Saturn’s a gas giant, actually. Sixth planet in the system."
~“Oh… well, it’s got a rocky core right? We’ll drop him off in orbit and he’d be bound to eventually crash down, right?”
Poor Threepio. Well, I can't guarantee that my reactions to him would be any different, but I can still pity him. A bit, at least.
~He reached back with the Force, checking on their daughter. “Lyria’s fine. Although…” He sighed and unbuckled his crash webbing.
~“Check under the gaming table and couch for Artoo’s parts,” Mara called out as he left. “That’s where she hid them last time.”
AWESOME! I love the Skywalkers!
~“Anymore snarls?”
~Urawa Ryo’s eyes half-closed. “No,” he said after half a minute. “Traffic’s clear all the way to the front gate.”
Cheater, cheater!
*grumble* Wish I was psychic...
Ami laughed. “We’re fine, Han,” she said, letting out a sigh of relief. Han’s the one I was gonna meet? she sent to Ryo through the Force. Nothing wrong with him!
*sense of impending doom...*
Han’s gaze drifted to Ami’s car. His mouth opened slightly and he stepped around for a better look. “This is… a car!” he exclaimed. “Kyp told me about them, but I’ve never seen one up close.”
*doom knocks on the door and peers through the window, and knows you're home...*
“Next time, warn me about shavit like that!” she hissed through clenched teeth. “Driving lessons to Han? My car’s gonna be destroyed!”
*giggle* Language, Ami!
Though, Han really is a great pilot, so I think we're being a bit unfair... the car won't be COMPLETELY destroyed...
“He even agreed to fund their wedding, if Kyp and Makoto acquiesced. Why he would do such a thing is puzzling, but I believe Minako knows him.”
It's 'cause Batman is UBER
!!! *Jaded_Girl heaves a deep fangirl sigh*
Chapter Two: Morning Has Broken. Will Sanity Be Far Behind?
*dies laughing* Your best title yet, Striker! ^_^
Luke opened his mouth to respond, but a shout from outside the door spoiled the mood. “Mom, Dad, Auntie Meanie and Artemis are here!”
Two laughs, one for the interruption and another for poor Minako-chan never getting a break!
Lyria’s head turned as she watched Minako ‘help’ her parents out of their apartment. She knelt down and gently picked Artemis up, rubbing his head. “I got some pocket money,” she said. “Want some fresh tuna?”
Awww!
The cat snorted. “Lyria, with the friends and family you’ve got, that’s something you never have to worry about!”
Oy, no kidding! Everybody here's got genes like the Sohma family!
Jacen smiled as he disengaged and slowly thrust at Tenel Ka’s midsection, his thumb unconsciously sliding over the beam controls and setting it to ’training mode’. He noted Tenel Ka had already done that, and he relaxed a bit.
Hee! ^_^; They're so cute! *settles down for some J/TK mush*
She backed up, letting him go on the offensive. “Jacen, your skills are obvious, your blade work precise. Why put yourself down like you do?”
He would have very precise bladework, wouldn't he? Excellent observation, Stiker-kun!
*sniffles at Tenel Ka's monologue* Ooh! Ooh! Are we having a Celebrate-Jacen-Day?! Let me join in too! He's cute and is great at getting everyone to relax when the atmosphere is tense and he's so empathetic! *hugs Jacen*
~“Oh, is that-” Jacen was cut off when Tenel Ka sliced at him, forcing him to bring his blade up to deflect it away. He backpedaled rapidly, swallowing and getting a panicked look on his face. “Sorry, sorry! I’ll stop doing that, Tenel Ka!”
~“Oh, is that a fact, dear husband?”
~Jacen caught the gleam in his wife’s gray eyes and felt beads of sweat form on his forehead. “Oh, I got a bad feeling about this…”
*squeals* Oh, I LOVE IT! They are just too cute! A great way to end the post! Fabulous!
Uppers!

Great update, Stryker! I was surfing around and decided to drop in and catch up. Man, I'm regretting taking this long to catch up because these updates were great. Tenel Ka and Jacen scenes are my favorite. It's so good to read about Jacen being a GOOD GUY
!!!

LOL...can't wait to see Han drive a car! He's going to get it soo bad when Leia finds out how many tickets he gets just for reckless driving.
Man...I feel bad for Jacen at the end there, he's about to get beaten up by his wife.

SSM12-Thanks. I figure he deserved a little ribbing.
Daena-Added.
Glad you like the mental image of that. Who is Kasumi, if I may ask? Glad you like Minako's new nickname.
And link has been fixed, thank you.
Jaded_Girl-Yes, pity him. Pity him even more later in the fic.
Glad you like the Skywalker clan. Better than profic, or worse? I wish I was psychic too. *Peeks through curtains and sees doom* Yes, Batman is uber. Minako will
never
get a break.
Of course they're cute. Remember who's writing this.
We're celebrating the real Jacen, yes.
EarthKnight-Welcome back. Yes, he's a good guy here. I wouldn't have it any other way.
baf-I can't wait to write it.
And yes, feel bad for Jacen, but not much.
Idrelle-LOL, glad you like it. Yes, Han and cars.
Sorry about the brevity of the post. DRL hit me a bit.
Also, go
here
for the fic Awards FAQ. It's coming...
Here we go!
*****
Makoto stood in front of a fireplace in her apartment’s living room and clapped her hands together. She bowed her head two times at the pictures on the brick-red mantle. Once for her parents, and once for her grandfather. The first picture was her parents on their wedding day, dressed in traditional kimonos and looking as happy as humanly possible. The second image showed Lee-san standing in in his mansion‘s gardens, his eyes twinkling and a smirk on his face
“Hello,” she said. “I hope you three are doing well in heaven. I miss you, as always. Kyp and I are doing well, although you probably know that.” She sighed and, as always, blinked a bit.
Kyp imitated her actions, bowing to an old hologram of his parents, and one of his beloved older brother. Both projectors were the only things he had left of his family, salvaged from the Deyer Colony remains. Their emitters were warped and the images flashed, but the internal mechanisms still worked.
“Hello,” he said, the old aches in his heart returning. “As always, I hope you’re doing well in heaven, or the Force.” He shrugged. “Same thing, probably. Well, I miss you. And I love you. Mako and I are great.” Kyp sighed and he looked up. “I’m happy.”
Both turned from the fireplace, walking out of the living room and into the kitchen. “Jacen and Tenel Ka should be by today,” Makoto said, opening up a cupboard and pulling out a loaf of bread. She reached out with her senses and quickly nodded. “They’ll be here soon.”
Kyp opened the refrigerator and pulled out a container of orange juice. “Yeah,” he confirmed, pouring himself a glass. He took a swig and sighed in contentment, examining the remaining liquid. “How did I get by before this?” he pondered, swishing it around.
His fiancé chuckled as she popped two slices of bread into the toaster. A jar of peanut butter and one of jelly floated out of a cabinet and over to the counter where she stood. “Your caseload is clear, right?” she asked, thinking back.
Kyp’s brow furrowed before he nodded. “Yeah. Actually, I’m thinking of quitting the detective business,” he admitted. “Now that everyone knows I’m a Jedi Master and you’re a Sailor Senshi, some of the cases brought to me are pretty
weird
.” He sat down at the table, his glass hitting with a
thud.
Makoto eyed him warily as the toast popped up and she readied it. “And what would you do for the six months we live in Crystal Tokyo, Kyp?” She held her hand up to forestall Kyp from speaking. “And I know you, too. A week with no business and you’d be bouncing off the walls.” She sat down across from him and took her hand. “And half the cases you take nowadays are undercharged, anyway. It’s part of who you are to help people.”
Kyp suppressed a chuckle at her words.
How does she do that?
he thought. “I suppose you’re right,” he finally admitted. He glanced to the door as it swung open. “Hello, Jacen. Hello, Tenel Ka.”
The prince and princess of Hapes walked in, the former looking somewhat haggard while the latter had a grin on her face. “Hey,” Jacen called out, waving. He sniffed the air, but frowned. “Nothing in the oven?” he pouted.
Makoto’s fist thumped the table, rattling dishes still in the cupboards. “Jacen, my domestic side is asleep, leaving the warrior
fully
awake. Do you want to tempt me before I’ve had my coffee?” she growled out, emerald eyes glinting dangerously.
Jacen stopped short and backpedaled, stepping behind Tenel Ka. “Sorry,” he squeaked out.
Kyp snorted as he rose and stepped to the coffee maker. “I’ll save you,” he quipped, pouring Makoto a cup of coffee and adding milk to it. “There we go, Mako,” he said, setting it down in front of her.
Makoto smiled sweetly at him, grabbing his hand and squeezing it briefly. “Thanks.” She looked over as the pair walked up to the table and sat down. “I think we’ve found caterers for the wedding. I just have to go there and see how they are and if the food’s good enough.”
Tenel Ka breathed a sigh of relief. “Good. I was afraid you’d try and cater the wedding yourself, friend Makoto.” She paused, sensing hidden embarrassment from Makoto. “Oh, you were-”
“Moving on,” Kyp said, interrupting. “Although that would solve our dessert problem, I don’t see chocolate parfaits being satisfactory for everyone. We’ll ask and see if they can recommend anyone for the appetizers and entrees.”
Jacen spoke up. “What about an official? And Kyp, have you figured out who you’ll ask to be your best man yet?”
“Rei’s gonna officiate,” Kyp said, sipping his orange juice. “As for best man, I don’t know. We’re doing it Corellian-style, so only a best man and maid of honor. No bridesmaids or bridegrooms.” He paused. “Maybe Han?”
“Dad would be honored,” the younger man said, grinning. “Oh, don’t forget. In Corellian weddings, you both write your own vows. And you kneel before the official.” He paused and looked off to the side. “What else…”
“I’ll ask Han when I ask him to be my best man,” Kyp said. He rose from his chair. “So, you two want a tour of Crystal Tokyo? Tenel Ka, you and Makoto can go shopping!”
“Shopping?” Tenel Ka inquired. “For what?”
The brunette Senshi jumped up and grabbed the redhead by her hands, half-dragging her out. “Oh, yeah! We can get you some nice dresses!”
Tenel Ka’s eyes widened. “D-dresses? I don’t do dresses unless I have to!”
Kyp and Jacen watched as Makoto led Tenel Ka out of the apartment proper. “Well, now that they’ve got their ‘girl time’, we’d best find Han so I can ask him,” Kyp said. “You’re sure he’ll say yes?”
Jacen sighed and waved him off. “Of course he will, Kyp! He’s like your second father… or older brother… or something.” He walked over and patted Kyp on the shoulder. “You’ve never given yourself enough credit, Kyp,” he observed. “And that’s a shame.”
Kyp stood there for a moment before s small smile crossed his mouth. “Thanks,” he finally said. He reached out and his coat levitated over from a coat rack by the door. “Let’s go.”
*****
Downtown Jubaan
“And here we have the most familiar part of the city,” Minako said, waving about. She was using a mild Force suggestion, deflecting people’s attentions away from her and her friends. She walked backwards, motioning to stores and buildings along the way. “It’s been mostly restored to how it was in the mid-90’s.”
Mara, Luke, Artemis and Lyria glanced around, the three humans using similar but more subtle techniques than their guide to avoid being noticed. Mara’s eyes landed on a building across the street. “Crown Game Center? What’s that?”
Minako looked over, a sneaky grin taking over her face. “Oh, you’ll
love
that!” she said. She reached over and grabbed Mara’s hand, pulling her along. “Come on!” She darted out into traffic, her danger sense letting her know when to avoid the multi-ton vehicles bearing down on them.
Mara let out an uncharacteristic shriek as she pushed Minako out of the way of a red tractor trailer, rolling with the momentum. “What the shavit is
wrong
with you?” she cried out, eyes wide.
Luke and Artemis turned and watched, Artemis perched on Luke’s shoulder. “Sorry about that,” the white cat said. “Minako can be a little… impulsive.”
Lyria’s eyes narrowed. “If she hurts Mom, I’ll-”
“Lyria,” Luke warned. “They’ll be all right. See?” He pointed at the two on the other side of the street. “See?”
Lyria sighed in relief, deflating slightly. “Sorry, Dad,” she muttered. She looked to Artemis. “Wanna go get some tuna? At the market?”
Artemis smiled and leapt off of Luke’s shoulder. Lyria held out her arms and caught the cat, one hand snaking along the back for support and the other around the front, supporting him.
Luke’s eyes narrowed. “Don’t wander off too far,” he said. “And don’t try and block me, either.”
Lyria made sure she was fully turned around before rolling her eyes. “Yes, Dad,” she said before jogging off. She got halfway down the block before stopping and looking around. “So, where’s the nearest market?” she asked Artemis.
Artemis wriggled a bit and jumped down landing on the concrete sidewalk. He sniffed the air and looked around. “Oh, I smell fresh tuna,” he said, walking off with Lyria following.

Kidding!
Tenel Ka’s eyes widened. “D-dresses? I don’t do dresses unless I have to!”
Poor TK, afraid of dresses.
I can sympathize with her, poor girl. I don't do dresses either!
I'm loving all this pre-wedding stuff.
Jacen sighed and waved him off. “Of course he will, Kyp! He’s like your second father… or older brother… or something.”
Oh, that sentence ended very well, Jacen.
Artemis wriggled a bit and jumped down landing on the concrete sidewalk. He sniffed the air and looked around. “Oh, I smell fresh tuna,” he said, walking off with Lyria following.
You gotta love cats.

Who is Kasumi? Actually… depends on which anime you mean. The one I was referring to was
Kasumi Tendo
from Ranma ½… she’s been known to say that a lot. (You’ve never seen that one? It's insane.)
Yay for celebrating the real Jacen here. Like him.
“Yeah. Actually, I’m thinking of quitting the detective business,” he admitted. “Now that everyone knows I’m a Jedi Master and you’re a Sailor Senshi, some of the cases brought to me are pretty weird.”
I guess they would be…
“Jacen, my domestic side is asleep, leaving the warrior fully awake. Do you want to tempt me before I’ve had my coffee?”
I’d be hiding behind Tenel Ka, too… And no. One does not mess with a half-asleep Mako-chan before she’s had her coffee.
Minako and Mara together in an arcade… yep. Could so see that.
Well done and good post.

*blinks* Whoa.
That's some new banner... Something going on in the Legacy comic arcs?
Better than profic, or worse?
For the most part, better! (Brief allowance for Zahn and maybe Tyers and maybe one or two others, of course... Not that you're
worse
than they are, just not
better
. ^_^) 'Course, I don't think I've read a whole novel past "Destiny's Way"... Talk about out-of-date, ne? But I don't think it matters much. I mean, look what's going on! No thanks, I'll just reread my often-repetitive-and-incoherent-yet-still-innately-hopeful-and-mythic Bantam arc and for the first time rejoice in Lucas' statement that even "canon" extended universe is not "REALLY" canon.
A sad state of affairs. But hey, that means I can happily resurrect Anakin, Chewie, Mara and Jacen's happy personality! ^_^
Sorry about the brevity of the post. DRL hit me a bit.

glomps Striker* Yayness! The other day I was thinking that, what with the strong (though in her case, not entirely voluntary) Force link with her immediate family and her always being around jedi, Lyria would have developed the tendancy/ability to shield herself in the Force! LOL! Sorry Tenel Ka...I think on this occasion you're going to "have to" wear a dress.
Don't worry though, I'm possitive Jacen will find it quite sexy. Hmm...Mara and games? That would be interesting. And Lyria is protective of her mother I see. How old is she here anyway? I'm guessing around 10.
Well, looking forward to your next update!

Idrelle-LOL, it's cool. You
should
be afraid.
Yeah, Tenel Ka wouldn't like dresses, methinks. Yeah, that sentence was typical Jacen Solo. And yes, cats rock.
Daena-Ah, thanks. Nope, never seen Ranma 1/2. I like real Jacen, too. Probably why I write him. I'd hide too. And glad you like.
Jaded_Girl-I'm out of date, too. So it's cool.
To me, they're all alive and happy, or they died and after a
big
period of mourning, are remembered. Thanks for zapping DRL for me.
I think Kyp would like orange juice, yes. man, it's crowded behind Tenel Ka.
Okay, tell the truth. Were you
reall
thinking about that?
baf-She'll wear it, but she won't like it.
Lyria is about 13 or so here. And yes, Mara will love the games.
Thanks to Sailor Jaded_Girl, this post is longer than last week!
Here we go!
*****
Luke watched his daughter with both his eyes and the Force. He frowned slightly as she disappeared around a corner. He took a step forward, then one back.
She’s thirteen,
he reminded himself.
She’s blossoming into a lovely-does she have a boyfriend?!??
The Jedi’s eyes narrowed slightly.
I bet Valin has his eyes on her! Or maybe that-
His musings were interrupted by a slight jump in his danger sense. He stepped forward, turning his head slightly and peering into an alley to his left. He spied an older-looking man there, his left arm up and holding a knife in it. Luke paused and held his hand up, projecting a thin tendril of the Force into his mind. “You don’t want to rob me.”
The man blinked, straightened and dropped the knife. “I don’t wanna rob you.”
A sigh escaped Luke’s lips. He raised his right arm slightly and held it close to the lightsaber dangling from his belt. The cylinder unclipped itself and slid into his sleeve, hanging there by mild telekinesis. “Why did you want to rob me?” he asked, turning to the man and walking into the alley.
The man swallowed and backed up. “I’m sorry,” he said, choking slightly. “I just got laid off from work and I’m desperate!”
Luke paused in mid-step. He crossed his arms behind his back and leaned in, projecting soothing thoughts. “What was your job?
The man sighed. “I worked at an assembly plant in Osaka, but the factory closed. I haven’t been able to find work for two months and the bills are piling up.” He clenched his fist and looked down. “I was good at my job, but they laid me off and gave me the boot!” He glanced back up and his mouth turned down. “I-I’m sorry!”
Luke waved him off. “No apology necessary, Mister…”
“Tetsuo.”
“Mister Tetsuo,” he finished. Luke thought for a moment. He sensed desperation and sadness in the man, as well as wounded pride, but no real malicious intent. He reached into his back pants pocket and pulling out a stylus and scrap of flimsiplast. “Here’s the holo-comm number of a man who could use someone like you,” he muttered, writing down his own number and holding it out.
Tetsuo reached out and took the scrap with a shaky hand. “B-but, I t-tried to rob you!” he stammered out. “Why?”
Luke shrugged, taking on an air of nonchalance. “It’s nothing, really. I’ve been where you are, Tetsuo.” He reached out and patted him on the shoulder. “I’m sure you’ll do well.”
Tetsuo’s mouth turned up in a grin before he ran out of the alley and into the light. “Thanks!” he called out before turning and disappearing into the crowd.
The Jedi Master slowly walked out, feeling good. He looked to his left as Lyria reentered his view, Artemis trailing behind. “Did you have fun?” he asked.
Artemis held a paw to his face as he let out a burp. “Oh, yeah,” he said, smiling. “Some good tuna, there.”
Lyria looked up to Luke, but frowned. “Did something happen?” she asked, brow furrowing. “I sense something… off.” she looked across the street to the Crown Game center and narrowed her eyes. “Did something happen with Mom? Because-”
“It’s not your mother,” Luke said, interrupting. He chuckled and looked across the street. “Let’s go see how they’re doing.”
Artemis raised his paw and pointed to the corner and a crossing signal. “Sounds good, but any chance we could use the crosswalk?”
Lyria scooped him up and scratched under his chin. She looked over and tucked a lock of strawberry-blond hair behind her ear before walking over and telekinetically pressing the button. “What are you waiting for?” she asked Luke.
*****
Ten minutes earlier
Glass doors slid open at Minako and Mara’s approach to the Crown Game Center, traditional hangout for the area. Five rows of arcade consoles and cabinets cut through the interior, while larger units were lined up against the wall. A counter was built along the front wall, butting up close to the doors. There weren’t many active machines, but people had begun trickling in.
A young man with short, reddish hair and brown eyes walked up. He wore a white shirt, beige pants and an apron. “Welcome to the Crown Game Center,” he said, smiling. “First time in Tokyo?”
Minako’s face split in a grin and she bounced a bit on her heels. “Furuhata Jyo?” she cried out, clasping her hands in front of her. “I haven’t seen you in years!”
Jyo’s eyebrows furrowed. “Do I know you?”
Mara chuckled. “Might wanna drop your Force suggestion,” she recommended.
The blond snapped her fingers. “Right, thanks.” She concentrated for a second and let Jyo see who she
really
was-the Senshi of love, ambassador and Jedi Knight, Aino Minako.
Jyo snapped his fingers. “Yes! It
has
been a while!” He patted Minako on the shoulders. “Last time I saw you, you ducked in for a bit of relaxation after one of your concerts. About…” He rubbed his chin. “Five, six years ago?”
Minako nodded. “Sounds about right.” Her head tilted slightly to the side. “How’s your mother and father?”
The younger man shrugged. “Both are at Lunar Colony One right now. Mom’s head of the archeological dig around the old Moon Kingdom ruins, and Dad’s right beside her. I’ll tell them you said hi.” He looked over at Mara, who was studying a video game console. “Is she all right?”
A smirk crossed Minako’s lips. “Oh, leave her to me,” she stated, waving him off. She turned and walked to, leaning over her shoulder. “Need help?”
Mara turned around at the waist, almost bumping heads with Minako. “Whoa!” she exclaimed, leaning back a bit and taking a few steps back. “What is this thing?” she asked, gesturing to the video game. It was a sit-down model, mostly enclosed and resembling a fighter cockpit. “Some sort of simulator?”
“No,” Minako corrected. “It’s a video game.” She motioned to it. “Sit down and enjoy!”
Mara eyed her rather dubiously as she slid her lithe body into the cabinet, settling down. There was a screen in front, showing a three-dimensional image of a road. There was an old-style steering wheel in front of her chest, foot pedals on the floor and a slot for a credit card or old-fashioned money. A title scrolled across the screen. “Grand Prix 2014?” she read. “A racing game!” she suddenly said, snapping her fingers. “Oh, this’ll be a piece of julaberry torte.”
“If you say so,” Minako retorted, leaving Mara to her game. Her eyes quickly locked onto a familiar-looking cabinet. “A new Sailor V game?” she half-shouted, running over and pulling out a money card.
Mara slipped a coin into the slot and the game started up. She smirked as an actual wheeled vehicle appeared on the screen, surrounded by others. A flashing light caught her attention and she heard a simulated engine start up. The seat vibrated a little and she grinned, baring her teeth not unlike a predator.
She gripped the steering wheel as instructions scrolled by, telling her which were the brake and accelerator pedals. She leaned forward, losing herself somewhat in the game. The signal light flashed from red, then to green and Mara
jammed
her foot onto the accelerator, sending her vehicle racing ahead…
… and into a tree.
“The hell?” Mara said, lips curling. She looked around in confusion as
Game Over
scrolled across the flaming wreckage of her once-proud vehicle. “That wasn’t fair!’ she exclaimed, waving her hands about for emphasis. “I-I wasn’t ready!”
The image changed and her vehicle reappeared at the starting line. Mara gripped the steering wheel tightly, leaving indents in the plastic. “Oh, it is
on
,” she snarled. The light changed from red to green once more and she tapped the accelerator, sending the vehicle forward, but not as fast. She yanked the wheel to the left, avoiding the tree as well. “Hah!”
The doors slid open once more, allowing Luke, Lyria and Artemis entrance. Luke spied his wife as she grunted and groaned inside some odd open-air simulator. “Lyria, you’d better go check on your mother,” he muttered. “Artemis and I will see how Minako’s doing.”
Lyria nodded as Luke knelt, letting Artemis bound up onto his shoulder. He located Minako’s Force signature and homed in on it, finding her in front of a large cabinet with a viewscreen and controls mounted onto a shelf in the front. “Minako, what are you doing?”
The blond Senshi’s tongue was stuck out of the side of her mouth in concentration as she pressed several buttons and pushed and pulled on a lever. “I’m trying to make it past level six of ‘Sailor V 3000’, that’s what!” She suddenly cheered and thrust a clenched fist into the air in triumph. “Hah, one more monster dead!”
Artemis craned his neck over and looked at the images on the screen. “Hey, you’re doing pretty good!” he said, a bit of wonder in his voice. “Nice job, Minako.”
Minako beamed at him. “Thanks.” She glanced over at Lyria as she approached an agitated and energetic Mara. “She’s really gotten into it,” she observed. “I knew she’d love a racing game.”
Luke smiled. “It’s probably close to the simulators we’ve got at the Academy,” he observed. He looked away and saw a platform in front of a big screen. “What’s that?” he asked, motioning to it.
A broad grin crossed Minako’s face as she paused the game. “Oh, ‘Swords and Sorcery’! You’ll love this!” She grabbed his hand and half-dragged him over. “The dashing knight, saving the princess!” she squealed. “Perfect for you!”
“Actually… most of the princesses I know can save themselves,” he said. Luke stepped onto the platform and saw a long wand with a blinking transmitter attached to what was obviously a hilt. “Might wanna get off, Artemis,” he said as the screen changed to show a gray-stoned corridor, complete with flickering torches.
Artemis nodded and jumped, twisting and landing perfectly on Minako’s shoulders. “Nice choice,” he observed. “Luke should have fun.”
Minako smiled warmly. “Thanks.” She reached over and rubbed his head. “So, ready to fight evil with me?” she asked, grinning and striking a pose.
The white cat barked a laugh. “Let’s go!” he said, imitating his old friend as she turned back to her own game.
*****
Lyria walked up to the cabinet that her mother sat in. “Mom, you okay?” she asked, bending forward and looking in.
“Mommy’s fine,” Mara said, twisting her entire body as she turned a wheel inside. “I just have to get past the Daytona 500 level and then it’s off to Monte Carlo!” She suddenly let out a cheer. “Hah! First place
again
!” She began doing a little dance inside the cabinet before crawling out. “Lyria, wanna try?”
The youngest Skywalker peered rather dubiously into the cabinet. “I don’t know, Mom. If Auntie Meanie-”
“Auntie
Minako
,” Mara corrected, getting a stern look on her face. She sighed and shook her head. “Honestly, why don’t you like her, Lyria?” she asked, expression changing to mild concern.
Lyria squirmed under Mara’s gaze. “She’s just too flighty!” she finally blurted out. “Come on, Mom. She’s a Senshi, Jedi Knight and member of the Justice League. Why can’t she be more serious, like you?”
Mara smiled slightly at the compliment, but squashed it with a frown. “I’m not exactly grim, Lyria. And… you should’ve seen me before Luke and I met.” She held up her hand as Lyria rolled her eyes. “I’m serious, young lady. And Minako’s personality can be quite refreshing, too.” She leaned forward a bit. “Truth be told, I sometimes encourage her to act as zany as possible. It’s a real mood-lightener, especially on a mission.”
Lyria’s jaw opened. “Really?”
Mara crossed her arms and nodded, smirking. “Really.”
“Well… all right,” she finally said. “I’ll apologize and… try to get to know her a bit better.”
“Do or-”
“-Do not,” Lyria said, interrupting Mara. “Come on, Mom. Dad said that enough times when I climb Massassi trees back home. It’s older than the
Falcon
!”
Mara bristled slightly at that. “It’s not that old,” she murmured.

Crystal Palace
“I’ll get it!” Han half-shouted as he walked up to his apartment’s front door. He wore a pair of dark-blue pants with his Corellian blood stripes attached to the seams, a white shirt and brown jacket. He opened the door and chuckled at who stood there. “Well, the man of the hour!” he said to Kyp. He stepped back and motioned for the groom and Jacen to step in. “You just caught me as Leia and I were going out.”
Kyp smiled as he stepped in. “It won’t take a minute,” he said. He faced off with the man who saved him from Kessel and was one of the bigger influences in his life. “Han, would you be my best man at my wedding with Mako?”
Han glanced to Jacen, then to Kyp. He swallowed and ran his fingers through his hair a bit. “Me?” he said, pointing to himself. “I-I’m honored, Kyp.” He grinned and patted the younger man on the shoulder. “Of course I will!” He waved his hand in the air. “It’ll be great!”
Jacen playfully elbowed Kyp in the ribs. “Told yah.” He looked to the back of the apartment as Leia walked towards the men. “Hey, Mom.”
Leia smiled and kissed her eldest son on the cheek. “Hey, yourself.” She glanced at Kyp and Han, eyes narrowing slightly. “Okay, I don’t need the Force here. What’s going on?”
Han straightened himself out slightly. “I’m Kyp’s best man,” he announced. His eyes suddenly twinkled. “Wait, that means I plan the bachelor party!”
Leia fixed her Glare of Death upon her husband, planting her hands on her hips and scowling. “Han Solo!” she barked. “Don’t do anything anyone will regret in the morning!”
Han placed his hand on his chest. “Hey, it’s me.” He swallowed and sighed. “Okay, okay. It won’t be like Luke’s, I swear! We’ll just sit around, playing Sabacc and telling stories. Maybe some ale, but that’s it!”
“All right,” Leia said, nodding. She turned to Kyp and smiled warmly. “Congratulations,” she said. “Makoto is a wonderful woman, and you two will be very happy together.” She stood up a bit and kissed Kyp on the cheek. “The Force will be with you.”
“Thanks.” Kyp then checked his wristwatch. “Oh, I’ve gotta go. Mako and I wanna check out some possible caterers.” He shook Han’s hand and hugged Leia before walking out, his step a little lighter than before.
Leia turned to Jacen. “Any plans for today?”
Jacen shook his head. “Not really, no. What about you two?” he asked, gesturing to the pair.
“Brunch with Endymion and Serenity,” Leia replied. She cocked her head to the side. “Care to join us?”
Jacen smiled and half-bowed. “Sounds great.” He suddenly winced and rubbed his head. “Oh, wow.” He looked at his concerned parents. “Sorry, a little backlash through the Force. Makoto took Tenel Ka dress-shopping,” he explained, sighing. “I’m not sure who to ultimately feel sorry for, though. Her, Makoto or the shop owners.”

Loved the part at the beginning with Luke and the guy. Classic Luke! "You don't want to rob me... and now I'm going to help you."
“The hell?” Mara said, lips curling. She looked around in confusion as Game Over scrolled across the flaming wreckage of her once-proud vehicle. “That wasn’t fair!’ she exclaimed, waving her hands about for emphasis. “I-I wasn’t ready!”
Just like Mara...
The youngest Skywalker peered rather dubiously into the cabinet. “I don’t know, Mom. If Auntie Meanie-”
“Auntie Minako,”
Just don't let Minako hear you calling her Meanie.
Oh, definitely the shop owners.
Excellent update! I really can't wait until the wedding.

RE: Three New Sailor Senshi. SM/SW. New post on 6/22/2008
Let's be glad I didn't mean Misty from Pokemon...
(Kasumi is her Japanese name...)
She’s thirteen, he reminded himself.
Luke, getting interrupted by a mugger while thinking jealous thoughts about who his daughter might be dating? Priceless.
Tetsuo? You are a very, very lucky man... and: "Awwwwwww! Loved that! So, so loved that!" (Luke! It's a phone number, not a holo comm!)
Artemis raised his paw and pointed to the corner and a crossing signal. “Sounds good, but any chance we could use the crosswalk?”
*nods sagely* That cat thar is wise. We shall always use a crosswalk...
Jyo’s eyebrows furrowed. “Do I know you?”
Mara chuckled. “Might wanna drop your Force suggestion,” she recommended.
The blond snapped her fingers. “Right, thanks.” She concentrated for a second and let Jyo see who she really was-the Senshi of love, ambassador and Jedi Knight, Aino Minako.
I'm suddenly reminded of Sailor Moon Z here... and Minako isn't an Elf! Wow... (She was always forgetting about her Glamour and... let's just say it led to wackiness...)
She gripped the steering wheel as instructions scrolled by, telling her which were the brake and accelerator pedals. She leaned forward, losing herself somewhat in the game. The signal light flashed from red, then to green and Mara jammed her foot onto the accelerator, sending her vehicle racing ahead…
… and into a tree.
“The hell?” Mara said, lips curling. She looked around in confusion as Game Over scrolled across the flaming wreckage of her once-proud vehicle. “That wasn’t fair!’ she exclaimed, waving her hands about for emphasis. “I-I wasn’t ready!”
Huh... had that problem before I learned to drive... never try to drive backwards on a race track...
Loved the mother/daughter moment with Lyria finding out that Mara approves of Minako's zaniness. Well done.
How's about all three?
Well done and good post.
