I think they're going to like Cem a whole lot. Tesar had some great points, and Luke blew them off like a professional. I'm not feeling the love for Luke these days. Makes me sad to think of him leaving them on Dagobah for over a year.
So Cem came back from Tenupe, but Jaina stayed with Jag like she should have? Interesting. I can't wait to see what crazy charge Luke is sending him on "retreat" for? Probably for helping the "fake" Jaina. 
Yeah, we are padawans together, shouldn't we be blowing things up and giving NYCGurl grey hair . Of course, she's way too young to worry about that, even from mischief makers such as ourselves.
This is going to be very interesting. Keep it coming.

Great update!
Cem is going to be an interesting addition to Tahiri's life... I see Tesar getting frustrated with the two of them very quickly.
 I think that Luke needs to take a 'retreat' on Dagobah too. One were a ghostie Yoda comes and thwacks him with his gimmer stick for the mess he's making of the NJO.

One of the things I didn't like about DN was that Tahiri didn't seem to care anymore about Anakin. 
I like she still cares about him in your fic, Kissa, though it is very sad.

That’s probably because the premise for Replaced was:
1. I hate Jaina in DN; that wasn’t her.
2. Hey, wouldn’t it be cool if Cem fell in love with his brother’s girl!
And that’s the end of my thought process. Everything else developed slowly. 
Replica had to have a bit more behind it. Although it started out with ‘Hey, you can’t just leave Cem alone and heartbroken. Give him a girl!’

Chapter Two
Ben’s eyes widened with excitement at the question. He leaned forward, body singing with tension. “She got repla–“
“That’s enough,” Luke said. “Ben, wait on the Sabre.”
“What happened to Jaina –“ Tahiri asked again, this time alarm zinging through her body.
“It’s not important,” Luke said. He gestured to Cem, moving into the introductions to change the topic. “This is Cem Flare. He’s a new student coming from Bastian.”
In response, Cem bowed sharply at his waist toward Tesar and Tahiri. His movement was sharp and precise, but underneath seemed to be a hint of mockery. Tahiri got the impression that he was simply moving through the steps of formality.
Tesar sissed in delight. “Thiz one thinks Cem Flare is decidedly deadly.”
Cem came up from his bow, baby blue eyes locking onto the Barabel. “You’re too kind, Jedi Knight Tesar Sebatyne.” A small smile tugged at the corner of his mouth. “But I’d like to think that your statement was correct.”
Tesar rocked back in surprise. “You know thiz one’s name?”
“I know the names of every Jedi that took the side of the Killik during the war,” he answered. His blue eyes shifted to Tahiri. “You are Jedi Knight Tahiri Veila, the only Jedi to have been Shaped by the Yuuzhan Vong.” For a second his eyes lingered on the three vertical scars on her forehead. Then, with a visible shake of his head, he walked past them both.
“He can be quite abrasive,” Luke said, watching Tahiri watch Cem investigate the Jedi camp sight. “But he is a good person at heart.”
“What’s he got against Killiks?” Tahiri asked. “And why is he being exiled –“ Catching Luke’s objection to the word she amended. “Why is he being sentenced to Dagobah for a retreat?”
“It’s complicated.”
“I think we can handle the details,” Tahiri said. “And we’ll even settle for a watered down version.”
Luke’s mouth twisted into a wry, but sad smile. “Cem took part of an action that got two of my Jedi killed. What’s more, he sided with someone who ultimately betrayed the Order –“
“But Jaya didn’t –“ Ben began. “Jacen says that she –“
“That’s enough,” Luke said, voice sharp. “I asked you to wait in your cabin.”
“But Dad –“
Luke pointed up the boarding ramp. “Go.”
“You’re still listening to Jacen?” Tahiri asked Ben. “Even after he rubbed your memory?” She shifted her attention to Luke. “Even after he –“
Ben stopped walking at the top of the ramp. “We’ve talked about the whole memory rub thing already,” he said. He sucked on the inside of his lip. “And when she showed up, he changed a lot.”
“When who showed up?” Tahiri demanded. She started forward, but a sharp look from Luke sent Ben into the Sabre with a jaunty wave.
“Who died?” Tesar asked, tongue flickering out of his mouth. “We felt Zekk only.”
“Jaina,” Luke said quietly. “She died too.”
Tahiri felt staggered by the news. She stepped away from the shuttle, senses buzzing with numbness. After Anakin’s death she had slowly lost control of herself to Riina – her Yuuzhan Vong alter-ego. Jaina had been the one who had helped her through that time in her life. She could hardly believe that the brunette Jedi was gone.
She shivered in the murky heat. “I – I – I don’t believe it,” she whispered, voice shaky.
“We burned her body,” Luke said. “Cem brought both bodies back as proof of their death –“
“Twist it, why don’t you,” Cem called out from across the campsite.
Tahiri closed her eyes, not wanting to hear anymore. “He got Jaina killed?”
“Ultimately, yes.”
Simultaneously Tesar and Tahiri both turned to appraise their new fellow exile. “And you expect him to stay here with us?” Tesar asked, voicing what they were both thinking. “After he participated in the death of one of our own?”
“He didn’t kill either of them –“
Cem cleared his throat loudly. “Actually I did –“ he began, brining himself closer.
Luke shook his head. “I don’t believe you. Zekk was a talented Jedi Knight who –“
“Was twisted by the desire to have and love Jaina Solo.” Cem smiled bitterly. “Sorry, correction. He wanted to own and posses her.”
Luke continued as if he hadn’t been interrupted. “-was talented. I do not believe that you could have bested him in a duel of any sort. He was stronger than you.”
“It’s not always the strongest warrior who wins,” Cem answered. Then with a deliberate motion he pushed his sleeve back from his chrono. “Now, don’t you have to be going? This discussion is getting old.”
Mara, who had remained more or less silent since arriving, finally spoke. “Maybe the strongest warrior doesn’t always win, but experience does count. You have trained as a Jedi for just under a year now – Zekk has been training since he was fifteen.”
“I pity him then,” Cem said. “Because he forgot to train his heart and mind to respond rationally. Think of all those wasted years when he could have been learning something useful but didn’t.”
Mara took a step forward, anger flashing through her eyes. “Zekk wasn’t perfect but he–“
Cem waved her comments down. “You can go now. Come back whenever you’re ready to let us leave this mud hole.” He turned his back and headed back to the main campsite, waving carelessly over his shoulder.
Tahiri hesitated, green eyes narrowing at Luke, Mara, and then Cem. There was a story here. Something that she couldn’t quite put her finger on. But it was evident that she wasn’t going to get any answers from the Jedi Masters.
“He’s right,” she said, gaining a slightly surprised look from Cem. “You can go now. But if you decide to let us leave, send a message. We have a ship here and will take it should the time ever come.”
“Very well then,” Luke said, sadness tinting his voice. Tahiri got the impression that the conversation and drop-off hadn’t gone anything like he had hoped it would. Rather than watch him leave, she turned and headed back toward her hut.
After she had traveled a few feet, Tesar’s voice halted her.
“Why iz it that you would place a Jedi with so little experience here?” he asked. “Do you not worry about the dark side presence on this world?”
She stretched out, listening carefully for Luke’s response. Tesar had raised a valid point. The Tree Cave was a great spring of darkness and she suspected that without training, resisting its pull would be extremely difficult. Not to mention how difficult it would be to train the new student without the presence of a Jedi master on the planet.
After what felt like eternity, she heard the boarding ramp close and the repulsor drives on the Jade Sabre hum to life. For a second they deafened the swamp. Then the ship rose into the air and headed for the hidden darkness of space.
“Hmph!” Tesar grunted, whacking his tail against the ground. “Thiz one is disappointed that Master Skywalker didn’t answer.”
Tahiri shook her head in disappointment. “Come on Tesar, we have a new guest to interrogate.”

I hate to admit it but Cem was right when he said:

 I can’t believe that Jaina is dead, now that is just sad, so very sad. And now I feel sorry for Han and Leia, I mean, first Anakin and then Jaina, and who do they have left...Jacen .
Anyway, I can’t wait to see how this will go and thanks for the pm, this update was incredible.

Wait, does Luke still think that that Yuzzhan Vong gal was jaina? I forgot what an idiot he is! . *continues muttering about the stupidity of Luke in general* I love Cem as always and I have decided that Barebels are one of my favorite species! Question though: Can you explain this whole thing about tahiri's alter Vong ego? It is a bit confusing to me!
