I've thought of Ben as a pyro for years ... glad you like my take on him. I've put a lot of Mara into him, along with a dash of Anakin the Elder. Darkwriter posted: Ooh, Zoe and Ben get cool powers. Zoe's gift is fascinating, really cool, but honestly I'd rather have Ben's gift...maybe becuase most of my friends are distined to be future arsenists. Great chapter! Janet Yeah, their powers are cool ... Zoe's Battle Meditation is especially potent. I know quite a few pyros, myself. And yeah, I'll be putting some of their antics into this via Ben. 	Disclaimer: See first post. From the Ashes Chapter Eight: Clash in the dark. Slipping out of an air vent into a darkened office, Leia smiled at how effective a supposedly cliché method of covert entry was. Quickly surveying her surroundings, she ascertained she was in Kre'Fey's office. Perfect, she thought, Everything we're after's in here somewhere. Sliding over to his desk, she examined it for loose items, and then for security systems as Blaez slipped out of the duct and crept over to the filing cabinet. Noticing a trip wire on the central drawer, she deftly unhooked it with a fingernail, silently thanking her husband for teaching her all he knew about slicing and covert entry. Spying a trio of unlabeled datacards inside, she tucked them inside a concealed pouch in her sleek, black jumpsuit. She doubted that they were their primary objective - a complete Covenant Order of Battle- but she also knew that they would be valuable in their own right. "I think I found the files we're looking for, Master." Blaez whispered, holding up a fist-full of datacards. "Along with a few juicy extras." "Good." Breathing a sigh of relief as she pulled out a miniaturized reader. "Let's make sure they're the real thing before we get outta here." Sliding the card her apprentice handed her into the reader, she quickly ascertained that it was indeed the genuine OOB. "It's go. Now let's call it a night." Just as she'd pocketed the card and the reader, a pair of Bothan Security guards burst into the office, DL-86 blaster pistols at the ready. "Hands up. Don't move, lady." YThe one on the left shouted as his partner moved in with two pair of binders. "Put your hands on your head, schutta. What the kriff were you doing in here at this hour?" The sentry on the right barked, spittle flying from his mouth. Nodding to her padawan, Leia whipped out her pink lightsaber, wishing her blade wasn't so distinctive. Stabbing the guard in the chest, she noticed an entire platoon of security officers taking up positions around the office. Knowing that her objective would be compromised unless she acted fast, she instructed Blaez to ready their two proton grenades. As the enforcers opened up, Leia directed their fire back at them, drawing from the Djem So training she'd received from her brother. Batting away one red dart after another with her pink blade, she absently noticed her padawan placing one charge on the ceiling, while throwing the other into the midst of what was left of the guards. <Sixty seconds> Blaez' voice announced in her head. Shifting her lightsaber into a one-handed grip, she whipped a hold-out blaster from a sleeve holster. Pointing it in the general direction of the large picture window, she pulled the trigger twice, shattering it into a million crystalline shards. She then popped off a few verdant bolts at the guards, creating even more chaos alongside the scarlet blasts she was returning. Taking the opening, Blaez deactivated her saber and jumped out of the window to the streets below. Leia deflected a few more blasts and then followed suit. Landing in a crouch after a two-story jump, she sprang up and dashed towards a pre-arranged rendezvous point, letting the Force sustain her exertions. In a quiescent fountain, she watched a reflection of the Combined Clans building explode in a flash, spewing debris all over the surrounding blocks. Exhausted, she sagged onto the park bench, she looked up at Blaez' approach. "What kept you?" she asked, winded. "Had to create a diversion. Sorry." The Bothan Jedi smirked. "What kind of diversion?" "You'll see ..." a brief pause, "In three two, one now." As the two Jedi watched in shocked silence, the Drev'Starn shield pole was engulfed in flame, obliterating it. Secondary explosions rocked much of the city, devastating utility lines and power plants. "I was not expecting such collateral damage." Blaez managed after a time, "I think we'll have to find another way off Bothawui." A/N: I was originally intending the new Sith Apprentice, Darth Sheol, to be a human male, but the more I think about the character, the more sense it would make for the villain to be a human female. I'd like to ask you, dear readers, if Darth Sheol should be male or female. -----signature----- I Jedi mind-trick pushy salespeople ... 	I think I prefer the next sith apprentice to be a female. Star Wars need more evil women who aren't so overrated... Great update by the way! I love reading kick but women! 	Nice chap. I especially like the action dialog there at the end. In regards to your question, I'd suggest a female for the apprentice...if he/she were a master I'd say a male...but really it's up to you. Nice post! Alright ... "In place of a dark lord, you shall have a queen, not dark but beautiful and terrible as the dawn, treacherous as the sea; stronger than the foundations of the earth." Leia in butt-kicking mode does rock - especially since she took up the role as a Jedi Shadow(a rare form of Jedi Sentinel specializing in covert ops). Blaez would have been ... except that Kyle was already training Doran Tainer. Unless I mess her up royally, Darth Sheol will make Ventress seem like Martha Stewart by comparison. I enjoyed writing Leia kicking serious keister - like she used to before she went into politics. Season of Pain Chapter Nine: Hidden allies, hidden enemies Leia Organa-Solo shivered as she pulled her cloak around her, following her padawan through the rainy alleys of Drev'Starn. Blaez knew of a place where they could rest and possibly link up with any underground movements that had formed. When the young Bothan ducked into a seedy-looking tapcaf, she asked "Is this the place?" "Yes - we're safe here at the White Bantha. The owner is a relative of mine - and the most likely person on this world to lead a resistance." Blaez led the older Jedi to a room in the back of the place that seemed like a cross between a storeroom and an office. A Bothan woman sat hunched over a dingy metal desk, her black fur shot through with gray. "Greetings, cousin." "Blaez?!" The proprietor's head shot up, her violet eyes shining with a joy that seemed eerily familiar to Leia, especially combined with the conspicuous flash of white on her neck. "What brings you back home?" "Jedi Business." The younger Bothan replied. "My master and I became trapped here during our mission." "Ahh, so you and Master Organa-Solo are responsible for tonight's fireworks show. I'm duly impressed." "Yes - you have me at a bit of a disadvantage ..." Leia added, unable to shake the feeling she was looking at someone familiar. "Asyr Sei'lar." The middle-aged Bothan smiled enigmatically, "Reports of my demise are greatly exaggerated." "You faked your own death. Why?" "To keep Fey'Lya's slimy paws off of me ... I can't believe they made him a martyr - if you asked me, the Yuuzhan Vong did the galaxy a favor by killing him." Laughing, the Jedi Master agreed. "If only more Bothans thought as you did." "They do ... only they are too afraid to admit it." Asyr shhok her head sadly "We need something to galvanize them into action." "Or someone" Blaez added. "If you emerged from the shadows, the people would follow you to whatever end." "To whatever end ..." Asyr echoed hollowly, "But they believe I perished over Corvis Minor, and am entombed in the golden square alongside the rest of the Martyrs. How would we prove to them otherwise?" "I have a plan, but it would take some time to implement ..." Leia added, trailing off. Darth Sheol watched the fires of Mustafar, mesmerized by the patterns of flame, lava and darkness, hoping the galaxy would soon echo that pattern in the forge of war. And when it had been thus tempered in blood, she and her master would rule it. Darth Elasmius approached her, coal-black eyes flashing with anticipation "Has the war begun?" "It has, master." Her own icy blue eyes did not betray her own excitement - her features were as cold and unyielding as the glaciers of Hoth. "And the Covenant navy has accepted me as one of it's commanders - under the identity of Glace Frigis of Kuat. They do not know of my true nature." "An apt pseudonym, apprentice. It is false, yet allows hints of your true self. It will be instrumental in converting them to the Dark Side." "Why the subterfuge, master? Why not simply lead an army of darkness against them, like Revan or Exar Kun of old?" "Because that would alarm the Jedi and rally them into action. The path of Nihilus, Kreia, and Sidious is wiser - not to reveal ourselves until the Jedi are beaten. And this time, we will make sure they are all dead." "Yes, master." Sheol replied, raising her hood over her blond hair and pale features. "Still, I wish to bathe in their blood." "You will.
