I'm finally catching up with some things this week. Sorry it's taken me so long to get to these replies blush

"Fine. Let's start developing drugs that actually work against Yuuzhan Vong, then." Gladus snorted. "It's not like we're short of time, not at all..."

lol

"Ronan? He used to be quite a talkative and nice guy, but ever since the Battle of Dubrillion he's gotten a bit moody and talks only when he deems it necessary." Barec had now returned to the table, talking with Sareth, and every now and then, they glanced over at him and Ara.
"It probably doesn't concern me, but is it because of Gladus?"
"Tite? No, he has nothing to do with it—although there is another feud between the two, one that indeed doesn't concern you." Her tone made clear that no further questions be asked about that.

Interesting thinking Is this something from a previous story or something yet to be revealed? Let me know if it's something that already happened and not going to be explained in this one.

This released a bit of Ara's tension as she laughed again. "You bet. The voice is man's most powerful weapon, after all, but many are so unwise to forget the recoil that any weapon causes."

Great line!

At least I'm no longer the only non-Mando, here, Macos thought as the door shut behind the Feeorin.

Heh. Misery loves company, they say tongue

"They took the bait."
"Very well," Tzekon Lian replied to the report and cut off the villip connection. "Now we will crush them, both on Contruum and Gyndine."
With a satisfied smile he left the villip chamber.

Well, I guess that means Rios is not who he says he is...

Good post grin I really like this twist. Makes sense that the Vong would want to find out how they spotted the masquered warrior. Very clever.

Hopefully I'll have more replies later.

Ahh. Yes, the first bit about Dubrillion was basically the mediocre prequel, Honor Guard. You don't really have to read it unless you want to, but it'll probably look bad in quality, compared to WFSAM. whistling

As for the second bit, the feud. I've hinted at it here and there, but given no details yet. Maybe I'll find a spot to explore that in a future chapter, or maybe that is something for another story. You can however find out a little more about the two here and here--their respective profiles.

Aah, now that's something new. You're actually the first to interpret it that way, but it's not necessarily "wrong" or something. But I don't wanna spoil it, I'm sure you'll find out more in the future chapters. whistling

In any regard, glad you enjoyed it. grin And I'll hope you'll enjoy the other chapters as well, but no rush--I'm a little slow on updates myself. blush

And speaking of which, I'm afraid it may take some time for the next update. sad A good bit of RL stuff and a bit of a writer's block has really slowed me down. Sorry guys.

Ahh. Yes, the first bit about Dubrillion was basically the mediocre prequel, Honor Guard. You don't really have to read it unless you want to, but it'll probably look bad in quality, compared to WFSAM.

Whenever I look at my really old stories I think, "Err, I really need to rewrite that." tongue

Wow, that's cool. Thank you grin

Aah, now that's something new. You're actually the first to interpret it that way, but it's not necessarily "wrong" or something. But I don't wanna spoil it, I'm sure you'll find out more in the future chapters.

Darn, I'm wrong, aren't I? tongue I was thinking Rios is a Peace Brigader working for the Vong.

"Rumor has it," the GA lieutenant had announced, "there's a bunch of Peace Brigaders hiding right under our noses. We've been searching for their lair for the past few weeks, but they managed to keep a low profile.

See what I mean?! "Rumor has it"! This guy is full of it shock

Ronan suppressed a snigger. Armorer of both Ronan, Gladus, and of course his own armor, Jiriad was now the only one who couldn't disguise his armor under the clothes—the spikes would have pierced the fabric and stood out like abnormal skin mutations. He was going in pretty much unprotected now.

He should just pretend to be one of the Vong slaves with yorik coral implants tongue

"That's not how we do it," Altair said after Rios complied. "There's only one of us going in, and he's going in now." He gestured to his son. "Skira still hasn't gone through the one final trial to become a man and a warrior, and now the time's ripe for his verd'goten. Six Mando'ade is overkill for only a heap of osik'la drunkards, anyway."

Quite a test hypnotized

Now that he contemplated about it again, Ronan thought that maybe it wasn't such a good idea at all. He had a bad feeling about this.

Ditto raised_brow

Macos saw Jiriad raise his head with reignited fire in his eyes, as through the doorway stepped his son.

Yay, he made it grin

With no notable sound whatsoever, an unidentifiable black thing came flashing out of Skira's torso, together with a splash of crimson red blood. Skira never had a chance to get a look at his attacker, or to express any emotion whatsoever. He died instantly. Supported by the black object reaching out of his chest, right where his heart sat, however, the body did not drop.

I had a sneaky suspicion you were going to do that sad Poor kid. And poor Jiriad too.

Everyone else had his weapons trained on the single scarhead, shock and dismay written on their faces, but they didn't fire. The abomination of a Vong was still holding Skira's corpse as though it was a living shield—only that it was dead. Ronan had to shudder at the misplaced and morbid thought.

Wow, that's low sad

Now, as he turned to the alley exit, he saw three figures in distinctive Mandalorian armor step through the gloomy dust, and it struck him why the blaster shot had sounded so familiar—it was the peculiar whine of a BlasTech EL-20 carbine that had been modified with a "disintegrate" setting, and Ronan knew of only one Mandalorian who carried such a weapon: Eclan Graven, a Mandalore-born mercenary he'd occasionally worked with in the past.

Awesome grin Love QM's fic.

Lian gulped, but didn't waver. "They got the bait, but instead of devouring it with a single bite, they vivisected it and only snapped the tasty parts." He paused, wondering if his metaphoric speech was such a good idea. "Only one Brigader and the two Slayers survived, so far, but latter are in jeopardy and face additional reinforcements to the hostile group." He paused, not feeling able to actually phrase this. "One of them is a Jeedai."

Guess I was wrong about Rios tongue

Great post, Corran applause Very emotional and I enjoyed the action, thought I have a feeling the next few chapters will be loaded with it mischief

Hey fellas, a few updates from my side.

I've been pretty AWOL in the recent months, and I'm sorry for that. I've had to take a little break from SW, although I must admit it was a longer timeout than I initially thought it would be. There's so much going on in RL, I just didn't have the time for my SW devotion.

But now my motivation is back, and the inspiration as well--I'm making good progress with WFSAM, hopefully your wait for an update will be over soon. happy

In the meantime, here's so way overdue updates from the art department. grin

"Weary Warrior" by FalconFan

That's right, here's Ara Norvath for you. This amazing artwork of her was drawn by one of the most talented and best SW fan artists out there, FalconFan. I bet you've already seen some of her work--if not, check out her DeviantArt gallery or her TFN Art thread ASAP! I'm still in awe of what she pulled off here for me, I'm so much in her debt. hugs I might be giving it a shot to colorize it, but in my opinion, FF's artworks always look better untouched, and there's nothing wrong about b/w, eh? tongue

Next up are two WIP drawings of Ronan Barec, focusing on his new beskar'gam.

They were made by my great buddy Kuk-Man, who's been working with me on the Ronan armor project for quite some while now, and he's not only the one putting my ideas to paper, but he's also supplied me with a lot of technical feedback and numerous original ideas as well, such as the hunter's veil camo fabric, or other parts of Ronan's armor and equipment. He's a great help, and I'm very thankful for his continued support. peace

We're still working on the details of his color- and markingscheme, but here's a basic concept of what colors adorn Ronan's armor:

Another very cool thing is this:

If you've been following my RotSW art updates and wiki entry updates, I bet you'll notice what this is. Kuk is not only a talented artist, he's one hell of an expert when it comes to customizing and modeling custom figures. What he did here was make a 1/6-scale model of the BlasTech EE-23 MkIV, or to be specific, Ronan's customized marksman carbine. It's mind-blowing what he does with my ideas, he's always coming up with other kick-ass things that so much enrich my humble fanfiction series. dancing

If you haven't checked out his other stuff, yet, like the scratch-built ARC trooper maquettes, or the loads of original Mandos he drew, it's about bloody time you do so: http://kuk-man.deviantart.com/

That said, here's one last artwork for you, drawn on request by Tercado:

It portrays a middle-aged Gladus Tite, during his time as an assassin and mercenary--long before he became a Mandalorian. Tercado pretty much came up with his attire design himself, and it fits him damn well. grin There's also a colored version from me, but I gotta say, it looks way better in the original. tongue

Okay, I know this isn't gonna replace a written update, but it's better than nothing, eh? wink

Keep it up, guys, hope to see you around, and thanks for the continued interest. happy
awesome story! i'm already hooked! funny GoW reference too.
Hey, welcome aboard. happy Thanks for the comment, I'm glad you enjoyed it thus far. As for the GoW ref... in retrospective, I shouldn't have made such a big one. When I came to name the character of Macos Fenix, it was long before the release of GoW, only a few tidbits about the GoW story and characters had been revealed, and Marcus Fenix just sounded so kick-ass. I never expected the game, and thus the character, to become so popular, that's why Macos's same is a bit lame now....
Looking forward to your next addition to this. happy
Yeah, I'm trying. tongue Thanks for the continued interest.
