Hmm. One of the more realistic "Jag takes over the Empire" stories that I've read, although I think Jaina's characterization is a little shaky in the earlier half. Still, I enjoyed it - and I'd appreciate being put on the PM list.

EDIT: *thinks* To be honest, the only major plot hole I could think of was the fact that the Moffs and the former Supreme Commander were all in the spaceport together. That's a major security risk, and it doesn't really make sense, to be honest...

This chapter made me laugh.

I love Wedge. To see him doing what he does best is always an enjoyable read. And you write him really well.

No suprise he corralled (sp?) his Captain into being that negotiator. I'm pretty confident that they can come to an agreement with the Empire.

Then together they can take on Jacen. beatup

this is sounding like WWII - defense treaties and such

I wanted to think of a realistic way to embroil the galaxy in war (and I'm not even going to go into the psychology behind that statement) and I drew on history. Nice catch!

Just a note though- while the situation is similar, don't read too much into it. I.E., don't see the entire GA as Nazis, etc.

I think Jaina's characterization is a little shaky in the earlier half

I think she's the toughest character to pin down, mainly because the profic has been inconsistant. I wanted to show her having a bit of an identity crisis- in one sense, she's just lost everything: the Jedi, her commission, her brother. So if she seems a little shaky, I intended it that way. I've just my hands on a copy of Sacrifice, and I like the way Jaina's characterization is going (if it's a bit abrupt) so I'm going to play with that now.

To be honest, the only major plot hole I could think of was the fact that the Moffs and the former Supreme Commander were all in the spaceport together. That's a major security risk, and it doesn't really make sense, to be honest...

It's sort of like the State of the Union. You have almost the entire government present, except for a few key members for continuity of government. Just think of Jag's announcement as his first State of the Union.

Thanks. Wedge is undoubtedly one of my favorite characters. I think Allston and Stackpole really contributed a lot to the Saga in their characterization of Wedge.

Hello All!

Just so you know, I have not dropped off the face of the earth. Things have been hectic- I've been working insane hours, packing for an extended trip, and starting a new story in the process (If It All Fell to Pieces- post Sacrifice, inspired by Eagles lyrics, http://boards.theforce.net/beyond_the_saga/b10477/27010990/p1/?0 not that I'm shameless or anything). The good news is that things have calmed down and a new post to this story will be up tomorrow, late tonight if the stars align (you know, the moon in the seventh house, Jupiter aligned with Mars...oh, sorry). grin

Anyway, thanks for hanging in there with me!
