Lola64 posted: Wow, that was one mega read. *wipes brow* I didn't think I was going to make it.
But I did and I'm in total shock.
Jag got stoned. I would have never thought he was the type.
Sorry to hear about Alexandria, but it makes sense that the loss of love would make Cem join the dark side. I hope Cem gets wise about Saeon's plans for him, otherwise he's a gonner.
So.....Venvarra is a Hapan. Didn't see that one coming. I hope you give us more insight to that part of the story. I'm interested in knowing which of the Hapans destroyed his life, if that even matters.
Will make it interesting to see his confrontation with Alanna.
Another great update.
Thanks .
Cem's future doesn't look too pleasant. I won't say much on him. You'll find out more as time goes on.
Regarding Venvarra, all I can say is that before this story is over you will know where in the cluster he is from. His cousin or his cousin's nobody will appear again but I'm not going to reveal her role in this. I'll let it be a total surprise .

Note to readers- I'm working on Chapter 16 of this story. But recently I've looked over my chart of events that take place in the story and I've noticed that this tale is becoming much longer than I first expected. I'm talking really, really long. Just to let you all know we're going to be on Chapter 16 and judging from my event list, we're not even close to the story's main big conclusion. So I'm actually considering on splitting this giant story into three seperate stories. But before I do anything or post the next chapter, I want to know what you the readers think. Which is why I'm going to have you guys vote on this.
The question is simple: Should I split this story into three installments? Or just post all of it despite the incredible length?
**This survey will end 10:00 pm( pacific time) on July 8th**

I say split it, but only because as a reader, I love it when there's more fic to come after a completed one - ie. like a series of 'fics. It's so much fun to look forward to sequels and such, and it's easier for writers to get through if they're split, too.
Looking forward to the next update.

Eep! I missed an updates, sorry about that. As always it was a pleasure to read!
As for the story, I would say spilit it. It makes for easier reading. Then there's always the added fun of advertising as a sequal.

Well, the survey is officially over. Thanks for your replies and helping me out in this decision . So it's now official, The Guardians of Light will be split into a trilogy of stories. The current story your reading is story 1. The second story will probably be titled 'The Guardians of Light II'. And the third will definitely be 'The Guardians of Light III'. I know, it's simple but not spoilerish.
Anyway, this week I will be posting Chapter 16. And don't worry...it won't be giant .

After a long hiatus, it's finally back ! I'm hoping that there won't be any delays in the future.
Anyway, this chapter is not as long as the previous ones. However, I will say that the ending is a little...grim. You may or may not be surprised on what you find out in this chapter. Anyway without further delay. Here's the chapter and I hope you all like it .
--------------------------------------------
CHAPTER 16: Not Invincible
Sora, looking closely at the small blue screen on the ship's console, saw the coordinates to Correllia appear in yellow writing. He pushed the purple comm. button and said through the speaker:
"We have the coordinates. Thanks again, Ben."
Through the speaker, Sora heard Ben reply. "Don't mention it. We'll talk again when we reach Correllia."
"Roger that."
Sora, a smile on his face, pressed the purple button and looked at the viewport. After a minute passed, he saw in the distance the Starkiller blast off into lightspeed. He turned his gaze back to the console and began making the needed preparations to go into lightspeed.
Kairi, sitting in a cushioned seat behind Sora, sat back and said with a smile. "Those Jedi are really cool."
"They sure are." said Sora. "But I got to admit though they're not exactly what I expected."
"They aren't?"
"Yeah I mean, I actually thought they were going to be these intimidating looking people in thick armor with giant swords and huge laser cannons on their shoulders."
Kairi giggled a little, shook her head, and replied. "Sora, sometimes you really do have a wild imagination."
"Oh come on, Kairi, you can't tell me that there wasn't a small part of you that thought the Jedi were going to look a little.........you know...."
"Out of the ordinary?"
"Yeah."
"Well to tell the truth, I guess I was sort of expecting them to have.........wings."
Sora frowned, stopped his work on the console, and looked over at Kairi. "Wings?"
"Yeah, I.........thought they were going to have these huge blue energy wings sticking out of their backs and have hair made out of water."
Sora stared at her for a few seconds.
"And you say I have a wild imagination." said Sora. "Wow."
Kairi folded her arms. "Hey, it's no different than the idea of armored people with shoulder cannons."
Sora smiled, looked back at the console, and continued the preparations.
"Well either way, I'm just relieved that the Jedi turned out to be friendly folks." he said.
"Me too." replied Kairi. "At first I was afraid that they were going to be mean to us or something."
"They have good hearts.........It's going to be a real honor working with them."
Sora pressed two more buttons then looked over at Kairi and said. "The preparations are now complete. Hang on."
Sora turned his gaze back to the view port and held on. Kairi did the same. They both heard the low hum of the hyper gummi as the ship prepared to blast off. In less than a minute, they felt the g forces from the launch pushing them in their seats and saw the stars become nothing but streaks. The g forces soon lessoned and Sora and Kairi were once again able to freely move about.
"You were impressive back there." said Sora.
"Huh?" replied Kairi.
Sora turned around and looked at Kairi. "On Endor. You handled yourself very well in battle."
"Well what did you expect? I mean I can take care of myself."
"Yes you can.........But nevertheless, if things ever do get too intense in a battle I want you to back down and find some place safe to hide."
Kairi raised her eyebrows and folded her arms across her chest. "Like hell I will."
"Please don't argue with me on this."
"Sora, I didn't travel billions of miles to another galaxy just to be some little damsel in distress hiding for dear life. I came on this quest to help the Jedi Knights and that's exactly what I'm going to do. Hard battle or easy battle, I'm not going to back down from a fight."
Sora stood up from his seat and walked over to where Kairi was sitting. He stopped, looked at her, and said. "Kairi, you may be a good fighter. In fact, you're one hell of a fighter from what I've seen... But there are Heartless out there that are far more brutal and relentless than the ones we fought today."
"I can handle them." Kairi said with a hint of anger in her tone.
"Can you?" Sora said, folding his arms.
Kairi opened her mouth to give a reply but instead she slowly closed it. She stared into Sora's eyes and after a few seconds, a hurt expression appeared on her face.
She turned her gaze to the ground and replied in a sad tone. "So after all that's happened. After all I've done. You still have no confidence in me."
Sora sighed. "I do have confidence in you. I always have. I just.........I just don't want you to suffer the same fate as those who have fallen to the Heartless. I've seen what some of these Heartless are capable of and what they do to their victims. There were times during those missions with the Army of Destiny where I had nightmares of you being killed the same way as the victims."
Kairi looked at him and replied. "I'm not one of those victims, Sora. And I'm not going to be."
"Me and several other troops in the Army of Destiny had a similar mentality. We thought that we were indestructible and that nothing could hurt us... But we learned that no matter how strong, smart, or skilled a fighter is, he or she is not invincible."
He raised his left arm and stared at it.
"It's just a pity that we learned that the hard way." Sora said in a low tone.
Kairi's expression softened and for a few seconds she just stared at Sora.
"Sora." Kairi said in a soft tone. "I know you're worried about me. But while you were on some of your missions, Yuffie taught me the ways of combat and how to properly defend myself as well as those around me."
"I don't doubt your talents." said Sora. He turned his gaze to Kairi and added. "I know you can definitely handle several of the regular Heartless. What I'm afraid of is that we will encounter a powerful foe and that it will kill you."
"That's not going to happen." Kairi stood up, walked towards Sora, and planted a soft kiss on his cheek. "Just have faith in me. What happened to you and those in the war won't occur again. That I'm going to make sure of."
"Kairi..."
"I told you earlier that I was going to face the danger with you for now on. And I'm going to stick by those words. We've already proved that if we work together we're practically unstoppable. So if we continue on working as a team, nothing will be able to stop us."
Sora, a look of uncertainty on his face, folded his arms and looked down at the ground.
"Come on, Sora. Let's keep a positive attitude on this adventure." Kairi said with a smile while rubbing Sora's right arm.
Sora sighed and looked at Kairi. "Alright......... I can see there's no point in trying to convince you......... You don't have to back down from a difficult battle."
Kairi smiled and kept her eyes on Sora, who was starting to walk towards the cockpit's exit. The door slid open and Sora stopped right in front of the open exit.
"But know this, Kairi." said Sora. "I love you with all my heart. And I'm going to do whatever I have to, to prevent Saeon and the Heartless from claiming the lives of you and everyone else."
With that, Sora exited the cockpit. Kairi breathed out a sigh, looked down at the ground, and slowly shook her head.
"Oh, Sora." Kairi said in a whispered tone.
--------------------------------------------------------
"This is some ship you guys have." Allana said, looking around the large hexagonal room.
The room that she and Riku were currently standing in was brightly lit courtesy of the overhead star shaped lights. The walls and ceiling were silver and the floor was that of red carpet. In the center of the room were ten yellow seats that formed a U around a circular blue table.
"Yeah it's pretty cool." said Riku. "My ship is better though."
Allana looked at Riku with an expression of interest and said. "You have your own ship?"
"Yeah. I left it back at home. It's very fast, sleek, and looks much better on the inside. It's not as.........colorful."
"So in other words it's bland." replied Allana.
"It's not bland. It's just......alright, take for example this lounge room. You won't find rooms this bright on my ship. They look a little more normal."
Allana walked over to the seat on the very end and sat down.
"So you don't like things that are too colorful, huh?" asked Allana.
"No, I have no problem with color. I just don't like too much of it. Too much of something can sometimes be a bad thing."
"Point."
Riku walked over and sat down in the seat right next to Allana.
"Personally, I like things that are very colorful. Then again, I'm known to like stuff that most people would find to be quirky."
Riku looked at Allana and asked. "Really? What sort of quirky things do you like?"
"Well, sometimes when I'm all alone in my room I jump on my bed. I also have this fascination with collecting tree and animal cards. And I'm probably the only Jedi my age that will actually watch The Three Gamorean Brother's Circus on the holovision."
"Hmm..........you like circuses?"
Allana nodded. "I especially love the clowns and the juggling acts and..........I can't believe I just told you all this."
"It's okay it just means you're-"
"Childish and silly." Allana sighed and looked down at the ground in shame. "You probably think I'm some sort of weirdo now, don't you?"
"Well actually-"
"I should've just kept my big mouth shut. It seems like every time I'm around a handsome man I always flub something up."
"Uh, Allana-"
"First I spill juice on a Kuat senator and now this. I'm surprised I can even use the Force properly."
"Allana-"
"Then again I haven't started the Rank 3 training yet. Oh kriff. I'm probably going to-"
"Allana!"
Allana quickly looked up and turned her attention to Riku.
"Relax. There's nothing wrong with being a little childish and making a few mistakes." Riku said, placing his hand on Allana's shoulder.
"Yeah but when I make mistakes they always turn out to be very disastrous and embarrassing." Allana said, a look of misery on her face.
"Hey. We all have those moments. I mean, we're human and humans make mistakes. And as for being childish, well.... think of it like this. If everyone were serious all the time, we'd have a very boring existence." said Riku.
Allana thought for a second. A smile soon appeared on her face.
"So you don't think I'm weird?" asked Allana.
"No.... I think you're cool." said Riku.
Allana blushed a little and turned her gaze away from Riku and to the ground. There was a brief silence before Riku spoke again.
"How about this? After we defeat Saeon and the Heartless, I'll take you to that Gamma circus." Riku said with a smile.
"You mean The Three Gamorean Brothers Circus." replied Allana.
"Oh yeah right. I'll take you to The Three Gamorean Brothers Circus. It'll just be you and me."
Allana giggled. "It's a date. If we survive all this."
"Oh we're going to prevail." Riku stood up from his seat, took three steps past the blue table, and added. "We just need to stay optimistic and take down any little crappy Heartless that gets in our way."
"Yeah." Allana said in a low tone.
There was brief silence that followed until Riku broke that silence.
"You really think I'm handsome?" asked Riku.
Allana, slightly taken back by his question, replied. "What?"
Riku's lips formed into a sly smile. He turned around and looked at Allana. "A while ago you said every time you're around a handsome man you always mess things up. Going by the way you put it, it seemed like you were hinting at how you thought I was good looking."
Allana smirked, stood up, and said. "I guess I did sort of hint at that, huh."
"You certainly did."
"Well...if you want an answer than yes. I think you're handsome."
Riku's smile widened. Allana walked closer to Riku until there was only a few inches between them.
"But the real question is: do I think you're more handsome than the Kuat senator?" Allana said playfully.
Riku's smile evaporated.
"Well... do you?" asked Riku.
Allana didn't give a reply. She just smiled, turned to the exit, and headed straight towards it.
"Well do you!?" Riku asked again.
Allana stopped in front of the open doorway and said. "Hmm....I think I'll tell you later on."
"Later on? How later?"
Allana giggled and walked through the doorway leaving Riku with a completely baffled look on his face.
------------------------------------------------------------
Jysella, sitting quietly at the pazaak table, stared at the center of the table with a sad look on her face.
"Are you alright?" Ben asked in a concerned tone.
Jysella looked over her shoulder and saw her husband in the middle of the doorway with his left arm resting against the wall.
"I'm fine." replied Jysella. She looked back at the table and added. "I was just thinking about Valin. And how you, me, him, and Tahiri used to play pazaak at this table."
Ben smiled thinly and said. "You and him were always the best at the game while me and Tahiri just completely sucked at it. Whenever we played one of you guys, you always won by a landslide."
"Didn't Valin beat you twelve times in a row once?"
"It was actually fourteen. No matter what strategy I used, he always came out the winner. Eventually I got frustrated and quit."
Ben looked down at the ground and added in a low tone. "Those were good times."
Jysella nodded and kept her gaze focused on the table.
Ben slowly walked over to the table and took a seat on the opposite side facing her.
He looked at his wife and said. "I wonder what he'd say about all this stuff about hearts and Heartless."
"He'd probably say the same thing I said," replied Jysella. "That this is the strangest stuff we've ever dealt with."
"Yeah, that sounds like something he'd say."
There was a long silence between husband and wife. Jysella finally broke the silence.
"Ben, I'm not sure about this one." she said.
"Hmm?" Ben responded with a frown.
Jysella looked at him and said. "We've faced Dark Jedi, pirates, Mandalorians; but I have this feeling that Saeon is going to be far worse than all of them."
"He might. I'm just curious as to what made him become the way he is. He wants to destroy our galaxy as well the galaxy of the Keyblade Masters. But what I want to know is why." said Ben.
"Because he's a genocidal lunatic that needs to be taught a lesson."
"Yes, yes. But what drove him to be genocidal? If I can find out more about him, maybe... just maybe... I can redeem him."
An incredulous look appeared on Jysella's face.
"Redeem him!?" Jysella said in tone full of outrage. "Ben, the man destroyed Pollis Massa and who knows how many other worlds. He's responsible for several deaths and wants to destroy two galaxies. I think he's become a little too evil now to be redeemed."
"I don't believe that evil has a permanent claim on a person's soul. Let's look at history, Jysella. My grandfather was the most feared Sith in the galaxy and a genocidal monster. But my father redeemed that monster. My mother was a vicious dark assassin and killed countless people. But my father converted her over to the light. Kyp Durron destroyed an entire system and was on the path to becoming a ruthless young Sith. But he was turned to the light and is now a wise Jedi Master. My cousin Jaina was on the verge of becoming a sinister Dark Jedi, but Durron helped her see the light. Time and time again, my family and the Jedi have proven that a person who appears evil can be turned back to the light." said Ben.
"Ben, this man is responsible for the death of my brother and Cassie."
"I know.......... But I also know that Valin would not want us to hold grudges. Think, Jysella. What would Valin want to do if he was still alive?"
Jysella sighed. "I know what he would want to do. He'd want to do the same thing you want to do."
"Exactly." said Ben. He leaned back in his seat and added. "Think about it, instead of just bunking him off and saving the galaxies, we could save his soul and save the galaxies."
"Ben, I know you want to see the good in people like always. But what if I'm right and Saeon is beyond redemption?"
"In my opinion, no person is beyond redemption. Killing him would be the easy way out. And I don't intend on taking a life even my enemy's."
"But will the Keyblade Masters go along with this?"
"We all have the same goal: stop Saeon and the Heartless. And that's what we're going to do." said Ben. He paused, clasped his hands together, and added. "But instead of destroying the Heartless leader, I'm going to find a way to dispel his darkness... and make him see the light."
------------------------------------------------------
Sora, sitting on the edge of his bed in him and Kairi's quarters, looked at his left arm with a crinkled brow. With his right hand, he touched his wrist. It felt just like real skin...but in reality it wasn't.
He flipped open a small hatch on his wrist and saw the circuitry of his prosthetic. He sighed and looked over at his right arm, which was real and natural. He slowly turned his gaze back to his robotic left arm and for a long time he just stared at it with a sad expression on his face.
How did it come to this? That's all 17-year-old Sora could say in his head. How did it come to this? He had faced many foes, overcome several dangerous scenarios, and had assisted his planet's army and their allies in many battles.
He seemed invincible like his friend Riku. The public and even a few troops looked up to them. Some even called them the greatest. Some thought they were immortal. For a while, Sora even believed it himself. But now that has changed. After all he's overcome, here he was chained up like an animal with his arms stretched upward. More than anything he wanted to summon his keyblade. But the iron shackles that bind him had his hands so close together that summoning the blade was useless.
His bare chest and back, burning with pain, showed the wounds of the whip lashings that the invisibles inflicted on him. The invisibles. Just thinking about them filled Sora with rage.
They were one of the strongest and meanest of the Heartless. They were muscular beasts that stood 6 feet tall in height. They had razor sharp claws, sharp teeth, glowing yellow eyes, two giant horns sticking out of their forehead, and a pair of bat like wings on their back. In many ways, they looked like devils.
Sora took several quick breaths then looked up at the chains that were holding him in place. He growled, gritted his teeth, and shook the chains. He struggled, he jerked, but no matter what he couldn't get free. A look of hopelessness formed on his face. He scanned his surroundings and saw the brown rocky walls of the underground tunnel. To his left hanging upside down were fifteen skinless dead bodies. Seven of them were fellow troops that accompanied him on this now disastrous mission. And the other eight were villagers that him and the troops were supposed to protect.
Blood covered the walls and the only ones alive in the chamber besides Sora were Tidus, four Army of Destiny fighters( three males and one female), and three Radiant Knights( two males and one female). Tidus and the seven troops were also chained up and had several cuts all over their bodies.
Sora, a hopeless look still on his face, stared at the pained expressions on their faces. Seeing them all like that broke Sora's heart. He wanted to help them; to free them from the hellhole that they were in. But he couldn't. All he could do was watch as his comrades and friends were tortured, skinned, or cut up into pieces by the invisibles. It frightened him. No. It terrified him beyond belief to not be able to prevent such atrocities from happening to those around him. He was helpless. He was powerless against such brutal enemies. And it truly......... terrified him.
He closed his eyes and shook his head. He could hear the screams of men, women, and even children echoing through the tunnels. They were crying for help. Some even screamed his name hoping that he would be the hero and rescue them. But that was not going to happen. The sad realization hit him like a ten-ton brick. He was not a hero. Nor was he a super hero. He was a man. A mortal. A prisoner. And he couldn't stop these powerful creatures from hurting his comrades and the innocent villagers.
He opened his eyes and allowed the tears to stream down his face. He heard their footsteps. Coming closer towards the chamber. Sora began to panic. He struggled and gave out a cry. He knew what they were coming to do. And he was going to stop them. He had to stop them.
He looked straight ahead and in the shadows he saw the devilish outlines of the invisibles. He struggled again and this time Tidus and the other troops did the same. But it was futile.
Ten invisibles walked out of the shadows and looked at Sora, Tidus, and the troops. Five of the invisibles had whips in their hands. Two of them had saws. And the other three had giant swords.
The three invisibles with swords walked over to Tidus and the seven troops. They growled and stopped in front of the three male Army of Destiny troops. The male troops struggled and cried. The invisibles hissed and brought their swords up to the three troops' necks.
"Nooooooo!!!!!!" Sora cried in anger.
With a quick swipe from their blades, the three invisibles slit the throats of the three male troops.
"You damn creatures of oblivion!!!" shouted Tidus. "Come on!!! Leave them alone!! Fight me! Fight me!"
Two of the five invisibles with whips walked over to Tidus and thrashed him across the chest. Tidus cried out in pain and Sora just watched in horror.
The female radiant knight screamed as the three sword wielding invisibles un-cuffed her. They then un-cuffed the female Army of Destiny troop.
Both women screamed and struggled as the three invisibles began dragging them by the hair towards the shadows.
Sora, a look of anger now on his face, screamed. "No!!! Stop it!! Kill me instead, you monsters!!"
But his words meant nothing. He couldn't do anything to stop what was happening. All he could do was scream and watch two women, both the same age as Kairi, be dragged off into the shadow to be skinned or ripped to shreds.
Three of the invisibles with whips came before Sora. They reached up and started unlocking his shackles. Sora felt a spark of hope. The opportunity he was praying for might've finally come. At long last, he might finally have a chance to end this madness.
Sora noticed that the other two invisibles with whips started unlocking Tidus's shackles. His eyes locked with Tidus's. They both gave a nod. As soon as they were free, they attacked. Tidus delivered two strong punches across the faces of the two whip wielding invisibles.
Sora kicked an invisible in the gut then summoned his keyblade into his right hand. The three invisibles roared and swung their whips at Sora. Sora evaded all three attacks then charged and stabbed one of the invisibles in the chest. The invisible roared and evaporated. Sora dodged two more swift thrashings and swung his keyblade across the belly of an invisible. The invisible growled but didn't fade away.
Sora quickly noticed that Tidus was now on the ground yelling and swinging his fists at two invisibles, who were both pounding away on Tidus with their fists.
Sora gritted his teeth and aimed his keyblade at the two invisibles beating Tidus. He fired an ice spell at them and to his surprise, neither invisible died from the spell. He looked back at the other two whip wielding invisibles and saw them swing their whips at him. He deflected one attack but couldn't deflect the other. Sora gave out a cry as he felt the whip cut into his flesh. Like lightning, the two invisibles charged and knocked Sora to the ground. Sora tried to stand up, but the two invisibles thrashed him repeatedly with their whips.
He was now flat on the ground gritting his teeth. The invisibles didn't let up. Over and over again, they brought their whips down on Sora. Sora screamed and aimed his keyblade at the invisibles. He fired a fireball at one of them and saw that it had no effect. He fired a stream of lightning at them. But it did no damage. He repeatedly shot them with fireballs, ice balls, and streams of lightning. But neither invisible went down. His grip weakened. And the keyblade fell to the ground with a loud clank and disappeared.
The two invisibles finally ceased their attack and stared down at Sora. In his heart, he wanted to fight on and destroy every invisible in sight. But he wasn't invincible. Pain and fatigue got the better of him.
He could feel the blood oozing from his wounds. Every time he moved a limb, a striking pain shot across his body. He felt weak and light headed. Like as if he was going to faint at any moment. He slowly turned his head to Tidus and saw that he was in the same condition as he was.
A frown appeared on his face when noticed that two invisibles were on their knees holding down Tidus's left arm. Tidus growled and tried to get free from their grasp. The two male Radiant Garden troops were cursing and shouting at the invisibles.
Sora looked at the two invisibles that whipped him and saw them walking to him. They stopped, got down on their knees, and held down his right arm. Sora's heartbeat quickened. Fear was once again rising in him. He had no idea what they were about to do to him or Tidus. That is until he remembered that there were two other invisibles in the room equipped with saws.
Despite all the pain, Sora tried to get free from their grasp. Slowly, the invisibles with saws walked towards Sora and Tidus. Both Sora and Tidus's movements became more frantic. But it was no use. The invisibles' grip was too strong.
Sora didn't look over at Tidus. His gaze was fixated on the saw held in the hand of the approaching invisible.
"No! No!! NOOOO!!!! AHHHH!!!!" Sora heard Tidus scream. He couldn't bear to look over. He already knew what happened. It was the same thing that was about to happen to him.
The invisible got down on its knees, grabbed Sora's left arm, and held the saw right over the elbow section.
Sora glared up into the creature's yellow eyes and said in a weak tone. "Damn you.... Damn you why are you doing this?"
The invisible opened its mouth and responded in a deep demonic voice. "Life...light...must perish. Life...light...must perish."
Soon every invisible in the chamber began chanting: "Life...light...must perish. Life...light...must perish."
The chants became louder and louder.
Sora frowned and looked at all of them. Through the chants, he heard more screams in the background. They were the screams of women.
Sora turned his gaze back at the invisible with the saw and said in a hateful tone. "Go to hell."
The invisibles' chants continued and grew even louder. Sora gave out a loud cry as he felt the saw carving into his left arm.
Sora breathed out a sigh and buried his face into his hands. He slowly shook his head trying to shake away the awful memories of that incident. He removed his hands from his face and stared at his prosthetic. He looked at it for a long time.
A dark look appeared on his face. He clinched his fist and said. "Damn you, Heartless. Damn you all."
He stood up from his bed and closed the small hatch on his wrist. He summoned the Kingdom Key into his right hand.
He gazed at the blade and spoke again. "I'm not going to let Kairi, Riku, the Jedi, or anyone else experience the same horror that I experienced.... Saeon, Heartless; you better get ready... because I'm going to destroy you all. Oh yes... to bring peace to the universe. You all must be destroyed."

Welcome back Earthknight.
Wow, kind of gloomy there at the end. But evil does horrible things. And it's good to know what happens to the characters that make them strive to defeat the enemy.
The bit with Alanna and Riku was cute. And Ben, he was just like his father in this chapter. I am not sure how successful he'll be in redeeming Saeon, but one can only try. Well, not Jedi, they can do or do not. We'll just see which one it is for Ben.

Ooooh, I'm so happy to see this story back! This has made my day!
I loved the interaction between Kairi and Sora - it was real and sweet to see the concern shown.
Allana and Riku was totally expected, yet loved nonetheless! The banter was priceless!
Allana nodded. "I especially love the clowns and the juggling acts and..........I can't believe I just told you all this."
"It's okay it just means you're-"
"Childish and silly." Allana sighed and looked down at the ground in shame. "You probably think I'm some sort of weirdo now, don't you?."
Oh kriff. I'm probably going to-"
Oh, Allana, deep breathes and less caffiene.
Then afterwards - oh boy.
A great update! It's good to see this back.

Indeed it was gloomy. In fact, there will be more gloom in the future. But luckily there will be a lot of light stuff too.
Allana and Riku are going to continue to grow closer together. Ben certainly does have a lot of his father in him. But unlike those cases of redemption that he mentioned, this one is going to be a lot more difficult. Could even be impossible. But who knows.

Aww, I'm glad to hear that my story made your day. That makes me happy . I'm also happy that you enjoyed the chapter.
There will be a lot more Sora/Kairi interaction in future chapters. They'll talk, kiss, fight side by side, you know. Allana and Riku will grow closer. And Ben and Sora's different methods in dealing with Saeon could lead to a little conflict between them. Nothing big but an argument could occur.
The next chapter will feature the Jedi Council, King Mickey, Cloud, and several others. It will have a surprising ending though.

So glad to see this one updated!
There's going to be plenty more updates coming up. I've begun on Chapter 17. Things are going to start getting pretty intense because there's going to be some hero/villain interaction. And...there will be some murders . Question is who is going to die?
Luckily, a certain character got a reprieve in my story.
I'm glad you all enjoyed this update.

However, I will say that the ending is a little...grim.
Ooh.. I like grim endings!
--------------------------------------------
CHAPTER 16: Not Invincible
Lovely chapter title there, Earthknight!
"Wow."
LOL! Aww, those two are soo cute together! You really write them both so well.
Oh, this so reminds me of the kind of relationship Anakin and Tahiri used to have... before he went and got himself killed. I love that they're able to argue so much and still be so perfect for each other, it really is wonderful to read.
And this part right here made me think of the convo A/T had in Conquest, when they were alone at night, right before Tahiri was taken by the Vong. One of my favourite A/T moments of the whole NJO, so thanks for reminding me of that.
"I can handle them." Kairi said with a hint of anger in her tone.
She's just like Tahiri - fiesty, stubborn.. maybe that's why I like her so much?
"But know this, Kairi." said Sora. "I love you with all my heart. And I'm going to do whatever I have to, to prevent Saeon and the Heartless from claiming the lives of you and everyone else."
Aww... sweet!!
--------------------------------------------------------
"I should've just kept my big mouth shut. It seems like every time I'm around a handsome man I always flub something up."
Don't we all?
"You really think I'm handsome?" asked Riku.
LOL! I was waiting for him to bring that up!
"Well do you!?" Riku asked again.
Allana stopped in front of the open doorway and said. "Hmm....I think I'll tell you later on."
"Later on? How later?"
Allana giggled and walked through the doorway leaving Riku with a completely baffled look on his face.
Gosh, I feel like I'm actually playing the game, and the Jedi are characters! Nothing feels out of place, it's just so wonderful. Props for making this work so well, I love it! Riku and Allana are so awesome together.
------------------------------------------------------------
"Ben, this man is responsible for the death of my brother and Cassie."
I'm with Jysella on this one. *wuvsies Valin*
------------------------------------------------------
A dark look appeared on his face. He clinched his fist and said. "Damn you, Heartless. Damn you all."
He stood up from his bed and closed the small hatch on his wrist. He summoned the Kingdom Key into his right hand.

Cool! I can't wait to see Sora kick some butt.. I'm really liking this change in him.
Fantastic update, as always. This is the best cross-over I've ever read, because it's all so real and believable, it's just wonderful!
Thanks for the PM, and sorry I was so late in replying.

Good thing. Because there could be more coming up. Which means there will be deaths .

Thanks .

Aren't they terrific ? I too love the Sora/Kairi pairing with a passion.

It's interesting that you bring that up because when I was writing this chapter I said to myself "Hey this reminds me of Anakin and Tahiri". I try to make Sora and Kairi's relationship kind of realistic. Not too overly lovey, dovey. Just real. You can see by their actions that they care about each other. But don't worry there will be kissing. Question is will they do more than kiss in the sequels? W
Oh and trust me when I say that I don't intend on making Sora suffer the same fate as Anakin. I mean, I'm going to put Sora through enough torment as it is .

That makes me happy. I'm so glad you love it, Ant. My goal was to make this story feel like one of the KH games but at the same time have Star Wars feel to it. That way you get the best of both worlds.
Jedi-Ant posted: I'm with Jysella on this one. *wuvsies Valin*
She might indeed be right on this one. Ben is thinking this will be like a Vader, Caedus, or a Juhani. This is going to be a lot different. A LOT different. In fact.....it will be scary .

Oh he's going to get some action alright. He's experienced the horrors of war and the brutality of the Heartless. The war didn't entirely change him but made him a little tougher on his opponents. His experience with war is going to be very helpful for the Jedi.
Sora is like a Batman, Ben is like Superman, and Saeon....is a combo of Voldemort, the killer in American Psycho, and the villain from Red Dragon. Yes, that last bit is a scary combination and you'll soon see.
Jedi-Ant posted: Thanks for the PM, and sorry I was so late in replying.
You're welcome .
And it's okay if you were late. I'm sometimes late myself in replies. We all know about DRL.
