Leona: Glad you liked that line about the stormtroopers shooting. I'd say that the weapons will come in handy in some form.
Okay, here comes the next post!
Two columns of shimmering light broke in on the gloom that pervaded the interior of the cube. The columns resolved into humanoid forms, and finally solidified into Luke and Mara Skywalker. "Well, at least we didn't end up floating in space," Luke said, activating the tiny band strapped to his upper right arm. Mara did likewise, her transmitter almost blending in with the Borg-like prosthetic.
"So which do we go after first?" Mara asked. " I don’t suppose you have any thoughts as to how we're supposed to find this Borg Queen."
"I was thinking that we'll just need to make her come to us," Luke said. "We know she's already become fascinated by Jedi."
"Somehow, attacking the Borg doesn't seem to me the smartest option we have available," Mara said.
"I'm not suggesting we go blasting away at the drones," Luke said, stepping out of the way as a drone approached, then passed, apparently oblivious to the two intruders. "Looks like they haven't decided we're a threat."
"Yet," Mara said. "That could change if we start blasting holes in their ship from the inside."
"Right," Luke said. "I was thinking that the Queen's probably going to be close to the vinculum, if what Picard said about it is true. If it acts as a conduit to all the drones, and she's as much of a control freak as Picard suggests, then she wouldn't be leaving it for long."
"I'm with you so far," Mara said.
"I was able to sense the vinculum from the bridge of the Enterprise. I can still feel it here, although it's a little less defined."
"Probably all the drones bumbling about," Mara said, as one practically bumped into her. "Remind me to avoid becoming one of these things in reality."
"Don’t worry," Luke said. "After all the time it took to find you, I'll be blasted if I'm going to let one of these things take you away from me."
"Careful with your emotions, Farmboy," Mara said. "We don't want to blow our cover."
"If the Borg can sense emotions, Mara, our cover's long blown. Let's go find the vinculum and let these Borg know that their presence in our galaxy isn't wanted."
"Lead the way, Skywalker. You're the one in tune with their frequency."
"Thanks for reminding me, Mara," Luke said sourly. Then he strode off, attempting to mimic the gait of the drones they'd seen so far. Mara, behind, tried to suppress a giggle, but had no luck. Luke turned, a question on what could be seen of his face. "What?"
"You," Mara said, then mimicked Luke's attempt at imitation. "I couldn't help it."
"You should see how you do it," Luke said. "For one who's so methodical about her movements, seeing you walking like a drone is a little…odd."
"Then let's get this done before we're discovered. I don’t want it to become permanent." With that, the two set off, heading deeper into the heart of the cube.

At least L/M have a sense of humor about the situation they are in. Yet it could also be a touch of nervousness. Have to wonder that since Luke can tap into the vinculum, can The Queen tap into Luke. Especially since she herself is so connected to it. She has to of figured out that something is extremely amiss. It is going to be really rough for L/M to see commrads already captured and assimulated. Super job and thanks!

I have gotten to page 7 and I have to take a break from reading but I am loving the story so far. I haven't watched much of Next Generation, and I haven't read ANY of the EU books but I can almost hear the star trek characters in my head.

Great story i read about to page5 you got the next generations down i love the interaction bwtween them and the jedi keep up the good work and add me to your pm list i am doing a crossover with Voyager i am about done part II and i posting part1 now every few days
love the l/m Bantering Mara and Farm boy face to face with the Borg interesting more please and don't keep us in suspense/ I just now finally got caught up your a great author.
