RE: ~Of Roses and Racers~ Jaina/OC - romance, humour, mush > Ch 7 up! (10/10) > Kiss or no kiss?
Sorry about the wait...
Here's the next part!
Enjoy!
Comments welcome...
[ Chapter 8 – Learning to Fall . . .]
At least… she didn’t answer with words.
They stood together, silent and still.
Jaina couldn’t get used to the feeling of his arms around her. It was soothing yet unbearably hot all at once. To be so close to him was intoxicating. Every breath brought them closer. Pressed tightly, their bodies unconsciously began to mould together.
His heated breath flickered across her skin, and Jaina melted inside.
Lean, tall and deliciously rogued, Orion made every one of her feminine senses pant. Desire rocketed in her. She couldn’t and didn’t want to deny these emotions pulsing through her.
He was so compelling. As he stood there patiently, just watching her with those gorgeous blue eyes, Jaina couldn’t think of anything else.
His words echoed in her mind:
“May I?”
Before she could even rethink it, she reached for him. Her hands smoothed up over his hard chest, over his broad shoulders, to snake around his neck. Using that hold to draw him down towards her.
Not needing any further encouragement, Orion dipped his head and claimed her lips in a fiery kiss.
His racing heart pounded. He clutched her tight. Kissed her skilfully. He certainly knew how to please.
Jaina could barely breathe.
He tasted exquisite.
His lips were soft, yet rough and demanding. Expertly, his mouth savoured hers. His tongue licked and swirled with hers, as his teeth teasingly nipped her lush lips. Every taste was a surge of heat.
It was erotic, sweet and seductive. He was delectably addictive. Drugging her senses beyond rational thought, Orion captured and plundered her mouth. Over and over his lips attacked, deepening the kiss.
Orion wanted to slow down but couldn’t bring himself to stop.
Not to mention Jaina’s reactions to him weren’t making it easy. She clutched him fiercely, her wandering hands were all over his body and her luscious lips teased him, again and again. With her every touch, he felt himself turning inside out.
She was overwhelming him.
It was true he’d kissed many women.
But there was none that held a torch to this woman and her passion.
Excitement jolted through them both. Orion threaded his fingers amongst her dark hair, treasuring the silky curls. Jaina gripped his shirt and neck, holding him firmly in place, kissing him senseless.
Breathless, light-headed and consumed by arousing sensations, Orion’s hands started to wander over her perfect curves. Growing possessive of her, his hands moved boldly, caressing and claiming her. Wave after wave of ragged heat tore at his senses.
He was losing control. And it scared him.
With this one kiss, this soul-stealing kiss, he realised something. He wanted her. Not just to have and to pleasure, but he really longed for her. It was so intense. He wanted to spoil her, make her smile and hear her seductive laughter.
Embracing her like this was heaven. A simple joy he’d always taken for granted. A kiss. An explosive kiss. A soulful kiss.
Before things flew out of complete control, Orion reluctantly pulled away from her lips. Both of them rasped for air. Staring at each other, they mutely caught their breaths back. He could feel her heart hammering in time with his.
Panting slightly, Jaina murmured,
“I didn’t think… my lips still worked.”
Smiling down at her, he replied,
“Trust me, they work.”
Flushing red, Jaina laughed.
She sobered quickly.
She suddenly comprehended what she’d just done. A light of sadness crept over her face. Orion felt his insides ache for her. Guilt, confusion and anguish swirled in her dark eyes. She was struggling with conflicting emotions of happiness and shame.
Did she regret it? He prayed she didn’t. But knew this could be a huge step for her. She’d lost her husband, she’d had no one since, he understood her internal conflict. This would be difficult for her.
To be perfectly honest he didn’t feel like he deserved her. She was pure heaven. Yet a part of him was willing to jump and try for her, and her heart. He wanted to make her happy.
But would she let him try?
She went mute.
“What is it?” He asked, dreading the answer.
Avoiding his gaze, she shook her head uselessly and whispered,
“I just.. I haven’t had a kiss since….” her words drifted to a stop.
She didn’t know how to continue. It was painful to think and feel, let alone say it.
Images of Calvin flashed in her memory. She felt guilty for being with Orion, for giving in to her attraction to him. Her heart was torn.
She wanted to move on, but felt like she was betraying her late husband if she did. Was it wrong to long for someone new? Her mind rationalised that it wasn’t, whilst her heart contradicted.
She hated being so twisted and utterly baffled by her own emotions.
“I.. I just….” She tried again, but words failed her.
With one finger under her chin, he gently drew her head up, to face him. Gazing at her tenderly, he murmured,
“I know.”
He smiled sadly at her and added quietly,
“I shouldn’t have kissed you.”
There was a short pause.
The noiseless moment was shattered, as she softly admitted,
“I kissed you back.”
Orion stared at her gorgeous face, her dark eyes and lush lips. Lips that would haunt him. He felt the stirrings within him, his blood hot and his body tense. Her touch had scorched him. She had unconsciously lit up something raw and pure in his soul. It burned for her.
He knew he was falling too fast.
He just couldn’t control it.
He wished he could ease her sadness and bring clarity to her confusion. But he couldn’t, not really. She had to be the one to do that. Only she could decide when she was ready to move on. All he could do was wait. He didn’t want to pressurise her.
He would wait. Because he knew, as he gazed into those stunning hazel eyes, that she’d be more than worth the time.
Orion rested his forehead on hers, and whispered faintly,
“I know you feel guilty. But don’t. You’ve nothing to be guilty over. I’m rushing you. I won’t do it again.”
“You’re not rushing me.” She countered.
Jaina looked up into his sincere eyes and relaxed completely in his warm arms. He held her. His larger body surrounded around her, protecting and soothing her. She rested her head against his chest and wrapped her arms around his waist.
Even though she felt guilty for the kiss, she couldn’t shake the great feeling of contentment she experienced in his embrace.
She liked him, a lot. And was curious to see where this could lead. Jaina was willing to find out. More than just a little bit tempted.
“I want to see where this goes.” She confessed quietly, “Do you?”
Resting his chin on the top of her head, he whispered,
“More than you know.”
“I’m not quite ready for this.”
“I’ll wait.” Orion murmured, “I don't intent on replacing anyone. I just want to know you Jaina. Will you let me in?”
Jaina listened to the strong rhythm of his heart.
Distantly she replied,
“I hope so.”

That was sweet; and I hope that Jaina does get over her guilt. She and Orion sound like they were made for each other with the whole flying thing, speaking of which; who would win in a race? Orion or Jaina? Needless to say, it would probably be interesting...
Could you add me to the PM list? Thanks!

Man, I knew that Jaina was going to have some unnecessary feeling of guilt over that. Okay, so I can't really say that I've been in her position before. It'll be interesting to see how she gets past this. Unless of course you plan on doing one of your signature twists and things end up not working out between them. *knocks on wood*
As always, loved the mush. You have a real talent for describing perfectly what people would feel in situations such as these.

More next week!
PHGS_Weyr :
I’m masterful?

Ace! Thanks for clicking.
Jaina_Solo_Goddess :
Its like you read my mind, lol, Orion and Jaina are different (careers ect) but have similar interests (such as flying, and other fast sports), which is why I think they’ll work well together. Who’d win a race? Orion or Jaina? Hmm…. We might find out later.
I’ll add you to the PMs, thanks for reading.
Jade_Skywalker :
I’ve got signature twists??
Since when…? Lol. I never kinda realised my writing style had its own signature style, I’m actually flattered you pointed it out.
Don’t worry too much, I kinda love these characters so I don’t see many dark twists coming anytime soon. Glad ya enjoyed the mush.
VaderLVR64 :
Thank you!

Jaina kissed him senseless? You go girlfriend!
Panting slightly, Jaina murmured,

Smiling down at her, he replied,
“Trust me, they work.”
Love Orion, just saying.

PM's will be late, sorry.
Apart from that, enjoy!
[ Chapter 9 – Time For Two ]
Warmth beamed from the sky above. The midday sun sizzled brightly over Hanna’s glorious stretch of beach.
Along the sandy shoreline people laughed, snoozed and relaxed. Holiday-makers laid motionless, sunbathing, reading HoloNovels and eating ice creams. The locals started several fires on the beach. Together, in their friendly groups, they barbecued food and chilled out around the flames, talking and jesting to one another.
Lying on her stomach Jaina flicked through a HoloMagazine. She sighed contently.
It had been three days since Orion took her to the Gladean State gardens. Three days since that mind-blowing kiss. That kiss had fired her blood, burned her lips and secretly captured her heart. And it was the one and only kiss they’d shared, so far.
Orion had been very gentlemanly and slightly tentative towards her, ever since the gardens. He wanted to know her, yet he wanted to give her space and time, which she very much appreciated. His consideration for her feelings was heart-warming.
Together Orion and Jaina chilled out. Sometimes they’d be talking for hours on end, other times, they’d be content with just relaxing in each other’s company. Today was a combination of the two.
An alluring black bikini fitted Jaina’s stunning body, as she lied on the sand. Her dark tresses fluttered freely in the light breeze. Casually she laid there, just content to read and not dwell on anything. Oblivious, she had no idea what she was doing to every man that caught sight of her.
Beside her, Orion merely observed the beach. But mostly, he observed Jaina.
Relaxed, he rested on his back. With his hands underneath his head, he let the sun heat his skin. He tried not to stare, but couldn’t drag his eyes away from her. And he realised that he wasn’t the only one. Many surfer guys strolled past and gazed at Jaina’s perfect body.
Her flawless skin, sultry legs, womanly curves, gorgeous hair and stunning face, were deadly attractive. Orion couldn’t and wouldn’t deny that. There was an aura of innocent beauty about her.
A tall attractive guy walked past and cast a smouldering look over her. Jaina seemed naïve to the attention she was getting. Orion concluded that she didn’t realise, because she was too modest to even consider herself as ‘hot’.
The hot once-over looks she kept getting, made his blood boil with a possessive nature. He tried to ignore the feeling. But with every guy eyeing her up like some piece of sexual fantasy, Orion couldn’t help feeling protective.
Naively, Jaina continued to read. Tucking back stray curls behind her ear, she flickered over the page and frowned.
Noticing her expression, he asked,
“What is it?”
Glancing up at him, Jaina answered,
“According to HoloNet Entertainment, I’ve vanished to the Outer Rim on a secret honeymoon, to a place I’ve never heard of. And I’m married to some sport guy, whose name I can barely pronounce.”
A deep laugh erupted from Orion.
“Gotta hand it to the HoloNet, it makes brilliant fiction!”
“Yeah, annoying fiction that my mother rings me up over.” Jaina shook her head but smiled despite herself, “She always rings, especially if the fiction’s to do with marriage and weddings.”
“Sounds like your mum should meet my mum.” Orion jested.
“What and let them trade match-making techniques? No. My mother is enough as it is.”
He smiled at her, as he sat up to stretch his muscles.
Jaina tried to focus on her magazine, but found it very difficult to distract herself from him. It never went unnoticed that Orion had the body of a god. With him only wearing a pair of tight swim short, it was painfully obvious just how well sculptured, toned and athletically built he was.
As he flexed and tensed his muscles, Jaina glimpsed at him over her magazine and forced herself not to drool.
Distantly, Orion went back on topic and said quietly,
“I think HoloNet fiction is fine . . as long as you know the truth. Let them have the rumours if it’s what keeps them happy.”
“Don’t you ever get tired of the rumours?”
“Of course.” Orion admitted, as he turned to look her in the eye, “But the way I see it, when they’re talking about you, they’re just giving someone else a rest. What comes around goes around. Especially in the media.”
Narrowing her dark eyes on him, she replied,
“Come on, you’ve been in the news constantly lately, you must hate it. I’m surprised you don’t have a bunch of stalking photographers after you right now.”
Nonchalantly, he shrugged.
“Sometimes I can escape them. This is just a lucky break for me at the moment.”
“You ever out of the spotlight?”
The smile faded from his lips.
“No. Not really.” He answered truthfully.
It was hard to admit that out loud, because it made his life appear like one big show. A show for other people to watch, laugh at, and criticize. Being a celebrity had once been a dream of his, now it was more of a nuisance. There was no glamour in having people stalk you with holo-cams.
He stared out at the calm ocean before them. Watching people in the water, as they played and swam.
Jaina followed his gaze and put down her magazine. Deciding she’d had enough of lounging around; she stood up and brushed the sand from her skin. Orion gazed at her silently. He couldn’t think let along talk, as she stood above him, so casual, so beautiful it made his head hurt.
“You coming?”
“Where?” He frowned.
She kept eye contact with him and started walking backwards.
With her dark entrancing eyes she captured his complete attention. Step by step she slipped further away from him. She moved deliberately, slowly, sultrily. Gradually seducing him with her haunting eyes and mouth-watering body.
There was something in the way she moved that made Orion’s pulse race, his skin hot and his mouth dry. She gave him an irresistible smile that no man alive could ignore. He was on his feet, following her towards the cool water before he even think about it.
Jaina moved back into the waves of the sea, letting the water refresh and cool her skin. She watched as Orion strolled determinedly towards her. There was a heat in his gorgeous eyes, which never wavered.
The sea got waist high, lapping and rippling from Orion’s swift movements towards her. He was barely a metre away from her, unaware of her mischievous plan.
Suddenly, Jaina splashed him with a several waves of cold water. Orion yelled in shock but quickly retorted by spraying and splashing her.
Screaming in surprise, Jaina dived away into the crystal clear ocean. She swam to the bottom, to the seabed. Orion pursued her, holding his breath and chasing her underneath the water.
He caught her and pulled her to the surface.
As soon as her head was above water, Jaina started to laugh. Holding her to him, kicking to stay afloat, Orion chuckled with her.
“That wasn’t very nice.” He reprimanded.
Giggling still, she answered,
“Your face was priceless! And you yelped.”
“Did not! – Anyway you were . . were umm . .”
“I was what?” Jaina asked.
She tried to touch the floor, but realised they were in deeper water. Still amused, she wrapped her arms around Orion’s neck. Holding onto him, Jaina pressed herself close, enjoying the feel of his hard body touching hers.
Words failed Orion in that moment. It abruptly registered in his mind how close they were. Restlessly, his caressing hands slipped up and down her smooth back, loving the sensation of her wet skin under his fingertips.
“You were . . .” He tried to speak.
Silently laughing at Orion’s stunted sentence, she asked again,
“I was what?”
“Seducing me. - Or was it some kind of Force trick?”
“Tricks only work on the weak mind.” Jaina replied, “I wasn’t using the Force.”
Leaning his head closer to hers, he whispered,
“You were doing something, Force or no Force.”
Teasingly, she replied,
“Maybe.”
Laughter echoed in his words, as he spoke,
“Oh, so you were seducing me.”
“I don’t seduce.”
Orion couldn’t control himself any longer. Damp blonde curls strayed into his blue eyes, as he leaned down to feather kisses all over her cheek, jaw and neck. No other man’s lips were as gentle and tantalizingly sexy. His hot tongue flickered over her racing pulse and his teeth nipped enticingly.
A smile crept onto his mouth as Jaina gasped and moaned in enjoyment. She threw her head back, exposing more of her neck to his ministrations. Orion took full advantage of the silent invitation, softly biting and kissing her skin erotically.
Jaina’s hands smoothed up into his hair, toying with the wet strands, keeping him close.
Slowly his mouth moved upwards trailing kisses along her silky skin. He continued over her jaw line and face. His lips paused by the corner of her mouth. Suddenly hesitant. A split second past where neither of them moved.
Jaina felt her insides melting. Reality was spinning. And all she could do was embrace the contentment and peace she felt whenever he held her. She was desperate for his lips to take hers, to kiss her senseless. But that wish was taken from her.
He pulled away, leaving her aching for more.
Resting his forehead on hers, he whispered,
“Have dinner at mine tonight.”
Raising one dark eyebrow at him, she queried,
“Can you cook?”
Smiling roguishly, Orion assured her,
“It’s one of my many talents.”
“Sounds promising.”
~
Though the sun had set, there was still a glimmer of light lining the horizon. A warm breeze whispered against Jaina’s skin. Soothing sounds of the waves crashing on the sand echoed along the deserted shore. Hanna’s beach was so tranquil at night.
It was rare for Jaina to stop and just enjoy the scenery around her, now though, she craved these peaceful moments. Moments that soothed her. She leaned on the terrace railing and stared out at the calm ocean. Stars began to shine up in the growing darkness, glistening softly. The night sky was beautiful.
Orion came to the open door which led out to his veranda. He leaned against the doorframe and crossed his arms over his chest. A content smile curved at his lips, as he stood there admiring her.
Her dark-red stylish dress clung to her alluring curves. The backless part of the garment showed off more of her gorgeous skin. Curls of lush brown hair fell just past her shoulders, and wavered in the light wind. She appeared so perfect, like a goddess trapped in a mortal realm.
Then she turned towards him and his heart constricted with desire.
Jaina stood there casually and smiled at him.
With the Force she sensed something uneasy within him. At first she thought he had business or something else on his mind, then she felt his deep want and longing for her. Despite her self control, she blushed. She wasn’t use to such attention, obvious or otherwise. It was flattering. But the knowledge of his feelings scared her slightly.
She didn’t want to get attached. Not again. It hurt to fall for someone. Because they’d leave, one way or another. And the pain afterwards would scar her soul.
Yet deep inside, it was what she truly wanted. She wanted Orion to hold her, to kiss her, make her laugh, smile and talk with her until the early hours. The way his eyes gazed at her warmly made her feel wanted and important to someone.
These feelings contradicted each other. On one hand she wanted to run from Orion, but on the other hand, she wanted to run to him.
“I hope you have a big appetite.” Orion murmured, breaking the silence and her thoughts.
“I’m a Solo. We always have room for food.”
“And how about wine?”
“Wine is always good.” Jaina smirked, “Not planning on getting me tipsy now, are you, raceboy?”
Bowing his head in joking respect, Orion answered,
“Never, my lady. Just thought you’d like to relax with a glass is all.”
“I suppose one glass won’t hurt.”
Jaina followed him back into his beach house, to the living room. She had to admit his place was stunning. The design and decoration of the building was simple, but stylish. The walls were a warm creamy colour, the mats or carpets were different shades of brown, the sofas were black leather, and the surrounding ornaments were sand sculptures and beautiful pieces of art from all over the galaxy.
As she admired one of the sculptures, Orion poured her a glass of red wine.
“Where’d you get these statues from?”
“All over really,” He replied, handing her the glass, “the sand ones are my favourite. They’re from Tatooine. I got one as a gift after my accident on the sandball planet. I went back, brought a few more and slowly started to collect them.”
Carefully, he lifted up the small statue of a young mother cradling her slumbering infant. It was a simple pose, but an intimate one.
“This is one of my personal favourites.” Orion smiled, almost sadly. He spoke gently, “Just the way she holds the baby and looks at it like a precious jewel . . I understand it. I relate to it.”
Jaina frowned at him a moment, not quite understanding his words. There was something behind his statement. Both sadness and joy radiated from him, confusing her further.
As if sensing her bafflement, Orion placed the statue back and took her free hand in his.
“I want to show you something.”
Taking his lead, Jaina walked out the living room to a corridor, leading to spare rooms and bedrooms. He stopped at the blue door, opened it and led her inside.
At first it was dark. When he turned on the light Jaina gazed around in awe and surprise.
It was a child’s room.
In the corner was a cool X-wing designed bed. Stars and fighter ships covered the quilt in a cool pattern. The walls were a dark blue, painted on it were fiery stars, different planets, battleships, suns and moons. On the light rotated a lamp shade with certain designs cut in to it. So when the light shone through it, brightness would appear like shapes on the walls. Light shapes of Y-wings and star destroyers slowly moved along the walls and ceiling. Models of every kind of ship imaginable covered the shelves and beside table.
Any kid would love to have this room. It was so cool.
As Jaina looked around, Orion explained quietly,
“This is my son’s room. As you can tell he loves space ships.”
She looked back at him, and queried in shock,
“You have a son?”
“Yeah, I have boy. His name is Pedro.”
“Why didn’t you mention him before?”
Shrugging stiffly, Orion answered,
“I just don’t talk about him. I only talk of him with those who know me personally. My son is a quiet topic in the media, barely spoken of. And I intend to keep it that way. It’s not that I’m embarrassed by him or anything. I just don’t draw too much attention to him. It keeps him safe, away from the media, away from prying people.”
Jaina nodded her understanding.
She caught a glimpse of several holos on a shelf. Most of them were of Orion and Pedro together. One of them was the most heart warming picture she’d ever seen. It was of Orion, he lounged in a rocking chair on a balcony, watching the sunset. In his arms, sleeping peacefully was an adorable little boy. It was a moving image of father and son.
“How old is he?” She asked.
“Four now.”
“Do you see him often?”
Orion shook his head subtly.
“Not as often as I’d like.”
The hurt inside him made Jaina flinch when she sensed it. It was so primal and raw. Brought on from longing and love for someone he could rarely see. She wanted to comfort him. Yet didn’t know what to say.
It was funny, she’d not expected him to be a father. Not that she thought he wouldn’t make a good one. But he just did a good job of hiding that fact from most people. He played the single free guy very well. Orion being a parent was a new intriguing side of him she wanted to know about.
“Do you have any kids?” He asked very gently.
“No.” She uttered in a bare whisper, “I wanted a bunch of my own once. But that was a long time ago.”
Her melancholy broke his own heart. He’d clearly hit a sensitive nerve. Backtracking, he apologized,
“I’m sorry . . it was insensitive of me to ask.”
“No it’s fine.” Jaina cracked a small smile, and spoke with genuine curiosity, “Tell me about your son . . .”
Like any proud father, he raved about his son. And he was only too glad to have Jaina there to rave to.

RE: ~Of Roses and Racers~ Jaina/OC - romance, humour, mush > Ch 9 up! (12/2) Time Together
A wonderful chapter!
“I hope you have a big appetite.” Orion murmured, breaking the silence and her thoughts.
“I’m a Solo. We always have room for food.”
Loved it!
I wonder if his son will come into play?
