Ooh! Exciting. I love Luke and Mara's relationship in this. Oddly, I like it more than their canon one.

Yeah, I've really had a lot of fun with Luke and Mara's relationship since the beginning  . Even more fun than I've had with Anakin and Tahiri's, which... usually isn't possible. lol

I just got caught up on this, and I can't believe you're not getting more replies. This is awesome. Your writing is very stark, but that's pretty much required by the episodic style, and somehow it manages to be incredibly cinematic at the same time. I also picked up on some definite Battlestar Galactica influence, which is a-okay by me... as long as you don't make me wait until next year for the continuation! 
Leia's death took me by surprise, but it also seems like the right direction to go. Luke's inner conflict is awesome, and I love that he's collecting Force adepts. Jaina and Jag are great together--this is probably the most interesting version of their relationship I've read. I love seeing where everyone fits in here, from Han and Leia on down to Jan Ors and Alema. And my inner fangirl squees a bit to see that Vader and Thrawn are still around.
I await the premiere of season 3 with absolutely no patience whatsoever. Please add me to your PM list.

Yeah, I'm definitely a huge Galactica junkie. That's definitely the style I was going for, especially early on. I'm glad you've enjoyed it so far!

Thank you all for your comments. I've sincerely appreciated each and every one, but I recently came to the difficult decision that I can no longer in good conscience post this story (or any other) on this forum.
As you may (or may not) be aware, this board has an incredibly homophobic and insulting policy on the portrayal of same-sex relationships. I was going to have to edit some of my upcoming posts to conform to this policy (the full versions would be on TF.N and LiveJournal, but I doubt forum policy would allow me to post links). I'm not talking about NC-17 stuff. I don't write that. I'm talking about (gasp) two boys kissing.
I don't want to seem melodramatic or anything, but as a gay man I've decided that it's hypocritical and counter-productive of me to continue posting on a site with such a transparently insulting and narrow-minded policy.
I hope that didn't offend anyone, but if it did it probably says more about you than it does about me. Cheers.

Well, I am extremely saddened that I won't be able to read this excellent story here on JC, as it's a huge loss to the community. But I definitely understand your decision. I'll be keeping up with you on ff.n!
