Just wanted to tell you that I'm terribly sorry about the wait, but my USB drive broke Wednesday, so now I can't get my stuff from home to the Library. 	Huggles for the author. I thought a USB couldn't break, or not very easily. That's why if I ever have to get a PC I want everything to be USB. Argh!! 	is it one of those little mini drives that you can carry from place to place for other computers? That stinks that it broke. I got a little mini one with 1GB recently so I could transfer any writings I wrote on my laptop that doesn't have internet, to my desktop that does. I hope you get the problem fixed soon! 	Hi, all caught up, and I must say: I absolutely adore this!!!!! Re Liz's suggestion: sounds like a plan, 'cause another author had computer problems, and that's how she worked up getting a chapter posted, sending it as an e-mail. Sure do admire the dedication that involved and was happy to get the uppie. What'll really bite is when you get your techie stuff straightened out, your schedule will get crazy, and we'll be really frustrated. 	Kassandra, I hope you'll find a way to bring us another post. Mini USB drives aren't that expensive, depending on the file size maximum. 	Okay, next chapter finally up!Let's do this properlike now. Jedi_Liz I'm loving this! I've got it on active topic notification, so I'll be reading and replying. I love the addition of Mara and having her "capture" Luke instead of Teneniel. Thank you! That was actually how the story started, was with "What if Mara captured Luke?" Jade_Eyes We gotta have a sitch where Han says: "Kiss my wookiee!!" to Zsinj. laugh I loved that line!! Oh yeah, there will definitely be one of those. Huggles for the author. 	Chapter Six is here! A sidenote, all wookiee speech is in [brackets], and I took the liberty of adding a certain Dathomirian custom...enjoy! Chapter Six: “Will you shut the hell up!?” Leia screamed in fury, hurling the hydrospanner she was holding at Han and Isolder. “I swear, if you both say so much as one more word, I’ll shove you both out the airlock!” The two quieted instantly, staring remorsefully at the princess. Isolder was the first to apologize, his Hapan accent adding an exotic touch to his words. “I apologize again, Princess. I was merely trying to convince this rogue to fix his ship so we can survive this journey.” “And I keep telling him, it’s not busted! That light is always on, and the nav system always says it needs calibrating!” Han swore under his breath as he stormed out of the room, leaving the irate princess with her Hapan suitor—and an irritated wookiee. Leia turned to Isolder, sighing heavily. “You shouldn’t provoke him like that, Isolder. He’s doing his best to get us out of this mess.” Isolder grimaced. “He’s the one that got us into this mess in the first place.” He changed tact, gently taking Leia’s hands in his. “Why did you come with him? We could have gotten there with the Hapan fleet, and not had to worry about this scoundrel getting in the way.” Chewie roared as Leia pulled back, her bad temper renewed. “How dare you say that! Han is a dear friend, and he is not in the way!” Leia stormed out of the room, her exit mirroring Han’s in every way, even down to the muttered Corellian curses she had learned from the scoundrel. Chewie huffed angrily at the disconcerted Hapan prince and followed the irate princess. Isolder stared after them, confusion plain on his handsome features. C-3PO walked up behind him, sighing in exasperation. Isolder turned to him, asking, “Are they always like this?” Threepio answered, his prissy voice echoing in the nearly empty lounge. “Nearly always. There have been few times when I remember them not arguing, and they were when Mistress Leia was in love with Captain Solo.” “In love?” Shock crossed Isolder’s face, clearly Leia had not told him why she was delaying their engagement. “She loved him?” “Oh yes, Prince Isolder. I believe they were engaged for a time, but I’m not positive. They didn’t tell me, you see.” “Engaged?” Isolder’s voice was strangled as he tried to comprehend this new information. Threepio confirmed it, then headed out of the room, leaving Isolder to mull over these thoughts alone. In the meantime, Chewie and Han were in the cargo hold, the wookiee trying to reason with his smuggler friend. [Listen, my friend. You must give her time. She still cares for you, you just need to give her time.] Han stared up at Chewbacca, misery evident in his expression. “Why can’t I shoot him out the airlock? Please tell me why? No one would have to know it was me, it could be an accident.” Chewie glanced at the bottle Han held. It was down several centimeters, and the wookiee felt it would be drained before too long. He reached down and plucked the bottle from the smuggler’s hand, glancing at the label as he did so. [This trouble merits the good stuff? You should share this with Leia, after one sip you’d be engaged.] He shook his head and walked off, carrying the bottle with him. Han watched him leave, an idea forming in his slightly drunk mind. *************************** Luke and Mara reached the bottom of the mountain by mid-noon, tired from the past days’ experiences. They passed through the workers at the base of the mountain, Mara leading Luke with the capture rope looped loosely around his shoulders. She led him up the stairs leading to the mountain entrance, watching as the Singing Mountain Clan sisters began lining the steps. Augwynne stood at the top, waiting for her adopted daughter to greet her. Mara reached the top and turned to face the assemblage. She grabbed Luke’s wrist and lifted his arm up high, as if he was a winning athlete. She let out a bloodcurdling cry, then shouted out to the gathered sisters. “I am Mara Jade, a daughter of Allya! I have captured this man as my slave! Let any sister who disputes my right stand forth now!” No one moved, then a loud cheer erupted from the gathered clan members. Mara tugged Luke by the wrist and led him into the mountain, following Augwynne into a secluded room. As Augwynne shut the door, Luke questioned Mara about what had just passed. “Is that it? You bring a male home and announce that he’s your slave, and that’s it?” She nodded, “Pretty much, there’s a ceremony afterwards, but it’s really small. It basically says that you have to protect each other. At least, that’s what I get from it. I’ve never been to one.” Augwynne smiled. “You will be going through the ceremony this evening. Mother Rell has had a vision of you, Skywalker. She says you are the one who will bring balance to Dathomir. What better way to show that to the sisters than to be attached to one of our own?” Luke looked at her quizzically. “Mother Rell? Who is she?” “Mother Rell is the most ancient member of our clan. She is so old that she can’t even remember her true age. Many place her to be about six hundred, but she may be older. You will meet her after the ceremony.” Augwynne looked at the two, before asking, “Do either of you have any questions?” Mara shook her head, but Luke spoke up. “Is the ceremony necessary? And is it legally binding on other worlds?” “Yes, the ceremony is necessary for you. Your circumstances are unusual, as you are a spellcaster, and you will be bound to Mara tonight. As far as legality goes, I do not know if it is legally binding in your worlds.” Luke sat down on a hide covered stool and sighed. “What will the ceremony consist of?” Augwynne hesitated. “It is quite simple, just saying that you are bound to each other. It is very important here, and even the Nightsisters will have difficulty in capturing you if you are bound to Mara.” She smiled at them and turned to leave. Just before she passed through the door, she spoke. “Mara? You will want to bring him to your chambers so you both can prepare for the ceremony. You must be in the Council Chamber at dusk.” *************************** Mara led Luke into her rooms, gesturing to a couch on the far wall. “One of us will end up sleeping there—we can take turns if you want to.” Luke nodded and tossed his pack on the couch, looking around the rest of the room. There were actually two rooms, one with a low bed in it, and the larger room, the one they were in, looking out over the plains. There was no door separating the two rooms, and there were no curtains on the windows. A chest sat at the foot of the bed, but that was pretty much all that fit in the smaller area. Various furnishings were scattered throughout the main chamber, a small table, a couple chairs, and another chest. Mara looked around, then walked into the bedchamber. “Turn around, Jedi boy,” she said, grinning. “I’m getting changed.” Luke turned obediently around, then smiled as a witch entered, levitating R2-D2. The droid had been powered down and left at the base of the mountain when they had arrived. Luke thanked the witch, who looked him up and down appreciatively before she left. Mara came out shortly, wearing a brief, lizard-skin bodysuit common to Dathomirian women. The color however, was less common. It was a brilliant green, with a strip of red running at a diagonal along the torso. She wore dark brown leather boots, and her lightsaber hung at her belt. Luke ran his gaze unconsciously over her figure, a flush rising in his face. “Whatcha staring at, Jedi Boy?” Mara grinned at him, enjoying his embarrassment. “Your turn now. Hope you’ve got something else to wear.” Luke sighed. “You turn around now,” he said, still blushing slightly. Mara chuckled and walked into the bedchamber, leaving Luke alone. He rummaged through his pack, retrieving his spare set of Jedi robes. He dressed quickly, uncomfortable with the lack of privacy. Stowing his cast off clothes in his pack, he turned to call Mara out of the other room. And he found her leaning up against the doorframe, grinning wickedly. She saw his shocked expression and burst out laughing, struggling to remain upright as she doubled over, laughing harder than she had in her entire life. Luke glared at her, mumbling, “It’s not that funny.” She just shook her head, speaking between chuckles. “You…You should have seen your face!” They made it down to the Council Chamber without mishap, stopping for evening meal on the way. As they entered the large room, they glanced at each other, apprehension seeping through them. Augwynne was waiting for them, along with three other elders. They began speaking in tandem, reciting the ancient words. “These two who stand before us will be bound through life and death. Mara Jade, adopted daughter of Allya, will you swear to protect your mate through all dangers and difficulties?” Mara hesitated before nodding her assent. “I will.” “Luke Skywalker, spellcaster from the stars, will you swear to protect you mate through all dangers and difficulties?” Luke glanced at Mara, then nodded. “Yes.” Augwynne stepped forward, taking Mara’s right hand and placing it on Luke’s chest. She took Luke’s hand and placed it on Mara’s, then spoke softly. “You are now bound together for eternity, and none can separate you, for the Forces of Nature and Life have declared it so. Ai ameth ne reshin, cor sindra tu ren. Eth leai ran shenti cor dreshin tu kon.” The two other sisters joined her in the chant, they repeated it three times, and Luke felt the Force flowing, being channeled and directed towards him and Mara. Panic welled in his chest, but he stood transfixed, unable to move so much as an eyelid. The witches’ spell struck to two of them, knocking them both to their knees, Mara screamed, and Luke cried out, pulling her close as they were swept into a maelstrom of images and feelings. They were locked in each other’s minds, witnessing memories, images, feelings, everything they kept locked inside. They were one in the Force, their minds meshed together forever. Luke felt a slight pressure, then was catapulted across the room and out of Mara’s mind. He opened his eyes, sensing the anger welling in Mara as she rose, stalking towards Augwynne. Dark fury roiled off the warrior, sending waves throughout the entire mountain. Sisters everywhere dropped their knees in shock, unused to such raw passion. Luke surged to his feet, reaching out to Mara with his entire being, mind, body, and soul. He tackled her, trying to keep her from releasing her anger on the sisters. She whipped around, the training embedded in her muscles kicking in. Luke was propelled away from her, he lay prone on the ground as she turned her attention back to the sisters who betrayed her. “Mara!” he shouted, drawing her attention from them for a brief moment. In that moment, he opened his mind to her, drawing her in and sending the light side of the Force out to embrace her. “I’m sorry,” he murmured softly as a large vase crashed against the side of her head. The darkness dissipated, and Mara slumped to the floor, unconscious. Luke collapsed beside her, exhaustion eating away at his awareness. ***************************** Hope you liked it! 	Well if Luke is the person I think he is. He will concider that a bonding ceremony. I hope Mama feels better when she wakes up but if she remembers everything about her past I doubt it.
