Hi guys...Updates should be coming a bit more regularly...I got a new laptop Tuesday, so I can actually post stuff straight from my computer.

RebelMom:
Oh boy, I think Mara remembers her past now. She's in a dark rage and you ended it there. Evil cliffie! Good job.

Thanks! We'll see how much Mara remembers, maybe...

Jade_Eyes:

Wow!!! Loved the ceremony and the Force bonding. Why'd Mara go all postal there at the end???

Thankee! Mara's got some issues with people coercing her into doing things.

smiley_rancor:
Hopefully Mara won't be as mad when she wakes up!

Mwhahahahahaha...

JEDIFLYSWATTER:
I hope Mama feels better when she wakes up but if she remembers everything about her past I doubt it.

Hehehe, yeah, we'll see about that...

Gonkdroid27:
I'm really enjoying this story. This is a great plot idea and you are executing well. I think you have done a nice job writing Mara, even though her memory was MIA.

Aww, thank you! I do have a pm list, and you're on it now.

maramijade:
whhooooo boy, Luke's in for it now . . .

heeheeheehee...

Alrighty, here is Chapter Seven. It was rather difficult, as Mara gets to wake up, but I had fun and I hope you enjoy it! As usual, Wookiee speech is in [brackets], and also, mental communication is in *asterisks*.

*****************

Chapter Seven:

Mara woke with an aching head and a blurred memory of the ceremony. She reached up and felt the swelling on the side of her head and groaned. She tried to sit up, but a wave of nausea overcame her and a gentle hand pressed her down on the pillows. Her eyes opened slowly, but she shut them swiftly against the glaring afternoon sun.

Slowly, she cracked one open, then the next, allowing them time to become used to the bright light. Looking up, she saw Luke sitting at her bedside. He smiled softly at her, pressing a damp cloth to the lump on her head.

She swatted his hand away, scowling at the sunlight.

“Can’t you turn that thing off?” she grumbled, shielding her eyes with one hand.

Luke grinned. “It’s the sun. It doesn’t turn off. You’ve been dead to the world since last night, it’s past midday now.”

Remembrance of the events at the ceremony jolted through Mara. She sat up, curses flowing colorfully from her mouth.

Luke shoved her down and spoke fiercely. “The only reason they did that was because if we weren’t bound together, the Nightsisters could attack in force and ‘steal me away’, to quote Augwynne. Apparently, when two Force-users are bound together, their Force signatures are indistinguishable. In the Nightsisters’ eyes, I died last night. Now I’m not happy about this, but I’m not going to kill the council members for it.”

“I’m going right down there to make them undo it,” Mara snarled. “And don’t you dare try to stop me.”

“No, you’re not. Mara it can’t be undone. It is completely impossible to reverse this. We just need to learn to live with it.” His voice changed slightly, becoming more soft and serious at the same time. “Mara, we nearly lost you last night. You were drawing on the Force in pure fury, and everything you drew was dark. You scared every sister at the mountain; they thought you had become a Nightsister. You need to learn to control your temper; you accomplish nothing when you lose your head.”

“Damn it, Skywalker!” the fiery redhead swore viciously. “If you don’t get out of my way, I’ll—”

“You’ll what? Kill me? You’d have to, because I’m not letting you leave this room until you’ve calmed down.”

Mara was about to argue further when she saw the determined glint in Luke’s eyes.

*Don’t even think about it,* he warned, the thought echoing through Mara’s mind. She froze, then cursed again as she realized the full weight of the situation.

“You can read my thoughts, you can see my memories, dammit, is there any privacy left in my head at all?”

“Mara, you forget that you can see my memories and here my thoughts. We’re both in the same kriffin’ boat, and there’s not a damn thing we can do about it! Just calm down. We need to figure out what to do next. We can’t make a big deal out of it, otherwise it will have happened for nothing, because I can guarantee that the Nightsisters are watching us, and if word gets to them that we’re still around, they’ll be able to find us. And as good as you are, you couldn’t handle Gethzerion’s entire army.”

Mara slumped back onto her pillow, cursing under her breath. There was a knock at the door, and Luke rose to answer it.

A servant carrying a laden tray entered, handing the tray to Luke. He glanced at Mara, then informed Luke that Augwynne would like to know how the warrior woman was doing.

Luke raised his eyebrows slightly before replying. “She’s doing fine, tell Augwynne that the anger issue is slowly being resolved.” And that she’s being as stubborn as a bantha on a bad day, he added mentally.

*I heard that.* Mara’s thought was dry and sarcastic, but at least it was humor.

The servant left, and Luke carried the tray over to Mara. “Here you go, some nice broth, I think, and a piece of, ah, food, for after.” He gestured at the items on her plate, unsure of what exactly they were.

He waited until Mara was halfway through with her food before speaking again. “Um, Mara? I talked to Mother Rell, and I guess she used to live on some other planet, but she says that the ceremony was a legal and binding marriage.” He managed to duck the fist aimed at his face, but he couldn’t miss the dregs of soup that landed on his chest.

“Hey!” he exclaimed, “I was just telling you so you wouldn’t be surprised later.”

Mara settled back against her pillow, crossing her arms and stoically ignoring the Jedi. Luke sighed. This would be a long afternoon.

***********************************

Luke finally crawled into bed, well, the couch anyways, and rolled over, facing the wall. It had been a long and trying afternoon, trying to convince Mara not to kill Augwynne, and trying to keep her from lashing out against everyone and everything on the mountain. He understood why Mara was so hostile— it was obvious she didn’t take to betrayal very well.

Teneniel Djo had come in that afternoon, and she managed to put Mara in a better mood, but Luke wasn’t quite sure how the younger warrioress had accomplished such a feat. Over several hours, he and Mara had learned how to shield their minds from each other, Mara achieving this in record time. They discovered, however, that they could not ‘turn off’ their telepathic communication, and also that they could communicate over distance, as Luke found out much to his chagrin.

He had left the room to fetch Augwynne, and apparently Mara sensed when he found the elder. He received such a vociferous blasting from Mara that he was unable to relay it to the matriarch. His ears were still burning.

He heard Mara roll over in the next room, and gave a wry smile. Ironic, that he was spending what should have been his wedding night on a couch, with a dangerous, furious, unintentional wife in the next room, enjoying a comfortable night’s sleep on a large, restful bed. Life could be decidedly unfair at times. It didn’t help that his unintentional wife was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen.

After some time of half-sleep, his imaginings ceased, and he fell into a deep slumber. His dreams were few, and his rest was peaceful.

***********************************

She was young, maybe five years old. Her mother was smiling, and her father had just come in from the garage. They looked at her, expressions of joy on their faces.

“Mara,” her mother said. “I have something to tell you.”

Mara climbed up on a stool and regarded her mother seriously. “What is it, Momma?” she asked, her voice still retaining a toddler lisp. “What you gotta tell me?”

Her mother looked at her and said, “Mara, you’re going to have a baby sister!”

Mara’s face split in a wide smile. “Where’s the baby now, Momma?”

She giggled as her mother gently placed her hands on her mother’s still-flat stomach. “The baby’s in my tummy, Mara.”

Mara concentrated, then looked up, her eyes wide. “I can feel the baby Momma! She’s inside you!” Mara was too young to notice the look of concern that crossed her parents’ features. She was thrilled to be able to feel her baby sister’s life force, her essence intertwined with that of her mother.

When she went to bed that night, her world was perfect. How quickly it all changed.

It was the middle of the night when Mara’s father woke her up. “Come quickly, child,” he said. “We must leave quickly.”

“Where’re we going, Papa?” she asked sleepily, rubbing her eyes with chubby fists.

“We’re going on vacation.”

They met Mara’s mother in the living room, and they left quickly, loading only one pack into the speeder with them. They drove for hours, Mara falling asleep in her mother’s lap. They stopped only briefly at a fueling station, then continued, pressing on towards the house they had on the ocean. It was actually a relative’s property, but in Mara’s five-year-old mind, it was hers.

She never realized why her parents were so nervous, never even noticed their anxiety. It wasn’t until the next afternoon that things changed horribly.

She was playing in the surf when her mother called her inside. Her face was drawn and worried, and she told Mara to follow her quickly and not make a sound. Mara did so, fear flooding her small body. She followed her mother into the basement, and they sat there, silent.

The next few moments were fragmented. There was a loud knocking at the door, and Mara heard her father answer it. She heard some unintelligible conversation, then a strange whining sound. Boots clanked on the floor above her, and the cellar door soon opened. A dark, cloaked figure backed by soldiers in white armor stood before them, a mechanical hiss accompanying his every breath.

Mara felt her mother’s arms tighten around her, and the cloaked figure spoke.

“Give me the girl.”

Her mother shook her head, tears running down her face. “No! You can’t have my Mara! Leave us alone, she’s done nothing to you!”

The figure gestured to the soldiers, and four of them stepped forward, brandishing their blasters. They wrenched Mara from her mother’s arms, the little girl shrieking at the top of her lungs. Her mother fought them, screaming for her baby, and Mara heard the whining sound again. Her mother collapsed to the floor, blood trickling from her mouth.

“Nooooo!” Mara screamed, “MOMMA!”

She was dragged upstairs, where she saw her father lying on the floor, his eyes staring up at the ceiling, a burning hole in his chest. “PAPA!” she shrieked, “Momma! Papa! I want my Momma!”

The black-cloaked figure grabbed her chin, forcing her to look at him. “Your parents are dead,” he said coldly. “And if you don’t shut up, you can join them.”

Mara was dragged off, screaming inwardly for her momma, her papa, and her baby sister.

Luke sat bolt upright in bed, tears wetting his cheeks. He stumbled of the couch, swearing under his breath as he tried to untangle the bedding from about his legs. Mara was crying out, sobbing in the other room. In seconds, Luke was beside her, shushing her quietly and trying to wake her up. It didn’t work. She was locked in a memory, reliving her parent’s death.

Luke pulled her into his arms, wiping the tears away from her face. She was mumbling aloud now, saying how they had killed her parents, killed her baby sister.

He kissed her.

No rational thought could possibly have lived in his mind at that moment, all he could think of was stopping her torture. So he kissed her. And she kissed him back.

Mara woke to ecstasy. She was being kissed, and quite thoroughly too. She kissed him back, returning passion with passion. Then reality set in.

Her eyes opened and she pulled away, staring into the clear blue eyes of Luke Skywalker. “How dare you!” she hissed.

A stinging slap left an imprint on Luke’s cheek, his hand went up to his face and he winced. “Ouch! I was just trying to wake you up!”

“You can wake me up some other way, Skywalker.” Her voice was low, bitter almost.

He looked down, apologetic. “I’m sorry. It’s just, I tried to wake you up, but you wouldn’t, so I kissed you.” And I wouldn’t mind doing it again.

Mara looked at him curiously, her face softening. Slowly, she leaned in and kissed him briefly on the lips.

“What was that for?” he asked, puzzlement written on his face.

She colored slightly, looking at her hands. “You thought you wouldn’t mind kissing me again. Look, Luke, I’m sorry I freaked out. I can’t explain it, but I just don’t trust people. It seems like whenever I begin to trust someone, they betray me in some way. Luke, I’m never free. It feels like I have this voice in the back of my head ordering me around all the time, like I was someone in the past and that someone is trying to tell me what to do. I have to be in complete control or else it tries to take over my head. Last night was one of the times it succeeded. I was remembering, last night, you know that? I was back with my master, and he was telling me what to do. This is the same guy who told me to kill you. Luke, I don’t like not knowing what I’ve done! I don’t know what I was, but if the darkness I drew on last night was any sign, it wasn’t something good.”

Luke looked at her, staring into her emerald eyes. “Mara, just remember that who you are today isn’t who you used to be. You are a beautiful woman and whatever you did in the past doesn’t matter. You have the chance to become anyone you want to be, regardless of how you used to live.”

Mara was silent for a moment, then sighed. “Thank you.” She lay back down and turned her back to him, closing her eyes slowly. Luke started to rise, but she stopped him, saying, “Don’t go, please. I don’t want to dream again tonight.”

He lay beside her, hesitantly sliding an arm around her waist. She smiled and nestled against his chest. His last thought before slumber claimed him was she’s my wife.

***********************************

Han Solo sat in the lounge, waiting for Leia to appear. He had arranged a spectacular meal for her, complete with a bottle of rare Alderaanian wine saved specially for an occasion such as this. He had commissioned Chewie and C3-PO to deal with Isolder; apparently there was a roaring game of sabaac going on in the hold involving a temperamental Wookiee and a very drunk prince.

He set the last candle on the gaming table, which he had covered with a relatively clean white cloth. Wiping his hands on a towel, he waited for the princess to arrive.

When Leia walked into the hold, her mouth dropped open in astonishment. “Han,” she breathed, “It’s beautiful!”

The smuggler had indeed outdone himself. There were candles on the table, and none of the plates were dented. The lights had been turned down, giving the lounge a slightly romantic feel, a feat that Leia hadn’t believed possible in the Falcon.

“Sit down, Leia,” Han said, guiding her to a seat at the table. She sat, looking at the supper spread before her.

“It looks delicious, Han, but why all the fanciness?”

The smuggler grinned roguishly. “What, can’t a guy set up a nice dinner with his girl?”

“I’m not your girl, Han. I’m not anybody’s girl right now.”

“Well, I’m allowed to try and change that, aren’t I?” He sliced the steak and placed it on her plate along with an array of exotic vegetables. “Enjoy, Princess.” He sat next to her and served himself, then poured some wine for the both of them.

Leia took a sip, enjoying the fiery sensation as the liquor slid down her throat. “Mmm, it’s delicious, Han. Thank you.”

“Anything for you, Princess.” He poured a little more into her glass, topping off the rich, dark wine.

They continued the meal with light conversation sprinkled throughout. Han continued topping off the princess’s wineglass with the strong Alderaanian wine. The princess was steadily getting tipsy, the alcohol having an effect on her.

After a deceptive “glass” of wine, Princess Leia was rather drunk.

“Leia,” Han spoke her name softly. “Leia, can you do something for me?”

Leia looked at him wide-eyed, an uncharacteristic grin on her face. “Whaddya want me to do?”

“Promise me that when we get to Dathomir and find Luke, you’ll make Isolder go back with the Hapans and you’ll fly back with me on the Falcon. And promise me you’ll never marry that pompous, slimy, mud-brained oaf who calls himself a prince. He doesn’t deserve you.”

Leia nodded, a giggle building in her throat. “’Course I will, Han.” She stood on wobbly legs, and Han gently caught her arm.

“Let me take you to your bunk, Highness.” He helped her to her bunk, and tucked her in, kissing her on the forehead as he left. A smug smile hovered about his lips as he walked out, almost bumping into Isolder, who was staggering drunk and obviously down a considerable sum.

Feeling somewhat generous, Han showed Isolder to his room, then, whistling jauntily, made his way down to the hold.

When he arrived, he saw Chewie collecting his winnings. It was a good deal of money, and the triumphant grin on the Wookiee’s face set Han laughing. “How much did you clean off him?” he asked, still chuckling.

The Wookiee chuffed quietly, his version of a chuckle. [About three thousand credits, maybe a bit more.]

Han whistled, “Good job, buddy.”

Chewie stared at Han suspiciously, [How did your dinner go?] he asked.

“It went pretty darn well, if I do say so myself.”

[Han,] the Wookiee’s growl was low and menacing. [Is Leia drunk?]

Han looked at him, affronted. “Hey! Don’t worry, pal, she’ll sleep it off. No real harm done.”

[Unless you count the spacewalk you’ll do when she wakes up. The one without a vac-suit.]

“Hey, she promised, and she doesn’t go back on her word. I am all set to win her back, so there’s nothing for you to worry about.”

Chewie just shook his head sorrowfully. [I will not envy you in the morning.]

***********************************

“Han Solo!” Leia’s shout echoed throughout the entire Millennium Falcon. “HAN!” She stormed out of her cabin, one hand pressing a cool cloth to her head, and her entire body rigid with fury. Han drew back as she stomped into the lounge.

“Whoa, cool it, Your Worship, don’t get all in a tizzy.”

“I am not in a tizzy! This is way worse than a tizzy.” She stood in front of him, her hands now on her hips, and her dark brown eyes spitting sparks at him.

“What did you put in my drink last night?”

Han held his hands out in front of him, shaking his head. “Nothing, Your Highnessness, you drank almost half a bottle of vintage Alderaanian wine, you just got a little tipsy.”

“A little tipsy? Han, you got me stone cold drunk!”

“Hey, I’m not responsible for how much you drink! You’re a fully grown woman!”

“If you hadn’t kept refilling my glass, then—”

“Then what? You wouldn’t have gotten drunk?”

“Precisely!”

Han abruptly started laughing, which only served to fuel Leia’s dudgeon.

“What are you laughing at?” She nearly screamed the question at him, a deep flush rising in her face.

Between bursts of laughter, Han answered. “You…You don’t remember what you said last night, do you! That’s why you’re so mad!”

Leia stood right under his nose, gritting out each word between clenched teeth. “What…Did…I…Say.” It wasn’t even a question, but Han answered it just the same.

“You said that you after we rescued Luke, you’d tell Isolder to go home with the Hapan’s because you were riding home with yours truly, and you said that you wouldn’t marry Isolder.”

“I what?!” Her voice was low and threatening.

“You heard me princess, and I thank you for consenting to fly home with me.”

“You foul, backstabbing, traitorous, two-faced, inconsiderate scoundrel!”

“I thought you liked scoundrels,” Han whispered, drawing her closer and leaning down. She leaned towards him unconsciously, and he kissed her, wrapping his arms around her.

All thoughts of anger fled Leia’s mind as she slid her arms around Han’s neck. Oh, she’d forgotten how good his lips felt on hers!

“What’s going on here?”

Leia pulled away from Han and whirled around, blushing furiously as Isolder walked in, one hand pressed against his head.

“It was nothing, Han just surprised me, that’s all.”

“Nothing? You were kissing him!”

Han grinned, “Well, I am her boyfriend.”

Leia turned on him, hissing fiercely, “You are not my boyfriend! We’ll discuss this later, if I decide to talk to you again.”

Han shook his head, following Chewie out of the lounge. As they made their way into the cockpit, Han remarked to his friend, “Well, that when well, don’t you think?”

Luke managed to get married before he knew what happened. How typical of the poor guy. Hopefully, his new wife won't kill him anytime soon. tongue Seems that Mara is picking up a bit of her past. A little at a time is better than all at once.

Han is getting himself in trouble as well. Seems to be his lot in life.

Luke sure knows how to treat ladies. Especially one in particular. Ended up married, so called 'died', got slapped up side his head just for being nice, and STILL managed to get into the bed with her and cuddled. applause Seems like he also claimed her as his. Wonder if Mara heard that. I feel sorry for Leia. There is nothing worst then a hangover from wine. Yes there is I forgot...chanmpagne. Those bubbles haunt you. sick Leia might not even remember what all she said. At least she did not have to drink Han pretty. He is handsome already. Great job and thanks so much. rose

Hello everybody. This is going to be my last post for a while, I'm doing National Novel Writing Month: write a 50,000 word novel in the month of November, so I won't be able to get this up in a while.

Anyhoo, I have Chapter Eight up now.

Alrighty, here we go!

Chapter Eight:

“Skywalker,” Mara shook Luke’s shoulder, trying to wake the slumbering Jedi. “Skywalker, wake up!”

Luke rolled over and opened his eyes groggily. “Hey,” he said sleepily, rolling out of the bed slowly. “What’s the rush?”

“We’re needed outside immediately. Gethzerion is approaching.”

Luke was wide awake instantly. “She’s coming here?” Mara nodded, and the Luke grimaced. “I’ll be down in a second.”

Less than a minute later, the two were on their way to the base of the mountain. Augwynne was waiting for them, outfitted in full ceremonial regalia. Kirana Ti and Teneniel Djo stood on either side of her, their lizard-hide armor freshly polished and glinting in the early morning sun.

In the distance, a battered landspeeder approached, a dark, malevolent aura emanating from its inhabitants.

Luke watched it approach, trepidation building in his throat. Mara stood at his side, and he unconsciously reached out and clasped her hand. They stood together, side by side, awaiting the arrival of the Nightsisters.

As the speeder pulled up in front of the mountain, Luke inhaled sharply, reinforcing his mental shield.

*Are you alright?* Mara glanced up at him, worried.

*I’m fine, what about you? This isn’t going to pull you into any flashbacks, is it?* Luke’s concern washed over her, as well as an underlying emotion she couldn’t pin down.

She shook her head, *No, I won’t let it.*

They both looked up as two figures stepped out of the speeder. Dark energy roiled off them, permeating the air with the foul stench of evil. They wore long black cloaks, with hoods pulled over their faces. The smaller of the two stepped forward and drew the cloak off her head. A barely audible gasp arose from the crowd as they beheld the wizened Nightsister’s face.

Dark purple blotches mottled her sickly yellow skin, and her eyes burned with an insane evil. She smiled at their disgust, broken, yellowing teeth showing behind her cracked, scabbed lips. When she spoke, her voice was cracked and saliva dribbled slowly down her chin.

“We have come for the male from the stars. He landed in our territory and by rights he belongs to us.”

Augwynne stepped forward, her face hard as uncut granite. “You are too late, Gethzerion. The male has been captured by one of our sisters. You cannot have him, so leave our mountain.”

Gethzerion cackled, “You have no power to stop me from taking him, Augwynne. Your pathetic spells are no match for my power.” She stepped forward, approaching Luke and Mara. “So, you are the male from the stars?” Luke nodded, and she smiled comfortingly. Her voice dropped, and became a sickly sweet tone. “Wouldn’t you rather come live with my sisters? We could teach you such power as you have never imagined. You could rule this world, with one of the Nightsisters at your side.”

Luke felt her reach into his mind, probing, searching for a way to gain entrance. He unconsciously reached out through his bond with Mara, gathering strength from her and reinforcing the shield around the both of them. Bolstered by their combined strength, Luke smiled lopsidedly at the Nightsister, a look reminiscent of Han Solo’s cockeyed grin.

“No, actually, I wouldn’t be happier with you. I have felt the Dark side before, and I promise you, it is not stronger than the Light.”

Gethzerion pressed harder, sending the Force out in dark waves, pressing against his shield, searching for a way to get to him. “Come now, young Jedi. You don’t want to be trapped here. There is a ship coming, a starship that can get you off this planet. All you have to do is join me.”

Luke’s shield slipped slightly at these words. A ship! That could only mean that Han was on his way.

*Stick with it Skywalker,* came Mara’s tart command as she held the shield firm. *Get your head back here right now. We’ll worry about the ship later. *

*Sorry.* Luke turned back to the Nightsister, his face free of emotion. “You can’t force me to leave here. I’m perfectly satisfied, and there is nothing you can do to prevent my staying.”

Gethzerion’s eyes grew wide and anger rolled off her. “How dare you!” She spat, fury burning in her eyes. “I will kill you, Skywalker. Trust me, you will die before the week is up.”

She turned and strode back to the landspeeder, her silent companion following behind. When they left, Augwynne breathed an audible sigh of relief, glancing over to where Luke and Mara stood. “Are you two alright?” she asked.

Mara nodded, supporting Luke. He was emotionally drained by the ordeal, more so than Mara as it was his mind that had been attacked. He held onto her arm as she led him into the mountain, both of them keeping their thoughts shielded.

When they were inside, Luke turned to Mara. “She’s still trying to get in, she’s trying to manipulate me.”

Mara scowled, “We can fix that.” She closed her eyes and reached out through the Force, connecting first with Luke, then with the tendril of thought Gethzerion was reaching through. Melding her Force sense with Luke’s, she opened up a tiny hole in their shield. Gethzerion noticed it immediately, but the moment she tried to get through, Mara slammed her with a Force wave so strong, Gethzerion felt it physically despite the distance between them.

The Nightsister’s presence withdrew, and Luke breathed a sigh of relief. “Thanks,” he murmured, massaging his brow where a headache was developing. “That’s a pretty neat trick, where’d you learn it?”

“No idea.”

“Sorry, I forgot.”

Mara shrugged it off, her mind already wrapping around the possibility of a functional ship landing on Dathomir. “The ship she talked about, when do you think it’ll arrive?”

Luke pursed his lips, thinking for a moment. “How many days have I been here?”

“About five since I captured you, I don’t know how long before then.”

Luke stared up at the ceiling, “I spent a day in the forest, then another crossing the plains, so that makes a total of eight days. Han should be here in approximately two days.”

“How do you know it’s this Han person?” Mara was skeptical.

Luke just grinned. “It’s going to be Han Solo, Chewbacca, and C-3PO, as well as Princess Leia Organa, and possibly another person, Isolder, the Prince of Hapes.”

Mara whistled. “Wow, you have some pretty important friends. Just hope they land where we can get to them. How do you know all these people?”

“Leia is my sister, Han is a good friend, Chewie is Han’s first mate, and Threepio is Leia’s protocol droid. I gave him my nav coordinates, and told him if anything went wrong he was to give them to Han immediately. They took about three and a half days off the proscribed journey. The Falcon is much faster than my x-wing, so they should get here four days sooner than would be expected. That leaves us two days to wait.”

“The princess of Alderaan is your sister?”

“Uh, yeah, I found out just before the battle over Endor. It was announced on Galactic News, you didn’t hear about it?”

“Skywalker, I didn’t hear about anything after the Emperor’s death. I must have been in some sort of confinement.”

Luke nodded understandingly. “Do you want me to fill you in?”

She nodded emphatically. “Please, I hate not knowing what’s going on.”

Luke took a deep breath and began recounting the Galactic happenings since the Battle of Endor.

***********************************

The tension aboard the Millennium Falcon was so thick, it could be sliced with a vibroblade. Leia wasn’t talking to Han, Han wasn’t talking to Isolder, Isolder wasn’t talking to Chewie, wasn’t talking to Threepio, and Threepio was trying to talk to everybody.

The past day and a half had been virtually silent on the Falcon, except for Threepio’s tinny voice calling plaintively, “Can’t we all just get along?”

Now, the Falcon was approaching the Dathomir system, and the tension was even thicker than ever. As the clock counted down, Han noticed that Leia was growing more and more agitated. “Hey, princess, there’s nothin’ to worry about. Luke is a big boy, he can take care of himself.”

The princess just glared at him, and he backed away, palms facing her. “Okay, okay. I get it.” He turned, chuckling to himself as he made his way to the cockpit. He glanced back as he did so, calling out. “Hey, princess! Pop into the gunwell, would you? Chewie’s already in one, but we’ll need all the firepower we can get.”

There was no answer, and he shook his head, plopping down in the pilot’s seat. The warning light flashed, and he eased the ship out of hyperspace, a wild yell erupting from his throat as he dove straight for the planet, cutting right through a squadron of TIE fighters. He saw one explode as a jubilant shriek came from Leia’s gunwell, and a second explosion was followed by Chewie’s wild roars.

Isolder came barreling into the cockpit, fury flashing on his face. “What the hell are you doing?” he shouted. “Are you trying to get us killed?”

Han just shoved him into a seat, “Strap in, or you’ll be the death of us all!”

Isolder quickly strapped himself in, still berating Han. “What are you thinking! You’ll kill us all! This ship can’t—”

“Shut up!” Han literally screamed at him, quickly sending the Falcon into a spiral to avoid a barrage of laser fire. Isolder quieted immediately, realizing that to distract the ex-smuggler would mean death to all. Han skillfully angled the Falcon towards the planet, grinning as he saw another group of TIEs explode.

“She’s a hot shot, that Leia,” he said proudly. “She can outshoot anyone I’ve ever met, except maybe Wedge Antilles and Luke Skywalker.”

There were no more words after that, Han being to focused on his flying to hold a conversation. Finally, they reached atmosphere, Han shouting into the comm. “Hang on everybody!”

They dove into atmosphere, the turbulence jouncing the ship as they made planetfall. The hideous whines of the ion engines followed them as they skimmed the ground, searching for a place to hide.

Luke is going to need a large supply of painkillers the way his brain is getting battered. I wonder what Leia will think about him getting married without telling her? silly

What a choice Luke has. A gross yellowish purple with scabs on her lips female or a fantastic red head with a knock out body and emerald colored eyes. Gosh what a hard decesion to make. thinking Gethzerion gives a new definition to coyote ugly. Great job and thanks . pumpkin

this fic really is underrated. And it deserves to be on page 1 now that that NaNoV month is over.
